WiFi problems are password relatedFor all those in previous reviews having trouble connecting a Dyson device to WiFi, part of the issue is the likely very secure password you are using. This includes those folks who’s app disconnects from the Dyson device halfway through setup. It turns out that the Dyson devices will only accept a few non-alphanumeric characters in the password. For example, a period “.” Is okay, but a dollar sign ($) is not. It turns out that Dyson employs genius mechanical and electrical engineers, but their software developers know absolutely jack about network security. For me, since I am unwilling to change the very secure password on my 30 IoT and other devices just to accommodate a really cool fan and air filter, it will be going back to the store. One Dyson support tech suggested that their highest end device “might” work since it is newer. My reply is that if that’s so, then Dyson should update the firmware on all of their devices to support accepted network security standards. Their lack of concern over this is unacceptable, hence the one star rating. It’s a shame, otherwise the Dyson Hot+Cool Link is a really great fan..Version: 4.6.20020

Controls the fan, but it doesn’t inform youThe app allows you to control the fan - but settings like the motion range when changed are not saved (please fix). Also it shows different PM, VOC, No2 levels, but no where in the app does it explain what these are or how to reduce them in the home (please fix) other than using the Dyson. Nor are you able to zoom in/ change the scale on the graph. The historical data does not also allow comparison from the fan to the external air data - so you don’t know how hard it is having to work. Good but should be betterIt’s good at telling you the air quality in your room but it doesn’t provide enough detail (actual numbers). Where the outside data is from isn’t clear (in Australia at least). Fan won’t connectCan’t connect to the warranty replacement fan they sent. Tried 5GHz. Tried 2.4Ghz. Tried resetting the fan. Tried relaunching the ap. Took years to connectOnce connected, the App is adequate. Getting connected however, is a whole other minefield of frustration and wasted hours. I have tried several times over the past Couple of years doing reboots, router resets, following the troubleshooting guides, all to no avail because although it’ll happily connect to my WiFi, it would never connect to the Dyson network, so I’d never be able to connect my fan and use the most useful features (like disabling constant monitoring so the f’ing thing would actually shut up and be quiet when it was turned off). Eventually, I figured I’d give it another go and after 3 hours of repeated attempts, reboots, contacting Dyson support etc., it finally decided it could see the Dyson network. It is still a mystery to me why I am prevented from using the app until it can talk to the Dyson Network. It should not be this difficult..Version: 6.2.23200

Desperately needs dark modeDyson way behind on Dark Mode on the main screen of their app. Seriously, every other page is dark and to open the app and be blinded by this at night or in the morning when I’m turning the fan of is pretty dumb. Was never able to connect via the appSo my old humidifier that I absolutely LOVED, the motor gave out, and they no longer make the motor or support the product...much sadness. So got out new humidifier/air purifier+cool and thought cool. Followed the simple 4 step IKEA instructions to set up. The humidity level after one night never got above 23%, hello I live in Colorado, so 23% is about our norm this time of year. So then I downloaded this app, maybe to see if it was more useful than the instructions sent with the machine. My iPhone shows the machine connected by way of Bluetooth, but the app says no. After about the 5th try I decided to call Dyson and got the triangle warning sign of death. New machine out of box one day, and now they have to send me a new one. Latest version won’t connectNot sure if it’s a bug in the latest version of the app but my heater just won’t connect. Could be much betterI own the Pure Hot + Cool Link fan and for the price I paid for the product and especially in today's connected world I would've expected more from an app like this. Some points I think the app can do better are: Remember diffuser/focus setting when switching cool-hot modes, show temperature and humidity on the chart especially when continuous monitoring is enabled, allow setting a maximum fan speed in auto mode to control noise levels. V15 customer service - hang upI purchased a Dyson V15 and registered it, from Costco Pompano Beach. late Nov. 23. Wonderful powerful unit. Again the unit was amazing but when I recharged the unit, Jan. it would not start. Talked to Costco re receipts and they advised, “Just call Dyson they will send out battery”, so I did. Customer rep after video chat wanted me to send total unit back- when received they would send one to me. I asked to escalate to manager after 1 1/2 hour call, and he hung up and no response since. Disgusting but seems to be the results today! Took it back to Costco with the story and bought another V15. Unfortunately I lost my $200 Costco coupon.Version: 6.2.24040

Basics of a good AppI’ve just started using the Dyson app in conjunction with my new Dyson Huerist robot vacuum cleaner. In general the app is very good notable issues are the inability to join mapping sessions which the robot has made. I don’t think this would affect smaller properties but I have a ground floor of circa 200 m² with which the robot struggled to map in a single session. The ability to stitch sections together would be beneficial. My experience is in its early days I have not yet tried to use the Alexa connection but set up and integration with Alexa was intuitive and straightforward. I have a number of Dyson items and so my experience leads me to believe that the Dyson team will improve this robot vacuum cleaner in the short term..Version: 4.6.20241

I would love an information button that i pressed on the app remote that would change the information screen on the dyson just like the actual remote. 250+ megabytes?!Yo, guys, this is not ok to have a controller of that size! Not to mention it's suspicious what kind of files are in the app? The biggest part of the app is usually a graphic files, but there are not many from what I've seen. Hot + cold purifierThis unit use to have two filters. They redesigned it to be all in one but the app still shows two filters that you need to reset when installing but it only has one. Time to update app and have customers chose which set up they have so it’s properly working to show filter life..Version: 6.1.22481

Trash software and appThis is an abomination of the Dyson brand. They make great products but the “smart” element is in dire straits. First off, they seem to be using an old protocol (2.4 connection only). Most advanced router / mesh systems have a combination which Dyson DOES NOT support. That said, I was able to register the device ONCE using my wife’s phone. The stats appeared on the app for anyone logged into the Dyson app for about 30 minutes then the connection fell and we were never able to connect again. Dyson technical support does not offer device specific support (Nest WiFi) so you’re essentially paying a huge premium on an air purifier that has none of the smart functionality that’s loaded into the cost of the machine. Avoid until Dyson can get their software up to date. No reason to spend cycles with their support team or look on reddit since there’s no real help anywhere..Version: 4.6.20140

Not linked to your account on their website.This App is a classic example of an App being developed in a ‘vacuum’ (no pun intended). They already have a host of customers’ data previously registered via accounts on their website. Then they decide to have an App to offer essentially the same facilities as the website. Good idea so far. But the designer didn’t think to use the existing database. So if you use the same credentials to login to the App, you might expect to not have to reregister all your devices again. Also, to add insult to injury, the App doesn’t even allow you to enter all the devices you already have registered via the website. Older models, that you might want to troubleshoot (more likely to need that because they are old!), you can’t do via the App. You also are more likely to need spares because you have an older model. You can’t do that via the App either. All they had to do was use their existing database at the backend and it would have happened by default. Now they have gone their own sweet way without consulting the website developers and it’s probably cost twice as much to develop and it’s an inferior product. When will they ever learn. I hope they don’t adopt the same approach with each vacuum cleaner they develop or else the won’t have the benefit of previous experience. Come, sort it out..Version: 6.0.22381

Annoying.App is… ugh. You register your Dyson devices but there’s no tab to go to their warranties or page for ordering parts. It’ll bring you to the web browser link and their website alone is clunky. Using the website through the app is laggy. Failed connection problemsWe have a Dyson air purifier that was working fine with the app for months. Every once in awhile we would have connection failed issues and would have to restart the device. Within the last couple weeks our connection to the app dropped for good. We tried rebooting and ensuring the WiFi was enabled on the purifier many times. After several days of fighting with it we finally removed the purifier from our app and reset the device. Now from the initial setup in the app we aren't even able to add the purifier at all. The latest app update does not fix connection problemsAnd I have no idea why my review from a couple of weeks ago is not visible, and I’ve not received any developer response! My Dyson TP09 is a couple of weeks old. Bought it brand new from a local Dyson dealer. It does not connect to WiFi via MyDyson app. The TP09 is actually connected to the internet and I can see it in the list of devices on my home WiFi router. It is just not connecting to the app on my iPhone! There is a good number of folks facing the same problem, if anyone cares to perform a simple Google search at Dyson! What to do??!! What universe is Dyson Australia living on ?Initially the app worked a treat. But when it's somehow disconnected from the App, then the troubles started. Evidently, when the problem seemed small they were very supportive. But when escalated upwards, "expert 24/7 support" seemed to evaporate. Very, VERY far "expert 24/7 support", they ignored repeated request to help me. Whilst the HP09 purifier hot & cool is great machine, they're "expert 24/7 support" sucked. If I embarrassed anyone in senior management, good on me !!! Why not develop 4G or 5G connection anyway!! Include a password to link for ever and we're all good Lindsay. I give upI’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve tried to connect my Dyson fan to this app. No more. First the app wants to connect to the house wifi. I’m OK with that, but the app isn’t. It wants me to connect to the Dyson fan’s own wifi. I’m OK with that, but the app isn’t. Connection failed because the fan’s wifi isn’t connected to the internet. Well of course it isn’t, it’s a local wifi network. And so round and round we go, but no more. Dyson V8Doesn’t meet my expectations for the price they are charging. There is no power or umph in that V8 , the audio and video explanation are sub standard with no audio- instead they have sound of vacuum running as audio, seems like some kid designed this VIDEOS LOL There’s no explanation how to use attachments in the box . There’s no point going any further because motor is very weak . I bought this in Black Friday deal. They think Canadian customer don’t have any common sense and they can overcharge because of “inflation “. I will surely return this back to Costco. Disappointed by an app that is not workingJust bought a Dyson TP02 and was excited that I could use an app to monitor the history of air quality and control the fan from my phone. But what a disappointment with this app. It is not working and constantly trying to connect and most times fails. And the few times it works it is not showing any history data at all and to connect you have to force close the app several times and once in a time Hou might get lucky and the app at least connects and allows you to see the status of your fan. Overall a very disappointing experience and no suggestion is helping to fix it. I can only hope Dyson will fix the app soon and for such an expensive fan that is the minimum you can expect that quality control releases an app that works. The app and air purifier will not connect as advertisedFor the amount one pays for these products, it’s reasonable to believe that they should work as advertised. Alas, this isn’t the case with Dyson. I have a TP04 air purifier that will not stay connected to the app long enough to utilize the continuous monitoring feature, yet the fan is connected long enough for me to control it remotely, and view the current air condition. I have factory reset the fan DOZENS of times and deleted and re-downloaded the app in an attempt to create a better connection, but nothing has resolved this for months. Reaching out to customer service is also useless, as their only remedy is to unplug the fan and plug it back in after a few minutes. The other meritless resolution offered was to move the fan closer to the router. It lives 3 feet (line of sight) from the router, so I’m not sure how much closer it needs to be. If you are in the market for an air purifier, I highly recommend you look at other brands. If you’re dead set on buying a Dyson, be sure to buy it at Costco or another retailer that offers a robust return policy; you’ll be needing it..Version: 6.2.23200

HomeKit integration is neededI bought my first Dyson product yesterday, the Pure hot and cool fan. It works really well l, I know you can create Siri Shortcuts but full HomeKit integration would be amazing, as currently you can’t use natural speech, I’d like to be able to ask Siri things like “make it warmer” or “slow down the fan”. Also, why can’t nighttime mode be used with fan settings above 4? I love that the light turns off at night but I’d like to run the fan a little faster, the sound of it running at 5 or 6 doesn’t bother me. Temp control unavailable on app (UL 1278 compliance)Bought HP02 in Sept 2020 to combats the smokey LA wildfire air. We planned to put the unit in our 16 month old’s room and was excited to be able to control and monitor her room temp remotely. We loved the idea of being able to heat up her room in the winter without the need to heat up the whole house, and being able to do so via the app remotely and adjust the temp as needed. Upon Installing the app, we found that the temp control option is not available and only accessible via the remote due to compliance with UL 1278 (we reside in the US). My friends that have had the HP02 from 2019 all still have the temp control function available on their app. I am not sure if this is an updated feature restriction to new machines made in 2020 only. Very disappointed as we paid premium for the connectivity of the machine only to find one of the key function inaccessible. It’s too expensive of a machine to not have the temp adjustment function assessable on the app. Having to be in her room to adjust the temp via the remote will be a huge hassle and defeats the purpose of having the app. Looking to return the machine to find better air filter and heater options..Version: 4.6.20360

What happened to the graphs??This app used to display great and very useful graphs showing how the air quality, humidity, and temperature in your room and also outside fluctuated throughout the day and also from week to week, month to month over time. It was easy to access from the app’s main page, and to me was the main point of the app. Now, the graphs they do have are hidden— you have to counterintuitively swipe up from the bottom of the screen, but just in the right way so that it doesn’t close the app. But it only has the daily data for one week now. This is useless. How do I know how my air quality is changing from week to week? Please give us the old graphs back— or if they are hidden, unhide them! I searched the Internet for an hour before I even found out how to swipe up to see the daily graph, but I wanted the weekly one. Very frustrating. If anything, they should develop *more* graphs and *more* ways to view them, with *more* data, not take them away. This is very frustrating and makes no sense..Version: 6.1.23080

Clunky - feels like several designs cobbled togetherTo change the fan rotation settings I’ve got to do something like 1. tap the remote icon and then it goes to a completely different screen. 2. I then have to tap the oscillation toggle which then magically turns into a top-down view. 3. Then I have to adjust the fan. So it feels like three different screens from three different apps have been combined into one. Used to always stay connected now it’s intermittentAfter an update about a year ago now when opening the app to control my air purifier it’s random now as to if the app can even find and connect to the purifier. This is absolutely unacceptable as the machines are 500+ not to mention that I’ve spent $80each on now 3 replacement filters totaling $240 just for those! And now I almost never can control the thing via voice commands or even the app. But the magic fix is if you unplug the purifier and plug back in it’ll connect right back to the app control this is utterly useless if I can unplug it then I can just use the little IR remote! Fix your software, or you should have to pay me a fine for inability to use already purchased features! Or refund my money for your defunct over priced machine! Dyson is so rich they absolutely could lower their prices they don’t have to profit the level they do that’s an active choice. One only needs keep their prices high just when founding a company after you gain notoriety and income you can lower your profit expectations. Get over yourself! I have other air purifiers in other rooms that are the price of just the dyson purifier and their app control has never once been unavailable, the others even have UV air sterilization which dyson doesn’t offer?!? Connection problemsAugust 2023 update Dyson products are very poorly supported. If you try to order or be notified of parts through the app you’ll notice it doesn’t work. I’ve been trying to get a battery for my robot vacuum for over 6 months and Dyson just never have any in stock. They do always appear to have new robots in stock (with said batteries). Previous entries: Interestingly I’ve been updating a review about this app for nearly 12 months now, and recently all my review comments have disappeared - bit like the connection to my robot vacuum cleaner. Yes my issue with this app is purely it keeps loosing a connection to Dyson devices. Based on that I’d strongly advice NOT buying their app controlled devices as you’ll be wasting your money. Doing a hard reset on the device does fix it for a while but then if fails again. I strongly suspect it’s down to how the device connects to your broadband router. Whenever your broadband router looses and reconnects to the internet, you can be certain that the connection to you Dyson device will stop working until the device is hard reset. 8th December 2019 Connection problems are still an issue. Graphs are hidden and hard to findThe newest update completely removes the obvious button for accessing the data graphs. It appears to be completely gone. Several frustrated minutes later and an accidental swipe up in the app while trying to rage quit, and I see that it’s been hidden behind an undocumented swipe up on the page. There’s no visual indication that this is happening, and no UI hints to suggest it. This is a terrible new UX and needs to be addressed. Updated after developer response: a single easily missed pop up should not be the only UI hint for hidden screens. There needs to be some sort of visual indication that swiping up or down reveals more information. Good UX trumps pretty, streamlined graphics, but they really can coexist if done correctly. Dyson hot and cool fanI’d like to say that this app is ok and to give more stars. But the fan constantly disconnects from Wi-Fi so you can’t use the app and have to reconnect again. And the app it self is annoying why have an iPad app if you can only use it on portrait mode?? For the price you pay for the fan it self and the Dyson name I expect better. Useless appHave a few Dyson products registered to my email login and also bought direct from Dyson. 3 hair care ones, V8 vacuum, fan / heater, flor vac etc Not a single one shows up in my profile and can’t really be bothered entering them in. Watch App Doesn’t SyncWatchOS app shows “Add machine” screen despite the fact that the iOS app has two devices. It appears the way to get a device to show up on the watch app is to remove it from my list of devices and then re-add it. Cannot connect to server??!Tried many times and methods to shop on this app for adapters. Kept getting “Cannot connect to server”. So I tried other methods to navigate the site and kept getting “Your search has no results “ when I used the exact wording from the site in the search bar. You Don’t Get What You Pay ForIf you buy a product it may work for a year or two. Then when something inevitably goes wrong you are on your own. Have purchased incomplete packaged vacuum missing the laser thing and was told that was on back order because of Covid. All this time later…… NOTHING! I have four lamps two vacuums three different style fans and the hairdryer. The lamps are cool but the fans have not held up. All the filters are different so frustrating. Really annoying actuallyI bought an air purifier which connects to this app. I find that app really annoying. Most prominently on the main screen of the app it shows me the air quality for London - outside! There’s no way to turn that off or clear the location. I don’t want to see info about the air quality outside when I open this app, I bought the purifier to tell me air quality inside and that is all I want to see. They should add an option to remove the useless info from the screen so it is filled with info from the purifier without having to scroll to see it. Ridiculous user interface. Suggestions, bugs, but overall it does work.I’ve been searching the internet to find somewhere to submit suggestions for this app but there is no such place - so I’ve had to come here. The app works and that’s the good. However, the issues are getting a little more than annoying and disruptive to flow - and they should be relatively simple to fix. Everything I am using is updated to the latest and I have turned it off… waited… turned it back on plenty of times. 1) the temperature outside is stuck on the number that the temperature was outside when selecting the city/location. So if I chose London 4 months ago when it was 10°C outside, when it is 25°C outside the app will still show me it being 10°C in London. The only way to fix this is to re-submit the city I’m in and then it will update to the current temperature - but again the temperature will be stuck until I repeat this process. 2) please add a dark mode, it is very bright to the eyes when using the app in the evening or night time. These are issue this app has now had for almost a year. I have 2 hot+cool devices I love, but this app is becoming more and more cumbersome to use, please address some of these issues - I, and others, would much much appreciate it. Pointless.I’m normally not one to write reviews, but when the app I’m trying to use is just pushing me around in circles it gets frustrating. I downloaded this app a few years ago and it worked perfect, I could see graphs of air quality. I could control the fan with my phone. I just re-downloaded the app and was surprised to find that it’s all just instructions and advertisements of other Dyson products. Now its just useless. I cant control my fan with my phone anymore, I get there’s other ways to do that but it’s not as simple anymore. It’s OK, but after so many years, it should be a lot better!I’ve been using this app since 2016 and it is very surprising how little it has evolved over the years. There is basic functionality like landscape mode on an iPad that still isn’t supported. You can’t swipe to delete an alert or even get it to mark the alert as read. I recently added another HP02 and spent hours trying to get it to finish connecting resulting in a lengthy session with support and when I gave up on it and went to bed, it just magically appeared in the morning and was working. There are many other user experiences that just aren’t designed to make life easier and when you have multiple machines, no ability to show more than one at time nor is it simple to switch between them. Annoying and unwanted sales notificationsThis app recently started sending me push notifications about Dyson’s latest promotions, which I do not want to receive. There is a toggle in settings to switch these off, which I have always had switched off, and which is still switched off. The notifications appear regardless. Customer service over WhatsApp (why WhatsApp???) is unresponsive and unhelpful. They demand a host of personal details attached to my account (even my address!) and the serial number for the device, without which they refuse to offer support. My issue is with push notifications and relates purely to this app, not to any Dyson devices that I own. Great Product, Horrible AppAfter paying nearly a grand for an air purifier, I’d expect to be able to use one of its promoted features, wireless control, without issue. This app is almost impossible to connect in the first place and if by some miracle you get it to connect, it will randomly disconnect. Customer service is not equipped to address this issue. Good info, but no customization.The information given is nice to have, especially if you’re sensitive to stuff in the air. Meat to see when air in the home becomes ‘polluted’ so to speak. My only issue is the data can only be seen on a very vague daily table and bar graph that only goes back a week. I’d like to be able to see one year back. See how my air changes through the seasons, not just the last week. Also, it’s be nice if there was some customization like being able to set the level of stuff in the air before the fan comes on. Looks good but overall a bit clunky.Firstly if you’re looking to invest in a Dyson and reading this app review before you buy then a couple of considerations if the digital interface is important to you. Personally, I may have wanted to wait for Dyson to release a HomeKit enabled fan or consider your other options entirely. If you use Siri to control your smart home, this heater is a slow and clunky means to get around it. Dyson offers the option to use voice control, but this is only achieved through Siri Shortcuts (which Dyson has an in app programming service to help you with) while it works OK, it’s not up to par with the expectation for a smart device IMO. You have to pre program, and define a phrase for each specific setting. Meaning if I wanted to turn my Dyson on to heat up. You have to say the specific phrase and it will activate to the specific settings. If I wanted to use my voice to tell it to turn on & heat up to a higher temperature, you cannot specify that temperature unless you have already setup a phrase for doing so! Meaning to simply change one setting out of the other variable settings (oscillation, can speed, temperature, flow) is not possible by voice. In addition to thIs. If others users in your home don’t have the app on their phone or are not connected then a hub like HomePod won’t work without the paired iPhone. Meaning each speaker must setup their own phrases on each device. Relying on the shortcuts app doesn’t present much if a convienience to the user. Yes you can add buttons to the Home Screen but when clicking them occupies a slow and annoying banner to the top of your screen monetarily while it is ‘loading’. And Siri responds slowly and with hesitation to adjust the settings. —— App criticisms, the controls for the remote have very low contrast and should be increased. It can be difficult to see discern between off and on setting when screen is low brightness. App is somewhat slow to connect and open to the device I find. Finding more specific information on the pollutants, eg the meaning of each of the particles is hard to find and in different places and the icons such as the flower, and car should be displayed as well as the code name alongside your love stats.. Can’t connect without wifiI bought a Dyson pure hot+cool link fan heater a few weeks ago. The app requires a fixed wifi network at all times to connect to the fan (i.e. not just for set up). WiFi Connectivity Needs ImprovementOverall the app works very well. As long as it can connect to the Dyson 360 Vis Nav robot vacuum. InconsistentHello! The reason for my score is simply the inconsistency of the app. When it works as intended it’s great! But I find that I am unable to connect to my machine regularly. I understand this may be due to my internet connection. Even as I write this review I have to type my note elsewhere and copy and paste it into the review section of the app because as I type text in the app the text is invisible and I need to copy and paste this to even see what I’m writing. Setting up my machine for the first time with the app was an absolute nightmare. I was getting help from the chat for hours and nothing helped. Eventually I tried a few days later and it worked. Dreadful app dreadful serviceI have just purchased the TP04 hot and cool air purifier. Get it all set up but won’t connect to the internet. I go through google try every suggestion possible nothing works. Made sure the internet settings is on 2.4ghz, WPA I spend 1 hour on the phone to the helpline and it seems likes it’s the guys first day, he says to take it back to the store and exchange as there is a fault with the fan. I drive down the shop get another one, come home machine has the same problem!! I call back up the helpline and the guy I speak to this time says it can take up to an hour to connect, I leave the app 3 hours doesn’t connect!! Looking at Reddit it seems to be a firmware issue with the machine and to connect it by hospoting it off phone data which will clear the problem until you have updated the firmware but this still doesn’t work! Helpful but deceptiveIn all honestly I love our Dyson Cool Link Air Purifier. It creates wonderful airflow and allows my family confidence in the quality of the air quality in our home. That being said the app states that the air filter is GUARANTEED for 12 months, contrary to the approximate 6 months of use it has provided. Upon speaking to a customer service representative I was informed that only applies to 12 hours of use a day or 4382 hours of total use, about 6 months of 24 hour use. It is egregious that this is not stated, explicitly or otherwise. There is just the blanket statement that it is guaranteed for 12 months, no asterisk or anything. Similarly while a user is able to reset this “timer” once a new filter has been installed there is no mark or date of when this was done making this whole process quite deceptive. Bluetooth issuesSerious bluetooth issues during the setup process using new IOS. I was able to set up the machine with old IOS. I had to redo the setup process and it has been a nightmare. StruggleIt is my 3rd 360 eye vacuum cleaner, as the first two didn’t work properly and were replaced by Dyson. When 3rd one had a problem, It was taken for a repair and return with another problem: It could not connect to the App/internet. After 2 hours on line with a help an advisor and a email exchanges, I was advised how to reset WiFi on the machine. Everything seemed to go smoothly, but it doesn’t work still, it doesn’t recognise the network. App went to a page advising me to contact my internet company to deal with a problem and got frozen. When I try to re-download the app, it goes to the same page... I guess I am stuck now with an useless app/page and a WiFi free machine, that never cleaned the whole floor anyway. Interesting detail: despite faulty machines and replacements, warranty is not extended. The machines have been repaired sometimes for weeks, or have been replaced due to faults, but warranty is not. After repeated trying to get a connection I was told my generation Dyson purifier works only with 2.4Gz and my router works on 5.0 Gz. Needs HomeKit supportI love my Dyson but it’s not being fully tapped into by not having HomeKit support. It works with Google and Alexa but not Apple’s smart home ecosystem. Why? Siri Shortcuts is just a bandaid solution. HomeKit has support for fans, Dyson just needs to add it in. Update: I noticed that Dyson support has answered most reviews, but refuses to address this issue I bring up here. SCAMMED BY DYSONAnother edit: Dyson continues to ignore customer and astroturf their reviews. They ignore customer service emails after giving garbage copy paste responses. Possibly the worst company I have ever dealt with. I haven’t updated the app on my phone since they removed the ability to view run times and weekly data. Today I get a pop up in app saying they no longer support my version, and I’m forced to update. It was working fine yesterday. Dyson is a trash company filled with trash people who don’t care. I bought my air purifier FOR THOSE FEATURES. Dyson should be sued. Original: Out of the 101 reviews so far in 2021 the app has 48 1 star ratings vs. 18 5 star ratings. If they weren’t riding on their past reviews, just for this year it’s at a 2.3 star average. They continue to remove features and ignore customers. I love my V11 Outsize, and I really liked my HP04 until they needlessly gimped their app. We would have two more purifiers for our house had they not made their changes. I’ve been holding out in hopes that the historical features would be added back in, but it’s about time to move on. I don’t see myself purchasing any Dyson product in the future; not from a company that charges a premium to then simply dismiss their customers. Dyson linkWould prefer a more accurate reflection of contaminants in report. The averaging of readings at intervals reflects a higher than experienced quality of air. Important in establishing the true effects of variable sources of pollution. Eg triggers for asthma do not need to be consistent, a few seconds of smoke can trigger an attack. That needs to be reflected in report. I have recorded a very poor quality on the ‘live’ readout and later in the daily report it shows as fair or even good?.Version: 5.0.21140

No Landscape OrientationI love the app and the functionality of using it wherever I am, but unfortunately you can only use the app with your device if its portrait orientation. If my iPad is on its keyboard and I want to use the app, I am faced with having to take my device off the keyboard to use since it won’t rotate, or simply use the app in the fixed portrait orientation while my iPad is in landscape orientation. The simple addition of using the app in landscape mode will make a world of a difference in terms of convenience. Plus many hotel or smart home iPad control units usually have all the controls in landscape mode vs portrait which makes the experience of being able to use the Dyson app in the similar functionality feel more premium..Version: 4.6.20280

Why does it have so many issues?I’ve got the older version as well as the newer unit of the hot cool filtered Dyson. The newer ‘bells and whistles’ unit purports to give you information on air quality in your home. Yet this feature hasn’t worked in quite some time (months). It keeps telling me that if I want this feature to work to turn on continuous monitoring, but it IS turned on! Fix your app Dyson. Otherwise it’s just taking up space on my phone for nothing. Lies and deceit about delivery. Incompetent staffI can't comment on Dyson v15 itself. But delivery by Dyson is a deception of buyers, disrespect for the time of the customer. Be prepared for them to lie and cheat about shipping. I ordered a Dyson V15 from the Dyson website on Thursday morning; The Dyson website promised to deliver it on Friday (next day delivery if you order before 8pm). It was important, this vacuum cleaner was a gift for my mother. On Friday at 7 am, an SMS arrives that everything is in progress, here is the tracking number, everything is going as it should. The tracking number didn't work. I took a day off from work. I did not leave the house, I was waiting for the parcel. called several times, texted on whatsapp. Empty answers, incompetent staff. 360 hot & cool formaldehydeJust received my £599. I love my fan. But…I love my Dyson smart fan. So much better than the non smart fan, I would know, I’ve had both. But, my only complaint is that I’ve replaced the filter now, twice, I continue to see the ‘need to replace the filter’ warning. It’s annoying and continues to come back even when I toggle the display screen away from it. Make it so this display goes away, for good. I get that it’s trying to make sure you replace the filter, and it’s right, mine has needed to be replaced. But after I replaced it, the same message appears. For the second time! Better experience on iPad neededThe app is fantastic on iPhones, however when it comes to an iPad there's little to say. iPad version seems like a blown up version of the iPhone app. I, like many use an iPad in addition to an iPhone and have the app installed. With so much real estate to be utilised, the iPad version of this app lacks use of it. For years I've envisioned that it would look great in Landscape mode with more options or the house positioned to the left of the screen with controls on the right, but this has never occurred. I would love to see the iPad app refined to take advantage of the screen size, the ability to use part of the app as a widget on the home screen an added bonus! So close but not close enoughWe’ve upgraded to the heurist and it’s marginally better than the 360 was but also seems more temperamental. We have sun in our garden in the evening right around the time I want the heurist to do its thing. Unfortunately this machines camera does not like sun and as soon as the camera lense enters into direct sunlight it freezes and doesn’t know what to do with itself. The 360 didn’t have this issue. Also this new machine still insists on getting stuck where there is no obstacle. I’d love to see a feature in the app where you can manually control the machine (like a remote control car) instead of having to keep getting up and freeing it from nothing. Why these machines can’t reverse well I don’t know but when it finds itself in a predicament, instead of keep bashing forwards and then getting “stuck” simply reversing for a beat would solve it. It can be frustrating to witness and has me wondering why I don’t just do it myself with a normal hoover... A great machine in some respects but also a pain in the backside in others. We’re always shocked if it manages a full clean without getting stuck. *a note to the app developers - please put back the feature to scroll between machines. An OK app just got worse - strange updateSo the app has never matched the smart design of the products it supports; it’s just not intuitive and user friendly as it should be for multi-device households. It’s completely baffling that they chose to remove the quick screen flick to cycle through devices. Now you have to click on the menu and chose the next device you want. Orientation issuesUsing a large 12.9 inch iPad as a work machine. Having to pick it up and rotate it to see the controls correctly is very sloppy design. A simple way to fix this is allow multi tasking options with the slide over feature to open it as if it were an iPhone app on the iPad. On the IPhone this app would be 5/5. Dyson hair straightenersContacted your customers services in November to be told my 12 month warranty had ran out for my straighners went back into Currys to pay £100 to have them repaired by Dyson where I had purchased the straighteners to be told my warranty hadn’t expired in November it had only expired the the 17Th of December 1 day before I had gone into Currys was absolutely furious as warranty was still valid when I’d contacted Dyson have bought 10 Dyson pruducts within 10 years so Dyson decided to repair as a goodwill gesture for there mistake this is now the second time Dyson have claimed my warranty had expired before it actually had needing to retrain your staff what your product warranties actually are because getting a repair from Dyson has beacame impossible but used to be excellent customer service you received from Dyson.Version: 6.2.23480

Someone Needs To Get Fired For ThisSince the App Store’s inception nearly 12 years ago, I’ve never been compelled to write a single review ........until now. Why was the ability to QUICKLY swipe left/right between machines removed? I have 8 different purifiers and the newly-added “feature” of having to access a separate window from which we have to then individually select each machine is nonsensical. There is literally no practical reason behind this. If the purported excuse for this is to reassign that gesture for another future purpose, can you think of a way to toggle between machines that’s anything other than outrageously inefficient? I would pay a ridiculous amount of money for a transcript of the discussion that led to this decision. Whoever thought of this idea (and everyone who supported it) should really be removed from your design team. In fact, anyone who didn’t object to this app bastardization needs to go too. Dyson Pure Hot+Cool on iPadI use the app often on my iPad but I see two main problems on the app for the iPad: 1. It doesn’t support landscape mode. Most users use iPad on the landscape mode and even more so now as you can connect a keyboard as an accessory. I need to turn my head every time I use the app. It’s a pain in the neck. 2. There’s a lot space available not being used by the app but for some reason when the device is heating it hides important information (PM10, VOC, NO2) intermittently just to say “heating to target”. Smart home let downThe app is relatively straightforward, good user interface with the details you care about but the integration with homekit is really lacking. I’d like to be able to run a shortcut from any of my devices to trigger specific actions but when I run the shortcuts from my macbook or my smart speaker it fails or tells me I’m missing the app on my mac but I can’t install the app because it’s not an iOS device. Tbh the whole “smart” connected fan just doesn’t exist and you kind of have to do everything from this app or via physical controls which is such a let down for such an expensive device. I need ultimate convenience! I want to be able to walk into my home and have it already have been running for five minutes cleaning the air at high and then the moment I get in it’s quiet, and to be able to hit a button on my elgato stream deck and have it toggle between scenes or better yet, let me control all aspects on the stream deck. Development needs to be more pragmatic it making it indispensable as the ultimate intelligent fan not just some overpriced fan that connects to wifi and requires me to use their app to do anything. Dyson LightShocking experience with this app to control Dyson light. For the money paid for the light cannot believe the poor user experience and control of the light. The App never connects to the light over Bluetooth and only once when I restart my iPhone. Thought the latest App update would fix this but now even worse. Cannot link app with machineI decided get the HP02 Dyson Air purifier over the HP01 because of the ability to use the Dyson App. However, after spending hours with frustration trying to connect the machine to my home wifi, I found out that the machine doesn’t work with 5.0ghz network. So what’s the point of making an app while your customers cannot even use it? Can you just pleasssse make the app/machine compatible with the 5.0ghz WITHOUT telling us to spend another hundreds of dollar on the second generation of this fan. Now with the HP02, wifi is such a useless feature for me and like others mention hope I won’t lose the remote control any time soon. It’s ok- basically just a remote.I thought it was super cool initially how the app would tell me the air quality inside my house, but it varies so dramatically (swinging from “good” to “very poor” and back within the hour, etc.) that I don’t see how it can possibly be accurate. Plus when I change it to auto when the air quality is “very poor” the speed goes down? That doesn’t make sense. I don’t think it really knows what the air quality is inside, although the purifier does make the air smell cleaner at least. BuggedThis app is generally a bit buggy and cumbersome and normally around a 3, but the current version is broken. When you edit schedules in it, the settings are never saved. Meaning if I try to disable a temperature schedule and enable a different one, if I try to edit the existing schedule, none of that information gets saved. So I’m stuck roasting on a winter temperature schedule. I tried to report this in the app but there doesn’t seem to be anybody supporting the chat feature at this time and there didn’t seem to be an asynchronous channel for easily reporting bugs. Additionally, sometimes when you turn it on and override the hot and cold device’s existing settings, it doesn’t do anything (e.g., sometimes I have to hit oscillate several times to get it to oscillate). This product also desperately needs the ability to switch from hot to cool automatically if the temperature exceeds a certain value. And the ambient measurements displayed in the app often seem quite random or out of date. As a software engineer, I do not find this app to be well designed or maintained. Wifi connectionEvery now and then, the unit would kick itself out of wifi and try to reconnect itself and failed continuously. The only thing that works is to power off the unit and switch it back on again after a period of time. I am 100% sure the wifi had been working fine the entire time. The selling point of this apps is enabling me to operate the unit remotely.
