In fact, I now follow the husband/wife team of Pocket Fuel on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and their blog. The Milanis are an inspiration through their work here in the app, but also as a living testimony to His power and love, and a demonstration of faith in His plans. Who wouldn’t want to live out the Great Commission is such a beautiful way? There have been some subscription hiccups (still occurring, as of this July 12, 2014 review), but like a microcosm of the Christian walk, I know and have faith that the best is yet to come, and will not be so easily shaken and offput due to some temporary technical difficulties. I would honestly slack off reading the Bible and praying and strayed from God, but this app but me back on track. But, recently the photos have been repeating themselves so I've been getting the same devotion every day. And now I don't like it so much and am considering deleting the app. If this is your first time downloading the app and you've never seen the devotions before then I highly recommend downloading this app! Or anything? If this were a memoir from a president or your favorite celebrity you wouldn’t question payment at all. It’s a tough topic but sometimes people actually work hard in what they do and they find themselves working hard within the church and some positions deserve compensation. These one stars seem kind of “casting-the-first-stone”-ish haha. So, yes. I originally followed pocketfuel on Instagram, and was so excited when I heard they were coming out with an app. I downloaded it the day it came out and it has been such a blessing. The devotions are almost always exactly what I needed and it's great to be able to go back and read old ones again. They have helped motivate me and others have even changed my perspective on some things in my life. I had the wonderful opportunity to work at a Christian summer camp this past summer and shared many of the devotions with my coworkers during our morning devotions every day. A few of them really impacted our lives and helped us to get through a rough week, or helped us celebrate the great week we were having. ✓ Avid User for over 7 yearsI have been using the DVO app for over 7 years since I’ve been back in NYC. I’ve used the app on many occasions to share with friends and strangers. I’ve found that on some days and weeks, the message speaks directly to me. However, lately there has been a change and it has felt less prophetic and biblical and more a bit systematic. As a user for over 7 years, I’m aware that it could just be me. But from reading the other reviews, I’ve been thinking maybe not. I encourage the writers to continue to write because you are helping many people around the world. If possible, dig deeper. Don’t worry about being controversial and being more like Jesus when it comes to your beliefs. Truth is... I’ve been in church since I was born. I’ve been a christian since I was 9 years old. Now I am 40, gay and black. I don’t quite “belong” in any church because of my sexual orientation and color. But that has and will never stop me from belonging to Jesus. I love that I can easily upload the scripture graphic to FB or Instagram to encourage others and I love the word- it's not just baby food! ✓ Great devotional with one issueHey team. I love what you’ve created I just have one bit of feedback. It wasn’t clear to me that tapping the book icon concealed actual written devotionals. Maybe consider using a call to action instead. “Read” Maybe it could say that just the first time and after the user has interacted a couple times you could pair it down to just the icon. I love the daily inspiration DVO gives and it's usually pretty applicable to my current places in faith. I am also a very visual person so the beautiful artwork that accompanies every Devo is awesome. I love to screenshot them and use them as backgrounds on my phone as well as send them to my friends. I also have to mention that their customer service is AMAZING!!! When my app was having issues, I emailed them and someone got right back with me. ✓ Thank YouI am so happy the bugs were fixed and I am able to enjoy my daily devotional with this app. Not only are the scriptures food for my soul but I can relate to the little nuggets the writer shares of his experiences and I find encouragement. In addition, the pictures are current and I save my favorites to use as wallpaper on my phone. I'm still learning to navigate my way around the new features but I'm happy with all the new updates except for the name change. I prefer "Word". ✓ Best App I have ever purchased!!I am sitting here in tears because God has spoken to me through your app. Everyday I enjoy the devotional but today it was different. I was struggling through the day fighting back thoughts of self-loathing, depression, and feeling like I just wanted to give up. In fact, I was almost going to by pass the message today because my mood just did not seem in the right place to receive. God tugged at me and said just read. I did. It was my favorite verse, Romans 8:31 which is also my birth month and date. The devotional seemed as though it was meant solely for me at that exact moment of despair.
