✓ Good for priceI did need to buy this app but it was a relatively small cost in the overall garden renovation. It is a powerful app for what you pay, but not perfect. I find it tricky to resize objects, especially plant height, and the shadow/season 3D features mean that getting accurate plant/object height could be a really useful aspect. ✓ Our HouseThis app was pretty cool and easy to use although the explanations do not cover all of the questions I have such as how to orient the front door of my house with the north facing compass that is used when you set up the day and night rotation of the sun to show the shadows and word light will be cast on the yard and it within the house I still have not figured out how to do that and when I run the four day cycle it shows me the sun rising on the opposite end of where my houses other than that The app was easy to use and I will continue to tweak my plans using this app..Version: 4.0.8

✓ Worth itSome strange flaws which seem obvious and an easy fix I will list them below but even so it’s worth the £5 As is. Please not this is a positive review and my suggestions may seem negative but they are just feedback for the devs. Why are the measurements on the design plan so small I can barley see them I’m using a large iPad its crazy I can’t see them and I’m dealing with a plan around 10/15meters square but I can’t adjust scale ratio so it’s easier to work with smaller items.Version: 4.2.4

However, there’s now way to represent some basic elements like changes in property elevation, or decks, or concrete steps or steps up to a deck. ✓ Free versionI used the free version to create a rough design of my garden. You need to open one of the projects already started and try from there. It does not save either, as stated, so you need to pretty much do it in one sitting and then take screenshots/photos. After trying the free version I do want to save and complete variations so I’ll be buying the full app. Not sure how people have had such problems..Version: 4.5.5

Was also able to save multiple copies to compare number of different options without losing any of them. This is a really useful tool and does exactly what I hoped it would do. Being able to stand in various places and see what it would look like is perfect. Have even built the house looking almost exactly as it does, just because I could. Very glad I spent the £5, which when setting out a full new garden is nothing compared to the rest of the costs and gives us a real plan of what to put where..Version: 4.2.4

✓ Pay the 4.99!I found the free version was very limited and for taking the time to input the plan or our property (with no straight lines) wasn't worth it. Having paid for the full version I have been able to create a plan and add lots of detail for what we want to do. It is limited in the extras you can add, but you can certainly get the idea ( I have a few more Daisy's in the flowerbed than I would actually want!) well worth the money.Version: 4.0.8

✓ DIY garden designerI bought yesterday the full version and quickly created my home and elements of existing garden. Much easier than sketch up. Love it. My only criticism is plants are quite limited which are common in all countries ie bamboo and the shrub looks really tatty. I’m creating a country garden not an American hard landscape garden. On the plus side you have people for sizing against things I used one as a statue and made her stone coloured and you can view sheds/fences if you paint them in one click. ✓ EnjoyableSo far have enjoyed putting together some thoughts and plans on this app. Could use more foliage options, and would like to be able to create hillsides. The compass has potential, and the night into day with shadows is awesome! The sun appears to be set in an Alaskan/Canadian setting so would be cool to put in a time zone so the sun reflects more accurately! It was worth it to pay the $4.99 to unlock features, and love that you can download images to add! ✓ Excellent design App for DIY designWe’ve been having our garden landscaped following the building of an extension. As it’s a triangular shaped, not too large plot on a slope I wanted something to show our builders what we had in mind. Searched and found this App for my iPad. After a bit of playing around with the free demo version I decided to give it a go and paid for the full version. Really glad I did. It’s been addictive, and the more I’ve used it the more ways I find to achieve what I want. We were able to explore different options, then email the builder screenshots as visuals and discuss things while doing a virtual walk around. Which straight away gave him a clear understanding of what we were trying to describe. We also provided screen shot illustrations of different options to our next door neighbours showing how we could finish their side, complete with their dog on their lawn, which made it easy for them to decide. The tendency for walls to snap together as you drag to move them around can be frustrating, especially when it produces some really odd shapes. The Undo feature helps if you inadvertently move your finger off the screen. I’ve found it better to keep gaps for example between piers (pillars) and the adjoining walls in between. This has allowed me to be able to adjust the height of the walls and piers independently while exploring options. Overall it’s been fab to use, so happy to recommend it..Version: 4.2.4

However, I am not crazy about the navigation of the app. Sometimes it's hard to view certain angles so I have to go back to 2D then zoom in again to where I'm trying to see. ✓ Great app for the priceI had a blank canvas at home, but knew I wanted an app that could place everything I wanted in my garden to scale. Eventually, I didn’t even use the scale, just adjusted the sizes and direction of said items. With a lot of playtime, enjoyable at best, I created my garden. To those in the uk, who moan about paying £4.99, less than the price of a pint of beer, I say don’t knock it til you try it. It’s an awesome little app that helps put your garden in perspective. I haven’t tried the AR yet, but I’m assuming this will be the height of walking in my garden, adjusting and enjoying, when the British rain stops real playtime. To the developers… I’m with another reviewer on the point of additional items, or a way to add such. String lights, garden mirrors, half water barrels for wildlife ponds, etc. I know the list is endless, but just a thought. At this time I’ve used shapes and textures to implement to my needs, just because I know what they are on my design. If someone else was looking at the design, they’d be asking what was what. ✓ Great but could be improved.Overall, the app is amazing, but here are a few suggestions that would make it an even better experience. 1. Allow projects to import lots directly from google maps to eliminate guesswork. 2. Add split rail fence and chain link fence options. 3. When scaling fences and boxwood shrubs, allow the lengths to be extended without distorting the design (just repeat the pattern instead of stretching it). 4. Add a terrain feature, that allows for changes in elevation and different grades. This currently supports multiple levels, which is great for the house itself but somewhat crude for the terrain elevation changes of a lot. 5. Add more plant choices for gardening and more animal choices for farms. 6. Allow doors, gates, and windows to have opened and closed options..Version: 4.5.5

✓ Generally very goodBeen using this for a couple of months to get some ideas of what to do with my very small garden. It’s easy to use and has a good selection of textures and items to add. One enhancement would be to be able to have raised plant beds. While I can create a shape to simulate this, the plants are not grounded on the top surface of the 'bed', rather to the base ground level. Just finding it a little hard to make decking, and not sure you can change the contour of the land (I could be mistaken) as it would be good if you could show where you have an area where it’s a little higher than the rest.Version: 4.2.4

✓ Worth the moneyI bought this just to design our small, run down garden. After a bit of playing (make sure you read the help instructions first), I managed to construct our garden and then apply objects eg trampolines and pet hutches to see where they would best fit. The 3D and visit function are so realistic you can really imagine what it will look like. I would have liked more ‘easy to put down’ objects for the garden such as decking and different shaped stone paving but I used the geometric shapes and then added texture to them (only seems to allow texture tool when in 3D) Some plain garden string lights would be nice too. For the money a brilliant buy..Version: 4.2.4
