Poor transfer from Yodlee to Salt EdgeAfter using for well over a year, the transfer of service provider by app seems to have been carried out badly. New provider requires new accounts set up, and no support on how to consolidate historic transactions which have all been documented leaving what was a brilliant app to become as disjointed as all the other options. Solution to this would be much appreciated, customer support not helpful on this issue, and fact that during this transition, there was no communication and on querying I was told I’d have to wait until updates are complete. Disappointed in drop in performance, I am looking at alternatives!!.Version: 3.6.1

Stopped working after last (18/10/17) update.Stopped working and writers reset ratings and deleted reviews..Version: 2.6.6

Forecasts are all wrong nowI love this app. I use it daily. It is great to budget for future expenses and the forecasts are fantastic. This is the only app I have been able to find that will provide me with forecasts. However, after the last update the forecasts are all wrong if my accounts are set to only show cleared accounts. If I have pending payments that I have moved from my scheduled payments to my account register, but they have not cleared; it seems that the forecast double counts them and shows accounts going negative. The workaround for now is to also show pending charges in my accounts..Version: 3.3.2

Not functionalMy checking and savings acct still don’t sync after 6 months. Money wiz blames sync bit but if you sell the program you are responsible for troubleshooting also!! The balancing portion of the program doesn’t make any sense! You shouldn’t be able to go back to prior months once they are reconciled. I’ve never seen any program like this(not in a good way)! Income is an issue for me also.....if I go shopping spend $20 and return $10 then the expense for shopping should decrease by $10-I should not have income for $10 ugh. For someone without accounting experience it may be fine but I won’t be renewing..Version: 2.7.6

Greatest personal book-keeping app but lag problem appears againI’ve upgraded from MoneyWiz 2 to 3, and purchased for the premium. The lagging problem I’ve met on the second generation happens again (when I open this app and try to add an entry immediately, it always lag a lot before I can input anything). I have used this app for 3 years and there are thousands of translations. But I don’t think this should happen anyway. Pls help me to get rid of this. Thank you!.Version: 3.5.8

Didn’t even try to useI am trying to switch to iPad pro as main computer and abandon definitely mac book. Financial app is the most difficult to find and this could have been a possibility but.... (correct me if I am wrong), there is no way to back up data unless subscribing to them and be charged 60$ a year even if I don’t need synchronize between mac and ipad and or connect to banks. Yes app is free but they should have charge a price for the app and and make it usable if you don’t use other features. In this way I have a free app but should I loose or break tablet I can loose important data..Version: 3.0.4

Excellent basic app but subscription too highI’ve used MoneyWiz for a number of years and it does nearly all I want it to really, really well. However, I do not want all the “bells and whistles” of online banking connectivity etc. I would like to use SyncBits to sync between a desktop and a tablet but not at £60 a year for functionality well beyond what I’m ever going to use. If I could get a sensibly priced subscription for the basic app plus synchronising between my 2 devices, I’d rate it 5 stars..Version: 3.8.5

Sync Errors and incorrect balancesThe idea behind this app is great the it’s not functioning properly as proposed. I seems to get balances of my bank records not matching the records of my Online Banking. It will be nice if the sync can refresh and automatically remove duplicate from the bank transaction recordI. I have been in touch with technical support but no reasonable solution has been proffer..Version: 2.7.6

A lot of sync issuesI’ve been a happy MoneyWiz customer since i think 2015, but since moving over to version 3 I’ve had nothing but problems with my account reliably syncing between my devices. I would say at least once a month my iPad and Mac just stop syncing with my phone and it either takes a lot of trial and error on my part or an eventual support email where they have to reset my syncbits account. I’m very hesitant to move because I have to much historical data here that will likely be hard to properly import into a new system, but I’m about at the breaking point. If it were free that would be one thing, but I feel like I’m paying $50/yr for mediocrity..Version: 3.7.2

Be warned 1 week free trialNo where on this app page does it say one week free trial. So after you download & signup & input all your information and set things up. A week later you be hit with a subscription sign up. Information like that should always be at the l in view for consumer before they download and try your application. Doing other wise is anti consumer friendly. & poor business practices. I could understand a one time purchase but a subscription policy ? No this app is a pass.Version: 3.8.4

Great app but poor account layoutThere is no calendar in the app so anything just crowd together..Version: 3.7.5

ComplicatedToo complicated.Version: 2.5.3

Pending???This clueless app can’t reconcile the transactions it deems to be “”pending”” even though they aren’t pending. Now it thinks I have hundreds of dollars more than I do 👍🏽👍🏽.Version: 3.7.8

A step backwardsSadly Mark’s review on the 26th June is spot on. This is a step backwards made worse by the fact that it does not even feel like a finished product. I have been a huge fan of Moneywhiz since v1. Their reply to keep using v2 does not stand as they won’t develop it any further so it’s just delaying the inevitable. If v3 is the future they need to have an emergency meeting because it does not work and the subscription is not worth it. Thanks for the free trial but I’m cancelling my subscription. Sad day. Might be time to look at the next best thing out there. Nothing lasts forever as they say.Version: 3.0.4

Export .qifUpdate 2: An exported CSV file is not a specific financial file type, but rather just a plain text spreadsheet file that can contain anything. That makes importing a CSV file more complicated and error prone. Importing a CSV file can only be done one account at a time and it is required that the account is already setup in the program prior to being able to import transactions. Also, split transactions cannot be imported from a CSV file. Update 1: As you said on April 13, 2015 “Re: QIF Export from MoneyWiz 2 Indeed this is something we are considering to add in the future updates of MoneyWiz 2 :) Can't tell you when exactly it will be ready as currently we are focused on fixing bugs, and improving stability and performance.” Original: I'm sorry. I will not use this product until you implement export to a .qif file. You promised it, and you haven't delivered..Version: 3.7.2

Theoretically great… in reality not.On paper, this app boasts great features, a good range of different accounts to add, and a privacy policy which most can get behind. But I can’t remember a time I didn’t have an issue or two with this app. Things go out of sync often, and so you can compare the numbers on your iPad and phone and there will normally be at least one account which differs between your two devices, despite things being pulled from the cloud. Then, the bank sync bit for some reason doesn’t work well. One of my credit cards is connected, apparently, but hasn’t pulled any new transactions since Mar (it is now Oct), so the balance is wrong. The numbers in my revolut accounts which pull through are just nonsense, I don’t even think based on historical data… not sure where they came from but I’m also not sure why pulling read-only data and displaying a number doesn’t work, and why things aren’t up to date. Often, it takes several attempts to go through the security the get the sync working in the first place. Overall, were this a little more polished it would be great… it’s hard to justify paying for it for another year when it breaks frequently enough for it to be not useful unfortunately..Version: 3.8.6

Not worth a subscription feeI’ve been using Moneywiz for years. MW2 was a great upgrade. Very stable. Everything worked. Then they went to a subscription model. Now nothing works properly. Every few months you have to reconnect your accounts. Ok, there’s a logic there. Except only the iOS device tells you that. The desktop app, just doesn’t work and you don’t know why. Their online help is useless. I don’t think I’ve ever had a problem actually be resolved by their help desk. It’s a shame. If it actually did the things they promised, it would be fantastic..Version: 3.8.5

Latest version backward step..I have been a subscriber of this app for many years, and have always loved the ability to track my finances. The latest version doesn’t allow you to sort “oldest transactions to newer” . Doesn’t sound like a deal breaker, but that is the most logical way in my view, mirroring bank statements. You always were able to sort by “ascending or Descending” but no longer. You can on the Mac version, but not on the iPhone/pad app. A review from 2 or 3 weeks ago made the same point, and the ability to sort was promised but has still to be delivered. Come on MoneyWiz; most of us aren’t looking for the ability to manage Cryptocurrency but sterling (other currencies are available) sort it out and I will go back to 5 stars.........Version: 3.2.0

Charged me twice & says I don’t have an active accountI put a lot of time into entering my information into your app, months worth of Transactions assigned and budgeted. I did this while I am recovering from 3 broken limbs (both arms and a wrist were two of the broken limbs) so it wasn’t an easy task for me at all. And now it seems I spent all that time and effort (often in pain) for absolutely nothing. I took up an offer of a discount from an email sent by YOUR office (see below) - I clicked the link, was charged twice, now you seemingly won’t accept that I paid at all and say that I don’t have an active subscription - you didn’t seem to have a problem with my account when the money was pending. Totally unacceptable..Version: 3.7.8

Double TroubleA useful app if it had some way of identifying and managing expenses recorded for same amount same day same payee on two unrelated accounts. Maybe it does but two messages since April 2018 about this to their team have still to be answered. At least we cannot find an answer. Now im thinking of dumping Money Wiz and finding a bookkeeping app which we can trust. Sad— so many finance apps are overwhelmingly loaded with the fancy finance stuff. NotMoney Wiz. And loads of standard reports, but no way to check for double entries. And apparently not very keen on customer service: at very least. replies should be easily recognizable as from Money Wiz so that email searches will find them. Until thisr faults are fixed, it is unreliable. Or until someone corrects my perceptions which admittedly could be incorrect..Version: 3.0.3

Not worth itMint is a better app, plus it's all free!.Version: 2.5.7

Completely UselessAre you guys joking ? The app does not even let me get past the security feature to verify I am human - I just keep getting asked to endlessly click on images. Complete fail - money back please !.Version: 2.5.12

Confusing Update Cycle, Expensive SyncI’ve been using MoneyWiz for years - always standalone having tried Premium subs twice and confirmed they add no value to me - but the new release timeline and upgrade paths for MW3 must have been conceived by committee. You won’t find a more confused and convoluted path in any other app. Like many others, online banking sync isn’t that useful to me and until MoneyWiz supports Open Banking in the UK, it’s not something I’ll consider. That makes syncing a very expensive purchase or waiting a year to see what MW3 standalone brings (given the MW3 was 4 months behind its due date, a 2018 release seems unlikely). That said, the new crypto functionality might be useful to some. Perhaps MoneyWiz has moved on to a different market in the last few years and I’m just not in the demographic anymore..Version: 3.0.3

Good but badI love the app, but i have been working with tech support to solve a connection issue with my one bank. The folks at MoneyWiz have been great but they need to reevaluate who they work with as third parties..Version: 3.7.4

Not convincedI’ve used MoneyWiz since 2013 and have seen a lot of good and great features added. With this version, I’m not convinced. Sure the new design is brighter and more colourful, but the icon roundels are massive (size of icons in settings is about right) and certain UX is now lacking; for example, you now can’t create a transaction and switch apps to read details from another app. The create/edit transaction screen just disappears. Additionally, scroll performance of transactions is janky (even on an XS Max), the statistics tab is bugged (all 0 except liabilities), and some of my scheduled transactions have skipped to the next payment, since the update. Fixable, but not ideal. And you _still_ can’t set a custom month start date for when you get your salary paid in. I don’t use calendar months because it wouldn’t make much sense, reporting-wise..Version: 3.1.1

DisappointedHave been using MoneyWiz 2 for last few years and was very happy with it , so decided to upgrade to MoneyWiz 3. Bought both the versions on iOS and MacOS ( they aren’t cheap btw ), so far the interface is cumbersome , syncing only works if it has to. Whenever I transfer the funds into different accounts or receive any payments , it always goes to “ pending “ and I always have to manually “ clear “ them. I agree the aesthetic of this version is far superior than its predecessor , however not the functionality. I wish I could go back to previous version and get my money back..Version: 3.4.1

Long Time User - Poor sync supportI have been using MoneyWiz for three years now. During that time there have been issues and I have worked though them, because there are not many options since Quicken cant get it right. But this last round of problems have been the ultimate frustration. I have had account sync issues and have have been working with support for more than two months now to resolve the issues. I know they would say it’s out of their control because they use a third party for the syncing, but having no live support is not means you cant count on this software to maintain your day do day account balances, unless you can go days - weeks - months, not having some accounts syncing. MoneyWiz is not based in the US, and don’t keep US based hours for support, so every issues takes many hours to receive a response. I think its time to move on..Version: 3.6.0

Syncbits drags this downIf you only use the app on one device then fine, but Syncbits is a nightmare. Restoring a database works but it's then overwritten by Syncbits. I've just noticed all my categories have disappeared in settings even though they still appear in my scheduled transaction details. Today I asked the developers how to restore a database without it being overwritten by Syncbits and they sent me an article from Apples website on how to restore my whole phone! As for the online banking sync, just don't. I had 2.5 years of data duplicated. Apparently that's been now fixed but I've recently tried it again and the transactions in MoneyWiz are a different order to what's on my statement. This is definitely the last version I'll be paying for..Version: 3.5.1

Terrible with unresolved issues over 15 monthsThe main purpose of this app is around the automatic connection to the bank accounts. Random transactions across accounts don't download, throwing the entire balances and financial planning plus budgeting off! Painful to say the least. Inspite of many back & forth the issues just dont get resolved by the tech support. Waste of $84 annually..Version: 2.5.3

Problems with $50-SubscriptionI upgraded to Money Wiz 3 Premium a few days ago, and the system keeps having trouble recognizing my subscription. It worked initially, then stopped working. Support emailed me instructions that must be outdated because the steps do not play out the way the instructions indicate. Deleting the app and then re-downloading it and signing in again made it started working again. However, the next day, it stopped recognizing my subscription (my $50-subscription) again. So, again, I had to delete and then re-download the app and sign in again to make it start working. Support said that a future updated subscription service would solve the issues, but I paid $50 for a subscription that was sold as already working, not “will work in the future.” I want this fixed. I shouldn’t have to keep deleting and re-downloading the app. There must a solution, and it should have already been provided to me the first time..Version: 3.1.4

Great when it works, but too many sync issuesI’ve been using this app for a while and for the most part it’s been excellent. However, the one area is seems to continually fall over in is sync. I’ve had to wipe and re-sync individual devices dozens of times, and most recently something has caused a few of my accounts’ balances to go out, but since I’ve got years of data in there I really don’t have the time to go through and work out what’s wrong this time. Buyer beware..Version: 3.0.4

Subscription required for everythingI am deeply disappointed to discover that A subscription is required even to do a manual entries. I understand a subscription for online banking downloads however why would you charge a subscription for manual entries after having us pay for the app. Unfortunately I did not discover this until I have a loaded all my data and started going through the options and then discovered that for unlimited manual entries a subscription was required. You should state this upfront..Version: 2.1.1

DisappointedI purchased MoneyWiz and have been using it since 2014. With the release of iOS 14 my MoneyWiz 2 started crashing after every transaction. So I updated to MoneyWiz 3. To my surprise they now want to charge me a subscription to back up to synbits? No thank you! I’ll look for something else before I pay a monthly fee. People that have been using you all these years should be grandfathered but as usual no loyalty to customers. You’re software got popular from us long time users via recommendations..Version: 3.8.3

Long time user.I’ve used this app for years and absolutely love it. But having updated to MoneyWiz 3 because the new iOS update didn’t play nice with MoneyWiz 2, I feel like the developers are really reaching here. I under understand your employees have to eat but forcing a paid subscription just in order to switch to dark theme or to change the icon is a bit ridiculous. And not to mention Syncbits no longer works on the free version. I’m for real just want to say to heck with it and find another app. I just don’t use the other features like syncing with my bank to justify the price. I know my business and input really doesn’t matter compared to the many who do pay the price but I just needed to vent a little..Version: 3.8.5

Update with the new UI not intuitiveHaving used MoneyWiz since it’s 1.0 days, I’ve been really happy with the MacApp and find it extremely intuitive. When switching from Mac to iOS the user interactions and flows aren’t the same. Understanding that it’s a different device and different interactions but for anyone switching between the two it’s easy. Interface is clean and sleek but doesn’t reflect the Mac app, I’m struggling to do the basics with it. The iPad version is a little better..Version: 3.6.0

Support lackingI’ve been enjoying Moneywiz’s manual function for a couple of years. I tried the paid subscription for the first time and experienced daily errors with updating my accounts. I love the manual version of the app but I’m rating it 2 stars because, when presented with the problem, Moneywiz/Yodlee support ignored my issues and tried to close my support ticket without addressing my problems. It’s a shame because the app is great, but I won’t continue to pay for the subscription after this customer service experience - especially since my accounts are still not updating..Version: 3.0.4

MW3 has been a disappointmentI was using MW2 for some time with the automated transaction tracking and then it stopped working one day. After numerous emails back and forth I was told about the switch to open banking taking place (poor communication!) I got invited to join the beta test for MW3 I did that in the hope of helping to make things better but that has been a disaster after been told I wouldn’t be charged while I was testing, I’ve been charged and less two weeks after that charge I log into the app to be told I need to pay again!! On top of that no one from support is answering my emails about this. I’ve had enough of this service - I’m now searching for an alternative!.Version: 3.6.1

Solid performance, missing featureSolid piece of software with only an occasional nasty bug. Connects directly to your bank account, which is a little scary but very convenient. I am assured by the software developers that this is secure, and I am happy to pay for this feature with cash rather than my privacy. Well done MoneyWiz. Automatic classification of transactions is a hit and miss, mostly miss. Learning feature seems to be entirely based on name matching so if you buy bread from Woolworths and classify it as groceries, next time you buy petrol from Woolworths it will be classified as groceries. Hunting down misclassified transactions is very time consuming, so it was faster to turn that feature off altogether and just classify manually. The software is not capable of detecting transfers between two accounts, even in the same name and at the same back. It will be entered twice, once as withdrawal from one account, and once as a deposit in another. This will mess up your total income and spending sums. You can once again manually hunt down these transactions and change them to transfer, but then you have to also find the matching transaction on other end and delete it or you will have a double deposit or withdrawal. Also very time consuming. All in all, while there is plenty of room for improvement, it saves more time than it consumes, and subscription is reasonably priced, especially as it favours privacy over analytics. A solid 3 stars - works as expected with some annoyances..Version: 3.5.5

Disgraceful!I bought the first version of Moneywiz for the phone and then I bought one for the MacBook. When the second version came out, I wanted to buy one for my iPad put they pulled the first version of moneywiz for the the iPad forcing me to buy the second version for the iPhone and the iPad making the first version obsolete. Although the design and functionality of the app was fine, those greedy money haulers forced the AD SPAN in an update even though I paid for all of my apps and have not requested for adds. Another annoying thing is that they put it on the bottom of the screen instead of the top making you more likely to click on it. They even admit that they did it to get the money from the ads. Developers are VERY Unethical (I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!!).Version: 2.7.1

Wish it could link to Hargreaves LansdownI’ve suggested this over email, and I don’t see why the UK’s largest provider of personal pensions wouldn’t be supported. Otherwise this app and it’s desktop counterparts are perfect. I simply can’t manage my portfolio manually, there’s too much going on. All my other accounts update absolutely perfectly, best finance tracking app I’ve ever used, but the lack of HL support docks it two stars because that’s where I keep most of my money..Version: 3.7.5

Great as long as you don’t use online bankingHaving been satisfied with Moneywiz for over 4 years I have recently been disappointed. The offline functionality of the App is excellent but the online banking has become a train wreck, it’s impossible to have any confidence in it since the underlying system changed. Moneywiz blame their service provider but that doesn’t really help the paying customer..Version: 3.6.5

Hit and missHad this for sometime now - overall works ok - since upgrading to 3 and paying the subscription it’s gone down in my estimation - it regularly drops out on other devices and tells me I have no subscription and have to delete and reload - the banking business is a pain and still waiting to be able to sync since all the changes so all in all the subscription is a bit of a waste of money.Version: 3.6.1
