✓ The best finance tracker on the App Store.I have tried countless finance tracking apps, but Debit/Credit is easily the best one on the market. I was using Toshl for a year and when they "upgraded" to their second version everything I'd hoped for in the upgrade was instead filled with tackiness. So began my search for another platform to track my finances until I found this. It's easy to use, great UI, design is on point and they're constantly updating their application. After a week of using it, I wasn't at all hesitant upgrading to their premium service and I can see myself using this app for the long run..Version: 2.0.1

✓ Oh. My. GoodnessI can’t tell you how many bank balancing apps I’ve tried, subscriptions I’ve sampled, painstaking nights I’ve had reconnecting accounts, fixing data, etc. This app is EVERYTHING. If you are looking for something automatic to track your funds, this app isn’t for you. But if you are truly dedicated to updating your transactions and keeping track of where everything’s going, this app will be a godsend for you. This app does it all. It makes me feel like I am able to manipulate my own bank accounts and keep track of how much I’m spending on what and where everything truly flows and it’s BEAUTIFUL. I love that I can make unlimited accounts and add my own values to things, especially with things like depreciating assets that don’t necessarily have an account, but I like to keep an eye on its value which this app does it all. The seamless integration to your calendar, the notifications, the scheduling feature, I can’t emphasize it enough. There might be hesitation to pay $20 a year for this, but it far beats a painstaking spreadsheet that isn’t accessible on your phone. Oh, and not only is this app accessible on your phone, you can upload receipts, add notes, etc and sync it to icloud to view on your mac, iPad, etc. Wow wow wow..Version: 6.2.1
✓ Honest reviewHi! I have had this app for years now. I never had an issue with it until earlier this year (2018) and reached out to support. I got a response quickly and was happy. The app is worth the money I believe. I see there are some negative reviews but doesn’t elaborate on why the low score. Makes me wonder why? It if does what it says it would. ✓ Like app, would love if haven’t had issues.I did love this app cause it’s only app that I can find that ICloud sync between watch, iPad and iPhone work! It freaking works, but the main reason I didn’t give it 5, is because I’ve had days when app’s addition and subtraction doesn’t work correctly. I was racking my brain to reconcile my bank account ( which I’m OCD about doing everyday) and I entered every thing correctly, and balance was off (not by much) I had to go in and clear everything from days entry and start over, it corrected itself somehow. My question is this, how does a computer glitch cause math to NOT work? Has anyone else had this problem?.Version: 5.3.7

✓ Tried them all... it's the bestAfter being a Quicken windows user for years and now using only an iPad, I was at a loss for a financial record keeping app. that would fit my needs. ✓ The best way to budget if you don’t trust robotsI love being in control of my budget, and Debit & Credit gives me complete control and lots of tools to organize all my information. When checking bank or credit card apps can be confusing with available balance vs statement balance vs current balance, I always prefer checking my official log in Debit & Credit where I know what everything means and how much money is where. My only issue is the latest update that added folders has caused some weird bugs in the color scheme that make it hard to parse some information, but the addition of folders is a godsend so I’m not complaining..Version: 3.0

✓ Love it, but could improveThis is a fantastic app. I love the unlimited accounts. The extras, like budgeting, planning, and reports are awesome. Things I would change: Transactions: Adding the ability to split transactions to multiple categories and divide the funds. If I spend $100 at one store with $90 in groceries and $10 in pets, I currently have to create 2 transactions. Balances: I’d like to have the option of having the running balance show the uncleared balance, with the cleared balance on top. I’d also like to be able to change those options per account, so I can have one account with an uncleared balance and another with a cleared balance. Credit Accounts: I wish there was a way to input the interest rates on credit accounts and have it calculate any monthly fees. It would also be nice to change the option of viewing the available balance vs outstanding balance. It seems that one the account is created, this cannot be changed. Loan Accounts: An option for loan accounts would be beneficial. Again, with the option of adding the interest rate, so that I could see how much is going to principle and how much is going to interest. Overall, I like this app WAY more than Mint or Truebill..Version: 5.4

✓ Excellent alternative to MintI’ve been interested in a Mint alternative for years now. This app is exactly what I would have developed myself if I had the time. I love that it uses iCloud for storage so that my private information isn’t stored in any 3rd party storage/service. The syncing between devices is fast and seamless. The app is lightning fast compared to mint which makes it effortless to add transactions on the go. I don’t mind that there is no syncing capability that would require me to share my credentials or use a service like Plaid that then has access to my private financial information. I finally have a place to store all of my receipts in an organized way that’s available on all my devices. I think the $20/year for premium is very reasonable..Version: 6.1.5

I like that the company doesn’t have control of my information. ✓ Thrilled!I discovered this app after slogging through app after app that wouldn’t allow both myself and my husband to access and add transactions from our various devices. The fact that we can do that with this app, and have it on our Mac as well is incredible! We were terrible about letting our receipts pile up, then have a mountain of work to get our checking account ledger up to date. This app is very well executed. I thought there were a couple of features that we had on our previous desktop app that were missing, but upon looking at the settings, we are able to do everything we had been able to with that one. Transactions populate our various devices, including watch, incredibly quickly. So freaking happy! On short notice after YEARS of use.I needed something easy to set up, that was cost effective and easily and seemless when it came to syncing between devices without having to pay for multiple versions or platforms. My income is VERY limited . This fits perfectly. I love the simplicity compared to my previous app. My only 2 suggestions would be. Different color fonts for debits, credits, and balances. And 2. ✓ Good but problemsI have tried this app for a couple of months, and thought it was good so I bought it. However on further use I have discovered issues that mean I'm looking for an alternative. The transaction entry process becomes fiddly on repeated use with the date option tucked away under extra options. The reconcile process is really confusing and does not make reconciled transactions clear enough and they all reappear when you do it again. The worst issue though is scheduled transactions are not being entered automatically as I have set them to do a the date moves on but they don't appear in my account..Version: 1.8

I downloaded and tried too many to count and became super frustrated at the amount of time I spent without finding something I was happy with. Then I tried Debit & Credit. It's a very easy accounting app that backs up to the iCloud. I downloaded the app onto my iMac and loaded up my data. When I downloaded the app onto my iPad and iPhone the data showed up immediately. ✓ Best Customer Service from a Developer Ever!!Ivan (the developer) also makes the Parcel tracking app which I love. I bought Debit & Credit to change from another program (MoneyWell). There were initially some challenges trying to match features from the old program I was using. I emailed support and Ivan responded immediately. More recently I had an issue with iCloud sync trying to share the app with my wife. It turns out the problem is related to iCloud and I was exceeding the maximum number of entries that iCloud allows to be synced between 2 different iCloud accounts. Regardless, Ivan exchanged 15 emails (including on weekends) with me trying to come up with work-arounds. He even created different “test” versions of the App for me to try in order to see if I could sync all my transactions successfully. Best customer service from any App Developer that I have ever experienced!!.Version: 2.7.3

✓ Best finance appI’ve waited awhile to review Debit & Credit. I’m using the premium versions on my Mac and IOS devices. The developer really understands how to make a complicated task easy to do. The interface is remarkably uncluttered, so much so one thinks “this can’t be any good , it’s not complicated enough”. This is where the app really shines , making money management easy to do. The integration between Mac and IOS is seamless. Having bought and used many finance programs over the years Debit & Credit is the best. A special note on their support, had an issue at first when I had the trial version, emailed them , within 15 minutes had a reply that fixed the problem! ✓ Very impressed!What a great app and what a savior solution to the dilema I had after the other app I had been using stopped working with iOS 10. I had about 9 years of my checking account register in that app, and was luckily able to export into a CSV file and import everything into Debit & Credit. I just finished reconciling two years of bank statements with the Mac app, and I use the iPhone version every day as I make purchases. Absolutely love the simplicity, design and “it just works” aspect of this app and the mobile version. I’m pleasantly surprised by how well and fast iCloud sync is between my Mac, iPad and iPhone. Well worth the price! Over the last year, I reached out to the developer with a few feature requests. Because I use this app daily, I thought I’d ask, knowing I probably would never hear anything back. However, I am pleased to say I received replies from the developer very quickly, and my requests are now part of the app I use every day on my Mac and devices, THANKS! ✓ Really impressive!I've been looking for an app to replace moneywiz as I don't want to pay £4.99 a month for an app that I only use offline. So far, this app does everything that I'm looking for. It was instantly clear that upgrading for a one-off payment of £3.99 was going to give me exactly what I need. I can schedule income and bills and the reports are clear with a clean, simple interface. Editing is simple and you can add/remove categories to personalise spending and income. ✓ This is STILL the one!Edit: I have restarted using this app again after a very long period of time. I must say I really missed using this app, the ease of input, the simplicity of everything and the simple yet powerful UI make this in my opinion still the best finance tracking app ever. I was pleasantly surprised on the HUGE improvements I had missed out on (since 2017) the one improvement that stands out to me above all is the receipt/bill scanner -it’s fantastic! You know usually if you snap a photo of a receipt they always seem to be longer than the camera can handle (especially supermarket ones!) so you end up with an untidy ugly photo of your dining table/worktop/desk etc with a receipt in the middle of it like some hideous border. But no more! This brilliant app takes a snap of your receipt, gets rid of the background, and zooms it in and makes the receipt scrollable! Bravo! Keep up the excellent work Developers. I would still like to see some customisations options though please: different fonts to choose from and colours, ability to add a thumbnail icon for my bank or better still to be able to have the background of my account (in list view) with an opaque custom background. Original review: Firstly, let me start by saying this is a brilliant app. It’s clean, minimalist but has the power and features you need. I have tried nearly every free finance/budget app there is, and have to say this is by far the easiest to use. I found other apps so very confusing with so many options and weird ways to input data that it became a chore. I upgraded to the pro version for a one-off fee to unlock some features which I feel is very reasonable. Also the support is brilliant, I had an issue, the developer replied to me very quickly asked me to send him a screen recording of the issue and got back to me to say it will be fixed in the next update! Brilliant! If I could wish for some new features, they would be that while entering information for a new transaction, to have the ability to create a new category or Account from within the new transaction page. If I’m creating a new transaction and the category is not pre-defined in settings, I have to quit the transaction, go to settings, create my new category (usually under a parent category) then start the transaction again. The other thing that would be good is when tapping on a transaction it would be good to have a ‘view’ option where it shows the transaction and all other information without having to use ‘edit’ Also would it be possible to have more/custom colours? I love the design of the colours at the moment the way they increase in shade as bars, but I would like to be able to have darker ‘bars’ in negative accounts to highlight them. (I have multiple accounts and it get a little confusing trying to see at a glance) Keep up the good work and look forward to some new features..Version: 3.2.6

It turns out that the family member also needs a premium account to view more than two accounts even though they are MY accounts under MY premium subscription. Developer stated this is listed under the subscription terms but it is hidden everywhere else including in the section of the user manual “Shared Accounts Limitations.” Developer answered email promptly just wish we could share more than two spending accounts..Version: 2.10.5
✓ The budgeting app for the apple ecosystemIf you’re in the apple ecosystem and are wondering what it would look like if apple made a budgeting app; look no further. The focus on privacy, the iCloud backups, private iCloud sharing and the thoughtfulness of the design embody everything that Apple wishes developers would do with their apps. Every time I’ve wondered if this app has a feature I need, I’ve found it exactly where I’d expect it to be. That’s a big deal; not only do the features work well but the app is so intuitive. I wrote a Siri shortcut using this app’s integrations to privately pull transactions from my bank, my wife and I look at those on my MacBook’s big screen once and month and set up plans there. During the month, we can glance at the Home Screen widget to see our budgets live on our phones. Occasionally we’ll pick up the iPad and it’s all right there too. As a developer and a privacy focused spreadsheet guru, thank you for building such a great app and keeping it up to date with new features and bug fixes. ✓ Doing it RightLet me get this out of the way. Debit and Credit is THE personal finance app for the Apple ecosystem. The design is simple, whilst remaining flexible and intuitive, despite this, there is an outrageous amount of power under the hood. Every transaction can be categorised including the ability to assign multiple categories with varying amounts of the whole transaction, perfect for recording expenses that are partially tax deductible. You can generate reports, charts and forecasts with the tap of a button. iCloud sync is seamless between iOS and the Mac, you can attach photos of receipts and even write notes for every transaction. Automatic categorisation and payee completion based on location is a genius feature, and the ability to pick a colour scheme for the whole app is a really nice touch. I have yet to find somethings that this app will not do for me. This is personal finance management done right, and the best part is. IT'S FREE. I upgraded to the premium version on iOS and the Mac after a week. Partially to get the ability to have more than two accounts, and partially to let the developers know that they are absolutely 100% Doing. It. Right..Version: 2.3.1
✓ Does what it saysIt isn’t cheap, especially as it is an annual cost, but that said having the free trial enables you to see what it does and it is excellent, possibly too much information for me to use but what I do need is perfect. Having bought other apps then find after a year or so they get glitches and you can’t do anything at least this one constantly updates etc and backs up as there is nothing worse than losing your money records. ✓ Great appThis app is very close to what I'm looking for an beats everything else for the price. Entering transactions is easy and unlike moneydashboard or similar web apps it allows you to track cash and create your own categories. The phone app also works really well. The only things I'd like to see improved functioning on are: 1) I can't seem to add subcategories--only main ones 2) I'd like to be able to see budgets in a view other than as a side task bar. It would be nice to have the ability to better visualize budgets with graphs etc. 3) it would be nice to have categories work in net. For example If I pay 200 pounds for a hostel but recieve 150 back from my friends, it would be nice if that showed as a 50 dollar expense vs a 200 expense and a 150 income--which then somewhat skew my budgets. ✓ Very useful appFor my finance purposes I have found this a very useful app. I love the lay out and that I can include a photograph of my receipts & other items - making it easier to keep track of what I spent each thing on. I also was pleased to be able to export my transactions to my tax accountant as an Excel document - making it a good tool for checking against the receipts I gave her. Just one or two small suggestions for improvement though. It was good that we could set the document to cover the financial year, but it would also be useful to be able narrow the document prior to export to cover only the wanted transactions (eg Charity) & also to be able to include, if possible, the photos of the receipts, etc. On the whole this is a great app and one I often recommend, keep up the good work :).Version: 2.4.2
✓ Great app, easy to useOver the years I’ve used a lot of personal finance apps, starting with Quicken many years ago. Three months ago, I switched to this one and have decided to stay. What attracted me were the many 4/5 star reviews; the occasional 1/3 star reviews were too vague to be much use although the developer’s replies were pertinent. This app on IOS and OS X is seamless and cloud sync works like a dream. Like other users, I don’t like apps automatic linking to my bank accounts, preferring to enter data manually; this feature isn’t provided here - result! Entering transactions is very simple and quick using a single screen most of the time. My only gripes are budgeting and reconciliation. I probably need to spend more time exploring the budgeting feature as it’s not intuitive. Reconciliation seems straightforward, but I’d prefer it if the app remembered the previous balance brought forward rather than me having to hunt for it outside the app. Also, showing only unreconciled transactions automatically would help. Looking to see how much money I have in the bank before I shop doesn’t work for me because I inevitably forget to allow enough for my bills. The budget section is its star feature but I have one suggestion for it, say you wanted to budget how much you spend but also factor in income made from the same categories. ✓ None betterI’ve been using this app (and others) for years. It is a wonderful app to do your account entries. It is very easy to setup and use and it also has a Mac App that syncs lightning fast to iCloud. I always loved this app and then I got an external keyboard with a numeric keypad and now I love it even more. The keyboard works as you would expect (tabbing etc) but of the other apps I use, this is the only one that does. If the other apps that I’ve spent time with went away or did some type of major change that I didn’t like; I wouldn’t be sad beause I have this app. It’s my goto app anyway. You might wonder why I use more than one checkbook app. The answer is that I found D&C later in life so I just keep using them. A bit of OCD perhaps. ✓ Best Home Finance App I’ve UsedI don’t usually write reviews but had to this time as I am so impressed with this app. At first it takes a while to input category data and set up the accounts and regular transactions. Once that is done, transactions are intuitive, quick and easy to enter and reconciliation of bank statements is a breeze. Reports are instant and fascinating to see. I have the Premium version and my husband is using the free version for now. We can both add transactions to the same account and work seamlessly with the app on our iPads and iPhones. Reassuringly everything is backed up automatically to iCloud. The more you use this app the more you will find ways of personalising it to make sure it does exactly what you need. To make it the absolutely best with no rivals at all (10 Stars!); I would like to se the future transactions—like the duplicates—gray out AND with the future balance also. It would be priceless! In fact, you could have only the “recurrent “ visible and gray out (right now they are not, only the “duplicate” are). Paid version is unlimited accounts and I use those for banks, credit cards, loans to and also from me, kids allowance balances, etc. I even track what I put in the coin jar with an Account that I named... wait for it... Coin Jar. Love the Plus and Minus and Transfer (between accounts) features but please fix it so when a Plus or Minus is edited, it can also be converted to a transfer. That functionality disappears for some reason and could save people a lot of steps when they convert from Free to Paid versions. ✓ What I was looking for.I use a reward credit card like a debit card so that I can get airline tickets. So I want to keep track of both my checking account & credit card charges. I also want to see a running total in real time so I know how much money I actually have. I thought this app did not do that. I initially experienced some frustration owing to my own preconceptions derived from other apps I have used. Once you can clear your mind and accept the app for what it is things quickly begin to fall into place. ✓ Love love love this appIf you like simple, it can do that. If you want robust functionality, it has that too. I’m a few days into the premium trial and I’m hooked. I’ve imported all my transactions. Setup scheduled recurring entries, including transfers between accounts. It auto-suggests previously typed entries. It added a calendar to my calendar app for the transactions I want to see in there. It has widgets, it works with schemes in the Shortcuts app with x-callback. It syncs fantastically between iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Yes, it also has a desktop Mac version. So cool. It continually surprises me with all the great functionality. This is the first app that does just what I am looking for. The interface is simple and understandable. I purchased the Premium level so I could load more than two accounts (I use four). Ivan has been very helpful since I began using his app. He responded to questions within 24 hours and often sooner. Like every financial app, there is a learning curve but I found this one to be very short. I have been using his app for about six months now and really appreciate it. ✓ I hate managing money......but I love this app. If, like me, you're not a fan of tracking your spending and you loathe spending hours in front of a screen doing just that, then this app may just be for you. There is very comprehensive help included in the app, such that it teaches you how to use the features without having to be an accountant, worrying about what the app is doing. I began by importing some bank transactions to get me started, read the help for the features I needed then began tracking my spending as I went. I have also shared the app with my spouse, so that we can both see what joint spending we are doing and ensure that we stay on budget. Very cleverly this app lets you optionally associate one or more locations with a payee, and it also allows you to tell Siri to create transactions. These are the days of increased privacy - this app has you covered there too. No data collection. As if all this wasn't enough, the developer is extremely responsive to help enquires, which is really nice to see. If you need an app that does money management, at a fair price, and with excellent service from the developer, I encourage you to consider supporting Debit & Credit..Version: 5.3.3
✓ The OSX version is good, the iOS version is mediocreThe OSX version is powerful and easy to use, no major issues. The iOS version wastes screen space by assigning about 1/3 of the screen to listing of account names and balances (in one line) and bookkeeping settings. The display of the important data is cramped into the remaining 2/3 of the screen. Running balances are listed in fine print and descriptions, categories, and payees are fused together, obscuring their meaning. The time when a transaction is entered is displayed also, a useless information, since it is unrelated to the time when the transaction is executed. The sharing of data between computers running OSX and iOS is a plus. I give the OSX Version five stars, the iOS version two stars..Version: 3.2.6

✓ First time knowing it exists, love it but would request some optionsI have been looking for a offline budget manager and was so pleased when I tried this out. I am now subscribed! Love the ease of use, how easy it is to change descriptions, etc. The only request I would have is to have an option to display transactions by payee and not description. Sometimes I like to be able to see the feed by seeing who I paid or bought from. Also on the “scheduled” side, when scheduling, it would be easier and more streamlined to allow the repeat options on the same screen below rather than tapping to go to another screen. Another thing I would appreciate is an option to display the credit limit against the amount owed on the main accounts screen..Version: 6.2

✓ The perfect app for me and my financesI was using an another app before but their privacy policy was no longer for me (using my financial info) This app is very powerful but have a clean and simply look. Two things that i miss on this app and it will be wonderful if it can be implemented its to be able to get some icons for the categories and payee because for example when we got a lot of categories it can be really difficult to found the one directly. ✓ Must Have Financial Tracking AppDebit and Credit is the best financial tracking app out there! I’ve tried numerous apps in the past, but this is the first one that has satisfied my needs without requiring me to wade through tons of unnecessary complicating features. The beauty of this app (in my opinion) lies in its simplicity. Everything is manual, so I keep it on my phone’s home screen and quickly enter in transactions right after I make them in real life. Ever since downloading the app, I have become much better about actually keeping track of where I’m spending my money in addition to sticking to budgets that I set. I also love that it has a desktop app, so I can easily see all of my purchases on my laptop as needed.
