✓ Where's the pinyin?As an English speaker living in China I want to use this app. It looks great, works smoothly and connects well. However, there is one MAJOR flaw. If I translate from English to Chinese, there is no pinyin translation. If I need to translate something, it's very unlikely I will know the characters. ✓ Pinyin lag after updateHello, I love this app, it is truly helping me on my journey to learn Chinese and live and communicate with my neighbors. But the most important function for me has started to fail since the update 3days ago. Now when I type in a word, I no longer get pinyin for the definition. So I can’t read what those characters are, or how to pronounce them. I will give three stars for now but once the bug is fixed it’s for sure a 5 star product. Excellent up until this update. ✓ Everything’s wrongThis most recent version freezes my phone constantly. Even when I minimize the app the home screen also freezes. My phone freezes every time I use the app. At least two or three times before I’m able to finish translates. The off-line translation doesn’t work. And when translating photos like a screenshot all you must swipe the screenshot away before using the import image button. All iPhones place the screenshot at the bottom left. So why don’t you move the import button already. It’s just lazy programming. And last the interface changes you guys have made only make it more difficult to use..Version: 7.12.1

✓ What happened to the copy button?This app is (was) really good, and was my go-to translation app for many years in China. I rely on it to translate English into Chinese, which I can then paste into other apps (such as taobao). For some reason the latest version removed the “copy” button for easily copying translated text, and it’s not formatted well to do a long press, drag and copy (which wouldn’t be as convenient anyway). Still a good translator but that loses half the functionality for me, so I will be switching to another app until it is fixed..Version: 10.0.1
✓ Best function removed :(Prior to the latest update, copied text would appear immediately, when the "Enter your text..." field was selected. This made it very easy to translate text copied from another app, or to "back translate" (I always check my Chinese translation by translating it back to English). Please restore this critical function 🙏 While it is missing, I'm using less preferable apps. But at least they don't require as many actions to translate copied text..Version: 10.0.1

✓ Terrible UpdateI used to use this app on a daily basis because it loaded faster than any other translator app and also took the least amount of steps to translate images. Now you have to do an extra step to translate images and it is unorganized. Now you have to paint over the text before translating it in an image and a heading comes up showing the translation instead of on the actual image making it hard to know which specific line of text translates to what sentence..Version: 10.11.0
✓ Baidu Translate used to be a great app...But now, with this latest update, it has become fairly useless. I used to use this app because I live in China and try to learn to speak, write and read Chinese. What was great about previous versions is, you could write characters into the app and it would provide you with the pinyin. It was the only app that did this and was so useful for learning Chinese. Now this feature has been removed. I hope the developers put this feature back soon..Version: 6.17.0
✓ Bring the Pinyin back!!!I’ve been using this app for years now, and it’s great. With the new update however there is no pinyin. Or if there is, it’s nowhere I can find. They’ve basically changed this app so it’s only good for chinese-speakers, whereas I am an English speaker who wants to know how to say things in Chinese. ✓ New update has issuesThe app was beautiful and worked great, but recently with the new update it no longer makes it possible to view translations in Pin-Yin. It used to be, that when you would enter a few characters in Chinese to be translated from "Chinese to English" it would give you the translation in English. Then if you reversed the options "English to Chinese" with the characters still in place, it would show you the Chinese characters and also show you the pin yin. Now there's no way to see the pin yin!! I was using this everyday to study Chinese. Now it is completely useless without allowing me to use the Pin yin as an aide. SO DISAPPOINTED. But unfortunately some of the new updates have taken away the function that would read the Mandarin out loud. This would help improve my pronunciation and ability to learn Mandarin. Also the function that makes the words very large. Now when I try to communicate with the elderly I can’t play the Mandarin and they can’t read it, as it’s too small. I miss this a lot. ✓ Gets the job done, but poorly designedI was looking for a reliable machine translating app that would translate from English to Cantonese. This app gets the job done but the app interface is super confusing and half of it is in Chinese. I don’t know why Chinese companies can never design user interfaces properly, especially when they have to do it in English. If this app was designed by a company based in any other country, these problems would not occur. Also, I’m guessing that the company is not even going to read the reviews in English because they don’t know English.
