✓ Didn’t really helpI read all the reviews and tried this app off and on for a couple of weeks and there was really only once where it actually worked in helping me sleep. Expensive and disappointing..Version: 4.5.2

✓ Far, faaaar too expensive.The product is not bad, but nothing to write home about. The ludicrous cost of $99 per year essentially gets you some more soundscapes and access to a female narrator. Woopity do. I purchased it because I liked the initial product- but WOW is it overpriced for the tiny little minuscule “extras” that you get. The typical response from these guys is “Well our competition costs more, and we still offer free service”. My recommendation is to stay free and don’t give them a penny until they offer more amenities. I purchased the 3 year option and I REGRET it. To clarify, I am in no way confused. The pay only options are not worth what I spent on them - not by a long shot. Look at all the previous reviews with a paid for/ free usage lense before you spend any money..Version: 4.3.7

✓ It’s ok, but…I downloaded this app so I could sleep better. After a few days I got a pop-up saying I had to purchase the subscription to change anything. Why is changing your settings for the sounds locked behind a paywall? I mean, I know you have to make money somehow but locking any customization is a bit far in my opinion. Now I’m not able to sleep well with it because I can’t customize any of my sounds. It’s truly annoying. If you will even take my review into consideration, I have an idea. Let people customize their sounds but make it slightly gated. What I mean by this is let people choose the categories they want a random sound from and if they want to choose a specific sound, that can be gated. It makes it so it’s not too much behind a paywall but enough that users are able to actually use the app well after their free trial ended. If you take my idea into consideration, maybe I’ll consider re-downloading the app..Version: 5.0.28
✓ Not really a sleep appIf you like Muzak then you will probably like this app. As a keen musician I found the “soundscapes “ extremely irritating with no way to turn them off. I did not sign up but see from other reviews that people have often been charged even when they thought they were using the free app. I trust this will not happen in this case. ✓ Power napIv used this app for the power nap for years (with out voice guidance) but recent upgrade has stopped working with earphones/headphones. Speaker is fine but due to the nature of power naps headphones are needed. ✓ I hate the new appI’m sorry, I hate the new version of the app. Not only is the new app way too expensive, the old app was better. I’ve long been an advocate of pzizz and had both the old energiser and sleep apps. I told a lot of my friends about them because I loved them so much. The voice wasn’t too overpowering and then it drifted off into a slow tone that helps you meditate or sleep. I had the alert for a while asking me to update the app, I put it off thinking it was a minor update then finally did it the other week. Wow I really regret it and wish I could get the old apps back. The stories that are told keep me awake and the voiceover artists are annoying. My boyfriend and I were actually sitting laughing at the recording in bed rather than it relaxing us and putting us to sleep. It’s ridiculous... I tried it for about a week to give it a real go and thought maybe it was just a little different. Nope. I hate it. Bring back the old apps.. Also if you think people are going to continue paying $90 for an app like this every year you have to be joking. It’s unreasonable. I pay only a little more than that for a Netflix subscription. Which is more value hmmm? You’ve lost an advocate and a customer, I wish there had been more warning before the apps changed..Version: 4.4.4

✓ App functionality far from goodUsers are given virtually no time to adjust volume settings for voice and music prior to the session starting. The volume setting page is presented to you and then the sleep session automatically starts whilst you are trying to update the setting. I used to use it all the time, but now there are so many glitches - I pretty much have to uninstall then reinstall the app every single time I want to use it. ✓ What happened to a previously great app?My app crashes or distorts when played through AirPlay, works well on my iPhone though and used to be my favourite nap/sleep app before this glitch. ✓ Forcing shutReally upset after the most recent update! I used to use this app every night to go to sleep and would have it playing all night as I find it hard to go to sleep and stay asleep without it. After the most recent update, the app forces itself shut after less than 2 minutes making it not useable. Would love to use this app again and would have gave 5 stars if this was not an issue based on how much I loved the previous version of this app. I am using an iPhone 11 if that helps.Version: 5.0
✓ Works great when they don’t change the free one to punish cheapskates like me.I’ve used the free version for a week and it’s worked well after downloading via an NHS link. Obviously the creators aware trying to push you into paying which I get but this is a pretty disingenuous way of going about it. Poor behaviour, A Cheapskate-Insomniac. Update following feedback. The free sleep module was initially a different recording, I did not enter into a trial and selected the default free sleep option. This then changed to a different free default option. ✓ Didn’t work for meUsed the last two nights in a row, both times I set an alarm in the app, both following mornings I was not woken by an alarm. The first morning I missed an important meeting, the second morning I set a different alternative alarm, which did wake me up- Pzizz alarm literally didn’t even go off. ✓ DisappointingI’ve been using pzizz for a couple of weeks and i initially loved it. i don’t know if there was an update or something, but i now can’t do anything without paying. i can not change the soundtrack at all (which was disappointing to discover because i was looking forward to going to bed but the track i was stuck on was awful and not relaxing at all). my main issue with most sleep apps is that you can’t do anything without paying, now i know i can add pzizz to that list. also, apple doesn’t allow apps to override the system and set an alarm so if you fall asleep with headphones in your alarm will go through the headphones in the morning. that was problematic for me because my earbuds always fall out. i’m very disappointed..Version: 4.4.4
✓ Neglected : crashes and staticThis app used to be great. A few months back I started having trouble with it crashing and the sound becoming crackley and full of static-especially for classic nap. I complained earlier and was told to used soundly, but that does not have the same classic nap that I used to like to use. I thought it may have been my old phone and storage issues, but now I have a new phone the same probalem is still happening. I have deleted and reinstalled the app, but no joy. ✓ Absurdly overpricedThis app is fantastic. It really is so good at helping me fall asleep. The various sounscapes are beautiful and immersive. I loved using this app for calming down and relaxing. Excellent focus tool. It provides the much needed escape from reality at a moments notice. This being said I am so disappointed with the absolutely ridiculous prices. I can't justify spending anywhere near what they are asking. It makes me mad just seeing the prices. It's easily 3-4x too much. $250 for 3 years? Insane. Even $50 for a year is not reasonable. It's all prohibitively expensive. I will not buy until there is a steep discount. The model needs to be switched to a one time payment. The argument that insomniacs pay $1000+ a year is baseless and as a broke college student I could never do this..Version: 4.2.9
✓ Too many options too complexIf an app needs instructions it's probably too complicated for most people. Pzizz is gorgeous but it's instructional page might run 500+ words ... this app is so fully featured the options have options. Being unsure I'm using it correctly, stresses me out. I still rate it 4-stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ because it works. Just wish the designers would radically simplify it. Sleep Cycle is a good example of a design that is intuitive and a user can be confident of knowing the app will deliver its promise..Version: 4.4.8

✓ Not for MeI was pinged to renew my annual subscription and decided against it. I’ve had Pzizz for almost 12-months. The stories are interesting and I enjoy the majority I have heard. However the “music” selection one can choose to pair with the story is often macabre sounding to me. Not all of it, but I find it to be monotone, synthetic random sounds. Hard for me to explain but If there were soft instrumental music and / or a selection of nature noises w/ music to add to keep playing after the story, I would have renewed. There are other sleep apps which offer this, and are actually less expensive. They also offer endless stories…I hope you consider this in the future for those who prefer different “music”..Version: 5.0.26
✓ All was good until..I’ve been using this app for about a week now and it’s brilliant. Better than any other sleep assist / meditation I’ve ever used. I’ve been searching for years to find a good app and I’m so happy to finally have found Pzizz. Suddenly though, the dreamscapes and narrations I’ve been listening to all week, are all labelled as premium only. I don’t understand why this is happening. I don’t remember singing up for a free trial or anything. It’s a little disappointing after being so happy with the app. I’m hoping there is a way to solve this and it’s not just a ploy to drag me in and start spending money. ✓ Too many in-app purchases (Grrrrrrrrr!)I use this to help my insomnia, and it works beautifully. But. The minute I clicked those three little bars after I rated my latest sleep section, I saw a button labeled “Upgrade Account”. Curious, I clicked on it, and it got me to writing this review. How? BAM. WAAAAAAAAAY too much money for the subscriptions. Who pays 240 dollars just for three years?! And also the amount of things for Pzizz Pro only is ridiculous. If playing the same dreamscape over and over again won’t help you sleep after a while, then this app pretty much wants us to not sleep well. Yes. You heard me. And the Focus module. HOW in the name of GOD is it only allowed for Pzizz Pro ONLY?! I won’t even get to use it and see what it’s like because I’m writing this during Winter Break. I listened to the focuscapes and they sound like focusing material, and now you’re telling me after my trial I’ll never hear those beautiful melodies again?! Even small things like the female voice and the wake-up session for sleep (which I think will really help) are for the subscribers only. If I could I would drop an F-Bomb on these stupid in-app purchases. Disappointing..Version: 4.2.3
✓ Poor content on free versionThis app is not easy to use. I wanted to try the free version before spending any more on sleep. All I get is the same narration every night and no dreamscapes. I only signed up out of interest, it's not worth that amount in my opinion and will be trying to get a refund. ✓ Losing interest.Initially I really liked this App and found Bethany’s voice so calming. But after several months I realise I am listening to the same sleep meditations, letting go and drifting off, and rest for the weary hearted , and not much else. The reason is that no new meditations of this sort have been added. For the expense of the App this is a shame as so much more could be included particularly subject matter dealing with anxiety and an overworked / repetitive mind. That’s what keeps most of us awake. So yes it’s a good app but my sense is that the developers have been sitting on their laurels. Check out tenpercent if you want an example of how new content should be added..Version: 5.0.27
✓ Not working anymore!I fully paid for this app when it first came out. I even paid the apps for when it was sold as Sleep and Nap separately for my other apple product. Now the original app does nothing. I deleted and downloaded the app. Of course now it asked for sign-in and subscription. I skipped all of that. I get to the SLEEP, NAP, FOCUS screen. I selected nap and the desired length of time. I clicked the check mark and NO AUDIO. I can see something running because I see bar graph moving (raising/lowering). Similar thing is happening on my other apple product. As per Apple requirement, developer’s can eventually upgrade to subscription but the for the ORIGINAL purchasers get grandfathered in providing only all the features as the original. One thing still working, the ALARM. It sounds off when the selected time lapsed. So please fix it!!!.Version: 5.0.26

✓ Charged me before trial was upI also got charged for this app before my trial was up. I never saw the disclaimer saying you needed to cancel before the 7 th day. Why is it free for 7 days if this isn’t the case? I am sure you can work something out with Apple for this not to happen. I purchased this app to write a review for a survey company and had no intention on keeping it for a full year. It does say you can cancel anytime. I ended up contacting Apple and they were happy to help me get a refund. I did not like the app because I needed to wear headphones to listen. ✓ Great idea but app rarely worksI love this app - when it works it sends me to sleep in record times, however I find it rarely works. When I enter the app, once I’ve selected the mode I want and an alarm, it rarely stays open for more than five seconds before it shuts down. I’ve also had some issues with the sound coming out fuzzy, and I don’t think it’s my earphones because they work just fine when I try the music app. I wish it was more reliable because it’s so helpful. ✓ Latest update continues downward slideOnce again another update makes the app worse. The original version of this app was the best so far. I liked the free version so much I bought the paid version, even though I used non of the extra features. Then devs took away both my free and paid version and made a subscription service while “improving” the app and ruining the rhythm and cadence. Now the female voice is just torture. ✓ Are you serious?Are people really paying $108 just for one years access to an app? Must have way more money than sense. App developers are getting way too greedy. ✓ If you delete it remember to cancel!The sleep narrations are pretty good but there’s only about a dozen, which is not very many for $70. I found the female voice soothing but not the male voice, so that limits variety. Also, I need a noise generator to cover upstairs neighbor noise, so I have to shut this off and go to a white noise generator. For $70 this should offer that function. The most disturbing thing is that the app automatically charges you after the one week trial. So you can’t just delete the app. You have to go into your Apple subscriptions and cancel it. ✓ Odd designThe recording is terrific, however the first element of good design is to begin one's task with empathy. Pzizz forgot this practice... the tiny white font printed on a very light background is impossible to read without glasses (for many of us over 40). And who naps with their glasses on? Not much you guys can do - I'll ride out this subscription I guess and uninstall it later I wish I would have read the reviews and fine print ahead of time. ✓ Nope!Pzizz Ltd, you wrecked it, seemingly out of greed. I was a fan of pzizz from the days it ran on my Macbook. Yeah it was expensive, 60 or 80 bucks but it was *awesome*. Customizable and configurable, you could plan and execute your own personal sleep program. This app has become waaaay too much like a gazillion other hypno-sleep apps out there. And expensive? Well, $80 might have been a lot way back when, but that was it. Now, it's a subscription that’s close to $100CAN a year??? Wow. Use it for 10 years and I’m upwards of 1000 dollars!! That’s just nuts. There are way cheaper (even free) hypno-sleep apps on the Store right now that, for my dollar, are just as good. ✓ Scratchy Audio During the ‘Falling’ SectionThe app used to work great but, over the last week I’ve encountered two issues: 1) The app Crashes (repeatedly and especially when using the ‘Nap’ feature) which would leave me in deep trouble since that would mean that I’m not pulled out of my sleep as schedule. Fortunately, this is a none issue since falling asleep is pretty difficult when 2) The audio -voice and music- take on this scratchy quality, as if a bag of chips or something were pressed up against the speaker, whenever I enter the “Falling” phase. The first time this happened I naturally figured that something was wrong with my phone’s speakers, so I ran songs from different genres (and a couple of audiobooks for good measure) and. O scratchy sound. Everything sounds fine when I start using Pzizz, but as soon as I get to ‘Falling’, the audio becomes unbearable. Hope this gets fixed soon..Version: 4.4.9
✓ Terrible updateIt used to be a great application. I purchased both Sleep and Energizer (Nap). After latest update I can't change duration,- it's always 20 min for Nap, wake up sound, background, i.e. I can't customise my session at all. On top of this I have to pay again just to have basic functions. I still use the original applications as this one is unusable.Version: 4.0.2
