Sid Meier's Civilization: Beyond Earth is a new science-fiction-themed entry into the award-winning Civilization series. Set in the future, global events have destabilized the world leading to a collapse of modern society, a new world order and an uncertain future for humanity. As the human race struggles to recover, the re-developed nations focus their resources on deep space travel to chart a new beginning for mankind.

As part of an expedition sent to find a home beyond Earth, you will write the next chapter for humanity as you lead your people into a new frontier and create a new civilization in space. Explore and colonize an alien planet, research new technologies, amass mighty armies, build incredible Wonders and shape the face of your new world. As you embark on your journey you must make critical decisions. From your choice of sponsor and the make-up of your colony, to the ultimate path you choose for your civilization, every decision opens up new possibilities.

✓ Update brings needed fixes to a great game.Party like it’s 1999! At least, that’s what I thought when this update to Sid Meier’s Alpha Centauri was announced. Seeing that the first update to CIV: BE also produces similar changes to the game as did Alpha’s, I wondered what’s the point? Gorgeous graphics and ambient creepiness make this the best looking and sounding CIV game ever—that’s the point! But I still prefer the mechanics of CIV IV to CIV II+ (aka CIV V) and this, "Alpha Centauri” on steroids. Finally, the aspect ratio of the loading screens have been fixed on my MBP. Yes, that’s you get when you upgrade until you buy the DLC. But that’s a separate story (and I’ll update this review accordingly)..CybersoulVersion: 1.1.0

✓ Worth the difficultyAt first I was a little hesitant to buy this…more or less expensive, and people who really enjoyed past Civilization games didn’t seem to enjoy it very much. But I got it all the same. I was very plesantly surprised. The game is gorgeous, like can be expected, and provides many upgrades from Civilization V. For Civilization V, I had to buy all the expansion packs to enjoy it to its full. This one, however, provides all that’s needed to provide fascinating gameplay all the way through. Like any new civilization game, it takes a little while to learn the new mechanics and everything. However, the new features constantly help you enjoy almost every turn. You should buy this. It’s worth the cost, and in my opinion, better than the other Civs that I’ve played..JskawaseVersion: 1.0.0

✗ Dont waste your monetThis game could of been good,but the control method and the over complecated rules to the game make it the biggest pile of TOSH in a game that i have ever played. I took a chance on this game,thinking i could master it but its just a plain waste of time in your life,could of been a good game ,good music ,atmosphere but sadly,if this was the game Bullseye,it would of missed the targeg by a country mile. ✗ … and then the combat kicks in ...Remembering the days of Civ 1 etc. … and many versions that followed … This is more of the same … but becasue the setting is radically different, there is more to investigate. At least until one of the opponents decide to trash the game into ‘Command and Conquer’ or whatever 3rd person arcade game your care to hate. The navigatoin on my MBP is poor, it sometime cannot tell between two or three fingers, and moving to the edge of the screen for an icon often results in the display scrolling as well. Given the high price of this game, I was eas expecting more … instead we have to endure three adverts before the cumbersome main menu system kcks in.
