– Simple, Accessible Controls
The control system has been streamlined to work perfectly with modern touch interfaces.
The position of the directional pad can be adjusted freely, enabling players to switch between one-handed and two-handed play with a tap of the screen.
The combat system has also been reworked, allowing for one-tap battles as well as more complex play.

– The Tension System
During battle, you can select 'Psyche Up' to give your next attack some extra oomph!
The more you psyche a character up, the higher their tension will rise, until they finally reach an insane state known as super-high tension!

– Skill Points
Skill points are earned when your characters level up, and can be assigned to various skills in order to learn new spells and abilities.
This system allows you to perfectly tailor your team to your liking.

– Monster Teams
Certain monsters found in the field can be scouted for your monster team – if you're tough enough to beat them, that is!
Once assembled, your crack squad can take part in the fiercely contested tournaments held at the monster arena, and can even come to your aid in battle!

– The Alchemy Pot

✓ You're better off on PS2...This game was my childhood. I finished it when I was 7. Fast forward to now, I'm 12, saw this port, and halfed the price with my dad. As expected I love the feel, the anime-esqe graphics, and the gripping music. On PS2, I rate 11/10, but there are a couple things letting the iOS port down. These are worse graphics, no voice acting, NAD the plain, boring, hard to organize inventory, all of which are perfect on PS2. That is why this is 4/5. If you want this get it on PS2 if you can, if not this is fine too. Now just port the remake to Xbox Innit just 3DS AND PS4, Square, you disappoint me. This is without a doubt the best Dragon Quest out there, and a perfect place to go for people new to the series. I will set you a challenge: beat THE DRAGOVIAN TRIALS at the ageof8, like I did. This is one of the few games, I can confidently say am good at..CraftinHaloNutsVersion: 1.1.1

✗ Dismally bad portIt's difficult to gauge the quality of the underlying game as this port is truly awful. On both my iPad Mini 2 and my iPhone 6 the frame rate is in single figures. Add to that the illogical decision to force the game into portrait mode and you have a port of stunningly awful proportions. ✗ Cloud saves don’t work, devs abandoned this appCloud saves would make a world of difference and they used to work until the last update. The feature has not worked since. Port is decent although there are no voices and the controls can get frustrating as well as the inability to play landscape. Buy a better port on a different console/device, this is not worth the money since they don’t support the app any longer and won’t resolve the bugs they introduced with their last update. Pretty disappointing..ThegraffixVersion: 1.1.2
