✓ Don’t subscribe!!!!!I renewed my subscription to Tennis Channel Plus a few weeks ago and though they changed me every time I try to log on it says my subscription has expired. I have deleted and reinstalled the app on multiple devices as well as clearing my caches and cookies but still unable to log in. Trying to reach anyone to help me sort this out is impossible, the contact us link on the help page will sent an automatic email that will tell you to consult the help page!?!? The chat service is a bot and there is no phone number. I also tried contacting them through their Twitter and Instagram accounts to no avail. Apple should remove this app from the App Store as they are robbing people..Version: 9.1.0
✓ Don’t be naïve. Every tennis match is not available.If you’re naïve enough to purchase this app, thinking that you’ll be able to see every tennis match during the majors, my condolences. NBC and its infinite lack of wisdom has decided to split the coverage between Tennis Channel the NBC network and Peacock. ✓ Why update an app mid-tournament?App has never been great but at least it doesn’t immediately spoil the results of the day’s matches (looking at you ESPN and NBC sports). Now the dev updated mid-French Open and the scrub forward does not work. Obvious issue if you don’t have 3-4 hrs to watch a match in a single sitting, jump from device to device or just want to skip the warmup or rain delay. Haven’t tried scrub backward, I’m too scurred after hitting 10 sec forward a million times..Version: 7.4.4
✓ Just turned on channel to see pickle ball. NOOOOOWhat in the actual xxxx!? NO. Tennis channel. Not pickle ball. Table tennis. Badminton. Volleyball. Why is this happening? I pay extra to my cable service provider to have the tennis channel and I also pay the tennis channel plus to have more access to tennis and I can’t believe my eyes. PLEASE for the love of the tennis gods - get that nonsense off your programming. There’s like 4 tennis tournaments happening right now - unacceptable. Also super annoyed they’ve decided to ad commercials after the first game of the set - come on. You have plenty of money. ✓ Crashes often or won’t load contentThis app crashes consistently on my iPad when I try to watch Tennis Plus matches. Very frustrating. When it does work, I often get the spinning icon and the match never actually loads. I use it on reliable, 1 gig internet at home, and this is the only app on my iPad with these problems. Considering this is similar behavior to the AppleTv TC app, I am considering cancelling my TC Plus membership. Very disappointed..Version: 7.4.5
✓ Worst app everIf I could give no stars I would. It’s great to watch the match but it keeps telling me to subscribe when I have a subscription already. It also charged me 3 times and it never worked. Finally got it to work after $300 of subscriptions for the French open…now I just went in to watch a match and it asked me to subscribe again! ✓ No Chromecast?I like the app but it would be better if there was an option to use chromecast to connect to a tv and not just apple airplay. Using AirPlay does not allow me use my phone without the tv changing to whatever I am watching on my phone. ✓ Terrible stream qualityFor almost $120 per year the quality of the streaming both in-app and on my smart tv is totally unacceptable. Appalling that this is the primary source of coverage for much of the tennis season. The one redeeming quality (and the reason for 2 stars instead of 1) is that their customer service made it very easy to get a refund because I canceled within 24 hours of starting my subscription. ✓ Just don’t botherYou will pay for TC plus but…if you have a Samsung tv, you are out of luck. Error codes galore with nothing but excuses from their “support” department. And don’t bother asking for a refund either, unless you enjoy snarky denials. By the way, if you think you, as a TC plus subscriber, will be able to watch the good stuff (live/current matches), you are wrong. You need a cable provider to watch that content! ✓ New Version Does Not Work WellThe new update does not allow you to switch between matches any longer. The older version would not allow you to see a match unless you chose the #1 channel and then switched to the match you want to watch. With the new version updated this week I can successfully get into any match I would like to watch, but I cannot change that match from the iPad screen. ✓ Horrible!I totally agree! What were they thinking taking away the ability to fast forward and rewind a match? I have also paused a match and then when I return to it I cannot get it to restart. Stuck on permanent pause! So many times I want to rewind and watch a point over or try to hear what the player said and now I can’t. ✓ Horrible horrible horribleThis app is horrible and there is no customer service. For as expensive as this app is, this is the worst quality and absolutely no assistance. I renewed my subscription but keeps prompting me to subscribe. I’ve followed the troubleshooting advice on the help page and it keeps referring you back and forth to the website or the app. If one doesnt work try the other one. What do I do if NEITHER ONE works. ✓ Negative StarsIf I could give this app negative stars I would. Out of all of the apps in the App Store, this has to be the worst one. DO NOT download this and pay for the service! The games freeze. Also, there is someone controlling the games so if you want to watch a specific game, tough luck. Some idiot is changing the games every ten seconds. ✓ Awful/Stay Away From This LemonDitto on the last reviewer. Loaded app and purchased a year subscription. Was happy to finally have a way since cutting cable to watch some tennis. Purchased during the Western and Southern tournament and had the same experience as other reviewers with it being cut off during the most exciting part of the end. Then, I trued to tune in to watch the US open, but app does not recognize my subscription account. The only way to get a hold of customer service rep is through their chat or email and they just disconnect when they can’t help you. They say they cannot find an email associated with your account, but they sure didn’t have any problem taking my money. I showed them a screen shot of proof of my purchase and they still couldn’t help saying they would get back to me by E-mail in up to 48 hours. Apple said they will put in request for a refund and I feel like that’s my only recourse. We’ll see what happens. Don’t waste your time or money on this stinker!!.Version: 9.1.0
✓ Glitchy and inconsistentIt’s great when it works properly, but an aggravating disaster when it doesn’t. Couldn’t log in on my iPhone, in fact it never even gave me a login option or link even after it confirmed that I have an active subscription. When I try to watch a match it says only available to TCPlus subscribers, but won’t let me log in. The in-app “customer support” is a joke, just a series of dead ends and forms to fill out that don’t seem to be submitted after pressing the submit button (neither confirms submission nor flags a problem or missing field, but just stays on the same screen after appearing to submit)..Version: 7.4.5
✓ Horrible updatePlease fix all the problems created by the latest update. Was about to come on here and detail them all but I see so many other people have so what’s the point??? App crashes, guide function doesn’t work properly, fast forward and rewind, it’s terrible now. When you don’t have cable and this is the only way you can watch live tennis or replay matches you’ve missed we need it to at least work properly with how much we’re paying for the service. The biggest issue is, that the app/streaming is half the time not working. On top of that when you try to submit a request via the help center the request is not going through. ✓ Worst Premium Service AroundThere are several things wrong with this app and service, but I am just going to focus on the big two. These should be big enough problems to convince you to look for other options. First, in many tournaments Tennis Channel decides to show the late rounds in their normal cable channel (which you can only get if you have certain cable companies) and those of us that pay for the premium Plus service all year are left stranded. This is infuriating, imagine watching your favorite player in the first few rounds only to end missing their matches later in the tournament. The second big problem is the unreliable service. Often either their app or their stream crashes and customers end up having to sit there trying over and over to watch the matches they paid for as frustration mounts. ✓ A gift for someone you hateThe Tennis Channel's big selling point is the French Open and they can't even deliver on that. Big matches are shown elsewhere (e.g., I came back home this afternoon looking forward to Tiafoe-Zverev only to discover that, rather than being able to stream it directly like with every other Slam's coverage on other networks, it was started on TC and then continued on Peacock, requiring another subscription.) It truly boggles the mind how they don't have a lineup of the day's matches, each of which has its own stream for watching live and later on demand. That's been the standard for 10 years everywhere else. They do deserve credit, though, for having an option to hide how long already-finished matches took. That's huge; other networks don't give you that option, probably in order to discourage people from watching on demand..Version: 9.1.0
✓ Worst app out thereI love tennis, and I was willing to pay for it. Unfortunately, this is more frustration than enjoyment. I think the pandemic showed Sinclair how much money they could make without actually sending broadcasters to matches so they decided to go the extra mile and not even have them broadcast from their homes/studio. Anyone who reads this, knows how boring it is to watch any kind of sporting event on mute. That’s what this is. As other posters have said, it will freeze and lag and kick you out at the most interesting point in the match and since there is no pause, rewind, or ff, you’ll never get to see what you missed. Do you wanna watch on demand? Don’t get booted out because you’ll have to watch the entire match all over again. I have had this app for several years, but this is the last year they are getting money from me and since you have to buy the Tennis Channel to get Tennis Channel plus, they’re gonna lose both of those subscriptions. We can all still enjoy the grand slams on ESPN where they DO have rewind, pause, fast forward and commentators for all their matches. ✓ Unbelievably HorribleI don’t think I’ve ever come across an app that is so bad that not only should I get my money back, I should also be awarded damages for the amount of frustration I’ve incurred from trying to use it. And the fact that a streaming service in the year 2022 has the nerve to put out on demand content without pause, fast forward, and rewind functionality is absolutely pathetic. ✓ Very disappointingThis has been the worst app I have ever used on my Apple TV. It freezes ,turns to an all black screen and becomes inoperable constantly. We have to keep deleting it, reinstalling it, re-logging in each time. No other app in our Apple TV library has these issues. I wish ESPN+ would carry all ATP and WTA matches. It's really is unfortunate we have to rely on Sinclair Broadcasting Company to watch most tennis matches. ✓ Cut out in TiebreakPaid for an annual membership. Disappointed that I can’t watch the majors on it because of other licensing agreements. Need a cable subscription to actually watch the tennis channel live feed. You can choose to watch individual matches which seems nice, until I was watching the Cincinnati Open Finals. It was delayed and they cut the delayed stream feed when the actual live match ended…so they ended coverage at 3-3 in the third set tiebreak… Will likely cancel my membership..Version: 9.1.0
✓ Fix Scrolling Option PleaseUsually I’m a big fan of Tennis Channel+ but this recent update somehow made scrolling through matches impossible! Please restore the scrolling ability as the only way you can fast forward through matches on the app is by exiting out of it (when you have the match in a pop up window on your screen) and then you can hit the “forward 15 seconds” button about 1,000 times to get the match where you want it. All other streaming platforms have the scrolling enabled, so this has to be a mistake?! Please restore! I would give it 5 stars if this bug is fixed - I mainly watch TC+ on my Roku and haven’t had any issues with streaming/scrolling on that platform (just on my iPhone & iPad)..Version: 7.4.5
✓ Still AwfulThis is the most unreliable streaming app I have ever used. Despite the most recent app update 2 weeks ago, the app crashes almost constantly when watching live streams. In fact, with the most recent update it is even worse. When watching a live stream match, the app will display a streaming error about every 5 minutes. Which kicks you out of the streaming, causing you to have to reload everything and miss the match. I am not exaggerating when I say every 5 minutes. ✓ ZERO Stars is not low enough for this app & serviceDON’T PAY FOR THIS SERVICE. It is literally run like a SCAM. They intentionally trap you with an annual service and sporadic content offering. Their content rights, technology platform are constantly lacking. In the unlikely case that the technical platform works when you want to watch tennis, there’s a good chance that the content won’t be available. WHEN this happens you’ll contact the Tennis Channel and they’ll tell you to reconcile with the App Store or your credit card company because they KNOW that it’s likely been 60 days since you subscribed and as a result all paths to reimbursement have expired. ✓ Bad to WorseThe other reviews really say it all, and just in the past week or so new 404 error issues have cropped up. The layout, being able to switch between matches in a tv guide format, is perfect, but constant streaming/buffering/freezing issues are infuriating. Being able to access women’s matches is crucial. What in the (every inappropriate slur in every language) is going on with this channel ? Why do they even have right to matches that are unavailable on Tennis TV?? ✓ Dysfunctional App and Poor ServiceIf I am going to pay for an app for the year, up front, I expect it to work. The app has so many glitches and inaccuracies. The schedule is not always accurate, you have to login in several times before the app “might” work, the app actually works about 10% of the time. It’s worse than hit or miss. It’s miss 9 times and actually works once. You cannot get in contact with an actual person. There is a chat service that is a bot and says it will forward you to a live person then there is an error message. The email listed has an auto reply that refers you to the char service that does not work and there is no customer service number. ✓ Waste of money, terrible appI have paid a lot of money over the year to subscribe to tennis channel plus, and my hit rate for the app actually working and letting me watch is less than 25%. ✓ Atrocious all-aroundWhy am I watching 15 second ads when flipping through channels after paying over $110? Why is this the least stable app around and crashes once every fifteen minutes at a minimum? Why is the graphic user interface horrible? I’ve had it in the past but did not renew, largely because of one issue. Like an increasingly large portion of the population … we cut the cord… years ago. No cable company. Just a streaming provided… in our case Fubo. Fubo offers Tennis Channel. So why isn’t it one of the options for regular Tennis Channel viewing. Having to bounce back and forth between application for Plus matches to Fubo for regular Tennis Channel matches was too clunky. As far as I know … Tennis Channel is the only channel stuck this far in the past. ✓ Overpriced and klunkyIt doesn’t have the basic pausing and rewinding functionalities during live streams, which is basically an industry standard now. For the price we are paying, it should have those functions at the minimum. Also I can’t watch replays of matches on my phone app even when I am at/around my house. ✓ This company is very sketchy, run away fast!The app is poorly programmed full of constant clitches. The app over promises access to big tournaments. Only some finals are offered. For Novak Djokovic’s finals the app freezes every time. Or his tournament final is not offered. Support was not helpful and snarky. Management ignored my concerns and sent a canned response that was hostile and full of legal language stating that they would not refund my money. Luckily I used PayPal and they got my money back. ✓ Absolutely TerribleThis is the worst app ever. I bought this for the French Open but is just frustrated and annoyed me. ✓ Literally the Worst App ever createdThis app is horrible! Every day I have to delete the app from Appletv and reinstall because when I open it, I can’t scroll or click to view any games or even the settings. I don’t know if I would’ve paid for the full year if I would’ve received a trial first, probably why they don’t offer one. When the app does work, it’s often glitchy. Video goes in and out a lot and if I try to go from one match to another to frequently, it stops working and I have to reinstall the app again. ✓ Couldn’t be worse if they triedThis is the most expensive streaming app we have and it is embarrassingly terrible. The app is incredibly unstable and they have dropped coverage mid match more times than I can count. Most recently was the final set tie break in the Cincinnati men’s final and they just ended coverage abruptly, so after 3.5 hours of watching we missed the end because of how terrible they are. ✓ ThievesThis app is a joke. They only let you sign up yearly so I bought a 109 dollar service to subscribe for tennis channel plus. Once in the app I clicked on the match I wanted to watch only for it to tell me I need to subscribe to watch, however when I click on the subscribe it says, this account is already subscribed. ✓ Not Worth It - Doesn’t Play Main MatchesYou can hardly ever watch main matches. You have to have a TV Provider to watch the primary stream on Tennis Channel. ✓ Concluded coverage w minutes remaining in FinalWay overpriced for limited streaming coverage with App only (no cable provider). During my year of service, the Tennis Cannel failed to cover many matches. But the most egregious was last night when, with minutes left in Cincinnati’s Alcaraz-Djokovic tiebreaker finale, my smart tv displayed “Play Has Concluded For The Day.” What!?!?!!!
