Neu Bible for Negative User Reviews

ExpensiveBeautiful App. Best looking one out there. That said, I found the hidden charge for the more common and used versions a bit deceptive. Both NIV and New King James will cost you 9.99. That can add up in a hurry. If you just need one version to read your bible from then it is probably worth it for the clean functionality of it. But studying from multiple translations will cost you and there are only a few. Message is not available yet..Version: 1.2.3

Won't openPaid for an app which became free and now it won't even open. Like the app but disappointed to have had paid for it, only for it to become free. Would have been nice to get something for being an early adopter..Version: 1.1.1

Late 2003 updates set this app way backThis app used to be great. It didn’t need to do a lot, and the few things it did, it did brilliantly. It was simple, elegant, and always worked great. Starting with the most recent updates in late fall of 2023, there’s suddenly a rash of new bugs and problems that in my years of use had never been there. For the few dollars I paid for this app when I first downloaded it years ago, it was everything I wanted it to be. Now, though, it looks like it’s time to find a replacement. Thanks for the great years!.Version: 2.0.2

Great App - Urgent FixAmazing app...but please, the search bar doesn’t always work. Sometimes I start typing and it brings up results...then I can later on type the exact same sequence of letters and no results. I have this app on my iPad, and my other iPhone and I have this same frustrating testimony. I’ve had this complaint for years now expecting that by now it would have been fixed...but I guess no one is(or not enough people are) using the search bar as much as I am. Please fix and I’ll give this app a 5 star easily!.Version: 1.2.5

Great app but really slowLove the app but right after the update the app runs painfully slow. If only I could revert that..Version: 1.2.1

Rip offPaid £4.99 for the app itself then if you want a particular bible translation you have to pay another £9.99 rip off download youversion its free and better..Version: 1.2.1

Expensive new translationsAn update to my previous review. This remains a nice bible app with added functionality, but the new translations are pretty expensive at £7.99 for the NIV. Can I really justify that for a new on-screen translation, just because it's a slightly nicer app than all the others? If early adopters were given some sort of reward, seeing as the app is now free, that would've been a nice touch..Version: 1.1.0

Great design hampered by limited translationsLove the design of this app—I don’t believe I’d change that aspect about it at all. But we don’t read the Bible because it looks good; we read the Bible for its content. And so this app is very seriously in need of more translations—very many of which are license-free. In this, the app is seriously limited, and I just find myself going to other apps anyway as a result. Not sure I should keep this app. I’d love to see this app with the NRSV translation..Version: 1.2.5

Broken AppThis app seems to be very broken lately. It used to be black at night (with white text), and now it’s grey, which gives off too much light and is hard to read. And I can’t scroll to the next chapter, or even select the chapter (it always picks one before or after the one I pick). Yikes! Perhaps more quality control is needed before pushing updates?.Version: 2.0.1

Broken on iOS 12New update seems to have broken it on my iPad mini2 and iPhone 6 on latest updates. Great while it lasted..Version: 2.0.2

Slow after updateThis was a very nice app that I used daily. Unfortunately after the update, it takes close to a minute to load when the app is opened, and about 20 seconds to highlight or bookmark a passage. This makes it nearly unusable, which is a shame because it was previously the best of its kind. I'm running iOS 8 on an iPhone 5, so maybe not a typical user. But it would be nice if I don't have to look for another Bible app and lose all my highlighted passages..Version: 1.2.1

Is the App dead?I’ve tried reaching out to the developers via email but never got a response. The last update was three years ago. I like this app but it needs additional features, and there are so many things that could be added. One new feature that needs to be added is uninterrupted vertical scrolling: Currently it will scroll vertically, but there is an invisible barrier that shoots the text upwards. Hey Quiet Pupil Developers, are you still working on this project?.Version: 1.2.5

Beautiful but IncompleteBeautiful, functional, and distraction-free Bible reading experience. Unfortunately, all the available translations are missing books (deuteronomical texts for Roman Catholics, longer canon for Orthodoxy). Some of the included translations have versions that include these books (ASV, KJV, NKJV, and WEB). Something as simple as a toggle switch for enabling the extended versions would be greatly appreciated. Other options are adding translations commonly used by these traditions, like NABRE for Roman Catholics and RV for Orthodoxy. I hate that I can’t use this app, because it’s beautifully crafted and a wonder to use. Navigation is natural and the typeface is on the level of e-readers. I hope an update adds these missing books. If and when that comes about I’ll definitely change my review..Version: 2.0.2

2018 iPad Pro IssueApps on the home button-less iPads should have no concept of orientation. All built-in apps work in any of the 4 orientations. NeuBible does not work in the “camera-down” orientation. I often have no idea which direction I am holding my iPad, but when I launch this app, I then most physically rotate the device in order to use the app..Version: 1.2.5

A Beautiful Bible Reading Experience but....First, let me state the design, layout, and user experience of this app is by far the best of any Bible app I have used. For that, the app is definitely worth the money. However, in an age where the Bible is free online it’s kind of ridiculous to charge an extra $5 to $10 for all of the most common versions of the Bible after we’ve already paid for the app (which doesn’t offer any study notes or plans). Would easily give 5 stars if each version of the Bible was free and they still charged for the app. But for now, it’s difficult to recommend..Version: 1.2.5

Have to say...Disappointed that the app went free with no recognition of people who paid for the app..Version: 1.1.0
