Calca is a powerful symbolic calculator that gives you instant answers as you type. It solves equations and simplifies complex expressions - it's a computer algebra system in your pocket! It's also a rich Markdown text editor so that you can explain your ideas alongside your calculations.

✓ The calculator on steroids I never knew I neededLike the paper strip in the Mac OS calculator but with a built in time machine that lets you travel back, fix your mistakes and see how your life may have been different. I downloaded this a year ago and fumbled around with it once every few months but never quite understood the point. Today it solved my problem and now that I understand how to use it properly I’ll use it every day. I will miss the debates over rounding rules I have with my colleagues several times a week, I fear this will reduce them to short, calm conversations.
