AmazingThis app is fun and educational at the same down! Fun for young and for old! Very educational and you learn lots about diseases and the CDC.Version: 2.2

More please!Great app - well done CDC. Level 3 scenarios for older kids (and those of us who just like puzzles) would be good..Version: 2.4

AMAZINGI got super addicted to this and solved all the outbreaks within two hours, please add more outbreaks. Other then that awesome..Version: 1.0

SarahFun and educational, could do with some more sound, like background music and not sure if it's developed past level 2 yet but so far enjoying it :).Version: 2.0

Great game...better played on a larger screenI love this concept for engaging people in the lives of others who are working behind the scenes and protecting our communities from the next big health concern. I am thoroughly enjoying reading about the cases, both historic and fictional, that have their bases in the reality that effects many communities around the world. My only problem with this game is the fact that I am unable to read many of the games data sheets because the print is too tiny to see. Because of this, I am forced to guess at many of the answers to the questions as a player I am being graded on..Version: 2.4

Very RealisticThis game has a very real feel to it, it gives you the stories, evidence and clues you need to solve a case like a CDC agent. If anything it's really fun and you get to learn about how different diseases are contracted. Oh and First comment. :).Version: 1.3.1

AwesomeYou learn a lot while having fun doing it!.Version: 2.5.1

Really cool gameCDC Solve the Outbreak is a good game that guides you into how to solve disease cases. There are missions that you have to complete and in every mission, there is a few questions and clues. Based on the clues you have to answer those questions. If you answer one correctly, you get points. If you answer it wrong, nothing happens. There are also two chapters one with harder cases, and one is easier. Even though I am still on the easy one, there are still some hard questions that you need to answer. This is a really cool game that teaches you a lot and I enjoyed playing it. I recommend this game to anyone who wants to become a detective or likes to solve questions that needs a lot of complex thinking..Version: 2.1

Great AppVery educational, engaging and fun app. Excellent introduction to the work of epidemiologists. Accessible for a variety of age groups. Makes me want to solve more outbreaks and be a 'germ nerd'.Version: 1.3.1

Great, but sometimes too obvious......Granted, I've only completed the first case. More thinking questions could be built into the app, and more discussion questions. But, of course, they can always be built into the use of the app by the teacher..Version: 1.2

Very informativeSolve the Outbreak offers an enjoyable learning environment for those interested in epidemiology..Version: 1.3

Fun & EducationalThis quiz-type game is surprisingly fun and engaging, letting you take on the job of a 'disease detective' trying to determine the source of outbreaks, while giving insight into the role of public health specialists..Version: 1.3

Tool for restaurant workersAwesome app ! I run a restaurant and use this app at down times to educate and interest my employees for " serve safe " purpose. For that purpose alone this app is invaluable !!! As a game, it is super fun, what a wonderful combination of educational tool and good old detective type game, love it ! Only one problem, that we all hope here will be fixed soon - more cases, please provide more. Maybe now federalized health department would want to invest in this app and make it a part of their " ever so dry and utterly boring serve safe " necessity ???.Version: 1.1

Excellent way to keep the grey matter workingTex.Version: 1.2

Fun and educationalWhat an excellent program for adults and children who might be interested in solving things. One can learn the basics as well as getting more advanced knowledge as they desire. As a former public health nurse, I wish this program had been available then. I recommend it to anyone who wants to have fun while learning. As a plus it is easy to use..Version: 2.0.1

GreatI love this app. I love solving things and this app is excellent for getting a good education about disease and having fun..Version: 2.0.1

Excellent butI wish it was a real game....Version: 2.5

Well done!Thank you so much, this program is so well done, I love learning new things, and have always been interested in medical information. It really perks up my brain..and sweeps away the dust...you really have spent quality time on this program and I hope that who ever has made this program Is highly appreciated. I'm sure it was designed by many talented people, so thank you to all..I can continue to learn and I will highly recommend this to others!.Version: 1.3.1

Terrific AppTerrific App!!!!!!!! good for teaching. It a must. Bring more cases please!!!!!!!!!.Version: 1.2

Love this app!I love how this challenges you to solve the epidemic outbreak, while teaching you key vocabulary, as well as many science objectives! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because there is lots of reading, and it would be nice to have optional audio available, especially for students that struggled with reading..Version: 1.3.1

Nice updateYou've done a good job on the update. I had done a high school assignment on Dengue and TB. So glade you put dengue fever as it is such a wide spread and dangerous disease. Those damn mosquitoes. It would be cool if you done older disease like the Black Plague and disease that we are immune to. Thanks for the update. I look forward to seeing more. Anyone thinking of downloading for the sake or learning or just to be a bit of a detective should download. Cheers!.Version: 2.0

Awesome app!Lots of amateur epi fun! Please keep adding more cases to solve! It's fun being a public health nerd :).Version: 1.1

I love the CDCHello. I am 12 and have been interested in the concept of infectious disease since before the pandemic. The CDC is the coolest thing ever! Please reply..Version: 2.5.7

Fun and educational for teensReally interesting. Just wish there was a harder adult version..Version: 1.3

I Love This App!Way to go, CDC! Your online zombie preparedness campaign was excellent but this app is wonderful. It's accurate, engaging, and educational. I use it all the time with my high school epidemiology class and they love it. Please make a 3rd level asap!!!.Version: 2.5

Very EducationalComing from the bench side of microbiology, I haven't had much experience in epidemiology and processes used to identify and learn more about outbreaks and emerging diseases. This app is both fun and educational. Looking forward to more soon!.Version: 1.0

Fun and Educational!I'm a current Microbiology major looking to become an epidemiologist in the future. This app is awesome because it allows you to experience that line of work in a fun way that teaches you a lot about how Disease Detectives and their colleagues do their thing. Excellent app!.Version: 1.3.1

AwesomeThis was both entertaining and informative, I love ❤️ this app Thank - you for providing such a quality game ..Version: 2.5.1

This Is So Cool!I love how the Centers For Disease Control (CDC) interpreted the fun knowledge of health into an amazing interactive. I personally love learning about diseases and health, for I wish to be a geneticist when I grow up. Thanks a bunch CDC, and extra thanks to somebody at the CDC that recommended this to me!.Version: 2.5.1

Fun & educational at the same timeIf you enjoy solving mysteries, this app is fun. I wouldn't say any of it is designed to be overly challenging, but you still get to use the analytical side of your brain. In addition, the app is very educational on how different diseases are contracted. I like the updates they've made to the app over time too. Nicely done..Version: 2.0.1

Junior Epidemiologists in the making.A good eduction tool for teens applying the principles and basic tools of epidemiology and critical thinking with a good dash of detective work. Great work CDC.Version: 1.2

Well made, accurate medical gameFairly detailed, medically accurate, and relevant. Well designed and polished interface. Would score higher for greater medical depth (though that is because I work in Healthcare). Definitely worth the download!.Version: 1.3.1

Solve the OutbreakGood fun way to test knowledge but need more outbreaks to solve.Version: 1.0

ExcellentWe need one for visiting the sick in hospital. Like hand washing, staying away when sick..Version: 1.3.1

AmazingWhen I go to update Plague Inc., I noticed in the description that the CDC put up this game. And ever since I downloaded this, I was able to solve diseases instead of spreading them. But overall, it was an extremely puzzling game with a bunch of new things to learn about. What an amazing game to play!.Version: 1.1

MsVery educational . Well done.Version: 1.3.1

I love itThis is one of the best thinking games there is.Version: 2.5.2

Well done CDCAwesome app! Makes you really think about the lengths these professionals have to go to to protect us from all these diseases and viruses..Version: 1.3.1

Awesome AppJust played first time. Luv it. Realistic and factual..Version: 1.3.1

Interesting, Informative, and Fun. Good app.I liked it. It was informative, it had a lot of interesting content, and it is free without those in app purchases I'm getting sick of. It's one of the few apps I have no regrets about getting. I would recommend it to people interested in how disease control ACTUALLY works..Version: 2.1

Love this App!I found it quit by accident, although I'm not sad that I did. Well put together, excellent factual information, you use your critical thinking skills to solve. I have always been interested in the area of infectious diseases, so this has really kept my interest....now back to the app :-).Version: 1.0

Epidemiological StarterI really enjoyed the app. The app is useful for general publics' understanding of complexities associated with evolving existing pathogens and new emerging pathogens plaguing society today. Please provide more because the app is much more fun than the no-brainer games we have to choose from now..Version: 1.1

AwsomeI liked this game because it is realistic yet still puzzling..Version: 2.0.1

Much better than 2048!This is a great "game" where you learn along the way. Some answers seem logical, but the rationale provided can increasing your understanding of epidemics. I highly recommend!!!.Version: 2.0.1

Excellent case presentationsThe gamification of the learning process makes this app engaging and entertaining. Congratulations to the developers for creating an app that makes learning epidemiology fun!.Version: 2.5.2

Fun appI immensely enjoyed this game. The cases are realistic. Some of the questions are dumb ambiguous. Like in the Dengue fever case. I incorrectly chose to quarantine the affected. The next question was about local spread from the affected group. Mildly annoying and confusing. However does not detract from an otherwise excellent toy.Version: 2.5.7

Very educational, but too short. This game is a great play-through. It's very informative, and I learned a lot. If I had to find issues, they would be the lack of replay value (easy to remember answers), linear setup (story doesn't change based on your answers, it just tells you if you were mistaken, docks points, and moves on), and the fact that it's too darn short. I want more levels!.Version: 2.2

Loving this game!Public health and what CDC scientists and doctors do in a super accessible form! This is a game for all aspiring public health professionals and people that just want to know a bit more about outbreaks and what goes into the news and how they get there. This really is what we do in the real world of public health. -Preventive Medicine Resident.Version: 1.1

Won't sync to my iphone 5sIs anyone else having this problem? Looks like an awesome app, but doesn't allow me to sync to my iphone (I've got plenty of available memory)..Version: 2.0

Fun and informative game! This game is very strategic and involves complex thinking, the game also uses interesting clues, definitions and settings. The cool thing is that the outbreaks are based on really cases. I think this game is really educational because if someone really wanted to become a investigator this would be great practice especially because they are real world problems. Also this game is great because if these outbreaks were to happen again, people would have a better knowledge of what to do and how to deal with the pandemic. I suggest you only download this game if you are into taking apart evidence and lots of reading. Overall, I really enjoyed the game!.Version: 2.3

Amazing!!Wow! Very interesting and informative app..Version: 2.0.1

Great app! Awesome game!Addictive, eye-opening and fun! Best game I've played in a while. Highly recommend!.Version: 1.1

Cdc app - great learningFantastic gamefication of active learning in this app suitable for anyone interested in basic public health processes - ideal for MED students and people seeking an introduction to public health..Version: 2.2

GreatThis app is very educational. It gives a good understanding as to what a happens in a epidemic..Version: 2.0.1

Fun with my studentsI will project this on the screen and work through it as a class. The kids really like it. I only wish there were more situations..Version: 1.2

Meh & lolOk, but improvements should be made.Version: 2.5.2

CDCFascinating!.Version: 2.0.1

EpidemiologyThis is really a great app, I had fun solving the outbreaks. Could you please add more outbreaks for us to solve?.Version: 1.1

Wow!I thought being a detective would be boring! This app is very interactive and is very helpful! Once you start, you can't stop! I hope you keep adding more outbreaks! This is really a great learning tool!.Version: 2.5

LOVE IT!Well thought out, educational and fun. I am enjoying this app immensely!.Version: 2.0.1

Realistic outbreak-solving fun!A near-perfect meld of education and problem-solving, and the app itself is very slick. However, there aren't currently very many outbreaks available (although it looks like there will be more), and for me it would be nice if the solutions were a bit harder and more complex..Version: 1.1

Greatness for the youngThis is one awesome package. It teaches the young and old about the CDC, the user learns a little about tables and it is done in a playful way. This is one program that should be a mandatory experience in every high school on a global basis. This is a great achievement and I hope the puzzle that this app offers will grow and grow!.Version: 1.2

Great app!Very informative and fun to play..Version: 1.3.1

Love this appThis is so fun and educational and I hope they come out with some more levels. I'm finishing up my BS and starting my masters soon after and it will be in public health with the a focus of epidemiology. Will be waiting for more levels to be added..Version: 2.0.1

Good funI love this app, it's fun to do and a useful way to explain my job to my young nieces. Useful for teaching too, a fun intro to outbreak investigation..Version: 1.3.1

Really funI really enjoy this app its fun and you learn. I feel bad sometimes when playing games for long periods on my ipad because I feel I gain nothing from them. But this app is fun and you feel like you did something useful. I hope other agencies make apps like this..Version: 1.2

This game is better than fortnightTbh this game is amazing and I love it so much, hats off to the developers.Version: 2.5.1

Very fun!This game was very fun!.Version: 2.5.2

Limited chelation supplies in Mass Casualty IncidentI liked the 1st exercise but, before going on to the 3rd exercise I need to comment on exercise #2. In an MCI with limited supplies and irreversible effects from heavy metal poisoning, I would choose to treat patients with potential for greater survivability and quality of life. So I must respectfully disagree with a civilian CDC approach in favor of a field medicine approach..Version: 1.3.1

Worth a lookAs a teacher I'm always on the lookout for interesting apps/ games which pupils can work through and which encourage critical thinking and teamwork. This app starts with a good idea as most youngsters like the idea of solving things and the level of difficulty is about right for 13/14 yr olds. They can solve the outbreaks in a reasonable amount of time but are encouraged not to go for snap decisions but to discuss at each stage. I know it's asking a lot but it would be great if it were possible for the groups at the end of this app to have the facility to make up an outbreak for each other to solve using research on the internet..Version: 2.0

More please! It's a very nice application, but I'd love it if there were many more cases!.Version: 1.1

Fantastic gameI'm a 3rd year med student and this is a great game for anyone interested in medicine or epidemiology. I would have loved it at 13, still love it at 24. Could be even better, though, if allowed to quarantine people, and maybe change the gameplay to make it a little less linear.Version: 1.2

BEST GAME!Love This Game But There Are No Spacial Plagues To Stop.Version: 2.5.2

Great App!! Disease Detective 24/7!! 😊👍I really enjoy this app and I hope they keep the new cases coming! A very fun insightful educational game, it makes you feel like you're really helping solve the out break problem! My goal is to ace the case the first time around, Lol!.... I highly recommend this app, especially if you're in to learning and problem solving investigation!😉 Mina G..Version: 1.2

Do itIf more people "played games" like this versus the mindless candy crushing angry FarmVille birds our society would be in a better place. Thank you CDC for creating a fun learning tool that even challenges me a health care worker at times. Keep up the good work and your diligence.Version: 2.0.1

Excellent!I think this app is exceptional! Great way for individuals with or without medical experience to learn about infectious diseases. I highly recommend and applaud the CDC for having this information available in a fun to do format..Version: 1.2

Fun way to learnThis is a fun app for people who are interested in both how the CDC works to solve outbreaks and about some of the more interesting illnesses out there. It's a great way to learn and develop a level-headed approach to what to do when illnesses do break out. It also helps show why the CDC will do some of the stuff that they do – and why they sometimes don't do certain things that might seem – at first glance – to be a good idea. They've just released new level with even more scenarios, with the promise of still more on the way, so the game is something that will be ongoing..Version: 2.0.1

One of the best apps in historyThis was one of my first apps I got and the second I got it I loved it. It's educational, fun, full of mystery and challenges your data skills. I have not found another app like this..Version: 2.0.1

GreatIt's a great app. Very realistic. Makes you think about the many different ways diseases can spread and how to stop it..Version: 2.0.1

Just the right balance of game and intellectual stimulationI play this as a way to unwind right before going to sleep. When I find that I stop looking at the data and results of the investigation, I know it's time to close my eyes. One of the reasons I went into the field of public health was the intrigue of piecing things together and coming up with a plan for how to proceed. This app reminds me of that..Version: 1.3

App reviewTo play this game (CDC), you have to become a detective. There are stages on different games. There are about 8 questions or so on one stage. To clear the stage, you have to pick the right answer from 3 answers. There are clues to answer the questions, usually 2 paragraphs. You read the paragraphs carefully to solve problems. Before I played the game, I didn't really feel how serious the diseases are. But by playing this games, I knew right away that diseases can be caused by many things, and are spreadable so easily, it could be hard to stop it. After I played this game, I was able to know that traveling is the problem to most of the diseases. If no one would have traveled, the disease wouldn't spread. Due to one person, all people could get infected, I liked how I was able to restart the game if I wanted to. The first time I played, I got a lot of them wrong, but was able to restart it and get them all correct. Something that was unique to me was how it had a lot of writing. Other games mostly doesn't have writings. Even though I liked it, it may be better if they haven pictures that would help us figure out the problem rather than huge amounts of paragraphs. I would really recommend every one to read the passage very carefully. It is challenging when people don't read it carefully, and that's what happened to me. It may be better if people read it out loud because the game connects back to some of the past passages..Version: 2.1

Fun!I thought this game was really interesting and fun, but I am also a nerdy grad student interested in public health. It's well-made and easy to follow. My only pet peeve is that it's easy to accidentally answer a question before you finish all the clues, because the questions are down at the bottom of the screen where you can accidentally bump it..Version: 1.3.1

Excellent application of scienceRemoves the hype from the realities of infectious disease investigation. The user learns concepts of epidemiology, natural history of disease, and mobilization of investigative departments and public health agencies to develop containment strategies..Version: 2.0.1

Fun and informativeGood way to pass sometime solving outbreaks. A lot of really good information about different viruses and whist the CDC does. Could be a bit more challenging but definitely worth a shot..Version: 1.3.1

Fun yet educationalI wasn't sure I was going to like this app, but I'm surprised at how much I enjoy it. It's educational yet entertaining and teaches you about various outbreaks such as Anthrax. The app presents you with information and lets you choose one of three investigative options. Some of the options I thought were obvious were actually incorrect. After you choose an option you're given an explanation about what the correct choice is. The app seems fine for all age ranges, although it's unlikely young kids would be interested. I'd love to see more CDC apps like this in the future..Version: 2.0.1

EducationalThis app "dumbs it down" for non-medical students. In saying that, I wish there would be a few more stages. After I solve all of the disease outbreaks, it just gets repetitive and then I delete it. Please add more, then I'll put a 5th star to my rating..Version: 2.1

Good but confused...So I beat level one in a hour, and I'm not sure how to get to level two. If you could make an update with an explanation of how to get to level two, I would appreciate it. Also, make future levels harder, more personal, take longer, and be more widespread. The player could have to convince the CDC/public they needed more funding, and depending on how much they could convince them, the more workers, labs, etc. They would get. Also, you should be able to see what happens when it goes what you want and not get an INCORRECT thing that makes you do the right one anyway/alternate endings where the disease kills off all it's hosts or the player becomes infected and others rush to help with sometimes bad decisions. Thanks for reading!.Version: 1.3.1

I love it!I am 11 and I am on level 1, and a specialist. I've achieved the smarty pants, clever clogs, and loyalty achievements in just one hour! (which sounds pretty great, right?) I love mystery and I love detective work and my dream right now is to be a homicide or disease detective. Although I'm not great at this, I would say I'm pretty good, and this dream of mine will definitely take time and professional training for it to be done, and I know I can become what I wanna be. I can practice more and more with this wonderful app, and I enjoy using it as well. It would also be great if you added more levels, because I am way too addicted to this and I'll be done with everything in the blink of an eye. OH, and it would also be useful if this app was available on iPhones, because if I can't take my iPad everywhere I go, I would like to use my phone to use the app too. (I've shown that at 11 years of age I am mature enough to own an iPhone. Don't shoot me!) Anyway, I enjoy this app highly and I hope you take my ideas into consideration. Thank you, Kattie G..Version: 2.0.1

Great start...The interface is great. The initial three cases are representative but not terribly challenging. The app may provoke interest in novice learners, but this could be a great tool for grad students, Environmental Health specialists that would work in an outbreak investigation and so on....historical cases to help tell the CDC story may be useful as learning tools as well. Thyroid contamination in meat packing, waterborne outbreaks, even Dr Snow's initial case.....Version: 1.0

Great game. This game is a great way to learn. It forces you to solve problems using schema and knowledge given to you, great for people who like logic puzzles. It simultaneously manages to be fun, and tell a good story. I would say that you wouldn’t need an iron plated stomach to enjoy. Though this game is a great time passer, there’s one thing that keeps it from getting a true 5 star. The replay-ability factor is very low, due to it being a puzzle game. When you finish both Level 1 and 2, you’re pretty much done with the app, unless you want to show it to a friend or try and solve the puzzles again. Honestly, good for puzzle lovers, but barely replayable. The only reason you would play it again is to get a good score. But this game is satisfactory, and as so, I give it a 4/5..Version: 2.5.1

A great way for me to learn. As someone only slightly interested in medicine and virology, this app’s gamification of learning had taken that slight interest and kindled it into a great flame of knowledge. Would recommend..Version: 2.5.1

Try ItI am a college grad applying to get into a masters in public health program to study epidemiology. I've read so much about epidemiology that some of the case studies used in the app were familiar but I still loved every single thing about this app. I learned so much from it. I'm happy to say I hope this app has given me an edge and a taste for my future career..Version: 1.3.1

Awesome gameAwesome game. Really interesting to learn about epidemics, and even past epidemics and the actions that we're taken for them as well. Also helps you learn how to do different things, like read a certain graph..Version: 2.0.1
