IFly EFB for Positive User Reviews

Start with iFlyI haven’t tried them all. I started with iFly and loved it so much that I never looked back. Sure, I read about the others time and again, but given the philosophy behind the intuitive interface and continuous improvement exhibited by the Adventure Pilot team, I could not find any sensible reason to fritter away my time trying to learn another more confusing system. I use it on an iPad, iPhone, and an iFly 740. They make it so easy to use and to share the data subscription across platforms and devices it is one of the easiest “go/no go” decisions I’ve ever been faced with..Version: 11.1.33

Everything you need for a great priceEasy to update and packed with features!.Version: 11.1.33

Have users this app for 6 yearsLove this EFB, it has never let me down. In 500 hrs of flight using my I pad mini. Very affordable and not as complicated as many other EFB,s.Version: 11.1.33

Easiest app to use, tried all the others hands down a winnerRetired commercial pilot, tried all other apps for use in my sportplane, easily the easiest to use in flight. Would be great to get sunset sunrise times in the app. Recommend highly..Version: 11.1.33

Stabile platformBeen using it for about 7 years. Works well for all my navigation. Wish there was a new option to buy 10 years with updates for through out at a discounted cost..Version: 11.1.33

Simple and WorksBeen using the app on iPad as well as iPhone since it was introduced. Just can’t beat the simplicity and ease of use. Set start and finish then rubber band your route wherever you need and waypoints are created as you go. I find that I use it on my phone most of the time as it gives me all the navigation data I really need and is easier to handle in the cockpit. App is packed with features and support and development is outstanding!.Version: 10.1.25

Great ProductI have used a few EFBs and this one wins the race. It’s simple yet intuitive, it’s very customizable and provides information without the need to enter different section. The price is fair and I enjoy the product. Navigated from Missouri to Florida with zero issue!.Version: 11.1.33

New UserEverything work great. Views and maps modes are good. I really like the vector mode. Weather display on vector mode is very easy to read. The Real View of airports is great for VFR into new fields. Makes finding grass strips easy. Data updates are easy and fast. I am using the North East full IFR. First downlaod took about 10 minutes. Last IFR update only took a few minutes. Does not have seamless charts, but that will be coming. More details to be added to the vector mode. I only see this app getting better and better..Version: 8.0.65

Simple, and that's a good thingThis is a very simple app with a relatively basic set of features. It doesn't have all the bells & whistles that Garmin Pilot and Foreflight have, but that's a good thing. It's perfect for, say, taking the Cub or LSA by yourself over to the next town for pancakes. The charts are razor sharp (I mean really, really nice) and the app is very easy to manipulate in flight. Despite its simplicity, the app still gives you all the information you need: TFRs, weather, SUAs, rubber-band planning, terrain warnings, flight-plan filing, etc. When flying the Beechjet under IFR into Atlanta with another pilot, I lean towards Pilot or Foreflight. But when flying VFR by myself at 100 knots, this is my go-to..Version: 9.3.24

Works wellThe low ratings by Canadians is a bit unfair. I am flying in SW Ontario and I knew exactly what I am getting and what not. Subscribers should do their homework. I also have Garmin Pilot on my tablet (for a lot more money) but, I prefer to use iFly... much easier to use..Version: 11.0.50

Very affordable and completeI tried ALL the popular EFB’s on their 30 day free trials. Back to back IFly was the easiest to use and significantly less money for comparable features. I have been using it for 3 years and have no reason to change. I am private SEL and helicopter..Version: 11.1.33

I tried em allI’m just getting to 100 hours and have tried all the major gps apps. I started with iFly and moved to Garmin, Foreflight, and several others. This app is very easy to navigate and has all the things I need at my experience level and a lot of room for me to grow. I do wish it had an Apple Watch companion but I guess you can’t have everything..Version: 10.3.52

Easy to use!Best moving map GPS software I have ever used! ForeFlight is waaayyyy to complicated to use in flight. This software changed the way I fly for the better!! I highly recommend every pilot use it!.Version: 10.1.25

Love iFlyI bought my iFly 700 in 2012 at OSH. Later I upgraded to the 740b. It has a bright screen that is easy to read. I particularly like the weather display and traffic. I have it on my iPhone and iPad also..Version: 11.1.33

ExcellentHave used ifly for years. Clear and easy to use with great customer service as well..Version: 11.1.41

Best in flight GPS appI've used all the others (Foreflight/Garmin/etc..) and none compare to iFly. The folks at Adventure Pilot are constantly innovating and adding app updates with more features. It's a top notch tool that does all it promises and more..Version: 8.3.44

Very Intuitive and Runs Well Even on Old HardwareI’ve been using this as a trial for about a month. I’m a student pilot and I’ve been using it in my flights. I’ve tried the following moving map GPS apps: Foreflight, FlyQ, Garmin Pilot, Airmate, and Wing X. Out of all of these iFlyGPS has been my favorite for several reasons. First, the layout and design of the app just makes sense to me. Everything is where I expect it to be and behaves the way I think it should. This alone is a huge selling point to me. Another thing that impresses me is that it runs well even on my old iPad Air 2. The other apps either aren’t supported or the old iPad cannot handle them. Something about how iFlyGPS’s design is just very efficient. Finally the app is very inexpensive and I see them running deals fairly often. I see they are designing a new system called iFlyEFB and they say if you pay for one you will get both. That’s nice as well. My only negative points for this app is that the buttons look like they are from Windows 3 and when scrolling around the app the terrain has to load in, however it is very quick. Neither of these points matter to me very much and I think I will buy this software over the others I have used. This is definitely my favorite and especially if you are a private pilot and don’t plan on going commercial this is everything you’d need..Version: 11.1.45

Excellent programGood program simple to use… safe, effective, and with many good features. Thanks.Version: 11.1.33

Great appI have tried most of the flying apps, this is the easiest one with a great price. It does all I want to do. I have been a subscriber since they first started. Steve.Version: 11.1.33

Solid and dependableProbably the best value out there…. With something very rare today. Support that will actually respond to your queries!.Version: 11.1.33

Totally satisfiedI’ve been using IFly since it came out. I fly several types of FMS for my work and also use ForeFlight. I still love IFly for the software design that is so incredibly user friendly. The updates are always well thought out. The customer service from Walter and crowd is unmatched in the industry..Version: 11.1.33

Prefer over ForeflightPlease update for full IPhone X screen resolution!.Version: 10.2.77

Does everything wellI use iflygps on a samsung tablet, the vfr version. it does everything I need and is very intuitive. The developers are responsive to requests for new features. To load new or update charts just take your tablet to anyplace that has wifi..Version: 11.1.33

Switched from ForeflightForeflight just had a really high price increase so after 4 years of using it, I needed an alternative. Gave iFlyGPS a try. After about 10 hours of using enroute im getting used to it. It is different. Some features i miss from FF but overall iFlyGPS is a very good product..Version: 11.1.45

Best bang for your buck! This is really an incredible resource. From the app to the dedicated 740b, you can’t go wrong. The functionality is great and the interface is really intuitive..Version: 11.1.33

Long timeI’ve used IFly for at least 10 years now. I love the simplicity of it. It’s perfect for my pleasure flying in my Wittman Tailwind. Thanks IFly!.Version: 13.0.30

Best & most intuitiveHave used ForeFlight, WingX, Flight Plan GO and iFly is the best. Works well on an iPad mini with Stratux for ADSB input..Version: 11.1.33

Great appBeen using it for over a year. Can use on any platform and have it on 4 devices at a time. I’m in the Toronto area. Covers all of Canada I fly in..Version: 10.3.57

It's a superior productThis is a superior product to most on the market! I have been using the IFLY -700 for 4 years and have Beta tested this IPAD version for several months . You will not believe the user friendly interface, ease of useful features and customer service and access to top executives at Adventure Pilot.. This will be your flight planning and moving map program for the rest of your life!!!.Version: 8.0.65

Best Flying Software on the iPadI have been using tablets and various applications/programs for years professionally. When I fly for fun though, I use iFly GPS. It is amazingly intuitive. It works the way you would expect it to work. It makes planning flights simple. It’s greatest strength, where it excels over the others, is how usable it is in flight. It is the very definition of easy to use. I have been flying with iFly GPS for two years in my GA aircraft. I wish I could take it to work in the bigger plane they pay me to fly..Version: 10.3.57

Great productI bought the first model when it first came out. Model 400, and have upgraded as newer models came out. I use it to drive my auto pilot. Make many trips to New England from Florida. Easy to use. Great product!.Version: 11.1.33

The best General Aviation AppI have used pretty much all the aviation efb/nav apps out there. For me iFly is the best to use for GA flying. I fly formation and aerobatics for most of my GA flying. This app brings the most used/desired information within one touch. iFly GPS allows an airport’s, CTAF, Tower, and/or ATIS along with runway/pattern information and wind within one quick touch. Other apps have the same information but you have to dig in different places or zoom in on the sectional chart to get the critical information. The other feature that sets this app apart is the complete customization you can do, any instrument or widget can be personalized and place exactly where you want. I like things a certain way, and iFly allows me to do that. Great work and cant wait until the EFB update comes out !.Version: 11.1.33

IFlyI have an IFly 720 and have IFly loaded on my iPad and phone. It has everything you need to navigate, all the information needed on airspace and air traffic. All my ADSB info shows up real time. Really like flying with it. David Lee.Version: 11.1.33

Fantastic Addition to the iFly FamilyIn a word Amazing! Easy to use, high res maps, outstanding instrument display, connects to most stand alone ADSB units, very intuitive. I have been privileged to have worked as a beta tester during the development and really appreciate the effort that has gone into the product. It is a great, useful tool to add to any cockpit! Looking forward to landscape mode but the system is totally fine as is! Fast, friendly service and a very knowledgable staff makes the installation and interface a snap! Keep up the great work!.Version: 8.0.65

Used all of the EFBs, this is the bestEverything you need and very easy to use.Version: 11.1.33

Excellent for in cockpit use!The customized placement and size and colors of the data fields allow me to match my panel mounted GPS system. But what’s even better is the larger fields allow these older eyes just a quick glance to easily determine Next Waypoint, ETA, ETD, etc. etc.. And especially the “ASD-B IN” large traffic icons are -so- much better than any of the major competitors. My wife loves it as much as I do, and she is not a pilot! Keep up the great work IflyGPS!!.Version: 11.1.33

Amazing in air app! This is a fantastic app from a company who is focused on consumer satisfaction. I use their hardware navigation (iFly 720) and now the iPad app. Each has its advantages but as far as software usability for a pilot, this app shines. I've had a ForeFlight subscription for years and it's a good preflight planner...but in the air, iFly wins hands down. Very intuitive and the real view feature makes taxiing mistakes virtually impossible. Geo referenced approach plates without an extra charge is another plus.. If you haven't tried it, you should..Version: 8.0.65

Intuitive, powerful, cockpit friendly, great flight planning and filling.Wonderful app. Bought it to backup my Dynon unit (also great), and now find myself using iFly as my primary..Version: 11.1.33

IFly GPS UserI bought an iFly GPS handheld the very first year they came out. Their current hand held and the app still amaze me with everything they do now compared to my first one which was really good at that time. Running the app now on an iPad flying with both ifr and vfr data bases . I’m using an external ADSB in and WAAS receiver mounted on the glare shield. No issues, does it all. Everything you need at your fingertips and no worthless gee whiz stuff you don’t. Joe R ATP CFI CFII.Version: 11.1.33

Great ProductI have been using the IFLY GPS APP for the last four months and couldn’t be happier. It really works well with my Stratux ADS-B..Version: 10.3.57

IFlygosGreat information. Very user friendly. I love this device..Version: 11.1.41

Easy to useSuper easy to use in the cockpit -- even in turbulence!.Version: 10.3.57

Why I fly iFlyEase of use is amazing and it’s intuitive It has everything you need without user overload. It’s uncomplicated. I fly a 1975 V35B with original KX170B nav com. My main source of navigation and information is my iFly on an iPad and my iPhone as back up I have the iFly actual nav unit which will be installed as well in my radio stack soon. Pilot and Foreflight are good, but for the reasons above, give me iFly. And their support is also amazing. Larry W..Version: 11.1.41

This is a great EFB! Love it!This is an outstanding EFB! I’m going to let my ForeFlight subscription expire. The synthetic traffic on the latest release is awesome! I hope to soon see the ability to use IFly with Xplane and/or FSX Steam. The ability to the use the app in a sim environment would be great..Version: 10.2.77

Fast, simple and easy to useYou will not get lost using iFly GPS. Others are simply slow in painting on the screen or too confusing but when using iFly you will find it intuitive and consistent user experience. Map updates always work, they include the necessary frequencies, approach plates, fuel prices and FBO details at a finger tip. What I like the best is the flight history allowing me to double check my pilot log book entries and when upgrading from one device to another the history follows me around. I wish there where more global maps such as beyond the Bahamas and the ability to allow pilots to enter FBO and airport information which could be viewed by other pilots such as fee’s or FBO’s to use or avoid. Pilots like to help each other and this feature would be a hit on day one, especially when flying international. Also being able to submit e-APIS details from iFly would be another great bonus. Works perfect with Stratux ADS-B every time. And you can’t beat the price. There is never a worry about adding on to the subscription and the company is beyond fair for renewals. I use the app on an iPad mini and iPhone. The IPhone mainly to plan flights when I am curious and the iPad mini for actual flying. The iPhone comes in handy as an immediate backup in flight in a pinch. It has saved me once already. Don’t look any further as this is simply the best out there..Version: 11.1.33

Like having a copilotWhen paired with an ADS-B system the configurable audio alerts for traffic, airspace, and terrain really make this a stand-out EFB for VFR flying. Without audio alerts one has to essentially include the screen of an EFB in one's scan. With audio the frequency of looking at the screen reduces to whatever is needed to cross-check course. I no longer use my copy of WingX because it is too demanding of my visual attention..Version: 10.1.25

Ifly IflyI have six gps units that I use. 5 are Garmin including a still functioning195. The sixth one is an Ifly several generations old. When the going gets tough out comes the Ifly (actually it is in the plane all the time). Bigger screen, more information that I need right now, easy to use in almost every respect. And a HELLUVA price for so much power. Makes me wonder why everybody doesnt use Ifly. Great value, great tool. John L.Version: 11.1.33

Great ProductI have been using both, iFly and ForeFlight, I probably won't renew ForeFlight this year. iFly just does everything I need and very user friendly!.Version: 11.1.45
