✓ DUNFERMLINEOrdered a chicken burger & irn bru via the app & got conformation email, after 30 mins wait I asked one of the managers what was happening to my order, straight away she said “the waitress had tried to deliver it but no one was at the table” I told her I had never left the table & she reiterated that they had tried to deliver it then left and waitress came back after a few minutes with my order minus the drink which when pointed out came with the drink. Lady sitting at next table said the service in here is shocking isn’t it. I accept mistakes are made but to be lied to about the reason is really annoying honestly is always the best policy & I would have happily accepted the real reason for the lateness. ✓ Cuts out the waiting to be servedEasy , Fast and convienient . set up table number , order what you want , pay via apple pay which is so so easy . Food is then delivered to the table . The biggest advantage is not having to wait to be served . Ive been to many Weatherspoons which can get very busy especially weekends and evenings and had to fight my way to the bar and wait ages to be served. The disadvantage is if you order a refillable coffee or soft drink you still have to go and get this yourself which isnt great if your not expecting this , the other disadvantage is when ordering drinks you can’t for example add a dash of a mixer or order a shandy ,add ice and lemon , fix this problem and it would be perfect .Overall a very good app , I can see that Weatherspoons will be leading the way for many of the chain pubs and resteraunts to develop similar apps which will mean waiting service and bar staff jobs will be cut as a result . Good or Bad this will be the future of the hospitality industry .Next step will be intelligent tables with touch screens where you can order your food at the table , have it delivered by robot and a robot come and clear the table. ✓ Great service but don’t offer it if you’re not willing to provideThis app works great and as a touring musician who visits a LOT of Wetherspoons around the country, sometimes alone, this is a great idea when I want to make sure I secure the table I’ve found! However, over half of my experiences have involved staff members who clearly would rather they didn’t have to provide the service. In fact in a Wetherspoons in Hereford (can’t remember the name) I even had a barman bring me some drinks, look me up and down, before saying ‘completely able bodied but couldn’t be bothered to come to the bar?!’. At a Wetherspoons in Bridport I even had a member of staff claim that the app was only for food and if I ordered drinks on it I had to collect them at the bar?!.Version: 1.4.0

✓ So convenientMust admit my mate uses this and I thought it was lazy and not convinced it was easier especially seen as it took forever to arrive..HOWEVER being left with loads of bags when we arrived on holiday and the girls disappeared, it was great.. I ordered my cup of tea and didn’t have to be trying to watch my stuff and bless them, was lovely when she bought it over. Today I couldn’t decide so I ordered hers and drinks and while we waited I ordered something on app.. it was disappointing when everything I fancied was out of stock but also handy to see straight away and look up something else whereas I would have gone to bar to order only to find out and then either hold up queue or walk away and queue again.. I am glad I’ve downloaded it, I still prefer to go to the bar but when it’s awkward, this makes it possible!.Version: 2.1.0
✓ Needs 1 improvementIf you want to order food/drinks from the menu as they come then this app is absolutely amazing. Find a table, crash in the seat, whip out your phone and order the food with really easy to navigate menus and payment options, relax and wait for your order to arrive. However, if you want to order something with a slight modification (ie. no ice in drinks, gluten free food, no salad in burger, etc) then this app is woefully lacking, there is no notes box anywhere to be found throughout the ordering process which is extremely frustrating. Other than this minor thing which I feel could be very easily rectified and implemented, I feel the app is a must have after a long day..Version: 1.6.0

✓ Eating OutsideIt’s the first time I have used the app. In principle it is great. I like to cycle and the thought of being able to order a breakfast from an outside table without going to the trouble of locking the bike up and going inside is a great idea. Ordering is a simple process. However the option to make amendments isn’t available. I don’t particularly like tomato’s. If I was ordering from a till, I would ask for an extra mushroom instead. The app does not give this option. I don’t think it would be too difficult for the app to do this though. Even a comments section to the order would be helpful. Service was very speedy for a busy Saturday morning which is a credit to the staff. One other issue I had is that you have no other way of contacting your server again. To my disappointment my beans were missing from my breakfast. I had the choice of going inside, leaving my bike and breakfast to go cold to go inside or just putting up with it. The downside of eating outside was being bothered by a wasp. Not sure the app could help there !! In general, the app is good but with a few tweaks it could be great..Version: 1.13.0

✓ Burning timeI needed somewhere comfortable away from the bustle of Victoria Station and spotted Wetherspoon on the first floor accessed by its own escalator. I noticed an ad on the back of their magazine at the table that I could download their app and order and pay at my table. This was a relief because I have way too much luggage to be dragging it all through the restaurant and no way I was leaving at a table outside on the balcony. I downloaded the App on free wifi, ordered and paid for a beer and a snack and they turned up within minutes. All good I’d say!.Version: 1.13.0

Had W Cod Chips in Abingdon (The Fork Handles) and tonight in The George Wanstead. Absolutely what it is as described ‘Freshly Battered Cod and Chips with peas and a pint for £8.15!). Tasted , once again absolutely superb! Tim Martin gets a lot of flack for no sound reason these days in my opinion , unjustified! Whilst he can provide quality fare like this and a drink at such a price, he should be revered as a National Hero! Then again for some reason sadly,there are people in the UK that always try to knock, criticise and talk down those in the country who are successful, employ thousands and provide a great service with value for money. ✓ My honest Wetherspons app reviewThe day is Wednesday 22nd August, 2018. I am out for casual drinks with friends to celebrate a birthday. It is a slightly overcast day, nothing is out of the ordinary. There are no signs that my life is about to be changed in the way that it Thoroughly has been by this App. Throughout my childhood I have always had difficulty with communication and interacting with people, it has been a genuine and traumatic struggle. I’ve always thought the solution was tackling those problems head on, addressing them and growing as a human being. Overcoming these problems and feeling pride in doing so. ✓ App not working properly !!!Love wetherspoons and the app ,.....BUT ..i have a iphone7 plus , and use zoomed larger text ( i cant be the only one) when you open the app , it asks you to confirm your pub location , you cannot see or press the “ yes im here” at the bottom of the screen because its not there on larger zoomed font , so to use this app i have to go into settings , reduce text size and reduce zoomed to continue , this cannot be right , i have told staff at the last post southend many times , there not interested “the app is run by an outside source” , so have found wetherspoons contact email and notified them , i have received no response at all !!! Also at LAST POST southend , even when i reduce font to continue , i can order drinks but not main meal menu , when you tap this it just crashes and deletes back to home screen. ✓ Poor LaunchI came here with my work colleagues for a meal which we do normally and to be honest the service is not what it yes to be. There seems to be a problem with the chief at this particular Wetherspoons cooking your order ie Steaks wrong which was meant to be medium rare. This afternoon our orders were Pulled Chicken, what came was 4/6 pieces of chicken in the bun which was very disappointing, more over we were waiting for a long period. It was rectified by the manager but there are staffing problems here which you need to look into ASAP. It is clearly effecting the orders here it’s been going on for a while now. I do not normally make complaints, this is going on to often please take this seriously..Version: 1.15.0
✓ Staff & cleaningI would definitely give 5 starts to this place, the only issue that the staff is not cleaning the tables and it is soooo sticky almost on every single table. Also had problem with rude staff members, but when it comes to managers they are amazing. In my opinions team members allow themselves a little bit to much, then they actually can. It is actually ridiculous, when manager is being 1000 way more polite and nice, than just a regular team member. I am a regular customer of Wetherspoons in Aberdeen and Edinburgh airport, I visiting you already for 5 years, and it is actually disappointing that you (such and amazing place when it comes to food and drinks) just don’t care about cleaning, that makes me very sad, but as I said apart from rude team members and cleaning this place is literally heaven, I love you! ✓ Great Wetherspoons badly managedFor some reason, the standards on Thursday 25/10 were the poorest I have ever witnessed at a Wetherspoons. First visit, fantastic accommodation were spoiled by a total breakdown in service inside the pub. We arrived at 6pm, and from that point until 9pm there was a clear understaffing issue with virtually every table uncleared until a new customers food arrived necessitating it being cleared away to get the plates on the table ! The queues at both bars were never huge but you had to wait a ridiculous amount of time to be served by demoralised and disinterested staff who had to keep disappearing to fetch new supplies and glasses from elsewhere. The hatches and glass clearing areas were littered with empties and the total experience was sad to say terrible, which was such a shame as the place itself is terrific Please let's do better it deserves praise and support !.Version: 1.15.0

Bearing in mind this is the 1st time we have used this option we have wasn’t able to adjust the drinks order on the app. The guy that brought out the drinks who now I am told is the one of the duty managers delivered the most appalling level of customer service I have ever experienced in any restaurant. We basically asked if there was any chance we could add some lime to the pint of fosters. He said No they had already been poured and if you wanted lime you should of made your order at the bar. You should do that next time. He was very rude and wanted to turn his back on us as quick as he could. I made a complaint to the other duty manager but as they are at the same level I suspect he didn’t even discuss the complaint with his colleague. ✓ Relatively predictable and good valueThis particular Wetherspoons, The White Lady in Corstorphine, is my favourite. I’ve never had cause to find fault ever, even if a steak was not quite right it has been dealt with in a friendly and efficient manner. Tonight’s visit was to enjoy their Thursday Curry Club. As ever, my Chicken Jalfrezi arrived quickly, was exactly as expected and was delivered with friendliness and professionalism. The app is simple to use and, I have on very reliable authority, popular with the staff. It certainly gives those of us who are of an introverted nature a chance to enjoy a meal and a drink without the social interaction overload that can sometimes occur when ordering at the bar..Version: 4.9

✓ Great App, but can’t order gluten free alterationsI’m disabled and have always depended on a carer or companion to go order for me before this app. Now I am able to be in control, and ordering and service time is excellent. The only problem I have is I am gluten intolerant. One of the reasons I love Wetherspoons , is they have a great gluten free menu. On it though it does advice that some dishes you need to ask for specific items to be changed, as the meal appears on the main menu as well; eg with curries the naan bread should be replaced with extra popadoms. Unfortunately the app does not let you do this, so if I want to order something requiring this sort of change, I’m back to relying on others going to the bar..Version: 1.4.1

✓ Great to be backWhat an absolutely lovely day spent at the Pavilion in Ramsgate. We travelled from our weekend stay in Margate principally to visit this destination pub. The rooftop terrace has ample space to feel free and easy during this ‘unlocking’ period and the views from either side of the terrace did not disappoint. The chilled bottle of Prosecco went down well followed by rum doubles and whatever else we fancied as knowing the amazingly reasonable prices will never break the bank. Not bad for a twenty fifth wedding celebration, going by this my newly accessed draw down pension should last until I eventually pop my clogs. ✓ Good but with terrible service.Twice now I have used this app, 1st time to order food and then to order a beer. On the 1st occasion my food turned up, but because I was at the bar ordering an ale that I couldn’t order on the app when the food turned up, it was taken away and was never to be seen again. Surely you would think that the waiter would try again a few minutes later as who would order food and not actually want it. Eventually I had to wait 50 minutes for my food, utterly ridiculous. On the 2nd occasion I ordered a beer which was poured and handed to the waiter, he never gave it me and 15 minutes later with no beer I had to go to the bar to finally get my beer. Waiting behind a queue of punters ordering food when all you want is a beer is why I used it on this occasion, more fool me..Version: 1.15.0

But: It's a pity the filter function doesn't permit viewing the other dietary options Weatherspoons has prepared - gluten free in my case. I couldn't see it noted elsewhere. The generous 'drink with this meal' (includes non-alcoholic choices) doesn't seem to get flagged for the relevant meals in the app., unless I missed something. It is flagged at the end of the process (although at least once I accidentally skipped it, in ignorance). ✓ Simple to use!Writing this while waiting for my order so see how far I get! I’ve used the app before which is great when there is only one of you as you don’t lose your table while ordering at the bar. My first choice of mixed grill was not available on Saturday lunchtime which was disappointing (hope they have a delivery before tonight). Turf and surf not a bad second choice so let’s hope it’s as good as it sounds. Really fancy a sip of Guinness now, hope it won’t be long..... ten minutes since ordering and getting thirsty, pub looks only about one quarter full. Guess they are limiting numbers due to covid. Nice to be able to sit inside (or outside on a summer day like today) ..... 20 minutes and no drinks yet, getting hungry now too. Only an hour lunch break, hope it comes soon .... foods arrived after 24 minutes, looks pretty plain (no garnish or veg). It is what it says though .... food nice and hot, steak good for budget choice. Scampi nice and hot, a bit of tartare sauce would be nice! ... half an hour and still no drink, boy I’m sweating now.... 33 minutes, drunk arrived with an apology. Server very polite and obviously his best .... definitely 8/10 score (and that’s because the sun is shining). ✓ Needs a little somethingSo traveling to london quite often ive noticed with breakfast the eggs come fried over easy, REAL OVER EASY. There should he a add comment section to the order so you can request over hard or even ask for an extra glass or maybe even no sausage. Random things so you can still use the app as intended i.e. not getting up and going to the bar. Other than that its great. However, if I come away from the app for any reason, such as to read a message received, it doesn’t hold the details entered so far and I have to start over again- it would be useful to be able to have what you’re going to order put in in advance then just click send when we get there, so more time can be spent catching up with people and less time fussing with the phone. Some photos of each meal would be good also, like we used to get on the menus before the world turned upside down and inside out..Version: 5.0

✓ Food todayService was not great. Was not told that they did not have the honey glaze with my chicken strips order which had I known I would not have ordered in the first place. We had four meals in total and three came out long before the last one. You had also run out of tartar sauce which is terrible considering one of the meals was fish! When I went to complain / advise the bar staff of the missing items I was quickly brushed aside and to top it all it took nearly 10-15 mins to get a shot of alcohol which then had to be chased up. While looking through the menu on my phone I found that burger and drink prices didn’t initially show which was confusing. I was later told by the manager it would show up at the end. But at this time I had already ordered food from the bar. The lack of a comments box is greatly frustrating as a Simple request of no chipotle mayo and to swap with only a bbq sauce could not be facilitated. Hence ordering at the bar. This is a fundamental floor of making customers customise there food. I can imagine many people would like to possibly request no salad in their burger etc. With this in mind I have scored it a 4 at this time..Version: 1.4.1

✓ PrioritiesI don’t often use the app which seems to work ok however I greatly dislike the way the orders are managed in my local Wetherspoons The Sir Henry Tate Chorley. I have been waiting patiently at the bar to purchase 1 pint of beer for over twenty minutes while the bartender prioritises every order received via the app before finally serving me this is despite orders seemingly having been placed long after I first started waiting at the bar. It seems Wetherspoons has a policy of employing a skeleton staff at all time’s of day and I sympathise greatly with the staff and the never ending tasks they are given however having been left stood at the bar with the one member of bar staff taking electronic orders via the monitor screen with no acknowledgement “Sorry about your wait Sir” or “Ill be with you as soon as possible” etc is at very least disappointing..Version: 2.1.0

I like lime and lemonade, I can order a glass of lemonade, but there is no function to add lime to it, my partner likes gravy and often wishes there was more on his plate, but you cannot add extra, my Mum likes chips and gravy, again no option, the other problem we often have is the app times out when trying to pay! Also, I am gluten free, I often have the chicken tikka with extra poppadoms, instead of naan, and you cannot make that alteration either! Pudding in under 6 minutes thank you once again. Downside no refund on parking voucher ...today we are at the George in Wanstead. Refunded with no problems in cash👌🏿 thank you a quick solution. However why do the parking firm and whether-spoons collaborate and add a number to parking voucher which the customer could enter on the app while completing their purchase then this would also ensure that the customer has to undertake the minimum stipulated spend before redeeming voucher. ✓ Great but not showing menus recentlyThis app used to be amazing, but every time I go to use the app recently it comes up as “menus unavailable”, although people around me are able to see the menus and order from the app. Therefore the past 3 times I’ve gone to spoons, I’ve had to delete and redownload the app to order, only for the same thing to happen another day the next time I go. When I redownload the app it works perfectly and I can see all menus and make orders again so I don’t understand why it’s happening as it never use to. It’s disappointing as my local spoons has no signal so I have to go outside to redownload the app as the WiFi only works for the app and there’s always a huge queue at the bar. Apart from this the spoons app is amazing!! A great future update would be the ability to take items out of dish orders as it would be far easier for eaters..Version: 2.1.0

✓ Super SpoonsI've always enjoyed great service and food/drink at a Wetherspoon pub. But now they have this App where I can order whatever I want from the table !! And generally it's even quicker than if I went to the bar myself. Also handy as these pubs get so busy you can sometimes get back and find some group has nicked your table !! The app is so simple to use and it remembers your previous orders too. I am now about 63 years young, and even I can use it. As far as I know this us the only App available in U.K. Pubs. It's the absolute nuts !! Gotta go, I need to order another Stella . He he he!! ✓ Sunny DayI attended Weatherspoon Cardiff Bay, with my husband & 3 children. It was busy, we managed to find a table outside (unfortunately we couldn’t get a sea view & was next to bush). Member of staff cleaned table when asked. Food & drink took a bit longer than expected. Food was lovely for price. My husband would have like runny eggs (with ham & chips) & a few more chips. On Childs menu, chicken nuggets were ordered, but my son doesn’t like batter. We had to walk around a lot of tables to find mayo & get other condiments. The chicken burger was served without mayo/any other sauce. My daughter would have liked it to come with mayo & more salad. Even though it was busy outside, other guests were not near us, so was comfortable & nice atmosphere to eat & drink..Version: 5.1

✓ Great app....Fantastic if you are a single customer in a busy Wetherspoon location. You can find a seat and order your requirements without the problem of losing your seat whilst queuing at the bar. The receipts are good too though an option to print or save those receipts to other locations or apps such as scanner pro would be good. One small problem - on paying you get an option to scan (and possibly save?) your payment card. Don’t bother. The option is way too sensitive. You seem to have to be able to hold the phone so still for too long to enable the green box around the card to scan the card. Effectively, because of this requirement, it doesn’t work. Work required on this feature, please developers! Otherwise though, a fab app. Get it if you use “Spoons” a lot!.Version: 1.6.0
✓ What’s not to like?I am and will always be a staunch supporter of the Wetherspoon business model. In my view if one were to draw any analogies; I would say that this is the Aldi of British Pubs. They provide a no nonsense service that’s not only very good but great value for money. Today I have just downloaded the Wetherspoon App on IOS and and have ordered a meal and inclusive pint of Abbots Ale for circa £6:00. Elsewhere I could pay almost £4:00 just for the drink! The Pulled Chicken Bun with Sriracha Sauce and side salad has cost me just over £2:00. I didn’t even have to get off my ample derrière to order it, just click on few places on my mobile. The meal and drink was delivered in under 10 minutes by the way. Happy drinking and Dining you guys. ✓ Great app, really useful, but...Great app, really useful, but it could use a way to personalise food and drinks more, you can add things to orders but you can’t remove anything, so for like ordering burgers I have a friend who is allergic to tomato and there is no way to remove it through the app. Also when adding stuff to anything like burgers or pizza most of the time if you add multiple things onto more than one pizza there will always be someone coming out to ask which add on is for what pizza and when we add lots of things to our food, even though they come out and ask there is usually something still wrong. ✓ Great but with one faultSince starting to use the app, everything has been fine. Only used it in one location, so this could be down to the the good level of staff at the William Stead in Darlington. The only complaint I have is that I cannot register a bank or credit card, meaning ever time I order a drink or food I have to put all my card details in again, I use this on a iPad, rather than a phone , if this makes a difference I do not know. Apart from that everything seems to work ok, some people who have complained about having to wait a long time for service, I think that is down to the local management of the establishment, not the app..Version: 2.3

So much for this being a simplistic and easy ordering service. The only remedy I found was to delete your stupid app and re download it again. ✓ Miss j.dimovaHello there , the system is ok for young people or people who are dealing with their phones all the time, but my mum almost was going to leave the place when she realised that she have to order though the app. I understand that it’s much easier for the member of staff, when the pub is busy, but if mum wasn’t with me ,she would go to the other place to have her lunch! I must admit when I was asking for assistance the young girl at the front door ,she was absolutely fantastic! She even helped me to download the app as I wasn’t sure how it looks like the actual icon ! I am so happy with the customer service!
