Focus To-Do: Focus Timer&Tasks for Negative User Reviews

Bugs, no updates and don’t answer my communicationApps on my Apple Watch doesn’t work. I contacted them 4 times. The first time they said that it will be fix. Then no answer and nothing happens. I am very disappointed because this app is very useful. I had to buy another one..Version: 6.6

Does NOT sync consistently!!It's an amazing app BUT it doesn't consistently sync between my module device, Ipad Pro and my laptop..Version: 6.8

Global volume controlThis messes with the global volume setting. Volume of music suddenly gets MUCH louder at end of a pomodoro. There doesn't appear to be setting to stop this annoying behaviour to in app sounds only. It will also sometimes stop music from resuming after break is over.Version: 5.4

Stop working properlyWorked well for a long time. No I can no longer add new tasks. It simply does not go through. If this bug is fixed, I will edit it and rate you better..Version: 8.2

Focus app that won’t silence notificationsThis is an ok app but it really defeats the purpose to not have your notifications automatically muted when starting a pomodoro..Version: 8.3

Pomodoro too shortThe time is far to short at 1 minute and can only be changed with an expensive subscription. Deleting app..Version: 8.2

It’s good but need more careI wish you make it connect to Google calendar and also for repeat tasks have start and end also have links attachments from cloud to have some pdf or document for any task..Version: 8.2

Big syncing issues, do not pay for the premium versionGood app if you are using it on just one device (ie your phone or your laptop exclusively). However, when you are using it across multiple devices there are huge syncing errors. These largely relate to using the app on the phone and include: - the duplication of tasks. EG tasks created on the laptop get duplicated - sometimes 3 or 4 times. If you accidentally mark a task as completed on the laptop and then un-mark it as completed, it gets duplicated on the phone. - failure to log pomodoros: even though I start off using the timer on a certain task, for some reason it will not log the data. Eg I completed six pomodoros for a certain task today and yet it does not show any of these. I note that each time the pomodoro finished, the task would “disappear” and I would have to click back into the task. - the app on the phone and on the laptop show different trends and different hours - random errors such as recording that I completed 29.6 pomodoros on one day. Believe me, I WISH this were true...but I simply do not work this much. All these things basically lead hugely inaccurate time records. Very disappointing given the cost of the app. The thing that functions is just the timer, so I’ve basically paid for it’s timer...which was working perfectly in the free version..Version: 6.8

Jury is outI’ve not had it long, and the basic pomodoro function is great but set up tasks, sub tasks and lists is counter intuitive and the editing process is dire. It looks like it will be awesome, but the first task to add is learning all the functions of the app. It can really trip you up if up if don’t..Version: 8.2

Great -but riddled with bugsThe concept of the app is great and I love using it, but the menus are clunky and over-complicated. Controls are counterintuitive, and there are bugs with the home screen and Apple Watch. I think the developers need to observe how users interact with the app- because they could shave at unnecessary features and streamline the controls to get you into a focus session more intuitively. I love seeing how my day is being spent according to focus time and tasks. However these graphics don’t have a consistent look across the entire app… it seems like the various features of the app were each designed by a different person - and none of them bothered to stick to an overall design, look & feel. Definitely needs someone to choose artwork and design the app to flow nicely from task manager to timer to history charts, etc! The Apple Watch component needs to be smoother. since the app doesn’t have a “dim” mode, Apple Watch turns the screen black, so you aren’t able to glance at your session time remaining. The Home Screen component is buggy, and shows tasks in progress that have long since been deleted..Version: 8.2

Nice app, cluttered interfaceIts a really good app for timers, and has everything you might want. A pomodoro timer, a section for each time you want to finish something, a forest to motivate you, a ranking system to motivate you, and a chart of your progress. Its cool that they tried to fit all this in one app, but it doesn't work. It makes it complicated to navigate and slightly stressful as well. I enjoy some features, like being able to do “today, tmrw, someday, etc” but that also gets clunky. It would be much better if the app got rid of some of the features, or at least allowed you to turn them off if you wanted. It seems very unnecessary to have a ranking system and a plant thing while there are already apps out there that do that for you..Version: 7.1

Calendar gets days mixed upThe calendar knows todays date but when I try to add a task for ‘today’ it puts it in the tomorrow’ box.Version: 8.4

Not super impressed so farWhy don’t my alarms go off on my watch? They’re only going on my phone, which doesn’t work if my phone isn’t in the room. As well, I have no idea what the options on the watch app are as you can’t read the whole thing anywhere. Other than that it functions fine..Version: 8.2

Works wellI would give 5 stars if it wasnt for tasks timer record being off when you pause a pomodoro. For example, when I am doing a pomdoro, but need to go the restroom, then I pause the pomodoro. When I come back and click continue pomodoro, the task section of the app says I have done more minutes than I have. Let's say I have worked on a project for 22 minutes. I then paused the pomodoro. Upon coming back and clicking continue, the task section will say I have worked sometimes over 50 minutes or more. I have noticed this only happens when I click pause pomodoro and then continue. This is very frustrating as I use the app to track how long I work on a task or project as opposed as to how many pomodoros I did. If the time record is off it defeats the purpose of using the app for me..Version: 8.4

Timer resets when paused and screen is lockedThis rating is based on current version resetting the timer every time the clock is paused and the screen is turned off. Makes the app completely pointless unless you happen to work through your Pomodoro uninterrupted..Version: 7.5

Almost great but lackingThe app has lots of good aspects but falls short of great. On MacBook it sometimes freezes and needs to be force quit. The promodoro timer sometimes disappears from the top taskbar on Mac when switching between different windows and apps as it runs in the background, and there is no ability to have a visual cue for the timer going off instead of a sound cue (e.g. if you aren’t using any sound) such as going full screen when the time goes off like in for example the competing app, Flow. The app also has limited settings for customization, like switching from 24h clock time to 12h clock time if desired. It would also be great if you could log multiple pomodoro’s retroactively in terms of your chosen base pomodoro time, e.g. logging 50 minutes of focused time would be automatically summarized as completing “two 25 minute pomodoros”. It’s not as useful to count # of pomodoro’s done each day if some pomodoro are 1 hour and some are 25 min, etc..Version: 8.4

Sync issue & Historical ReportsI love this app. I use it on my iphone, on pc, and on chrome extension. But there seems to be a sync issue. I completed tasks on my pc and synced it but on my phone which says it’s synced just now still has all the tasks I completed on PC. Please fix the sync problem! Also, I can’t see my historical reports (aka daily reports) for previous days. I only see today’s one and when I go back to yesterday or any previous days it shows me a blank page. I wanna be able to screen capture or download my historical pages to keep track of my records!! Pls help!.Version: 6.7

BugThere seems to be a bug where it adds an extra hour onto every task i do. it’s quite frustrating as i can’t keep track of how much work i’ve actually done because it’s way higher than it should be.Version: 7.6

Does not work?Tried to sign up, tried to buy premium version - it does not work. I get an error each time saying an SSL error has occurred and a secure connection to the server cannot be made. Super frustrating!.Version: 7.7

LOST DATAAfter marking a task complete, multiple days (ALL PREVIOUS ENTRIES) of data just disappeared!!!! You’ve got to be kidding!!! The sync function is completely worthless if it’s not possible to recover past backups….. I’m guessing this happened because I marked a task complete that has been ongoing for more than one day (who knows for sure…..), but whatever happened, the fact that data was REMOVED AT ALL is still completely unacceptable!!! I was excited to use this tool to improve my daily efficiency but unfortunately it has only left me disappointed & frustrated….. P.S. the apple watch features are not terrible, but the interface/text layout is clumsy. The mark complete & start task buttons are in the way so the text is always cut off. It’s also disappointing how it’s not possible to view or start any subtasks….Version: 7.7

Suddenly, everything is gone for no reason.Everything was perfect, after some days i decided to upgrade to a pro version and now everything is gone. 🥲.Version: 7.4

Good but disagree with sign up policyI’ve been testing for a while, and agree this is a well-designed app, and I was about to buy the lifetime option but was presented with a mandatory sign up. The app already accesses a fair amount of data, which I was willing to accept, but in the climate of data breaches, I personally think sign ups should be option especially as I don’t care for sharing data across devices, nor comparing my productivity with others or the ‘forest’ feature..Version: 8.2

I really like it until..About three days after i got the app, almosT everything became premium. The sounds, the white noise, even the background. I used to use the library white noise but now its a premium option. Disappointed..Version: 8.2

Mixed FeelingsI love the clock, the white noise options and the fact that I can nest down projects -> tasks -> sub tasks. It’s also great that I can schedule tasks to be repeated or one off. I use a projects folder to house all of my routines, which are organized as repeating tasks with subtasks. The fact that whenever I need to rearrange the order of the tasks (routines) or subtasks (routine steps) the order never sticks and becomes all messed up again is infuriating. The only work around I’ve found is to delete and re enter the all of the sub tasks in the new correct order, as the reorder feature does not stick. There is no work around for keeping the repeated tasks within a project folder in the correct, desired order as they repopulate after each completion in a different order than they were originally created. This means that I have to manually rearrange all of the tasks (routines) ever morning, otherwise I start my day off with evening routines, followed by work routines and wrap up my day with my morning routines… Anf that is super annoying..Version: 7.7

Need updateWhen screen horizontal app crush.Version: 6.7

Great app, but missing a visual featureLove the Kanban feature, and ability to make tasks and sub tasks. Also, the ability to make a task that is over 1 line long (that doesn’t get replaced with “...”) is super helpful. This one of the reasons why I left the BeFocusedPro Pomodoro app. One feature that I was hoping this app would have is a “Landscape Mode” for when you do pomodoros. This sounds a like a small inconvenience, but my iPhone gets low in battery if I’m using the app for an extended period and I have to charge it. If I’m charging it, the cord prevents me from propping the phone in vertical view, so I have to prop the phone in “landscape view”. This gets irritating on the eyes to watch the pomodoro timer stuck on “vertical view” while I have the phone in landscape. For this reason I’m gonna give the app 3/5 stars and hope to change it to 5 stars when they add this feature (mostly to get the developer’s attention)..Version: 6.0

Immediately crashes on MacCrashes upon opening on Mac Ventura 13.6.Version: 8.3

No support for dark modeI would love an app that I can use straight off the App Store without any issues but unfortunately this app is not one of them. I’m sure it would be exactly what I need however I can’t see it. Font size is restricted so you cannot resize to something more comfortable to read. It also doesn’t support dark mode which allows people to have the contrast they need. I don’t have perfect vision but I am a busy person who uses the Pomodoro technique. Oh to find an app that does what I need and lets me read the screen content too. Sorry I’m sure it’s a lovely app but I just can’t see it..Version: 7.2

Good, but not good enough!I quite like the project definition and reporting functionality; however when I configure the app to vibrate when a pomodoro ends, it doesn’t! Also as an avid apple watch user, I really liked my watch to vibrate after a pomodoro ends, but it fails to do so..Version: 7.1

Wrote one, stop askingI appreciate that you’re hungry for reviews, but I don’t typically write them, and you quite literally ask me every 25 minutes. To be fair, I’ve been using the product a few months, and the product itself is helpful, but the constant “Rate us” prompts get extremely tiresome. You lose 3 stars due to in app spam... consider asking maybe once every 24 hours in the future if you want to keep an aggressive review collection strategy. End of the day it’s your business to run, just my $0.02!.Version: 6.5

Pretty great - please add ios reminder syncing 🙏🏼I’ve been speed testing a bunch of task managing and timing apps in a row & this one is pretty great. Love the summary of total hours at the top of the day, really helps me see if I’ve planned a realistic workload. Would be an easy 5 stars if you could sync ios reminders, so we can use siri to add tasks. Would also be great to start the annual pro option with a free 7 day trial to test it out. And it would be a massive plus to be able to reorder the tasks by dragging & dropping them, not just through priority flags..Version: 8.2

Good but too basicThis app has helped me prioritise and manage my to do list, but the fact that you cannot prioritise tasks within a priority category is a major restriction. Ie you can prioritise something high/med/low, but within those, you cannot order the tasks - they go in reverse date add order, which is frustrating as hell. I'd also love the ability to turn off the "ding" noise for when you complete a task. This aside, it is actually pretty good, but not being able to accurately order tasks so I can work down a list is a major issue for me..Version: 8.2

Timer resets while in backgroundOld review: It’s helping me not only plan my work sessions but it helps me log my time too so that I know how much I’ve been putting into each area or project. It’s nice to see every task or category of what I could be doing in those almost half hour chunks. It makes it super easy to get a sense of my time when I haven these “blocks” of time to work with called Pomodoros. Update: I really loved this app but it’s unacceptable that multiple times I’ve started a Pomodoro and come back like 35 minutes later to see that the Pomodoro looked like I never even started it. My guess is that my iPad is struggling with memory so it closes the app and it’s incapable of functioning in the background. I have other timer and alarm apps that work in the background so I don’t understand why this is an issue for this one..Version: 6.8

Slow to rewardGenerally a good tool but I need quicker rewards with the seedling…. 4 days and it hasn’t grown above level 1! If I was playing a game I’d have got multiple levels by now and be hooked… just sayin!.Version: 8.4

Nonexistent customer service; progress resets randomlyI’ve been using this app for a while; I chose it specifically because I thought the Forest game was a fun and motivational feature that I didn’t see on other timers. However, on two occasions now, my streak in Forest had been reset to zero after many months, and my progress in the game has been lost. On both occasions, I sent multiple emails to customer service and received no response. This is unprofessional and unacceptable “service” for a paid app, and having my progress randomly reset to zero is the opposite of motivational. I will now be looking for a different product that may not have all the bells and whistles but is at least functional..Version: 7.2

Doesn’t loadIt’s a motivating app but sometimes dors not work properly. It deserves 1 star since it’s a paid service..Version: 8.2

Apple Watch app is poorly designed. When I used the iPhone app, when the work period finished no alarm would sound. The work ticking noise would just stop, that was the only indication I'd get that it was time for a break. It would be very easy to not notice that stopping. The Apple Watch App would make no vibration or sound alert when the work period finished, whether the watch's screen was on or off. This app is pointless. Another Pomodoro app had these exact same problems, it just didn't sound any alarms or make any vibrations. I'm very disappointed that I actually spent money getting this app for nothing. I really wish it worked properly. Also, once when work finished, all of the tomato piece markers disappeared and the app stopped working properly, this was in the Apple Watch app. Very buggy..Version: 1.3

Lot to like / but sync doesn’t work on active taskI liked overall and nice metrics, but had to admit for core functions I failed to use it accurately in the first two days (this is a bit like a mobile with great features but it keeps dropping the call). You see it’s got a fiddly aspect. You have to adapt to the app. The screen is also noisy. Not a clear interface. One of the significant problems is Sync between devices is broken ie a running pomodo doesn’t sync, only the history, so it’s not possible to simply move from iPhone to iPad with your task counter running. This is messy and frustrating. Perhaps it will get better fingers crossed. In trying to explain the odd high scores, it’s probably to do with the gaming aspect and people enjoying competition to get a higher activity score than others. This is of zero interest to me and probably to others. So if that is also you, my opinion is I don’t think you’ll find the score representative of the App quality..Version: 6.7

Could be 5 stars if only the watch app was improvedGreat concept and potential, but very limited functionality on WatchOS, if you add the ability to chose which projects pomodoro we are doing it would be the ultimate watch timer..Version: 6.6

Student planWhy don’t you have a student plan for purchasing the prime version?.Version: 7.2

Sync doesn’t work even for premiumTried to contact the help team and no response. Just don’t buy any paid account.Version: 6.7

Does not work well on Apple WatchMost of the time, the timer is not responsive on Apple Watch.Version: 8.4

BuggyCan’t log in, issues with sessions disappearing and just an error sign when trying to re log in after resetting app. I paid for use wouldn’t recommend paying..Version: 6.2

Stop asking for ratingIt’s really annoying that I bought it but it still asking rating.Version: 7.1

Needs to allow certain apps in strict modeThis app has really helped me stay on task. The strict mode makes it so that you have to put your phone down during the timer, or the timer will cancel. However, what I really need is a feature for “Allowed applications.” There are some applications that I need to use intermittently for work, and if I pick my phone up, I’ll have to pause the pomodoro before using that app. With ADHD, it’s not always easy to remember to go back and hit “play” on the pomodoro timer. It would be nice to let the timer continue when that “allowed app” is being used (because I’m still working anyway) It is also inconvenient because it seems like the timer completely cancels if you pick up your phone for long enough. It would be nice if the timer was just paused, or stopped and recorded, so that we could keep the progress we made while keeping the phone down. This is enough to make me regret using the app sometimes since I lose all progress I made. If allowed apps aren’t possible, then maybe add the ability for us to lengthen the amount of time we can use the phone before it cancels (or stops, or pauses) the timer..Version: 8.1
