Finally (but see update)Update Feb. 2019 - This app was great at first. Now international performance has gone down the drain. Calls to Netherlands are not allowed at all. Call performance to other countries is poor, no matter how fast a wifi connection you have. International SMS's are not going through. Not sure what happened but hope they fix it fast. Otherwise, I will have search for a better service. Went through some 20 second line apps before finding this by accident. Somebody smart came up with this and I hope it will continue to work so well. This is the only one I found with both good service and a good pricing plan. Keep up the good work!.Version: 5.3.5

HorribleTexts and calls never make it. Using it for verification and calls while travelling. When the calls do come through the audio is terrible no matter the signal strength. I’m back to using Skype with a us number..Version: 7.4.15

Nothing Functions Properly and Customer Support Very UnhelpfulNothing is working in the app — texts are broken into several messages and scrambled, each text is now accompanied by a “file” that eats data and credit and is actually nothing, things routinely glitch, unable to answer several calls a day, unable to make several calls a day, app will routinely shut itself down and I lose all messages each time (has happened twice in three days), I also have no idea it’s logged itself out so nobody can call or text in until I figure it out. I have tried to reach out to customer support several times, and they keep brushing me off by saying that’s the way the messages are coming to them (clearly not as I then have to ask people to copy and paste the message through WhatsApp and the messages are one complete message and fine) or delete and reinstall (not fixing the issues). Have asked more than once for a call to assist with all these issues with no reply. Very disappointed. I am amending my initial review, as it won’t allow me to reply to the iPlum response. I continue to have several issues, and the issue with the texts breaking up has nothing to do with things between carriers and is only one of many issues. It’s breaking up texts that are received just fine through normal texting. I have issues with basic functions, receiving calls and texts, and call forwarding, among other issues. Other than a brief attempt by one tech, every other response has been dismissive and much like the response they have posted here. The system may be “working fine” for others, but it has never worked for me since installing and porting over my number..Version: 5.3.8

TextingI use this for my business line and have never had an issue until last week. My texts stopped working and this is how I send clients reminders. I registered my number for texts like they said to. It’s been a week and it still isn’t working. There is no customer service number to call and when I send a ticket they just send me the same automated email response to register my number. Disappointing and Frustrating for Multiple ReasonsI switched from a similar App (Line2). Where to start on my review? 1) Fast customer service but with a condescending attitude from Johnathan who kindly educated me, a 48 year-old business owner, on the importance of not bringing emotions into a customer service request; 2) Unable to be refunded when I tried canceling my 1-year subscription only 4 days into it; 3) Unstable iPad app; 4) No option to quickly exit their 4 pages of “commercials” when trying to log back in after it crashed on my iPad; 5) Charging a $10 fee to upload my own voicemail auto attendant greeting. 6) Difficult interface to work with when making calls from iPhone (unable to click “end” call); 7) Cropped screen interface on iPhone when trying to block a number; 8) Unable to make calls from my desktop (no app available that I can find); 9) No online manuals or clickable “help” (typically a question mark option) when adjusting settings; 10) Totally confusing “call flow” setup.Version: 5.4.2

Ported out our number without authorizationAfter several months of great service, I called our corporate line with iPlum to test our IVR and realized that our number was being forwarded to another company. Upon investigation, iPlum approved a port out of our number to another company that we didn’t authorize. Unfortunately, several hours after attempting to contact iPlum, we still have no answer. This is an urgent matter since calls to our company number are being forwarded to another company, which is very unprofessional. iPlum needs to improve its processes to ensure that its employees are properly authorizing transactions..Version: 5.5.2

Not worth itThis app is not worth it. The audio is delayed and makes it very awkward to have phone calls. It also has several glitches. Including not receiving messages, messages not getting through to the recipient and loss of old messages. It will randomly delete all of your previous messages and they cannot be recovered per their customer service. Customer service is terrible. You can’t speak to anyone, they require you to email and you get a response back that basically says, “it’s not our fault, it’s your problem” in more professional speak. When I had issues with my messages not going through, their response was “it doesn’t show any messages not going through on our end” and didn’t give me any other troubleshooting. There are so many other apps to use to get a business number, this is not the one. I’m riding out my yearly payment period, which will be up in April (because you don’t get any portion refunded if you cancel early-which is another issue) and then I’m out. It’s not worth the money, look into other companies that have better customer service and more reasonable terms..Version: 7.4.15

Too many issues1) I ported my number into iplum, everyone would hear you called iplum 2) they email non stop about your balance, overkill to receive an email about your balance every time you use the phone so I unsubscribed! 3) they had my credit card on file, they did not charge it and removed my number so now I need a new number. My account got cancelled ☹️ and I lost my number, Very poor experience, I paid for a few months so I could re-port my number when I got rid of my business phone but now I need it and it's gone. DisappointingIt’s nice to have a second phone number without having to pay for a new phone, but you pay the price other ways. Over 50% of my phone calls either drop, won’t connect in the first place, or the other person can’t hear me. I end up having to use *67 over half the time because of this. And I don’t even know how to describe all the hoops you have to jump through to get texting set up on your account. I asked their help desk for help on this but received an automated response that was useless. I know it’s possible because I have co-workers who were able to navigate, but don’t expect texting to be immediately or easily accessible to you. In sum, there have been times when I’ve had to tell clients that my phone won’t let me talk to them (due to being unable to hear me) or text them back. They laugh and ask what the point of having a second number is. It’s a great question. I was really looking forward to having another line at an affordable rate, but this service has been so disappointing. My recommendation is to look other places..Version: 7.4.19

Problems with incoming text messagesI’ve contacted customer service about this on two different occasions and they give me the same run around which does not fix the problem. For about 3 or 4 month, I’d receive a text message notification but when I checked text messages there wouldn’t be any messages. I reset my app (including uninstalling and reinstalling it) and it still didn’t work properly. Anyhow, after not receiving text messages for months, one day I started receiving notifications for those messages that were sent to me months prior. As a healthcare provider, this is not good since a client could be experiencing a crisis. This problem went on for months. Eventually I started receiving messages again but they are not time stamped or date stamped and they are out of order (instead of being the last message it could be in the middle or start of a text conversation) so, if I receive a longer message that is sent in two or more messages, I have to search for the messages and piece them together..Version: 7.4.15

Decent product, Customer service is abysmalThe product generally works well. I use it personally and a company I work with use it. Both are considering other options due to poor customer service. We have often waiting over a week to get a response from customer service and had to contact them up to three times (each at least 3-days apart) to get a response. Recently, it took several additional exchanges because the person responding would not read back through the dialogue from previous emails. Different people respond to the same thread. After I thrice noted that the person was not answering all the issues and/or contradicting what the other person said, she asked for me to put the issue at the top of the email. This would require going back and cut and pasting from several emails—my own and the previous person. As a customer, I should not have to restate the issue over and over to get assistance—especially in the same thread..Version: 7.4.15

Having lots of problems...would love to talk to someoneI am trying to like iPlum. The ratings look great, it is highly recommended, it is inexpensive, but I continue to have problem after problem and I’m starting to hate it. I run a counseling business and I am in a growth stage where I would like to use the phone with my employees. It took a month to transfer my number because of some kind of miscommunication. So I had no phone line for a month....Then I wasn’t receiving any of my text messages because of some kind of glitch in the system. You can have the number ring on other phones but it either dumps the client into a personal voicemail or to one main voicemail...there is no option for separate voicemail boxes for employees. Now I can’t change my greeting. I’ve recorded many, but it won’t change. So it’s stuck with an out of office message that I can’t update. When you try to get help it is all through submitting a support ticket online and you have to wait. What a headache..Version: 5.5.2

No Group Text MessagingI had iPlum and went back to Google Voice for two reasons. First was due to group texts. I could start a group text but when someone replied I could not tell if it was to me or the group. Also, when I was included on a group text initiated by someone else, I couldn’t tell that the text was a group because it looked like it just came from the person who initiated the text. I would get individual replies from other people on the text which made me realize it was a group text. Also, there was no way for me to reply to everyone. I also had issues receiving the initial group text if it was sent with someone who had an iPhone. I own rental properties and this made it very challenging when I had to communicate with tenants at a property that had more than one tenant living at the property. I did contact Support and they said, I am sorry but we do not provide group messaging for SMS.” The second issue with the app is that caller ID was spotty. Sometimes it would just show up as an I plum call and sometimes it would show up as someone in my contacts. Other than those two problems, the app seemed to work and function for everything else I needed to do..Version: 7.3.5

No phone customer support!How can a phone company not have a phone customer support ?? That’s like a doctor who doesn’t have a stethoscope! Overall, I like this app, that’s why I am giving it 3 stars. I will continue to use it for now but I have a piece of advice to the leaders of this company, use one of your lines for customers to call when the FAQ and help articles are not enough. People can leave their questions in a voice mail that can be checked once a day over 1-2 hours. You can pay somebody $15 per hour or less and train them to call people back and help them (working from home). $15-30 per day is not too much for excellent customer support that will bring a lot more customers. People like to hear a live person from the company willing to help..Version: 7.4.5

Not sure what to thinkI’m a new user and I am finding a lot of issues with this app. So far I am not impressed. 1. They do not support MMS. You can count on any message over 140 characters to be broken into multiple SMS and to arrive out of order. Very difficult to understand your clients messages when this happens because most phones and apps support MMS. Sure you can send your text messages out in less than 140 characters but good luck training every one of your clients to do that too! 2. The contacts list and message history apparently don’t save properly into your phones memory. I’ve been using the app for less than a month and while I was using it, the app crashed and I lost all of my contacts and messaging history. I didn’t pay for their back up package because I assumed the data was at the very least kept safe on the phone. I figured that unless I lost the phone or damaged it in someway, I wouldn’t need to pay for the backup plan- WRONG. I have NEVER lost data on any mobile app that I have ever used, except for this company who conveniently sells data backup. I paid for the back-up but I tested it by deleting and reinstalling the app and it didn’t backup my messages at all. So I’m not very confident that if the app crashed again, that I won’t still lose everything. 3. I’ve hardly used the app at all and somehow I went over the “credit limit” right before the next billing cycle and had to pay another $20 on top of the annual fee which I paid for instead of monthly, and I’m on the “Canada Wide unlimited text and call” plan. The only thing I can think of that might have used some credits is that I had a brief text convo of a few messages with a company not in Canada and they left 2 voicemails of less than a minute long. Outrageous if that’s what ate up all my credits. The credits I purchased don’t appear to carry over to the next billing cycle either. Unless of course a few text messages and 2 voicemails used up over 2500 credits at a cost of $20! 4. You can only select one photo at a time and cannot preview them when trying to send them in messages. The thumbnail is too small and it’s hard to see what pictures you are selecting. 5. You cannot search through messages by word, only by name or phone number. 6. If you save a new contact (one who has already started a text convo with you) into the business contacts list, it automatically generates the contact with the phone number as their first name. You then have to go find them in your contacts list and then edit the contact to reflect their actual name. Would it not make sense to open up the editing feature before it saves the contact? 7. The do-not-disturb feature doesn’t seem to work properly. It says you can set windows of time that calls will and will not go through but regardless of the setting I use, everything goes to voicemail. 8. It says you can set your own message alert and ringtones but this feature is not working for me. I thought I might have accidentally changed the iPlum contact info and when I reached out for support I was told to uninstall the app and reinstall it to reset this. I did that and I lost all of my data AGAIN, and it still doesn’t work. This is AFTER paying for their backup plan. 9. You can’t edit an existing text-to-voice line extension greeting. You have to delete it and add a new extension and then type in a new greeting. 10. I often do not receive messages unless the app is open. And when I do receive a sound notification, I click on the app and a very slow and annoying banner generated by the app pops up and persists for long enough to annoy me and prevent me from quickly checking the message. I have to wait for it to process before I can click messages. Is there no way to turn this off? I’m sure there are actually more problems with this app that I can’t think of off the top of my head. A final note to the developer: the way you have responded to previous complaints or completely ignored them does not sit well with me. Should you choose to respond to this, please respond to each issue in sequence, with a corresponding number, as I have done, so I can easily understand your response. Thank you..Version: 7.3.5

Lots of hidden feesService is average. No online chat nor phone support. Your only option is email support which takes a few business days to get a response. Porting out numbers cost you $20 USD per line, so think twice before porting your number in. Now that esim is a thing, there is little reason to use iPlum as your second line..Version: 5.5.2

No customer serviceAgreed with another customer who wrote about having no way to actually call and speak with someone about issues with the app. I have had MULTIPLE MULTIPLE MULTIPLE rings and immediate hang ups, or it’s going straight to my personal voicemail. This app works great 87% of the time, but the developers still have a lot of bugs to work on. The fact that they don’t have a 1-800 number to call to get immediate help is laughable considering if this app fails to work for someone it’s costing them potentially thousands in work. If you’re not going to have a phone number to call at least have a live chat option. Really considering making a switch to another 2nd line company or just adding a work phone to the business to all together avoid these issues..Version: 7.4.10

Problems Within First HourI just signed up about an hour ago for the $9.99 plan which I thought included unlimited calling AND texting. There website advertises “local phone number + unlimited US calling & texting” for $8.33. But the app said $9.99. Which sucked that their website is giving incorrect info. But I signed up anyway. I sent a text to a co-worker and got a reply but then when I tried to reply it said that needed to get Global credits. I couldn’t figure out what that meant, all I knew is that my text was not going through. So I emailed their help desk and their response was that everything was fine and that I only got unlimited calling. Which is not what was indicated on their app. I was even a bit annoyed when I read that the unlimited calling and texting wasn’t really unlimited. They put monthly limits on it 2000 texts & 3000 minutes. But aside from their help desk telling me that I didn’t have a texting plan, they offered me no temporary solution to my problem. Like what the hell “global credits” mean and how I get them. I replied back that I had signed up for unlimited calling & texting and asked if they could help change that for me. I received a reply stating their business hours and that they’d get back to me soon. So basically they are closed for tonight. So I give them 1 star since I just signed up and thE response I got from their support team was less than helpful. Cost my buisness thousands of dollarsDid you pay extra for spam protection and then your phone still gets flagged to spam? They don’t bother to tell you nobody bothered to tell you you have to figure it out for yourself for the next 3or 4 days that nobody’s getting your text and you lose a ton of clients and I mean a ton of clients this is not the first time this happened either. My own phone number I can’t even send a text to my own regular AT&T line because it’s been flagged. On top of it, they don’t bother to tell you on your phone that your bill is a day or two over they just shut your phone off even though you have credits in back up to prevent that from happening so when you do forget to pay your bill it can go into credit mode. They still shut your phone off and then force you to pay $20 to turn it back on and the never respond to your complaints about not having to pay a fee that you should never of had to pay for in the first place do not use this company..Version: 7.4.15

Please don’t even download the app.This is as worse as all the other apps, l own a interior painting company, and wanted a 1888 number as second # on my phone, l saw amazing reviews so l went for it, not realizing the reviews where from more than 2 years ago. The app is not bad, but still bad, text messages takes long to deliver and download, and when you make or receive calls you or the caller can’t hear you properly some times. So l decided to port my number to T-Mobile so l could use it as eSIM as second number on my iPhone, iPlum charge me almost $20 for allowing me to port it but is being two days and nothing, so try to look for a number for customer service and guess what? THERE IS NO CUSTOMER SERVICE NUMBER. This is unacceptable. This is one of the reasons I’m leaving because if l stayed and l have more problem how lm solving them if there is no customer service to help you.!! I also email them multiple time and there is no answers. So please just avoid it. You might loose customer. You are better with twilio. Marketers take all minutesSo it seems to work ok, however here’s the problem. I get probably 5-15 telemarketer and scam calls per day on it and even if you don’t answer it costs credits. I only needed a small amount as almost all business is done via email, but I get credits and these calls I don’t even answer burn through them. If they made it where only calls made or answered used credits it would be a good, app, otherwise it doesn’t really work out for me. I don’t want to buy a ton of credits for the occasional business call and the tons of scam/marketing calls. Update. Trying to block numbers is the dumbest thing I’ve seen. First you can’t even do it on the app. You have to login to the website. Then you have to find blocking, then you have to manually input the number. Consider (as stated above) I get bombarded with spam all day, you should be able to click the number and block right on the app. This app is terrible and I deleted it. Don’t get itI started out liking it. Then thing after thing, I just started to really dislike it. Things that need to be improved: Texting pictures. I can receive pictures, they look warped and I have a hard time being able to save them. I have not been able to text pictures to other people without issues. I had to use my personal number to text the picture, which defeats the point of having this app and number. When I save a contact’s number, it’s frustrating that when they call me, all it says is my business name is calling me, not the contact’s name. I set an auto reply for text messages and it worked once and then just stopped doing it. Links for directions are in livable and it’s hard to copy and paste things into other apps. This app has been nothing but frustrating. I would have cancelled but I already paid for the year. I ended up just getting another phone and number completely..Version: 7.4.14
