VoiceMap Audio Tours for Positive User Reviews

Let’s Wait & SeeWas excited to download the app. Had never heard of anything like this & it had great reviews. Downloaded & then the trouble started. App kept crashing. Deleted and reloaded twice. Would get past a page or 2 and crash again. Rebooted phone & waved my magic wand and was finally able to actually start a tour. Well, it started…about 6 blocks ahead of where it showed us on the map. Took awhile and some more feats of technology knowledge but we finally synced us and the app. Lastly, directions would verbally instruct you away from the onscreen map & leave you hanging. Went back to following just the map and the descriptions began again. The tour was great. Very informational and I look forward to trying another location. I just hope I’ve exorcised all the glitches..Version: 9.0.8

Great for self guided tours in various citiesThis has been a great app to use as you travel to different cities. It gives you enough information for each of the different stops to understand and you can always take deeper on your own if you want. It’s a pretty leisurely tour and the great thing is you can stop and take in a site or even talk to locals. At one point in Charleston I stopped and helped a lady take some groceries in and actually got to go inside the building that the tour was talking about. What a cool experience that I would never of gotten doing a normal “tour“.Version: 8.2.7

A valuable travel experienceI did the tour of York, which I highly recommend to anyone who wants to get the most from their visit to this beautiful, historic city. The guide provides meaningful insights into important areas of the city, some of which you may have just walked by! You can do the tour at your own pace, stopping, as the guide suggests, for a tea or a glass of something stronger whenever you need a break. Best of all, the tour doesn’t have to be done in one go. You can do as much as you want and then pick up where you left off, even the next day. An altogether fantastic way to have a guided tour the way you want it..Version: 10.3.0

Stonehaven tourFantastic self guided tour, full of interesting facts about the town. Lovely local Scottish accent gives authority to the narration. GPS location is precise and allows you to put your phone away and just enjoy being guided along through your earphones. Voice maps will be my go to app for walking in the future..Version: 10.2.3

Great and a SuggestionReally enjoying the London tours so far. Suggestion: it would be great to be able to like/heart several tours to display in my list. There are so many and a lot of scrolling to try and choose..Version: 8.2.7

Interesting ToursI’ve used voice map for several tours now. I have found them all interesting and different than the “tour guide” tours you would otherwise receive. The GPS enabled feature is awesome! Only drawback is that they are still building out their inventory of tours. So, there may not be a tour in the location you want..Version: 10.2.3

Very interesting with clear concise explanations.I enjoyed this walking tour very much.. It was very interesting with clear concise explanations. I would have loved for it to continue and to see more..Version: 8.2.1

Events to be understood need to be connectedThis series of stories about buildings is great as far as it goes. But I wish the guide author had connected the dots. Events happen over time and the lack of a chronology makes the events less comprehensible. A walking tour is not able to replace a history book. But it can connect the dots better..Version: 8.2.7

Good app with potential to be excellentLet me to start off by saying that functionality wise, this is a very exciting app. The audio synced to location works well and it’s an exciting way to explore a city on your own if you don’t wish to do an organized group walking tour. The tours I took through this app in Granada, Spain completely enhanced my trip to the city taking me to places I wouldn’t go on my own and giving me a ton of great information in the history of the city. That said, I found that the tours for other cities I used the app in (Seville and Madrid) were much less successful. This app runs on free lance content and it’s missing a lot of basic walking tours for popular tourist cities, and some of the tours it does offer for those cities are too niche to be appealing for most users. Hopefully this will change in the future if the app continues to attract creators but right now it’s missing some key content..Version: 10.2.3

BrilliantExactly what I needed to explore new places... affordable tours, keeps you flexible and independent of large groups. From 20min to 90+min walks. Great for a business trip with little time in the evening or vacation trip you want to enjoy at your on pace....Version: 5.0.8

Vienna HolocaustI was a little unsure about this app, I had never used it before. I downloaded the tour and shared an airpod with my husband. It’s brilliant, we followed the directions to the start point and off we went! The app knows exactly where you are and starts and stops when you do, very clever. Can’t wait to use it again next time we do a city break..Version: 8.2.7

Brilliant and grim insight into Aberdeen’s history.Brilliant and thoughtful insight into Aberdeen’s history. Takes you off the beaten track. Down alley ways and past some great street art . I had to pause and take a breath from the many grim, but highly entertaining tales. At the same time as listening to the history we enjoyed seeing modern day Aberdeen life. 5 stars!.Version: 10.2.3

Great tour!Precise, easy to follow directions and a really fun,fact-filled narrative. It took us about 2 hours to do, but we paused several times to duck into wine stores, look around the farmers’ market, see the inside of Notre Dame de Dijon, etc. We decided to start our three-day stay in Dijon with this tour and we’re glad we did! Dave, Lausanne.Version: 10.1.3

Great support and great tour of ViennaI recently used the app for a tour of Vienna. The app worked well and the tour was very interesting. More importantly, when I first tried to download the tour some sort of glitch happened and it did not appear on the app. I emailed the developer and he sorted it out for me immediately - very responsive support..Version: 5.0.2 (Dubai)

Visit to LudlowThe tour was easy to follow and included some really interesting snippets of information about the town. The narrator’s voice was pleasing and his description flowed smoothly as we moved from point to point. The length of the tour was just about right and drew attention to many historic features. A really enjoyable walk..Version: 11.1.1

Amazing walking tourReally loved the best of Bordeaux.Version: 9.1.5

Wonderful! What a well-organized and pleasant app for taking a nice, leisurely walking tour. I used my tour to walk around Inverness. My initial doubts were swiftly assuaged as soon as the walk began. The tour guide is very amiable and knowledgeable. The maps are easy to follow. You can pause or linger at a site of interest as long as you like and then pick up the tour where you left off. I learned a lot about the beautiful city of Inverness. I highly recommend this app!.Version: 10.2.3

ExcellentI downloaded this for the tour of Chania, Greece. It provided an excellent route and narration, picking up where we were and providing stories along the way. This is a great way to see the town, explore beautiful streets we’d otherwise miss and learn about the history, all at our own pace. Will use again and highly recommend..Version: 8.2.7

Great When You’ve Found the Right OneThe tours themselves have been excellent. Well paced and really feels like you’ve got a great guide by your side. The app itself needs a little work— primarily the search function for find the tour that’s best you. If you know EXACTLY what you want to see (a particular neighborhood or historical site), it’s easy— but if you’re trying to find something interesting in a city generally, it’s impossible. There seems to be no way to narrow down interests in a popular location/ big city to discover something new..Version: 8.1.7

Best audioguide app!I did two audio guides using this app in Paris, France and I loved it..Version: 10.0.4

Excellent and ideal!Really informative - we saw the whole town at our own pace - it picks up where you are by go’s and starts talking so no need for controlling the pace. We stopped randomly as well - really ideal for a fabulous, easy tour. Cannot recommend highly enough. 👏👏👏.Version: 8.1.7

Roman tours (2) were excellentThis is a high product, very well designed and executed. We purchased 2 different Rome tours and we enjoyed both of them immensely. Considering the price to hire a private guide, the value for price of the individual tours is excellent..Version: 9.1.5

Loved the tour!Enjoyed the interesting history. Lots of cute shops and places to eat or snack. Nice stop at the pioneer living museum where we panned for gold and used the restroom. We spent 4-5 hours enjoying all the sights and didn't make it to the last stop: the beautiful truss bridge, though we did drive by it and listened to the last of the audio in the car. I like how the app lets you go at your own pace and repeat or advance as needed. We didn't bring headphones but they would have been helpful due to the street noise. Also be careful at some of the busy crossings!.Version: 9.1.1

Can’t recommend this enoughDuring a short visit to Barcelona, we did the bus tour and I also downloaded this walking tour. I cannot recommend it highly enough. It was informative, easy to follow and huge fun! If you took a wrong turn, it was easy to get back on track. You can stop the tour at any time, if you fancy a coffee or something a bit stronger, and then restart when you want. It was humorous but he had obviously done his homework and showed the sights of Barcelona that no one knows about. We were lucky with the weather and in February, it wasn’t that busy so we had enough time for photo ops without being bombed! Lol!!! Definitely worth the money and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to take their time and see the bits of Barcelona that the tourists don’t usually see..Version: 9.1.4

FabulousSuch a great way to see Verona and I loved that the voice was that of a local! GPS calibration and directions were excellent.Version: 8.2.7

Great audio tour appFantastic app, seems pretty reliable and offers good tours. Some of the tour prices are a little high but it's been invaluable. Biggest area for improvement is it needs more content!.Version: 8.2.7

Great info, convenient format. This is the second Voice Tour we did, they were both great although this one in Montmartre was harder to follow as the gps struggled among the tall buildings, so the blue dot denoting our location jumped around. The other technical issue is my husband shared his link so we should now get a free one on his account seeings as I used his link to buy this one and we have not received it. That being said, we loved the information, stories and history and preferred being able to pause it if we wanted drinks, photos or bathroom stops, rather than have a live guide. Excellent concept..Version: 10.1.3

ExcellentDid a tour of Shrewsbury using VoiceMap. App worked faultlessly, guiding us round, was patient when we stopped for coffee, gave many interesting details with clear diction. It’s also a great feature that you’re given a full transcript as well..Version: 11.0.0

Easy to use with great infoThe app is easy to use. I like that you can submit your own VoiceMap and hope other tourism boards/cities get on board to add more. The GPS was accurate and easy to follow. Nice features like pocket mode helps save battery life. Sharing your promo code with others gives you both a free tour..Version: 4.0

Impressive! Very well done ...Very impressed ... much better than I expected. Only did one in Prague so far but very good narration and learned many things we would otherwise not have even seen. GPS is erratic in the midst of buildings on all sides so frequently lost the location. It’s easy enough to select the next story though. Although a reverse direction option would be fantastic. Will be using again this weekend and then in Italy..Version: 5.1.0

Great valueWe definitely would of missed most of the points of interest had we not had this..Version: 9.1.1

York city tourFabulous look into York’s past history. Beautifully narrated by James. Would definitely recommend as can stop tour at any time for a coffee and a rest or pop in one of the many lovely shops along the way!! ⭐️.Version: 7.1.6

Really enjoyableReally informative and enjoyable, had a wonderful stroll at our own pace listening to a guided tour, narrator has a beautiful Italian accent which was lovely to listen too along the way..Version: 10.1.1

Don’t really keep your phone in your pocket! We have used Voice Map a few times and there is no indication when you get off course. You must keep an eye on it and there is no direction indicator. You must walk a bit and see if you are right. Every time you push “pause” there is a spiel that gets very irritating! We love the concept and will keep using it. When you want to resume your walk after a pause, it would be an asset to give walking directions to the point chosen. I go to Apple Maps..Version: 9.0.0

Wish we’d found VoiceMap sooner!Traveling through Europe, we are loving this. Great tours and directions. We had looked for similar audio tours a couple years back while traveling in New Orleans and had no luck. This is EXACTLY what we’d wanted then and briefly considered designing our own app to fill the void. You’ve done the job well!.Version: 10.3.0

VoiceMap saved the dayWanted a tour of Vyšehrad in Prague but too late to book a guided tour. Searched and found Jana on VoiceMap. Excellent experience! Jana’s audio tour was fabulous! The VoiceMap app performed flawlessly. Loved how the audio only activated when we were a few metres from the point of interest. Without Jana and VoiceMap, we would have had some nice visual experiences but would have missed out on learning all of the history and some hidden features of the site..Version: 10.2.3

TourMapperWe took the Cuitadella tour in Menorca and thought the App and the tour were really good to allow you to walk at your own pace and see all the sights with some local commentary so that you don’t miss anything. Also at a reasonable price compared to guided tours..Version: 10.2.1

York TourI have spent a very enjoyable couple of hours touring York. It’s a great way to discover the history and hidden stories of the places you are visiting. I much prefer this method to joining a large touring group where I may miss what is being said. I was also able to go at my own pace..Version: 8.1.7

First ImpressionsMy wife and I are going to Paris at the end of September. We decided to try a self-guided tour and chose a VoiceMap tour of Montmartre which we reviewed this evening to familiarize ourselves with how the App worked. Although somewhat experienced with computer use, we have not used Apps. We are in our late 70’s and not as comfortable in their use as younger generations. We were able to navigate the tour by trial and error and after @ two hours were able to move from place to place. We believe that this portion of the App is understood and will work at following the map for directions. It looks like other destinations are on the horizon. Thanks VoiceMap..Version: 10.2.1

Easy to use, worked perfectly, great valueHighly recommended for an audio tour. I took one in Basel and it was well worth it. The app worked well and I had no trouble the following directions. The content was interesting to. Especially great as a solo traveller.Version: 8.2.7

An enjoyable respiteLovely and quaint, what an intriguing look back into a largely agrarian time when mills, bakeries, tanneries and other hands-on skills were common! A very educational and entertaining tour. SUGGESTION: Place a NUMBER at each station on tour map. My Wi-Fi was not working and it took me 30 minutes to figure out where I was relative to the tour map. A simple numbering of the tour stops (both visual and aural) would have helped me immensely..Version: 8.2.7

Great content, just could use some more featuresAs someone who loves solo travel, this app delivers amazing content from its creators. So many good tours on here!! The one thing the app is lacking is the ability to “save” or create a wishlist of tours you are interested in purchasing. I often browse the tours and then just have to write down the ones I’m interested in potentially buying..Version: 10.2.0

Pearl Merchant and Palm Trees - Sharjah UAESharjah is a perfect staycation for expats and for visitors to the city seeking insights about history and culture of the UAE. Taking the Voice Map walking tour was like walking with a friend through a fascinating neighborhood that she knows well, as she shared her insider secrets along the way. Discover hidden alleyways, details about design, local architecture and traditions. Highly recommended- enjoy As independent travelers, we enjoyed the autonomy of the tour together with the fascinating storytelling along the way. #dubaistaycation.Version: 7.1.6

Romans, Vikings and Medieval Marvels: A tour through YorkThis was brilliant - took us to places we would never have found and provided a really great commentary as we went. Will definitely find guides to other places we visit..Version: 10.2.9

Brilliantly put togetherWe were a little bit dubious but the geolocation worked brilliantly and we saw things I don’t think we would have had we muddled through with guide books and sat nav. It made our trip to Lake District great, thank you.Version: 9.3.1

Darwin/ ShrewsburyVery interesting! Saw more than we would have just wandering around by ourselves. A couple of times, directions were slightly confusing and we had to retrace our steps to re-orient ourselves hence 4 rather than 5 stars..Version: 10.2.3

Great appWe’ve tried these tours in several cities and they have all been excellent. Love that you can go at your own pace and stop when you wish and start again whenever..Version: 10.3.0

Lake Geneva walking pathThis was such a great way to enjoy the Path!! I have walked it so many times and wanted to know about what I am seeing. It is informative, easy to listen to, and still relaxing with times of silence just to take in the views. You don’t have to walk and read at the same time either! It is nice because you can start from anywhere on the path and turn back when you get tired and just pick it up on another day. Highly recommend!.Version: 7.1.6

CambridgeA tour around Cambridge at our own pace, to stay or move on when we were ready. We enjoyed seeing the city without maps and leaflets but with lots of information..Version: 8.1.7

Savannah historic tourGreat job! Great information and the app worked perfectly. We could take our time and explore and the app tracked us starting the narrative when we went to the next point of interest. Definitely worth doing. More information than just reading the historical Plaques..Version: 9.0.6

Amazing experience!!!My sister and I went on trip to London like we have done many times before, but decided that we wanted to do something different. We looked at a few different "walking tour" apps but none seemed like what we wanted until we saw this one. It was a free app with one free tour which we thought we would try. The tour was spoken by Sir Ian McKellen about some of the theatres of London, which we are very interested in anyway. The tour worked brilliantly we only had to look at the map a couple of times once as I got distracted by a coffee shop and talked over the audio and once to make 100% sure we were going in the right direction. We were amazed by how well the gps worked in the built up places in London. I will be recommending this app to anyone visiting London as it showed us places and things in London we had never even noticed before although parts we knew very well. The audio was entertaining, interesting and very easy to follow, but with the security of not having to constantly look at or hold a phone, (just remember your headphones and possibly a way of multiple people being able to hear). Be aware depending on how fast or slow you walk there are times where it is quiet but as long as you follow the instructions it will kick in again. We can't wait for our next trip to London when I am sure we will downloaded one of the tours which you have to pay for and I hope it is as engaging, entertaining and as easy to follow as the theatre tour!.Version: 4.1.6

Aliki was amazingWe really enjoyed our audio walking tour of Crete, you really need to trust the app and it’s GPS as it works really well especially in the winding streets of the old town. We got carried away at the harbour and took so many pictures we didn’t pause the tour and carried on walking too far round, the app was fab and told us we’d gone wrong! I would say it takes nearer 3hrs though. Highly recommended.Version: 7.1.6

Loved it!Try this for the first time just today and our family really enjoyed it. Not only was it reasonable, in price, but the information and narration was excellent. We were on our own as a family instead of in a big group, and we could stop and take a break or look around off the beaten path anywhere we wanted to. Will probably do similar things in more cities that we visit. Thanks for a great app!.Version: 8.2.7

Amazing for travelingUsed this all over Europe and loved it!.Version: 10.2.0

The Ultimate Sports History of Eau ClaireWow, who knew? As a resident of Eau Claire for over three decades, I learned a LOT in this 90 minute tour. Yes I know about the Hank Aaron statue at Carson Park, and I’ve been to the top of the ski hill ramp out at Silvermine, but there’s a lot of sorts-related things I did not know that have gone on in this community of mine. Roger has touched on every imaginable nationally recognized sport that has an Eau Claire connection in this driving tour around town. The map on the app is easy to follow and so are the instructions from Jenny your timely navigator. We would’ve finished in 90 minutes, except we had to take a detour at the Roadside Diner leaving Carson Park. Did you know it takes at least 15 minutes to eat one of their Noveltys on a stick? A well-spent summer Sunday afternoon. Roger you knocked it out of the park! JayB.Version: 8.2.7

Great idea! Works wonderfully! We enjoyed a walking tour around Valencia. It’s like having a private guide. We really recommend it!!!.Version: 10.2.3

At Andrew’s Walking TourI couldn’t get onto any walking tours as they were booked out. I tried this audio tour as a last resort. It was excellent. Highly recommend..Version: 10.2.1

Amazing first experience of VoiceMap.My friend and I visited Aberdeen this week. As we are both true crime fans she found this tour on trip advisor. It was our first experience and we loved it. The instructions were clear, the stories engaging and relevant and the app keeps you on track if you happen to wander off or get lost. The tour also included suggestions for other places to visit in Aberdeen which was great. We will definitely be using again. Thx!.Version: 7.0

Île de la CitéThis was a wonderful companion as we followed Annie’s route. The narrative was both informative and educational. This is so much better than following a large group as so often found in guided visits. The ability to stop and explore at your leisure is great. My husband and I shared a pair of AirPods and my phone was safely tucked away at all times. Highly recommend this and all of Annie’s tours..Version: 10.2.3

Great app but beware free sample to purchaseAmazing once you get it working. We downloaded what must have been a preview of a tour, and took us several minutes after it stopped working to realize we needed to DELETE the sample in downloads after purchasing, THEN redownload from purchases to have access to the full tour. If your tour stops working and just chimes at you when you try to hear things, try this solution..Version: 10.2.1

Amman’s Rainbow StreetThis is a very engaging and well presented tour filled with delightful tidbits about gems found all over the street. Even for Ammanite who has lived in the city for over 20 years, I discovered that there was still new information to gain from this tour. I love that Rana provides a personal touch with shared stories from her life. Thoroughly enjoyable!.Version: 7.1.6

Frankfurt audio tourThis is an absolute masterpiece of audio, took us to places we would have not found in our own. Highly recommend.Version: 8.2.7

Informative walking tour!I thought I knew Vallarta! Taking this walking tour was an eye-opener. Sandra’s narrative added depth and context to familiar and not so familiar places. A highly enjoyable tour. I recommend it!.Version: 8.2.7

Pleasantly SurprisedExactly what I was looking for. I frequent Geneva but never had the chance to explore it or learn much about its history. This was a great introduction with a great narrator. The app is well designed—it allows you to put down the phone, stop whenever you would like, and continue the tour seamlessly. Great idea!.Version: 11.1.1

Awesome AppWe love this app because we love meaningful touring. Great information and a cinch to use. We shared a set of ear pods for a really enjoyable shared experience. We will use them everywhere we go as can do at own pace. Totally recommend..Version: 10.1.4

Brilliant. This is a great concept and having walked through a couple of maps now, am completely addicted. It’s location sensitive so you can go at your own pace, wander off and come back to the tour whenever... Perfect for independent types that enjoy a good walk and wish they knew more about their surroundings. Cannot recommend it enough..Version: 5.1.0

Great App, Just Takes a Minute to Learn to UseI used this app when I had a couple hours to tour La Jolla in San Diego. I love the app and will certainly use it for more walking tours. However it did take me like 30 minutes to figure out how to download everything and get the tour running. You kind of have to start at stop one, so that made things a little bit difficult. Basically, great app but a little complicated for first time users..Version: 8.2.3

Cheltenham discovery rambleLoved the app and the tour of Cheltenham. We wouldn’t have discovered most of the hidden gems of architecture if we had wondered round in our own. The history was really interesting, and the tour guide pointed out many details that we wouldn’t have seen otherwise. Would definitely start a visit to another town with one of these tours.Version: 10.2.3

ExcellentGenuinely very impressed by this app so far. I have only done one tour and that is of Glasgow. The narration is nice and clear and very informative. The GPS system works perfectly and the directions are easy to follow so you really don’t have to look at your phone once you find the right place to start. I would wholly recommend this app. Well done and I look forward to using it now in other locations. Thank you 👍.Version: 8.1.7

CandySuch a great tour! Good route, interesting commentary & easy to listen to. And to think we nearly paid 30 Euro each for a person led tour! Highly recommend..Version: 10.2.3

Kirkenes - great valueWe had a beautiful walk through Kirkenes using the app in February 2024. Great value - although a short tour, the history is interesting and the directions easy to follow..Version: 11.1.1

Perfect for solo travelling on your own schedule!Downloaded for a trip to Europe and will be continuing to use it on my next travels..Version: 10.2.3

Wonderful tour of Charleston!Taking a tour with a family of 6 can be cost-prohibitive, so we discovered VoiceMap looking for a less expensive way to visit Charleston, SC and better appreciate the history and significance. We found this app to be exactly what we needed. We found the historical and architectural background to be helpful and very interesting, and we loved going through alleys and less-toured areas. The map gave us confidence that we were headed the right way, and the audio cues were very helpful..Version: 10.2.3

SuperNous avons pris le tour de central park. Les anecdotes sont intéressantes la vitesse du débit est excellente et les directions très claires.Version: 10.1.4

ExcellentDid the audio tour instead of tour guided one so we could do it at a time of our choosing and at our pace. Found it perfectly easy to purchase and download. The instructions were pretty straightforward whilst walking round. We went wrong once but it was easy enough to correct and pick it back up if you follow the map provided on your phone. Although we walked past most of the sites picked out in the 4 days we had already been in Cologne, we had obviously not really ‘seen’ them as, the audio tour highlighted them and gave us interesting Roman facts about them. Very worthwhile and enjoyable. Definitely one to recommend.Version: 10.2.3

Highly recommendedI’ve used this app in every city I’ve been to where there is a tour. It is fantastic! The guides are knowledgeable, and the app give great direction and keeps you on track throughout the tour. Highly recommended.Version: 10.2.9

Carmel Off the Beaten PathAlthough quite challenging to start (hint... you must start at the very beginning 🎶), it was well worth the initial frustration. Stick with it. We love walking neighborhoods and, with guidance and stories of what we were seeing, this was the perfect way to do it. Carmel has a number of routes and I’m hoping that tomorrow we’ll do another!.Version: 7.1.6

Knowledgeable with a charming dry sense of humourAn excellent tour that is well worth your time..Version: 10.2.3

Kansas CityI was born here, I live here, I’m a real deal KC native . And this tour is the real deal. I went to Shawnee Mission East but I moved to KCMO so I could live in a diverse neighborhood. I never looked back nor regretted that decision. We have a long way to go but we can do this. We can embrace the power of positive community and own up to the negative past of red lining and block busting. Thank you for including the racial component to our Kansas City’s history. You hit it spot on..Version: 7.1.6

Amazing Hollywood HistoryIt’s Amazing to me how the creators of this and other Southern California audio tours research and share such fascinating history and back stories of the areas they highlight. It changes a simple walk on the Sunset Strip into a distinctive tour and lesson of celebrity history you would like never know about the area without hours of research on your own. Thank you Mindy and Jerry for what you create and this Fabulous, Memorable walk on the Sunset Strip!.Version: 9.4.4

Really like the appI really like this app and the tour I purchased downloaded and walked. The only problem I had was that after I closed the app when I took a break from the walking tour for lunch, it appeared that it was dumped from my phone and needed to be downloaded again. This would be a significant problem in the middle of the city with no WiFi and slow cell service. As it happened that was not the case but the app needs to be clearer and more specific about a safe way to pause or stop the tour and reactivate it later with a minimum amount of stress. Also beware that to have the app running continuously over a long period is going to eat the phone battery. Carry an extended battery pack or charger just in case..Version: 8.2.7

Awesome guidance, not great selectionThe guidance and the functionality is great! The app just guides you where to go and what to look at through the headphones and auto-plays the content as you get there. Perfect! Don’t even have to pull the phone out of your pocket. However, the selection of tour options is not great. Did not have the Old Jaffa tour for Tel Aviv, which was disappointing. But I really enjoyed the White City tour..Version: 8.2.7

York audio tourI did the tour with my husband and it was really good - very informative and interesting. I’d have never probably found out so much about the history of York, it’s buildings and people without this App. Highly recommend!.Version: 8.1.7

Great tourVery interesting and fun. We had an issue with the app because we split the tour over two days and it was hard to sync up on the second day. Once that was done everything was very nice. Clear voice and easy directions. Thanks. My spouse above. Good tour. Took a bit of practice picking up after stopping, and GPS was confused by tall buildings at times. Overall great. John King is excellent..Version: 8.2.1

Absolutely delightful experience! We did the Montmartre tour and had a ball. It was wonderful to be able to wander freely, on our own time, but be so well directed and entertained and instructed, all in one easy app. It was great to go at our own pace and replay things if we needed to. We didn’t get lost and we learned a LOT! Thank you!.Version: 8.2.7

Enjoy an informative walk in the cityI’ve listen to 3 of the tours in NYC, a great interactive tour to guide you through the city while listening to the history as the city has changed. Highly recommend for a first time visit or if you’ve lived here for years and you want to know more about the history of your city.Version: 9.1.1

Fun, easy and informative way to see the cityWell done. Used the App for the first time On this tour. Once we got used to it it was a breeze. Will definitely do it again elsewhere..Version: 10.0.4

ValenciaFantastic tour, which included little snippets we’d never have discovered on our own. The guide was great with a good mix of knowledge and humour. The spoken directions were easy to follow and we liked how you could pause or not depending on what was of interest. We’ll definitely be using Voicemap again..Version: 9.4.1

Great concept and decent executionFantastic concept. I’ve enjoyed several audio walking tours and recommend them to friends and family. The GPS was a bit too unreliable for my taste and would frequently mistake my location by a few meters (failing to trigger the next stop) ... but it was a very minor inconvenience in an otherwise fantastic experience. Hope they make many more and keep updating heir tours..Version: 4.5.5

The story really enhanced the tourThreading Charles 1st story through the tour really enhanced it. Giving context to each location brought it all to life. It was rather poignant reaching the end of the tour as we heard of end of Charles’ life, seeing some of the last things he would have seen. Well read also..Version: 8.0.0

Derry tourEasy to use, great deal of interesting information which was well and clearly presented. App allows user to go at your own pace , stopping and restarting the tour at any point. Will look for similar tours in other cities ..Version: 9.4.1

Romans Vikings and Medieval Marvels: a walk through York’s historyThis was our first time of using VoiceMap and we can thoroughly recommend it! An enjoyable, structured and informative walk through this beautiful city. We will definitely be using VoiceMap again on our travels..Version: 10.2.9

Excellent York tourBrilliant and informative way to learn more about the city of York, especially as we had 2 dogs with us. We took plenty of stops (aka shopping) along the way but this was easy and the commentary activated once we got back en route. Thorough recommend and will look out for others in cities on our travels..Version: 10.1.1

London -My first trip to London. So I knew nothing. But I’m guessing the info shared may be enjoyable for anyone. I adored this experience. I’m a solo traveler and having Ian McKellen guide me with his humor etc. was fun. I laughed out loud a few times. I will be recommending to my friends. Great walk through London Theater district. And free on VoiceMap. (He has a stop at a pub along the way.).Version: 11.1.1

Hidden pleasuresThis was a fantastic way to see the town! Great value for money and I got to see lots of bits that I would have otherwise missed. It was a little tricky to backtrack if I missed something but really easy to use. I especially liked that it warned you if you were headed the wrong way!.Version: 9.0.8

Fantastic way to explore new placesWe used VoiceMap in Vienna and were so impressed with the experience. The app guides you as you walk so you don’t have to keep looking down at your phone. You learn all the little secret facts you would on a group tour without being in a big crowd. I really can’t recommend this enough. Also, I had tried the app in Cheltenham a few months ago and sadly it didn’t quite work. The team at VoiceMap were so kind and called me to help try and resolve the issue in real time but because I was short of time gave me another token for a tour. 11/10 customer experience, thank you!.Version: 10.3.0

Whitby tourVery interesting and informative taking you to all parts of Whitby which you definitely would have missed without the tour. Easy to use. Highly recommended.Version: 8.1.7

Audio tour of Chania, CreteGreat concept, great execution. Audio is effectively integrated with a mapping app. Very timely audio based upon your specific location at that moment. Very specific directions to keep you on track (even on the tiny streets/alleyways of Chania). Could not have been done better. We are world travelers and we will download the local files wherever we go in the future..Version: 9.0.6

Pilgrims and pit stopsQuintessentially English voice, brilliant delivery, and easy to listen to. That’s the guide. The App is also superb. Stopped a couple of times and went ‘off piste‘ as it were for a few minutes and the App started again as soon as I was back on track. Route wasn’t too long and the information was not on overload. Just right for a short afternoon tour of Canterbury. Definitely recommend this tour. Mark Kelly..Version: 8.1.1

Vraiment très bien !!Super concept. Visite très agréable et remplie de faits historiques très intéressant. Très beau parcours à travers le Vieux-Québec qui nous fait découvrir ses plus beau coin..Version: 8.0.0

Bruges TourNickolas’s tour was amazing. We learnt so much and saw so many hidden treasures that we would not have otherwise even noticed. We’ll be doing another one tomorrow. Highly recommend..Version: 9.1.5

Great TourSo glad we found this tour. We were only in Charlottetown overnight and were able to fit this tour in right after supper before it got dark. We enjoyed the stories..Version: 10.1.4

My Experience with VoiceMap at SSRComing to SSR today is dream come true for me. And VoiceMap made my tour easy, convenient and illuminating. Right from the gate, I got a comprehensive introduction to the history of the garden, and the clear voice of Dave, my virtual tour guide, was very friendly and comforting. I got the names of the trees, plants and various species. My most interesting part was the point where I was shown the various trees planted by celebrities that had visited the garden. That was awesome! As a tour operator myself, I’ll definitely recommend this app to my clients and industry colleagues, especially in my home country, Nigeria. Big thanks to Indibleu for this amazing tech product. This is the future! Sam Adeleke Chief Explorer, TravelWithSamGlobal Lagos, Nigeria November 8, 2022.Version: 9.1.0

Love this idea! After discovering that guided tours of New Orleans are quite limited on Mondays, I was fortunate to find this app. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the walking tour of the Tremé neighborhood. We had a little trouble with the GPS while near an underpass but were able to prompt the audio manually while using the map overview. I was also very pleased with the very prompt customer support I received when my phone settings interfered with the app functioning. Will definitely use this app in my future travels..Version: 5.0.5

Wonderful way to walk, learn and seeWe’ve just started using VoiceMap and are very pleased with the tours we’ve tried (Krakow and Prague). The voice guided tours are fun, flexible, easy to use, and very informative. We like to walk so they fit our touring style nicely. I am sure we’ll use many more as we expand our travels. If you enjoy walking and seeing sites without being in a group this app may be for you. There are also tours for some interesting things that you won’t find in organized tours..Version: 10.0.4

Witches audio tour BergenGreat little app and tour. Brings to life Bergen in that era, in English. An easy to listen history. App works well interactively and easy to follow. It goes at your own pace. Just switch it on and pop your phone in your pocket. Safe walkway mostly on the flat with only one little street uphill. Well done narrator. Defo recommend if you have an hour..Version: 9.1.5

Great Idea! This was fantastic. My wife and I walked the historic district of Tucson while listening to our tour guide from the app. It is geo-sync’d and told us where to go , when to turn and when to stop. It also displays a map of the tour and where we are at on the tour! Love it. Hope to do it again in another city..Version: 8.2.7

Monsanto castle tourThe tour and app were great and exceeded my expectations. The gps worked well and the tour followed along with our walking, we could easily repeat something or pause. Not quite as good a human giving a tour but you can go when it’s convenient or if you can’t find an in person tour. I’ll definitely be using theses tours again.Version: 9.0.0

Solid core but a little rough around the edgesI've followed a couple of tours and found their content to be good. The app itself is easy to use on the whole, but I wish you could open up the directions to the starting point in Google Maps as I don't have Apple Maps installed on my phone. Some indication of the cardinal direction to the starting point (if navigating without using a map) would also be appreciated (e.g. "30 yards to the north" rather than just "30 yards away"). And this is quite minor, but I don't need to receive the whole "You've paused the tour. To resume..." spiel every time I pause. Once when you first use the app or even once every day or tour would probably be sufficient to remind most people. Lastly, there seems to be a minor bug with the download status where it shows the last map segment (I think it was the map) as not having completely downloaded until I restart the app. That happened for both tours I downloaded..Version: 9.3.1

Wow!This was such a great add-on to my golf cart rental! This truly added another dimension to the recommended scenic route and I could see myself do this again on an electric bike! It was great to be guided around town without worrying about getting lost and I have everything that I was looking at being explained to me as I was driving along. Such a great way to experience Catalina and get a sense of the surroundings! I would recommend this add-on to anyone that is thinking about renting an electric bike or a golf cart on catalina island!.Version: 10.0.9

Great tour optionWe were visiting Savannah and looking for a tour at our own pace. This app was exactly what we wanted. Loved that the narration followed along with where we were standing. We used Bluetooth earbuds so my husband and I could both listen, and were able to put the phone away and just walk and look around while we listened. We looked at a few app options and this one was definitely the best! Worth the little bit of $..Version: 8.2.1

First time userDid the Freedom Trail Tour in Boston and it worked a treat..Version: 10.0.4

No better way to tour a cityFor our Mediterranean cruise we downloaded tours for several port cities. We love for so many reasons. My husband and I share a pair of air pods so we can both listen. We get to start whenever we want and we can always hear the tour. We can easily pause to explore a shop or have a meal. I’m recommending this to all my friends..Version: 9.4.1

Excellent tour of DurhamThis Durham tour was our first with this app. The concept is excellent and alowed us to progress at own pace. The narrative and directions were great. We used bone conducting headphones as we like to be aware of our surroundings too. Thank yoh.Version: 8.1.7

Awesome GuideWe just did the audio guide for Galway, beautifully paced tour and such a lovely voice to listen to in English. Really enjoyed it, I will definitely be using this when I visit other places..Version: 8.1.3

Good Tour AppI enjoyed the tour especially because u can start and stop at ur own pace, it’s easy to use and informative. I also like that u can revisit it anytime. The only criticism is the time estimate. I did the Tarragona, ES tour (75 mins) and u would literally have to speed walk this tour to complete it in that time. Add on stops along the way for more touring, rest and/or drinks and u can easily double that time. I’m a senior and got too tired and ended early. I caught the last few stops virtually and glad I did-didn’t miss much. I’d recommend this tour. Much better to have ur own tour guide and at ur own pace. It was fun to walk by large tour groups with a real guide..Version: 10.2.3

Walking Tour of Victoria!Love this tour. Insightful, easy to follow and chock full of interesting historical facts. Michele has pulled together a smooth walk about of the local downtown area and adjacent China town including a look at curiosities in a variety of shops, information about local customs and savoury treats to try. A walk worth doing!.Version: 8.1.3

HIGHLY RECOMMENDEDI hardly ever, if I ever write a review about an app, but I downloaded this one this morning upon arriving in Verona, Italy, and I had such an amazing day learning about the town, its history, its most famous landmarks, in such an easy to follow way while guided by a native Veronese. The app uses your location and is very precise. I can’t recommend this app enough. Yes, you will have to pay to download individual guides for each city but trust me, if you are visiting a city and are interested in actually learning about it, a few bucks is totally worth it..Version: 10.1.4

Segovia Walking TourNice 1 hour tour. As per some of the others comments and I do understand that we are in Spain, but I did find at time the accent a little hard to understand when you are walking around and trying to take it all in..Version: 10.2.3

Great service!I missed the normal guided tour of York, UK and found this app while trying to figure out what to do. The audio guide for York was very informative, and might as well have been a professional voice actor. The app itself, despite some small inaccuracies with the gps, functions very well to keep you in the moment rather that staring at your phone. I’ll be using this in other cities I visit!.Version: 7.0.3

Excellent way to discover RavennaPurchase your day tickets before you start the audio tour as some of the commentary is inside the magnificent buildings. The day ticket is excellent value and unlocks Ravenna’s past. An enjoyable tour which is highly recommended..Version: 9.1.5

Nola Garden districtFantastic self guided walking tour. Engaging and informative. Easy to follow. Thank you for sharing local and historical insights. We really enjoyed this tour !.Version: 11.1.1

Fantastic way to personalise your your!Loved the flexibility of this model of touring, we stretched it out to 5 hours taking in lunch at the Yorky pud shop and the Jorvik centre on the way. Plus ice cream and a beer by the river. Thoroughly recommend as a way to experience parts of the city we would not have seen otherwise, plus potted history bringing it to life ..Version: 8.2.7

Voice Map TourI wondered if you could ask your story tellers to advise where public toilets maybe… at the beginning of the tour . Let’s people know in advance if they come up against a “problem “ 😃 Annette Sydney 28/10/22.Version: 9.0.8

The Heart of ViennaThis is a must tour you should do especially if you are with friends or family. So easy to follow. You can stop to take photos and take as much time as you need. We wish we found this tour when we started the Europe tour in London and Munich. Vienna was our last destination and decided to give a try in Vienna. It was really good..Version: 10.0.4

Avalon, Santa CatalinaThis was an awesome tour. We enjoyed the walk and the fascinating facts and descriptions. Bonus were the local speakers. We can’t wait to come back. We are also looking forward to other tours like this in the future. It was great to set our own pace, pause for stops, and enjoy the whole experience!.Version: 8.1.3

First class!Tour of Durham walking and stopping every so often to listen to really informative facts. Thoroughly recommended. Take a power pack as you’ll be taking many photos and listening too..Version: 9.1.1

Fantastic tour! This was a great tour. John, the Australian guide, was interesting, informative, and funny. The pace was good with just the right amount of history and commentary. I took this tour at my own pace over three days, stopping at all the places that I wanted to see inside. It was a perfect tour of Valencia. I will definitely look for his other tours when I go to different cities. Two thumbs up!.Version: 10.3.0

A incredible walking tour!!An incredible tour!! Was not aware of the history of Victoria. A tour well worth taking!! Loved being able to follow at our own pace, and being able to step into little shops along the way. Thanks for a great journey through Victoria!!.Version: 8.1.7

Great tour in splitPleasant and informative walk around the Diocletian palace - we really liked the automatic localization of sights of interest without the need of keeping the phone on our hands. The voice of the guide was pleasant and easy to understand - looking forward to discovering other cities.Version: 8.1.7

Walking tour of Chania, CreteWhat an excellent tour of the city!! We walked around the entire city and got a really good summary of the history. We were taken down beautiful alleys and told the significance of all the areas. The maps were easy to use, with very good directions.Version: 10.0.4

Good concept and good implementationDid the Ottawa tour and really enjoyed it. Just one ui aspect was a bit confusing: the lock.Version: 8.1.2

Great for slow walking culture vultures !We hate being shepherded around in a crowd ! With this guide you can stop and go at your own pace we had drinks , lunch , popped into churches that were pointed out on the tour . It took all day but brilliant commentary easy to use . Just for a few euros much cheaper than a guided tour with the herd ..Version: 10.0.4

Cirencester Tall Tales and Hidden HistoryAn excellent short tour round the more fascinating parts of historical Cirencester centre. Clear narration, well matched to walking locations at all times. Helpful reminders when I took a wrong turn. Brilliant, thank you..Version: 10.0.4

Excellent way of exploringDid the Walls of Dubrovnik tour. Excellent idea that the app is GPX triggered so you can take the tour at your own pace of don’t get behind in crowded areas. Great local knowledge of tour guide made it a fantastic experience..Version: 10.2.3
