Good just one thingI thinks is gate but I think it is missing some features when it comes to the messaging, like for example being able to edit a message after it was sent.Version: 23.1115.01

A great side hustle for the right peron (READ FULL DISCLAIMER)I am someone with an entire life of experience taking care of dogs and cats. For me, this has been a fantastic and relatively easy way to make some extra money! After my beloved senior dog passed away I definitely wanted to wait a while before getting another pet. But very quickly our house felt empty without one, so we decided to become sitters on Rover. It was one of the best decisions we have ever made. I would take care of most of these lil bebs for free because I end up completely falling in love almost every time. The majority of people willing to pay my added fee for housesitting requests are usually VERY financially comfortable. As someone who rents a small apartment downtown, this makes housesitting honestly a joy and a privilege. I often feel like I’m on vacation in these super nice homes taking care of cute pets. Keep in mind the nicer the home, usually the more high maintenance the pet is (absolutely at the fault of the owners who baby them like literal children who need their teeth brushed every night before bed lol). Full disclaimer it was NOT EASY AT FIRST AND IT IS NOT FOR EVERYONE. It took about 6 months of trial and error to design our profile and scheduling habits in an optimal way. I have had friends who were inspired by me to try sitting on Rover and found it very overwhelming. I want to be VERY CLEAR in that this is not for everyone and it is not a get rich quick kind of side hustle. It works for me because I am 27 years old with literally 27 years of experience taking care of dogs and cats (always 2 or 3) at the same time. I grew up on a massive property in the country with everything from chubby house cats to stray cats we took in, from shih tzu’s to german sheppards and pitbulls. I’ve had friendly and aggressive dogs, cats with chronic health issues and everything in between. My experience is what makes its easy and enjoyable. But my friends with less experience would leave a very different review. I also want to highlight the importance of being EXTREMELY responsive to messages. Rover will send you to the bottom of the list and make you invisible very quickly if you are not responding to every message within minutes. Your calendar must always be up to date or you get docked for declining too many requests in a time where you were supposed to be available. You have to be super specific about your preferences and comfort levels with everything you can think of on your profile to avoid having to decline too many requests. Running the app and the networking portion of this side hustle is almost equally as important and demanding as taking care of the pets. Take that into account. I have had to go to the hospital from a dog bite to the face. I have had owners bold face lie to me about the behaviour of their dogs. I’ve had reactive sibling dogs fight each other out of no where and the owner try to blame me for redness in the eye as a result of the fight. These bc are peoples babies and they are protective so if you are anything less than perfect it will be an issue. Rover also has the ability for both owners and sitters to leave completely private reviews of each other that only the Rover team will see. Keep that in mind because although an owner doesn’t leave you a public review, they may have left a private review for Rover and if you’re wondering why you don’t get requests anymore, thats why. So if you read this far, I want to reiterate that Rover has changed my life for the better as a a sitter. I make enough money to cover all of my home bills every month (that is gas, electricity, water, and internet) plus some leftover which goes towards a big Costco grocery haul. While being careful to book time off to rest between dogs and a few weekends and holidays to myself, I am consistently booked up usually 3 months in advance. I would recommend this as a side hustle to anyone with a SIGNIFICANT comfort level with pets and who is extremely responsive and organized. You will not do well if you are anything less. Good luck 😊.Version: 23.0809.02

PawsomeI’ve been a walker on Rover for two years now and i’ve had a great time walking the dogs in my town. I love the updated background check for safety and when i tell owners, it makes everyone feel better..Version: 23.1115.01

Helpful app but…The app is very helpful in connecting service providers and clients. However, the 20% fee makes it very difficult to earn a living wage.. that said, sometimes clients are gracious enough to tip you, and that makes up for it other times not..Version: 23.1018.01

Kickstarted my pet walking/sitting career!I downloaded Rover and set up a profile two and a half years ago, and I was pleasantly surprised! I immediately got contacted by future customers, I thought I’d be waiting forever but no! It’s nice to know that both parties are protected, even if it does mean a 15% cut goes to Rover. The app is really easy to navigate for sitters, however I think things may be a little more confusing on the customer’s end as I’ve had a couple of people complain about not being able to navigate it. Nothing that couldn’t be sorted out though. Having said that, it’s really easy to setup your prices and profile information. Since joining Rover, I have multiple repeat customers, lots of five star reviews which help immensely, and lots of experience. It’s allowed me to build up a nice amount of savings. Lovely app!.Version: 23.0517.00

Safe & ReliableRover is a safe & reliable way to communicate with pet owners who truly care about where and who looks after their pets. It documents all conversations, allows you to send updates and pictures. It also allows pet owners to record all the pets needs down so you have a good understanding of what’s required, and their history..Version: 19.11.06

I love rover butI love rover. I’m a pet owner and a sitter too. I have been doing rover for a while now and is great and very convenient. My main complaint about the app is that the pet owners are choosing a wide range for pick ups/drop offs (For example: drop off from 8:00am to 3:00pm & pick up from 4:00pm to 10:00pm).this is more than 6 hours each day that I have to take care for someone’s pet without being pay. This isn’t right for sitters. Taking care of someone’s pet isn’t an easy task specially when the pets have behavior issues. Sitters charge in rover for 24 hours and if there’s extra hours the sitters should be pay according to that but unfortunately there’s some people that figure how to confuse the app choosing a wide range for drop off/pick up to avoid paying what they are supposed to. I have complained many times about this on email to a rover support because I feel that rover should limit the pick up/drop off range time to only one to two hours instead letting the pet owners pick an entire day. Please rover fix this big problem so sitters like me get compensated according to the time we care for someone’s pet..Version: 23.0111.03

Rover for 6 months.I started with Rover as a means to get my dogs to socialize with other dogs. But this has been an excellent means to make a little extra cash on the side. What I hate is the Rover charges. 20%cut from every booking you make is a little too steep..Version: 23.1004.00

Fantastic if it suits your lifestyle.I love Jokes more than human beings and it is such a responsibility to have one, more responsibility even having a child. Rover has given me a real good insight to different breeds, what it feels like to have a dog and I am absolutely loving it. my mental health has improved as I have a reason to go for walks, as a single person having a second income always helps. I never leave the dogs when I am with them and totally respect dogs so as long as the right people with the right intentions are sitting everyone is happy! My Customers certainly are I have 21 five star reviews…. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.Version: 23.1004.00

Gives sitters the freedom to do their bestI've worked for a couple of dog walking companies, and Rover is my favorite. I get to set my own wage. If I'm getting burned out, it's easy to temporarily turn off my availability to new clients or alter my calendar. Rover is great when there is an emergency, very supportive and willing to pay for vet care. The fee they charge for providing customers to you and insurance during stays is a lot less than the other company, meaning I don't have to rip off my clients to make a good wage. The app is great. I've hardly ever had issues with it and it doesn't need to be updated constantly. I would like if the walk map was more accurate, but that is a minor concern. The big difference with Rover, is that I get to talk with customers instead of going through a middleman, which makes me more comfortable when meeting new customers, and creates less problems with gaining access to the dog. Rover also allows you to decide with the owner what times work best for both customer and walker. The one downside with Rover is that they don't have an option for giving tips, which can be frustrating when you go above and beyond for a client. Other than that, I do love Rover!.Version: 3.52.2

Needs improvementAs a new sitter I feel we need more options to customize the pets we sit. 1) We should be able to enter the dogs weight instead of letting us choose up to 15lbs for small dogs, then the next option is up to 40lbs. I’m able to sit for dogs up to 25-30lbs but I don’t have that option…frustrating. I don’t want to miss out on dogs that are 20 lbs but I don’t want a 40lb dog. 2) I should be able to customize the dog size for dog daycare to dog boarding. If I have an older but small dog I’m sitting, I don’t want a 40lb dog in daycare. I wish we could adjust based on the day based off the dogs we are currently caring for. The calendar could also be updated, would be great if we could link Rover to our personal calendars. I also would love if it would show a full calendar with all the dogs we’re sitting and M&G’s. That way it would make it a lot easier to see who we are sitting on which day and would make it easier to see compatibility issues before accepting a new booking. Rover should also send owners notices to update their dog profiles. So many times it says the dog is 15 lbs but then the dog comes over for a M&G and it’s 50+ lbs because when the owner created the profile their dog was a puppy..Version: 22.0928.00

Fantastic concept and easy to use appI’ve only recently joined but I’ve already got 5 potential bookings! Really enjoying using the app. My only comments for future feature development are: - M&Gs are pretty much essential before a booking, but it’s be great if you could “pencil” someones booking request in the online calendar before confirming so you’re sure not to double book - Should have an M&G interface to manage these along with bookings - Can we enforce new users adding *some* information about their dog in their profile?.Version: 22.0309.00

Furr-ific!This was purrrfect and we had instant matches!.Version: 24.0124.01

Makes my job harder than it needs to beAs a sitter, the app is not user friendly. I am constantly having to restart the app or my entire phone just to get my home tab to properly display the list of pets I’m watching that day. Otherwise it’ll just show the list from the previous day. If I’m not connected to WiFi, then it’ll usually take all day to send a rover card, even if I go back onto WiFi. The app takes a really long time to load sometimes, even on WiFi. And sometimes when I end a drop in, a duplicate visit will start, and I can’t stop it obviously without adding a picture, so the owner is essentially getting two rover cards for the same visit. I am at least receiving my payments in a timely manner, although I do know that some sitters have issues with getting paid. Rover is constantly adding new features to their site/app, which I like, but it seems to just add more bugs to the speedy never ending list of bugs this app causes. I feel like we should have a much more streamlined app if they’re going to take 20% of our earnings..Version: 19.12.31

Best Pet Service App to exist!I’ve been using Rover for almost a year now and I absolutely love it. I also use all of the other pet service app too (more apps more clients) - but Rover is my absolute favourite. While booking people on the other apps I always almost ask them if they’d want to make an account on Rover instead and book with me on Rover rather than the app they’re trying to book on, as Rover is just theee best! The people behind Rover as well are really cooperative and helpful. They are there to help you with whatever you may need and are really attentive. Love Rover and the people that work at Rover ❤️🐕🐾.Version: 22.0629.01

Love Rover!I love Rover! I use it to find care for my own dog and I also offer daycare and boarding for others. It’s a must if you have pets !.Version: 24.0124.01

Best platform for responsible dog owners.Love this space as it is very safe and customer service is just amazing. The only minus is the charge is quite big - it should be adjusted slightly for example earning less than 10£ should be 10%. I love this experience and it encourage me do my dog trainer course - think about adding this to your services! I also have therapy dog - this could be something to add to your services. Overall I love rover and I can’t wait to meet more pooches and cats. I’m also interested in looking after horses! Think about expanding this services..Version: 23.0726.01

Safe and lovable pair of handsElena was a fantastic feeder, she really cares about the cats and looked after them really well. This is the first time I have used Elena for my 4 cats - already booked again for a weekend away. It was great receiving an update and photos every day and good to know they were in a safe and lovable pair of hands!.Version: 23.0405.00

Good service, but it could be more user friendlyI have been a dog walker and pet sitter on Rover for a couple of months now. I’ve gotten connected with many people in my neighborhood and make good money doing it. My only issue with the app is that it’s not the most user friendly for those trying to book services. For example, I had a woman asking me to check in on her pets over 4th of July weekend. She has 3 dogs and a cat and wanted me to check on them once on the 3rd, three times on the 4th, and once on the 5th. The first issue with that is that is that she would have had to create at least 2 separate bookings because the app doesn’t allow users to choose a different amount of visits for different days. My second issue was that the app should have charged her my holiday rate (x3 days), the additional dog rate (x2, because she had two additional dogs) (x3 days), and then one additional cat rate (which is $0 in my case, cats are easy). Instead the app tried to charge her for 9 total visits and the holiday rate for each of her pets which brought her total to over $700 which is wayyyyyy over what her actual total should have been. Luckily we caught this before going through with our booking. I’ve had several other instances similar to this, but this was the most extreme. The app needs to update its UI so this issue doesn’t occur..Version: 20.0609.00

They always treat our babies like their ownI’ve been using this service for several years now. First when I had a roommate with a dog way too excited and super hostile with its love and affection like from a loving place but like basically wanted to straight up make out with you… and now that I have my own baby… an adult fat cross eyed bow legged cat. I’ve used everything from boarding to walking when I was out of town to drop in visits through this service … all has been spectacular! At the end of the day, our home is really our pets home and we are just their sugar mommies and daddies, but even more it’s where they feel safe and loved in their territory. A hotel, a daycare… it’s just not the same and not appropriate in many cases. The only issue I’ve ever had is moving… it’s somewhat messed up my account showing my location to me for service but was showing the rover person my old location. I’m not sure why it didn’t link easily, but something to be mindful if you move often or are a rover agent, to make sure your location is correct..Version: 23.1115.01

4/5I’ve had a great experience being a dog sitter on Rover. My only complaint is that 20% fee they take is pretty high and that app has major glitches when I try to send videos to my customers. Also it’s really annoying to keep receiving emails when i give my number to the customer. Sometimes the person who requested the sitting isn’t the one meeting with me but their spouse instead, so i forward my number for easier communication. Overall is you’re willing to work and have enough space to host multiple clients like me you’ll be making a really good amount of money. I made sure to put my cancellation for 2 days prior. I’ve had too many people be disrespectful towards my time and try to cancel last minute because they found someone cheaper or their friend told them last minute they can watch their pets. People have to understand that i reserved this time for their pet and them canceling last minute messes my schedule up when i could have booked with someone who would have followed through. So i appreciate rover still paying us sitters a little even if we have a cancellation . I do this part time and I’ve watched my monthly earnings go from $900 a month and I’m about to have my biggest month yet that will be $4000..Version: 23.0712.00

Wonderful Time! Our puppy loved being with Irena and her family! They took such good care of her for a week! Irena shared pictures and updates while we were away! Great communication and friendly family! Definitely recommend!.Version: 23.1213.00

Read if you plan to sit. Great app BUT could have some qualifications for the doggy’sI’ve been a sitter on rover for over two months and have had many different dogs with different personalities. However some owners have no decency when it comes to leaving their unbehaved dog with people. I believe rover is a great app for people to find sitters and sitters to sit but there was a person who left their dog with me and the dog, chewed my pillows, is impossible to walk and sprints max speed dragged his two owners and my mother, constantly barks for long periods of time with no reason he’ll have food, water, and has been let out but will continue to bark. The bark isn’t quiet it’s a loud screeching deep bark. They left me a crate incase he misbehaved, I didn’t plan on using it for punishment for him personally I wanted him to like to sleep in his crate and be comfortable. However after he chewed the pillows and kept barking I put him in the crate. Nothing changed he still continued to bark. Myneighborhors complained. I just feel as though if you leave your dog with someone, even a professional, make sure it’s wel trained so it’s not a inconvenience for the sitter tending with other dogs..Version: 21.0818.01

Rover needs to step it up for 20%For 20% of our earnings Rover needs to step it up. First, I would say Rover needs to fix the app, it sends messages about new features and has a clicker ”try now” that doesn't work. The other complaint is the daycare or sitting feature, the client's and I are texting and not even using the app, but you're supposed to do everything through the app, like the start of the visit, walks, pees and poops. I'm walking three dogs and im supposed to check in on an app, take picture enter how many times the went. It's a little cumbersome because I am sending pics throughout the day through rovers text in my messages. The app is not easy to use! I care for many dogs for friends and through rover, I don't need to keep track of trying to use a difficult application that should be easy for the price. Second is Rover's support sucked! Period, after it took me hours to speak with someone, not an emergency, they were no help and had a typical corporate response. I will say I have met some fun and great dogs. I'm just not sure why Rover feels they need 20% seems a bit much for the service they provide..Version: 19.12.04

HelpfulI started using rover about a year ago, I love the freedom to set my own schedule and ensure all potential sitters and clients are checked using rover! It gives me a bit more confidence in picking who I would like to work with. I’ve met many different pets through the app so it’s a great way to safely advertise and book people in. I have a mission to pet all the best pets and Rover is helping me to achieve that! 😁.Version: 23.0517.00

Great but recently has a glitchI’ve only been using rover for about 3 weeks now as a sitter and it’s already brought in a significant amount of income for me. I’m a stay at home mom and have been searching for something I can do from home and so far rover has worked out perfectly. I take pretty much any client as long as they get along with kids and other dogs. I already have tons of booking and a few repeats clients. I’ve liked the small updates the app has had but just yesterday, all of my pending bookings are showing a “pending owners response” highlight at the top of our messages as if I sent them a booking request. Which I haven’t to any of them. I’m not sure if it’s just a glitch on my end but if it has actually send requests it may cause me to look bad and potentially lose clients and money. I almost always meet the family and dog before sending a request or accepting one so this is an issue for me. I’ve tried logging out, deleting the app and everything else I can think of but the “glitch” won’t go away. I’m hoping this issue is resolved quickly..Version: 3.73.0

Great and simple appI like the design, features and the possibility to create cards with all activities the dogs I look after do. Simple and clear to book and I like that there is a possibility for me to add notes for each dog I had for a future reference. The only thing I’m looking for is the possibility to also rate and see the rates of the dogs/owners profiles - us, pet sitters- would also love to have some sort of indication whether our doggy clients are good boys and girls (to also see other dog sitter’s opinions on the dogs and their parents). Dear Rover Team, would it be possible to enable such option (even if it’s just visible only when we are approached by the certain person)? Thanks!.Version: 21.0421.01

Would’ve been 5 stars but…I’m a walker/sitter on the app and I would’ve given 5 stars if it weren’t for the fact that the app still deletes all text if you leave the app or even if you just press the sleep/wake button that takes you to the lock screen. This is infuriating because countless times I’ve been filling in my Rover card for a client and I lose all of what I’ve written and have to do it over again. If you could change it so this no longer happens you might just have the perfect app on your hands. It’s ridiculous to me because no other app does this, so why does the Rover app do it? Please fix it, I beg..Version: 23.1213.00

Mostly useful appAs a sitter this app has some issues. Small improvements would give this app 5 stars. For example rather than just seeing a detailed view of “today”’s schedule it would be good to have all days laid out in the same way, so you could click on any day and see detailed overview. A bit like the iPhone calendar. Also when clicking on a pending or upcoming booking you can only see the full price that the owner pays. It would be good to see what the take-home earnings are for the sitter after rover’s cut..Version: 22.0713.01

Great App and really provides an opportunity to have moneyThis app is amazing! I would not have clients or even be able to have a business if it was not for a roller. This app is amazing and I definitely recommend it to everyone. I am able to have a repeat clients and make a good amount of money just using this app. This app has provided me with supplemental income and also long-standing clients that want to repeatedly use my services no matter what. This app works really well and it really makes it great to stay in communication with clients. The only thing I wish the app did have is that when you go to the calendar to do your availability I do wish that the app would also show your upcoming bookings like if you have three clients booked for a few days and then you got somebody coming a new it should show all of your bookings and showing what you have in the calendar so when you look at the calendar you see three bookings for Monday and then on Wednesday gonna get just dog for example and then two we’re leaving on Friday like it should show the bookings like that that would really take the app up a notch..Version: 21.0421.01

Fantastic service with great sittersI have found four wonderful sitters through Rover and a fifth who does Rover in a different area. All have looked after my dog with great care and I encourage others to use them. I also find the platform easy to use and the customer service has been excellent and responsive..Version: 24.0110.00

ReviewThe apps great but you can’t here should be an option to leave a review on the owners. When boarding dogs some of them don’t offer a meet and greet so you have literally no true insight on the dog. There are sitters that will have great reviews but different levels of skills. A dog that is not trained cannot stay with a level 1 sitter regardless of the reviews and this cannot be something that gets found out on day of drop off whilst the owners trying to catch a flight (lied about their dogs behaviour).Version: 22.0928.03

I have recommended enough times!I can still remember when I was signing up on the app. It wasn’t as quick as I thought it would take me ngl, but so worth it. It’s been a game changer to my life. I knew I love dogs before bur I have come to love dogs even more since I signed up to this app. The reasons for just how great it is comes to a list. I’m so grateful and I am always recommending it to people who loves both dogs and cats, also for owners. It just gives me so much peace of mind to know that dogs are being cared for. 🤍.Version: 21.1110.00

Sitting for GingerStephanie & Chris are great, will definitely use their services again. Regular updates and amazing care of Ginger who had a great time hanging out with Charlie. Thanks again!.Version: 24.0110.00

Great but sadly has a few flaws! This app has been amazing for me finding some new clients, however they have all switched to messaging me through Whatsapp or text as they have found the app either confusing or hard to navigate. Therefore a couple of my bookings were never accepted on here but still went ahead and then there seems to be no option for them to leave me a review regardless of whether the booking was accepted on here or not which I really think needs to be changed! When first starting out as a new business the reviews are the most important thing and mean more bookings as a result so I feel this option would be really beneficial and therefore help me to get even more clients and continue to use this app to help me build my business..Version: 22.1130.00

A professional appRover has made it easy for us to look after dogs, something we love doing. We have our own dog and we are able to see if each dog we look after is a good fit for everyone. Booking and payments has been smooth so far and any contact we have had to have has been dealt with in a professional manner..Version: 23.0809.02

What Rover means??I think Rover is a great idea!!! It’s an ideal opportunity for people that are looking to go on holiday can choose from many home borders, that fit their particular criteria, and have peace of mind knowing that their fur babies are going to have a great holiday and are being well looked after! Just perfect!!.Version: 22.0601.00

Great resourceI am a hairdresser, so I don’t get out of work until 7pm which is usually the cutoff pickup times for most doggy daycares. I used this service and even made friends with some of my sitters! This app is slightly buggy (for some reason my friend who is on the sitting end of this and right near me doesn’t show up on the map for me, also, it doesn’t let you have the sitters listed by distance). But it’s such a good app. It’s great to have people who love dogs watch your pup, and have flexibility. Oh but one thing- it would be nice to be able to block sitters (probably customers as well) who don’t work out. I had someone not good and I can’t make a notation and she pops up on my rebook page, and in my search. Also- it would be nice if there were some way to work with the fact that I’m using the filter that I have a puppy, but get filtered out because he isn’t fixed. Many people say they take puppies, and I assume they would be fine since he’s too young to fix until he’s 6 months old! Normally I’d agree with that rule- but adult dogs and infant puppies not fixed are entirely different things!.Version: 19.12.04

Love the service, not so much the app!I love Rover! It's an amazing service for dog owners and dog sitters. But the app needs some improvement. The calendar is pretty much useless as it doesn't show your bookings..Version: 3.40.0

Great app, exactly what we neededEasy to use, well thought out and very simply laid out. We love the rover cards with photos you get at the end of check in, and the support system puts your mind at ease. After our first update, we looked forward to our rover cards from the app coming through every day! We found a really great sitter who is friendly and professional and our cats have really taken to her. So easy to rebook too, we’ve just booked again with her for our next few days away!.Version: 22.0928.00

From Zero to Fully Booked in 3 Days! This is an amazing app. We set up our profile and received booking requests almost immediately. The app is simple to use and makes communication with pet owners effortless. The perfect tool for running a pet sitting and dog walking business whilst you’re on the move..Version: 23.0405.00

DoggiesosI’ve found some amazing dog sitters on this app it’s convenient and affordable and most importantly my puppy is well taken care of!.Version: 23.1213.00

Great service but one suggestionThis app helps provide an invaluable service for busy dog owners but it would be even better for both us and sitters if there was an option to select in between a Drop-In visit and an overnight stay, so that we could indicate easily that we require sitting for a number or hours rather than overnight. I know we can do this in the message function but it would just refine things a little. That said, apart from one person who just didn’t show up and has since given no explanation, we have had great experiences..Version: 22.0810.00

What has happened to DogBuddy 😩With an app like this it is ESSENTIAL to have a favourites list!!! I am so gutted as I live in a city where it is not easy to find decent dog sitters and I had created a trusted favourites list that has now gone. Very upset with the change and would appreciate it if we could still use the old app but with your new logo on it as the old app was much better. If you don’t make some upgrades very soon, I’m afraid you will lose most your clients.......Version: 19.12.31

Couldn’t recommend it moreI love rover. I’m a dog sitter and rover has put me in touch with lovely owners in need of some dog sitting. I met some of the best dogs ever through it :) I also like that we can set our own prices without any limitations. I’d definitely recommend it wether you’re looking for a dog sitter or you’re looking to be a dog sitter.Version: 21.0707.00

Big helpHad issue finding someone for dog boarding and Rover sorted that problem, it was quick and easy. Only problem I had was uploading photos or videos of my pet, which took long time and some of it didn’t uploaded at all. But still I would recommend this app because it’s very useful when you have a pet :).Version: 22.0406.01

Overnight stayWhat a good find Abigail and her lovely family have been. Communication was great from the beginning. Following an initial meeting on neutral grounds, our little Frenchie Dave was welcomed into their home for a short trial visit, which went very well. Dave then spent a day and over night with them and their own dog Obi. We received an update message halfway through the visit and overnight and Dave did not want to leave, which I think says it all. We will definitely be booking Dave in for some more visits to Abigail & her family..Version: 23.0628.01

Good app but the company needs workI love the concept of the app! It’s a great way to connect owners to qualified sitters in the area. However I believe River needs to do more to ensure the safety of the sitters. They have a rover guarantee that will cover vet care and expenses if a dog is injured during a stay but offer no such protections for sitters. I understand that watching dogs is a risk but the fact that owners and dogs aren’t subject to background checks or vaccination requirements is a bit annoying. I got bit in the face while playing with a dog and ended up having to get stitches and have permanent scaring. Rover covered absolutely nothing and the only way to get the owner to pay was to take them to civil court and sue, which I decided against out of fear of lowering my Rover reputation due to a bad review from them in retribution. After the fact I found out that this wasn’t the first time the dog had expressed aggressive behavior during play and had bit his owner a few time prior to this incident. This was not relayed to me during the meet and greet when I asked if the dog had any aggressive tendencies or toy possessiveness. I followed all steps of the Rover policy prior to and during the booking and feel that I should have had some protections against this incident. It’s crazy that the dogs expenses can be covered but not the sitters..Version: 20.0211.00

Pretty great all aroundI started using rover when I moved states to find someone to care for my pups when we’re gone. The app made it easy to find people close to us and sitter profiles make it easy to find someone you think is the best match and contact them. As I sitter Rover has been great at helping me build my business. Im a nursing student and I’ve been able to build a flexible business that I enjoy that brings in enough income to support my family. The app makes it easy to see what is on my schedule daily and communicate with my clients. There are a few things they could do to make it easier for me to modify my clients bookings as needed. My biggest complaint is how ridiculous the fees are for both pet parents and pet sitters. I understand they have to make money too and as the middle man they absolutely deserve their cut. They also provide rover support, vet help and other things that protect both the sitter and pets. But taking 20% of the sitters income from every service PLUS adding 3-5% in rover fees to pet parents service total is insane. Seems a little greedy if you ask me and that not how you keep sitters and pet parents to continue using the app for the their services..Version: 23.0322.01

Rover dog boardingI was looking for someone to look after my dog while I travelled to Europe as I didn’t want to leave her in a kennel. I happened to stumble across the rover app and found an amazing dog sitter near by, well priced and who was absolutely amazing with my dog. I will definitely be using the service again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a dog sitter/boarder..Version: 24.0124.01

Great for sittersI am a full time mom and have been sitting through Rover for almost 2 years now. I absolutely love the pets and people I’ve met. I love how the app is now that it’s updated. This app is great because of the drop-in options. Pets can get quality time with a sitter while owners are out of town. I’ve only ever had one request to walk their dog. Overall I love everything but I really debated between 3 & 4 stars. Rover really needs another option to receive payments. I’ve been using PayPal because I don’t want to wait for a check during slow times and it’s only $20. I really don’t trust PayPal though. I should be able to securely connect my bank account directly to Rover. My only other concern is fake profiles. I’ve gotten a couple that requested an outrageous amount of drop-ins with no photos and no info whatsoever of the animals. And never heard back from them. So every time I get a new request I get suspicious, because so far all my recent ones have no photos or info. Rover needs to require this info before allowing owners to book. If it weren’t for all of my regular clients I would quit using Rover altogether for both of these issues..Version: 21.0929.02

Great App for both, pets owners and pet sittersRover App, based on my own experience is a great platform. Pets owners can easy find a carer for their pets, that’s suits their needs. Pet sitters on the other side, offers their services, setting their preferences as well. Rover App is effective, keeping both parts in touch and in contact. Customer service is very effective and available for a chat or online support 24/7. Rover App from my perspective, being a dog sitter, giving me a lot off flexibility, all transactions are secured, there are rules and policies. I had only good experience while operating on this platform. Strongly recommend it for both, pets owners and pets sitters..Version: 23.1115.01

I get paid to hang out with pets!My friend told me about this app and I decided to give it a try as a side job. I was a little skeptical when I had to pay for a background check. However after being a pet sitter for over a year and starting my little enterprise, this has really turned out to be a worthwhile investment. I love how I can modify my rates, create a profile with my own pictures, and write my own bio. Plus, everyone I have sat for have been extremely friendly and grateful that their fur babies were taken care of. If you love pets and don’t mind waking up early when the dog wants a walk, this is for you! And if you are a pet owner looking for a trustworthy app, this is the app for you! Plus the app is constantly updated to be even more detailed and convenient, such as video calls in place of meet and greets during the pandemic, and modifying a booking after it’s been confirmed. My only issue was that one time a false account contacted me about sitting their puppy. The person with the same name contacted me twice with different dog pictures on both profiles. Thankfully I did not meet up with this person and reported it. But I wish Rover would require a picture of the owner, or at least a picture of their pet, because now when I receive requests with photoshopped photos, or requests without photos, I sometimes feel skeptical about sitters’ safety..Version: 20.0729.00

App works well…with some UI issuesApp works.Version: 23.1004.00

My experienceHas been great. Customers are friendly and customer support are punctual with quality information. Software works near flawlessly.Version: 23.1004.00

Good, but needs an hourly rate for sittersThis app is a great way to earn a little extra money on the side. It has information to support sitters readily available, and makes it easy to set your preferences and catchment area. The only thing is that house sitting and day care are charged per visit rather than on an hourly rate. This means the sitter’s pay is variable and can be really unfair and way below minimum wage. You wouldn’t expect to pay a babysitter ‘per visit’ and the job sitters do is similarly involved and a role of trust and responsibility. I would be able to dedicate more of my time to building a business and client relationships through this app if I could properly manage pay rate and keep it consistent per hour. Developers, please work this in! I love everything else about working as a Rover sitter :).Version: 21.0804.00

Game ChangerMy husband and I have 4 indoor cats of varying age and have been using Rover when we travel for twice daily 30 minute check-ins for over 2 years now. We absolutely love it! Prior to Rover, when we would travel (which is quite often) we would be driving our cats to my parents house nearly an hour away where they would stay while we were away, or scrambling to find a petsitter. They hate being in the car and would sometimes get carsick on the trip, and we had a couple of bad experiences with petsitters coming to our house. It was a huge source of stress for all of us. Since using Rover, we feel completely at ease knowing that our Petsitter is reliable, responsible, trustworthy and passionate about kitties! We joke that our youngest cat has a crush on her because he is such a ham in all the photos we receive when we are away. I tell everyone about River and how much it has changed things for us. If you are considering it, go for it! You will be so happy you did..Version: 21.0623.00

Terrific Service!Rover has been an immeasurable support to me personally and for our family as a whole. Starting with preparations for our big move and needing daycare while busy with contractors and in-home downsizing, to landing in our new home and city and needing assistance from time to time while busy with this house and various people involved in renovations etc. We have met terrific people who love our dog as much as we do and have provided excellent care while we are away or extremely busy. I’ve recommended Rover to my new neighbour who signed on also and looks fwd to the difference between personal care and attn versus a large scale multi dog kennel business. I can’t say enough about Rover!.Version: 23.1101.00

Amazing careThank you again for a wonderful daycare day with Noodles! It was cold, but you still did walks and spent time with our big boy. He missed you guys!.Version: 23.1213.00

First timerI liked the app, but when I’d had someone booked in and they cancelled on me last minute, Rover called me to ask if they could help and gave me £20 for my inconvenience. I’ve not experienced this kind of customer service before! Great app so far, I’ve been travelling in a camper van needing doggy day care now and then and it’s easily THE BEST app use all over Europe that I have I’ve found. Thank you 😊.Version: 23.0322.01

Dog WalkingKatherine was awesome and reliable. Leo really liked her and I’m sure enjoyed her walk :).Version: 23.1213.00

Great App, but would do some changes.I’m working as a sitter on Rover, it’s amazing how fast you can found clients. But what I would suggest to change section with pricing. As a sitter I found looking after large dogs it’s more challenging, small dogs are easy to maintain. We sitters should be able to choose price for a large and small dog. I know you can modify booking with price, but it’s doesn’t feel right after client sent request. I got right now middle price. If I can set lower price for small dogs it will attract more clients and with large dogs I wouldn’t decline if it’s for a right price..Version: 23.0208.01

Sitter and used the serviceThis is an excellent service. Brilliant idea. I enjoyed my vacation with a sitter coming to my home, and it went perfectly. Now I’m watching a dog for someone else, and it is awesome Amazing all around. Loving Rover !!!.Version: 23.1129.00

Pretty goodApp works pretty well, but sometimes can be quite glitchy. Bare spots on the map on the walk route card, even with location always on for the app. Sometimes Rover card fails to send for a long time even when all my other apps are working (so it’s a Rover issue not connectivity issue). The worst thing is that they take 20% of your pay in an already kinda low paying job. I get 20% or even more for the first job, because they help you find the client, but 20% each time is such a ripoff. The client is staying with me because of me, not because of Rover, and I have my own insurance so it’s not doing me any services. In fact the jobs I take outside of Rover are less work - texting my clients photos and updates is easier than dealing with the app. Rover needs to lower the cut they take after the first job with a new client to 5% or less. ALSO - Pet owners that want to hire someone on Rover should also have background checks or at least reviews available for sitters to see. Sitters get background checks but owners don’t and it can be dangerous entering a total stranger’s home. I don’t take any overnight jobs on Rover because I feel like that would beincredibly unsafe. And also because 20% of a house sitting fee is huuuuge and makes the job not even worth it..Version: 23.1004.00

Great idea and so far so good!Having a great time with my family looking after dogs with lots of different characters and needs. We adore all dogs of all natures sizes and looks and Rover supports to a very high level. Thankyou so much Rover for a great idea, great service and lots of wonderful experiences….Version: 24.0207.00

Great side hustle!I’m pleased with Rover and have been a walker/sitter for almost 4 years. It was a slow start at first but I gradually have built up a good side hustle with many awesome clients. I have contacted Rover customer support only a few times over the years and they were always professional. My only suggestion is for the booking time slots to be made available at quarter to and quarter after (ie: 12:15-12:45). This would greatly help account for driving time in between clients. Often times my back to back clients all get pushed back because I have to drive 15 mins to their location..Version: 23.1018.01

The BEST Side HussleOkay listen! If you are looking for a fun, easy, you make your schedule side hustle. This is the app for you!!! I’ve been a sitter for about 8 months or so and you get paid to hang out with dogs! If you have a dog who isn’t the right fit - you don’t have to take them back again! You have a ton of options for t the dogs you take care of, that can fit your space and lifestyle! Seriously. Get the app!.Version: 22.0209.00

Pretty good. Would like small improvementsI have been using rover for over a year now. I’ve used about 10-15 different dog sitters and I’ve had a 95% success rate. I have had mostly awesome experiences and 2 bad ones (sitter wasn’t home when I dropped off or picked up and didn’t answer calls) :( but if that’s the worse thing, not too bad. My one suggestion to this app would be to develop a block function. A way for me to block certain sitters from coming up in my future searches. Sometimes a sitter tells you they won’t watch your dog, or if you have a bad experience (like them no showing up) ... it would be nice if they didn’t keep showing up in your searches. If they added this feature the app would be nearly perfect in my opinion. It is a bit annoying for me to try and remember which sitters had already told me no in the past or had some other reason for not being able to watch my dog. Then I end up having a weird conversation with them all over again. That being said - I can’t speak for all areas and sitters (because I’ve heard horror stories) ... but I’ve tried many sitters in So. Cal. (SGV) and I keep coming back for more because the good far outweighs the couple unreliable people out there..Version: 20.0211.00
