Forbes Magazine for Negative User Reviews

A complete waste of moneyThis app is completely frozen on both my iPads for a week. UNACCEPTABLE. Charges you every month without fail but delivers content very infrequently. These people are crooks.Version: 22.0

Not badNot bad, but the covers never change in Newsstand when the issue changes..Version: 4.5

Scam?I paid for a years subscription, over a month ago, for this but have not been given any login information. This is not what you expect of Forbes. I would advise against subscribing unless they improve their user support..Version: 27.0

Stops loading new articles after a few daysI have to reinstall the app every few days as it seems to just… stop loading new articles. I wish it would save my read articles per account instead of per device as I read on both my tablet and my phone. Love the content but haven’t loved the app experience..Version: 26.0

Could be betterMagazine Covers do not update.Version: 4.5

Extremely slowThe content is great, but unfortunately the app is incredibly slow. Worse, it says the magazine issue has completely downloaded, and then every single page appears blurry and another minute is required to load each page properly. Terrible..Version: 5.8

AlexandraI paid £20 to have less content than available online for free. No way to order print edition. Prompts me to pay for every article even though I have subscription. Search is very poor. Text is hard to read. Poor integration with iPhone general features. No offline content. No response from tech support. No selectable privacy options. Account settings managed by a third party. No way to view / post comments. Sorry, but it’s crap..Version: 18.6

Subscription problemsI bought the promotion for a two year subscription. They took the money and issued an account number. However their app will not accept the account number or the other ways to login. I had Numerous contacts with customer service for subscriptions for two weeks I was passed around from one department to another. No one would focus on the problem and it never got resolved. I had to request a full refund. Is that crazy or what??.Version: 21.0

ClunkyOne of the worst.Version: 12.0

PoorYou can't download magazines to read off line, so useless for reading on a train or subway journey where there's no reliable network signal..Version: 8.4

Didn’t work and took my moneySubscription didn’t work but it still charged me and they refused to refund. So I lost 30 bucks and got nothing in return. And then it was a pain in the neck trying to prevent this scam subscription from recurring. So frustration because I subscribed to the physical Forbes magazine for over 10 years and then to be treated like this is a complete betrayal. I never write reviews but this was beyond infuriating to be scammed like this..Version: 24.0

Rip offI already pay for a subscription, I have an account but yet I have to pay more money for a “ PREMIUM SUBSCRIPTION “ to read certain articles Complete RIP OFF.Version: 27.0

Worst magazine appForbes obviously doesn’t care about the customers. I have sent in a complaint about this over a year ago and recently and they are standing pat. It doesn’t remember where you last read. Fortune had this issue years ago but fixed it. Forbes just prefers to stick to outdated technology and does not care about its subscribers..Version: 25.0

My account wont even sync.I made my Forbes account in my Macbook and I downloaded the app in my phone as I was logging in it told me MULTIPLE TIMES my password was wrong even though im confident it was right, so i changed it, then i tried again. same thing happened "Please make sure you have entered your email and password correctly." Okay :/.Version: 26.0

Paid, but no product.Update to my earlier review. It’s been 3 weeks, still no response after two emails to the ‘customer support’ department. I paid for the 1 year subscription, but wasn’t able to get paid access. I’ve since been refunded by apple but no response from the in-app customer support. Forbes, your content is great but your 3rd party app management is laughable..Version: 15.0

All Stories don’t loadJust got this.’Feature’ stories load. ‘Most popular’ load a sentence and that’s it. I can go online, find the complete story so there is obviously more that isn’t downloading..Version: 25.0

Unlimited Access is a jokeDespite having an unlimited access subscription, I cannot use the app on my iPad. Instead I have to use the web browser to view content. Very disappointing..Version: 26.0

App won’t recognize my subscriptionI subscribed through the browser and paid. The app recognizes my login but says no subscription and wants me to pay again. Well, at least i can access content through my browser. Pretty heavy ad load however. One plus: browser access let’s you turn off auto-renew..Version: 26.0

Where’s 2020’s Magazine?I could only receive 2019 magazines. After receiving a response from what I thought was Forbes, I learned this is a separate developer app and not developed by Forbes publishing. Weird..Version: 21.0

You don’t get what you pay forThis app is not clear about what content you get access to and that ok fact to read everything you will need to pay £5.99 per article. Burying this detail in the app description, without even clarifying the details there Feels like somewhere between a rip off and a scam. Bottom line I am lying £22 for a subscription, I can’t access what I thought I could and I have no clarity on how to upgrade and at what cost.Version: 25.0

HorribleI don’t even write reviews ever but this app was so horrible, I felt an obligation to speak out about it. Where do I begin…well I’ll start with the fact that it took a century just for the scroll to register. I mean I could’ve gotten up, popped a hot pocket in the microwave, taken a bite of it when it comes out just to realize it’s to hot, come back to my room….all before it took the time for the scroll to register. Second, I tried to search articles and nothing popped up. Then the user face seems so outdated and illegitimate, like I’d catch a virus from using it or like one of those apps you find advertised while watching an illegal stream. If I could give this app 0 stars, I would but I’m forced to give it a 1, but I guess I have to since the app actually turned on. Needless to say, I will not be downloading this app ever again. Forbes, more like Horbs (short for horrible)..Version: 26.0

RubbishWhat's the point of a magazine app that doesn't allow to to download and read the magazine off line? I would normally read magazines when I am flying or traveling by tube, unfortunately this app needs you to be connected to the net for every page. I would expect more from such a big name..Version: 9.5

Great Magazine, Terrible AppForbes is truly a great magazine. It's unfortunate that its iPad reading experience is one of the worst of any magazine app out there. Navigating and seeing the text of some articles can be really tedious. This app is a couple of notches above reading an online PDF. And, on some pages, an online PDF would be preferable. Surprising coming from such a top rate organization. Forbes could learn a lot from the Wired iPad app. John W.Version: 5.13

WhyThis is the most poorly designed app I've ever seen. It's difficult to navigate, and has complicated and unnecessary features.Version: 4.8.1

No ability to read offlineI would normally like to read this type of magazine whilst flying / travelling. Unfortunately the app requires you to be online as each page refreshes turn by turn. Hence it is completely impractical and unusable. I’m frankly surprised that a publication such as Forbes could get this so wrong.Version: 5.11

BobThe app has never worked well. I’ve had to buy the app and pay Forbes to be able to use it? Now the format has changed which I don’t care for. There are great apps out there: WSJ, Economist, even Sports Illustrated. Forbes should be able to do much better than this. The developer represents the publisher and this does not make the publisher look good. We expect and should see excellence..Version: 21.0

Crashing constantlyYour app continuously crashes when reading articles on iPhone. Please find a quick fix for this problem. Thank you..Version: 15.0

Annoying ads that won’t go awayAds all over the page and won’t go away. Very annoying.Version: 26.0

Forbes is smart… ButI’ve been reading Forbes magazine almost 50 years, so they don’t have to sell me on their worthiness. Yet as we often see in business the provider has not tried to buy their own product from themselves. I have a regular magazine subscription and am having a very difficult time figuring out how to get it digitally-which I think I would now prefer. So many less popular magazines have this available. One stand out is The Economist which gives you a beautiful digital, and a spectacular audio version to listen to while working out or driving. Hey Forbes– just copy The Economist digital/audio format. It has taken a lot of effort for me to get to this point, which is nowhere..Version: 12.0

Content is great. The app is quite disappointing.Love Forbes and the content. Even subscribing can’t make it so the note that tells you to turn on your notifications will go away. Nor will turning on your notifications. Not all of the content can be read either. Certainly expect more from Forbes. “A” for content. “D-“ for the app itself. One of the most frustrating apps I have used..Version: 23.0

BrutalWill not stop crashing, need to re download it every time I want to use the app..Version: 26.0

Why do I need a subscription when Instill have to pay $5 dollars to read a magazine?!There is no point in getting this subscription! I repeat, DO NOT GET THE SUBSCRIPTION!! I bought a year subscription and I still need to pay 5 dollars per magazine for each magazine I want to read? What is the point? This should be changed..Version: 10.0

Forbes digital magazinePurchased a year digital subscription from I-tunes. Couldn't log in without an account number which after 4 days, neither Apple support or Forbes could give me one. Each firm said that I'd have to contact the other firm - so in the end neither were of any help. What an absolute pathetic way to do business. Apple support did promise a refund, but both companies lost and I won't try to purchase any other mags fromI-Tunes in the future. R. Radke.Version: 4.5

Cannot Access AnythingVery disappointed with this app. I tried everything to get access to their content and at this point is useless. I paid $30 for the year and I was only allowed to view the first month of it. I contacted the customer service and after doing what they asked me to do, I was still not able to access it. I already cancelled my subscription..Version: 21.0

No PDFDoes anybody know how to get the PDF version in the app?.Version: 12.0

Struggling with this interface - really not well laid outI love the quality of Forbes journalism, but the iPhone app is killing me. I see pictures with a word or two of text under them. Can’t tell what anything is about without clicking on it. There’s a banner asking me to turn on notifications permanently wasting a portion of my viewing area. Come on guys… this is shoddy design..Version: 26.0

Fire your programmers forbesThis is the most overbuilt poorly executed app I've ever experienced. It couldn't be less intuitive and overrun with way too many unnecessary features. Steve jobs would be rolling in his grave if he knew that such a cluster existed on his App Store. Which is a shame because I really want to read the great forbes content, but am faced with an explosion of unsavory seizure inducing features every time I blink. Fire your programmers.Version: 5.9

Poor quality of imageOnce you zoom in on the article the image quality is pretty poor. Hope Forbes can fix that or temptation to unsubscribe is pretty strong....Version: 2.9.3

Love the magazine. The app, not so much.I hate to ever leave a negative review, but my hope is the the magazine publishers realize how poor of a job their app developer is doing representing their brand. I’ve been a reader for years, and recently decided I wanted the magazine available instantly on my iPad. After paying for the subscription, the app still demands that I pay for every issue. It tells me that I need to activate my subscription, yet does not have any of my credentials recognized. I’ve given it a week to try to contact the developer, but still no response. Apple has issued me a refund, which still leaves me disappointed. I’ll take my money back, but what I wanted was the articles..Version: 15.0

Subscribed, but no access to content on appSubscribed to a 12-month service, but have no access on app..Version: 25.0

Access is Too PainfulThis is one of the most annoying apps I have come across. I currently have a subscription that expires in 6 months. I get countless prompts to enter my information and renew. I’ve lost track of how many times I have entered my info, but it doesn’t seem to recognize any of it. The customer experience is just AWFUL..Version: 26.0

Can’t Log InThe option to log in with Google is not offered. The app says that it can’t find my email address even though it is definitely correct and I cannot find my account number anywhere..Version: 26.0

Worst advertising campaign everDo not recommend. Way too many advertisements. Obviously the company is in financial distress or willing to piss off every customer they have left with non stop advertising. Like there's a fine line and Forbes has crossed it only caring about making money off of customers by selling advertisements. Go bankrupt sell to someone that has vision..Version: 8.2

Buggy VideoGreat content and I love they’re moving more digital. My complaint is the buggy-ness of the app. Before I’d pay for it, I’d like to know I can watch a video without it buffering for 10 min..Version: 20.0

Confusing subscription information.Very confusing subscription information provided. Paid app monthly subscription only to find out that extra payment is required..Version: 12.0

The worst experienceI bought a subscription online first and then it got randomly cancelled without any refunds. Then, I bought a subscription in the app - and never received an receipt, can’t log in into the app, but money has been charged. Emailed customer support - crickets.Version: 25.0

Poorly formatted appI like having access to Forbes on my iPad, but this is the most poorly formatted app out of all of the news apps that I currently use. This is particularly true given the price of the subscription. I want to have access to the magazine; so I continues to subscribe. However, this is the only app that makes me feel the cost of the subscription is not consistent with the value of the technology..Version: 26.0

Is this a joke??Horrible app. The magazine is essentially a PDF scanned copy...not interactive like say a Time magazine. And to top it all off, print subscribers have to pay extra for this "scanned" copy?? Just horrible all around..Version: v1.0

JbI want the justin bieber one were is it!.Version: v1.0

BadThe quality of its articles is declining and to read it in the app is not easy. Almost impossible to download it and read it when you don’t have connectivity. After being a subscriber for over 30 years I look at it less and less..Version: 12.0

DO NOT DOWNLOAD-COMPLETE SCAMNot only do you not have access to the content after you clearly start the subscription but there’s no customer service relationship to answer why it’s not working ( message they will NEVER respond) and to add insult to injury, there’s no option to cancel your subscription unless you call your bank to block them..Version: 18.6

Unable to view paid content despite unlimited subscriptionI am logged in and I have a subscription Was never able to view full content in the app, only on the web The help section of the app does not seem to send feedback email Cmon people it's not that hard to do it right Are that that bad with your money? Or just my money...Version: 25.0

Terrible!! Deleted after 1 MinuitTry's to get you to pay!.. Hard to find what I wanted to see Rubbish app.Version: 4.5

Just a copy of the print magazine. This edition offers nothing beyond the print magazine, just the same scanned pages with all the ads and clutter. This company couldn't even make the effort to reformat the content for the iPad like Harvard Business Review did. Disappointing, expected more from Forbes..Version: v1.0

MDUpdated the app and keeps crashing. So disappointing.Version: 4.0

Misguided informationI installed the app to find out that in order to view certain articles I was prompted to either buy the content article for a one time purchase of $8.49 OR I could subscribe, giving me the option for a 1 year of $39.99, or 1 month for $3.99. After purchasing the 1 month subscription I thought I would have access to all the content they have available, if you want to download or read a searched article, you have to pay an additional $8.49 for each article. 🤨.Version: 22.0

Sept 30 updateInstalled sept 30 update and now can't access magazine.Version: 4.0

Subscription problemsI subscribed the 49USD package on the website for a full access to all content, but I can’t access to my subscription on the app, I’m writing to the customer service but no way they answer me… how can I get a refund?.Version: 26.0

Halfway thereGreat article content but the app design and functionality needs some work..Version: 2.9.3

Good content bad platformRegistered user but keep askings me to pay for each issue!.Version: 2.9.3

Free App, not one free articleCannot see the value for an iPhone..Version: 5.13

Not a great news layoutI like Forbes’ news but it’s layout is awkward compared to Google’s layout. It seems less newsy and more artsy. The issue with the layout is it really doesn’t lend itself to sorting through articles quickly..Version: 25.0

Raw and outdated appWas excited about subscription but after I paid it still was forcing to subscribe and wouldn’t let me read anything. Not only that, I’ve noticed my phone was flat for a couple of days by lunchtime which is unusual. Went to check in the settings what’s going on to see that... 42% of my battery was drained on Forbes background activity. Why a magazine subscription app uses my data on the background all day long? The trust is broken, never again.Version: 15.0
