IDAGIO Stream Classical Music for Positive User Reviews

Very GoodIDAGIO is a very good app in my opinion and has pretty much everything that Apple has. It has better organisation and doesn’t classify Mitsuko Uchida’s Beethoven late Sonata’s as……. Electronica. Your Welcome..Version: 1.46.1

Welcome to North America, IDAGIO!I am a professional musician and have been looking for this kind of thorough, scholarly, and and very well organized service for years! Want to study performance practice of Beethoven symphonies? You have over 290 versions/recordings of Beethoven’s 7th Symphony alone! Further, I love the way Idagio has included local performers in the mix. Likewise, many composers whom one may not know are included, always a plus. I am thoroughly impressed with this service and I highly recommend to any lover of great music. A service worth listening to and supporting!.Version: 1.21.2

A Good ThingIdagio is excellent: serious, high quality and compendious. I love the Radio system for different composers. Why not have a general radio covering everything? The selection of new releases does perform that office, though. I recommend this service..Version: 1.44.1

Gemstone JohnnyI love the variety of great classical music BEST 2019.Version: 1.21.6

My only music appIt is the best source of classical music I have ever seen. The highest order of praise should go to Idaho..Version: 1.26.4

Brilliant appLovely choices of music to suit my mood. I’m finding pieces I’ve never met before too..Version: 1.46.1

Perfect if you’ve always wanted explore classical music but didn’t know how to startI use this app everyday. I’ve always been interested in classical music, but never had a way to really understand what I was listening to. The collections and playlists got me started. at the same time the moods button gives you a simple way to jump into music appropriate for how you’re feeling at the moment. I happily pay for this app because it does a great service..Version: 1.48.4

Beautiful musicBeautiful music.Love enjoying violin and piano music..Version: 1.35.0

Best streaming for classical music periodI've always been fascinated by classical music but was intimidated by the hugeness of everything. So many composers, so many symphonies. But Idagio puts fun in classical music. The home page shows new releases and some highlights based on what you've listened to. This is a good place to start of you have no idea where to start. Then you can pick a station based on mood. I find this feature to be very useful and accurate. And then, you can search by a specific computer, performance, symphony, whatever. It's very very detailed, which I love. You can also upgrade to listen in lossless format. Really just amazing app all together..Version: 1.21.2

A place for everyone to dive in the amazing world of classical musicAs a still youngster (at least at heart) I love this app which lets me enjoy an independent music library from the regular streaming services where it can be quite difficult to find composers, performers or orchestras. Kudos IDAGIO!.Version: 1.27.2

Really goodMakes finding/listening to classical easy and hassle free. Other mainstream music streaming services just don’t work well with classical music. Even if the catalogue is there... the music is difficult to find unless you already know the exact thing you’re looking for. This is just one thing amongst many that IDAGIO overcomes. It would be cool to have a feature to quickly/easily add a track to your favourites using like a hot key on the computer or a series of inline headphone buttons. Although this might be impossible to implement....Version: 1.28.0

Great app, lots of small bugs but hopefully will get fixedChromecast streaming never seem to work with the mood functionality, but otherwise great app..Version: 1.47.1

Excellent service, excellent applicationThe capability to browse by composer, the vastety of the catalog and the sound quality makes that app an excellent choice for me..Version: 1.47.1

Very impressedI wish I knew more about classical music so I would know the artists and types but I’m really enjoying clicking around and exploring. wish you had an Apple TV app. Really enjoying listening to your free service. I’m sure I’ll subscribe and I appreciate the free version. Between all the streaming video services for tv plus music streaming for music it is adding up. Thank you and great luck. Sounds awesome.Version: 1.26.4

ExcellentA really good way to learn about classical music a suggestion it would be really good to have the app work across all IOS devices based on a single subscription.Version: 1.23.5

It’s just getting better and betterI’ve been using this app for about a year now and it’s simply getting better and better. I’m using it for hours every day and it has totally transformed the way I listen to music. I cannot imagine a better app for classical music!.Version: 1.22.0

DownloadI typically use classic FM ( which is good but has so many ads) or Apple Music to enjoy classical music. If these two apps had a child this would be it. Huge library of music but great curation that allows you to enjoy the most popular songs alongside lesser known ones. Highly recommend..Version: 1.23.3

Tried Apple Classical. No, thanks. As a long-time Apple user, and a long-time Idagio user, I was curious to see how Apple Classical measured up. The signs weren’t good. Almost all the initial reviews were from tech mags, and were of the Oh, wow, awesome school. It was clear that the reviewers knew very little about classical music and had no real idea of the problems it poses in terms of organisation, metadata, multiple versions, naming… What’s more, most of the reviewers seemed to be think there has been a huge gap in the market for a classical music app. Sure, they had heard of Primephonic (but possibly never used it) but almost none of them mentioned that Idagio has been around for a while, and has cracked the problems. And is available for iPad. And allows offline listening. Anyway, I’ve tried the Apple offering now, and I’ve erased it. Even if Apple can make it as good as Idagio, what’s the point? Idagio is pretty much perfect..Version: 1.48.7

Amazing!Idagio is an absolutely brilliant service, and incredible value for money. At last lovers of classical music like me have a bespoke streaming app. The range and choice is first class, and the sound quality excellent. I cannot praise Idagio highly enough. A huge thank you from a very happy customer!.Version: 1.21.6

A work in progressI’m delighted with this app. As a classical music enthusiast of almost 50 years, with few exceptions, I find the depth of the catalogue very impressive indeed. Slight gripes? Yes, one or two. The Naxos catalogue is very under represented, and I find the inability to sort my collection really irritating. Having said that, this is a piece of work that is under constant development and expansioN , and 10 euros a month (through the website) for such an amazing catalogue is good value..Version: 1.34.3

Really great appBrilliant, well designed app. The specific catalogue is extensive (much more so than competing music apps), well documented, and available in lossless formats. I love the fantastic tools to find different recordings of the same pieces - you select what you want to listen to (say, Mozart’s 40th) and then piece the specific recording you would like (eg Fricsay’s version). It’s truly a fantastic innovation. Suggestions for the future: - iPad & Watch apps. - More of ‘The Basics’ with the fantastic descriptions. Perhaps an audio introductory sentence option before each piece to explain it? That would be fantastic for beginners. - Sleep timer (this is absolutely essential, and it’s a real shame there isn’t one built in already).Version: 1.18.3

New school ClassicalIt’s been really enjoyable to use Idagio as the layout is beautiful and the options are extensive. Also, am enjoying discovering new, modern artists. ... I’d really love to have larger quantities of vintage recordings also. ( there is such charm in modest recording methods from day, 1940’s onwards) . I enjoy this app, very very much 👍.Version: 1.25.1

Exactly What I Was Looking ForI’ve struggled for a while trying to organize my classical collection on iTunes without much success for a simple reason: iTunes organizes music by track. That doesn’t work for classical music. When I found IDAGIO I cleared my classical collection from iTunes and I rebuilt it on IDAGIO. Now I find myself listening to IDAGIO all the time. I love the sound quality and the search engine. I can find what I want to listen to quickly and I can enjoy it and get lost in the music thanks to this little app. One request to the product management team: Please give us CarPlay support. I want to see IDAGIO on the CarPlay screen in my car. You’ll make a lot of us very happy when it finally comes out..Version: 1.23.1

Better than the other dedicated classical appsIt is more convenient to use this app to listen to good recordings than having to worry about ads on YouTube. I’d rather subscribe the idagio service than eviltube premium. I also appreciate this app for not having a comment section. I used to use other classical streaming apps but they had social media infestation which sullies the ‘experience’.Version: 1.53.0

Stream over 2 million tracks for free??I was very disappointed to discover on signing up that this applies only for a 2-week trial period, after which the subscription charge kicks in. I don’t think ‘in-app purchases’ quite covers it. A shame - love the interface, content and sound quality, but don’t like feeling duped by promotion..Version: 1.27.3

Better sound and better search facilitiesIDAGIO is specifically designed to explore Classical Music. With Classical Music it is not just the piece of music that is important, it is the specific performance. IDAGIO enables you to find both the work and the performance you are looking for much more easily than other streaming services. The FLAC sound quality is noticeably more detailed than rival services..Version: 1.23.5

New Premium+ subscriberI signed up to IDAGIO a few days ago and I’ve been thrilled and increasingly excited by the quality of both the App and the music especially with lossless streaming. The breadth and depth of the titles available is incredible and I can’t believe I put up with other (free) inferior online streaming services where I struggled to find the specific recording I wanted and/or the full album was not available. The functionality of the App has to be seen, and used, to fully appreciate its uniqueness, other sites just do not compare. Searching (always a problem with classical music on other streaming services) is easy and functions brilliantly irrespective of how you order your search enquiry. This is a first class+ classical music streaming service and I would recommend it without any hesitation..Version: 1.41.0

At last a good classical music appGood selection of new releases, easy interface to find works, enjoyable curated lists - almost perfect. When casting to Google Chromecast the app can get a little lost as to whether it's playing an album, a single track or occasionally anything at all with freezes, but the look on the screen is good. What about support for Google home - that would be great..Version: 1.24.3

Excellent choiceLike increasing number of tracks. Strong point is that each item offers a selection of recordings..Version: 1.18.4

Exactly what is neededI had been thinking for a long time about how classical music had no approachable streaming service and I had even worked on how a proper service should be organized. This is almost exactly how I had envisioned it and even better. For anyone who is turned off by the subscribe, consider for a moment how little money there is in classical music. Consider how the appreciation of classical music has been fading. Paying for this service is giving another chance for classical music to be explored at ease and to breath again in this new age of technology. I immediately signed up for the service because I believe this team deserves every cent of it. Thank you for this great app.Version: 1.23.0

FaultlessThis is the only way that I can describe my time with IDAGIO. The variety of music on tap was an inspiration to try out new pieces, and the chosen pieces by the editors were sometimes magical during lockdown..Version: 1.37.0

ExcellentBest classical music app. It's clean, easy to use, organized, and has a very wide selection of pieces..Version: 1.21.8

Really Nice! (Aside from subscription)I really love classical music, and this app has a seemingly endless supply of it! Therefore, I thoroughly enjoy this app; however, I docked one star bc it does require a paid subscription. FRET NOT: upon first opening it so generously gives 2 weeks free of the subscription, but after that, tbh I am unsure of how much it costs. I am not one to pay for subscriptions, so at first I was going to stop it after the trial was up, but the app is so good that I may continue it (depending on how much it asks me to pay). Overall, wonderful app, I recommend trying it even if you do not wish to continue the subscription beyond the trial (which is completely understandable) bc its really nice to have all of this classical music if only for 2 weeks..Version: 1.21.1

BEST APP!Perfect app for all your classical needs! Forget apple music and spotify! HERE YOU CAN FIND THE BEST RECORDINGS, EVERYTHING YOU COULD EVER WANT REGARDING CLASSICAL MUSIC ALL HERE IN ONE CLEVERLY DESIGNED APP!.Version: 1.23.5

Amazing!Quality classical music with a neat and beautiful interface!.Version: 1.26.1

OutstandingOutstanding.Version: 1.35.2

MarvellousIDAGIO is a wonderful resource. Much, much better than Apple; larger collection and easier to use. Very pleased with it..Version: 1.48.6

Perfect for classical music loversThis innovative app is a fantastic way to listen to great classical music. I love the mood settings, I highly recommend it for people who enjoy classical music, especially you sometimes find the radio stations a bit repetitive.Version: 1.17.3

Great but no sortingI love this site but they really need to get it together to organize what you download or the list for recordings. As of now everything is just put in sequence of time that you add it to your lists. If you have 100 pieces added Mozart could be number 5 or 23 or 75. You have to through all to find it. It shouldn’t be to hard to place in some alphabetical order..Version: 1.29.0

At last!!Finally the classical music service I have been searching for! Brilliant search engine and good quality streaming. All at a reasonable price. Look forward to future developments and trust the price will remain reasonable..Version: 1.21.1

Great sound. Even better recommendationsAs someone with pretty eclectic musical taste, I’ve struggled with other services’ musical recommendations. Too popular. Too obvious. Not with Idagio - sure, there’s a load of Mozart, but if you want to go deep into the weird and unknown, their curated playlists are excellent. One thing I’d love though; the ability to turn Opera off. I love instrumental music and nothing jars like an unexpected soprano..Version: 1.25.1

First Day and I am so happy to have found IdagioI just found IDAGIO- I’ve tried some other streaming services for classical music but each one was lacking in some way. IDAGIO looks like a great solution for classical music lovers. The iPhone app is easy to use right away. Plus it integrates into my Sonos system. I also just discovered that I could get it to stream to Sonos directly from the IDAGIO app itself. This is terrific, because the Sonos interface to Idagio is not as full featured- so I was looking for a very specific cello sonata. Found it on the app and I thought I would have to save it to my collection and then go to Sonos to play it. Happily I discovered that I could play it on my Sonos right there. This is a great integration. It’s only Day 1 but so far I have easily found music or performers I was looking for, and it is clearly designed with the classical music listener in mind. Thanks!!.Version: 1.21.5

IDAGIOA marvellous App. Since discovering it I use it everyday. Tremendously user friendly it makes classical music available as never before. Beautiful interface and very stylish..Version: 1.23.7

Une merveilleSuis abonnée à Idagio depuis un an et vais de découvertes en découvertes. C’est une vraie merveille! Merci pour ces riches et beaux moments de musique..Version: 1.39.1

Absolutely gloriousThe music app I’ve always wanted but didn’t know existed. Disappointed that other music apps were starting to push a political agenda, I decided to switch. I’m so glad I did..Version: 1.31.0

Suitably Impressed.Throughout the trial period, I have been suitably impressed by the range and quality of the music on this service. The application is intuitive and quite simple to navigate. Unfortunately, due to my inability to purchase a subscription, I shall not be subscribing to this service. I shall certainly endeavour to do so when I have secured sufficient funds. I highly recommend this to anyone interested in this genre and sub genres of music..Version: 1.48.6

Excellent sound and decent libraryI turned to Idagio mainly for access to lossless audio, and have enjoyed the ease of searching and browsing. The recording catalogue is decent, but there are strange gaps. For example, Gli Incogniti's latest recording of Haydn isn't there (Harmonia Mundi) even though their previous recordings are. Grace Davidson's latest ravishing new Dowland recording isn't there, even though her Vivaldi&Handel album from the same label (Signum) is..Version: 1.21.8

Wonderful musicI love the selection of music and am learning to use it well. I still find certain operations awkward— selecting something and not being sure it will download promptly, for example, and switching devices to play/-but was surprised and delighted when my iPhone and idagio found the Sonos in the home I was visiting and resounded throughout. My ultimate wish would be to be able to easily turn on the Bach Goldberg Variations when I cannot sleep-without having to turn on the lights and get my glasses..Version: 1.21.7

Great appGreat choice of recordings and excellent sound.Version: 1.28.1

RefreshingWhat a wonderful venue for discovering a vast amount of the world’s greatest music. The app is easy to use and the Radio is wonderful! I’ve discovered many new composers and pieces through IDAGIO. And when researching odd old Lotte Lenya singing Kurt Weil, and even ancient music, I find what I’m seeking! The way the site is presented opens doors to the young to explore fine music and makes it all fun. Bravo! After first joining IDAGIO would have complained about the price. Now that I see the scope of your library, I realize it is worth the money. Christa Wilm.Version: 1.49.3

Great experience well deserved 5 Star ratingI have been introduced to a lot of classical music. That I wouldn’t have been interested in. It has been a good experience. As for the quality of the lossless recording system… Amazing!.Version: 1.41.0

Great but…..Everything is great except a couple things. Please put an option for sorting oldest to newest or newest to oldest so I don’t have to take 10 minutes to scroll down the entire list. Because right now you have an option to list albums by publishing date. It only lists them from newest to oldest. I just would like an option for oldest to newest. So navigating the app is a little tedious. I’m sure I’m not the only one. I love the music selection and everything else. I tend to gravitate towards the older recordings so please fix this issue. Navigating the app is the only thing that needs work in my mind. I got tired of having to do that so I canceled it. Once this is fixed I will come back. Thanks.Version: 1.48.5

Great for niche performancesBut lacking in features. What I miss in streaming classical music are the program notes and CD booklets. I couldn’t find artist biographies either. It’s well catalogued, has good music selection, and can steam hifi, but I still feel like a dedicated classical app needs something more special if you’re going to target such a specific market. (Or maybe it’s a premium feature that I didn’t pay for?) Overall great app, I’m just a nerd who wants more info to read..Version: 1.34.1

Great music appVery nice theme used in app Relaxing musics, love it.Version: 1.21.1

Really good choice, soundI reaaly like Idagio fort the choice and sound quality. Great.Version: 1.35.1

THE BESTI’ve always wanted something like this! I love classical music, and this app lets you stream Classical, Romantic, and 20th Century music. This app has introduced me to many different pieces of music! Franz Liszt (my favorite composer) I thought he only wrote 6 Pieces containing the orchestra. Apparently he wrote a ton. Currently I am listening to one of his concertos right now. This app is great! It gives you all the best players. This is the greatest application to use to stream Classical music. For Classical music lovers! Download it it’s free high quality application..Version: 1.23.6

They listenedProps to the developers for listening when I complained (and unsubscribed) over the addition of an “autoplay” feature that played suggested music when an album or playlist was done. You can now turn this feature off. And I am back to being a subscriber to Idagio, which offers best-in-class music discovery, metadata and search, and audio quality for people who listen to classical music..Version: 1.23.1

GreatReally enjoying this app, particularly with the added Deutsche Grammofon catalogue. Seems every piece of music I hear at a concert or on the radio is here to enjoy at leisure. At the cost of less than one classical CD per month, it is good value (and no CD clutter!).Version: 1.18.5

Top of the class.Has gently led me to new composers and genres that sitting at home alone I would never have experienced. Adagio goes absolutely everywhere with me now. I only hope that this growth continues..Version: 1.33.1

Beautiful app, great musicGreat app. Beautifully designed, easy to use, elegant and understated. The range of music is great, dozens of recordings, lossless and high and low quality AAC formats. The listening difference is palpable. When you listen to MP3 versions and compare them to these it is a real pleasure. Highly recommended..Version: 1.19.1

Amazing for operaI left Apple Music because the way operas are listed is a nightmare. You have to wait 20 years for a song to scroll past to see who is singing what or even, frequently, which track is playing. Enter IDAGIO. Aaaahhh. Thank you for double spacing between tracks. Thank you for organizing the information in such a way that I don’t need to search to find absolutely basic background information. I am so relieved..Version: 1.46.2

Nearly perfectI adore this app. The sound quality, content, and app functionality is top notch. My one complaint is the lack of liner notes. My other fav streaming service is Qobuz because most albums have pdf’s of the album booklets which contain multitudes of important information, especially for classical albums. I didn’t think this was a big deal until I experienced it and realized the enhanced experience of being able to read more from performers, conductors, and historical information while listening to an album. If this were added, this app would be 5 stars for sure..Version: 1.21.6

NiceAMAZING!!!!.Version: 1.38.0

Awesome!Great work! Something I waited for a long time!.Version: 1.21.8

Everything I need in classical musicI do get very fed up with all the rubbish that is played on radio in the car and I found this oasis of classical music and I’m in heaven. I haven’t quite worked out the mechanisms yet but I’m sure it is going to be my GO TO for relaxing and invigorating music that I understand instead of the Catawhaling and rubbish that is classed as music today..Version: 1.23.2

Music ParadiseIDAGIO is a vast library of recordings from the past and up to the latest releases. Every week, there are new and stimulating suggestions. I have greatly enlarged my musical knowledge and experience by exploring this cornucopia of classical music. Exploring the collection is so easy with simple clicks and immediate responses. Serious music listeners cannot ignore this streaming service which was recommended to me by practising musicians who know the classical music world..Version: 1.36.0

Give it Dark Mode and it’s a 5I love IDAGIO. I can’t express enough how much I love the mood feature and how IDAGIO presents itself as something for those who have an inkling of interest in classical music. The selection is immense and I enjoy every bit of this app. The ui could seriously use some work. I understand that the dark mode trend is a bit over, but for this app, I seriously think it’s long overdue that this app got its own version of dark mode..Version: 1.37.1

What a pleasureI’m not a well educated person on the classical music stand point. Until I discovered IDAGIO, I relied on diverse radio stations but I felt it was more or less the same kind of music played over and over. IDAGIO opened all kinds of new doors, I love the format, the diversity, composers, periods, genres, interpreters. I love Emily’s suggestions, I love the mood selection when I just want to set up something quickly. It’s a fantastic APP for anybody who loves classical music. Great job, guys!.Version: 1.23.5

Don’t pay for concertsThe app is neat if you want easy access to a large directory of high-quality recordings of classical music. However the concert hall feature is broken. DON’T pay an extra on the subscription fee to watch concerts. On my iPad, half of them won’t play at all. This is unacceptable considering the amount charged..Version: 1.35.2

Almost a 5 for me, excellent overallI’m still exploring the app and will amend my review as needed. First my complaints than praises. I have two complaints right now. I would like the ability to sort my faved recordings and tracks by composer instead of alphabetically. Advancing a piece to a certain part will often play a loud buzzing sound as it tries to load the second I’ve moved the slider to. Likewise, the transitions from one movement to the next is often done without a gap, sometimes there is a gap with that buzzing sound. For praises, the selection on here is amazing and the way it’s organized is fantastic. I’ve been loving how I can explore things I would have never found or pieces I’ve been looking for but have not been easy to find on other services. I like that it shows other arrangements of pieces separately. Keep it up, fantastic overall..Version: 1.47.1

Great with SonosLove the selection of current and historical recordings. Always something new to explore and enjoy..Version: 1.34.5

Wonderful! This app is basically the only music streaming app that I use on a regular basis. This may sound odd, but it finally feels like someone made an app with me in mind. The mood wheel is great for picking a randomized playlist to go along with any activity, and searching for specific pieces is really straightforward and intuitive. I love it and have been recommending it to anyone else whom I think might feel the same. It really fills a gap in the market as it is quite difficult to find classical music on either Apple Music or Spotify. In other words, if you are a classical music lover, do not hesitate! The subscription is well worth the price and you won’t regret it!.Version: 1.24.1

Highly recommendedCannot recommend this highly enough. It has already occupied two five hour train journeys with a huge range of beautiful music. Have enjoyed great recordings of old favourites and discovered new gems..Version: 1.21.3

Music to my earsA broad selection of great pieces and performers, some fun features for mood-based selections, and excellent audio quality. This service is a classic..Version: 1.29.0

Great app for classical musicA good range of recordings but with some unfortunate omissions eg Rattle’s Mahler 2 with the CBSO which in my view is the best. Formatting on iPad needs improving (it’s designed for iPhone) but I’m told that will come. Well worth the subscription even with those minor grumbles!.Version: 1.18.5

BrilliantI love this app! Really excellent selections of music and the curated playlists and ‘moods’ you can select are fabulous. I have cancelled all my other music streaming subscriptions because this app has educated me and genuinely inspired me to listen to classical music, as someone who was a bit of a novice! The only suggestions I could make would for improvement would be a featured piece of music of the day, (maybe a bit like the article of the day on Wikipedia, which can just add a bit of interest and variety) and maybe a search function that allows you to get away with the occasional typo..Version: 1.18.4

Great appThis app helps me study and concentrate a lot! The mood option is particularly useful for finding appropriate music for what I am doing..Version: 1.27.2

J’adore.Version: 1.49.0

NotesNeed more info on artists please Used by to no love reading about the artist or orchestra and performance.Version: 1.44.1

Tout simplement excellent!Le rêve de l’audiophile passionné! Un catalogue déjà impressionnant qui grandit sans cesse, qualité de streaming FLAC, facilité d’utilisation, équipe compétente et dynamique!.Version: 1.34.1

Excellent curation. Everything classical fans dream of.I’ve been dedicated to classical music lifelong and consume massive amounts weekly. Prior to this I used general music services which were Ok. But IDAGIO has the power of discovery, both giving me incredible access to even obscure works but also excellent curation and the discovery of things I’ve never found but love. It has made this already quite broad classical fan even broader. I’ve recommended it to all my friends and become a massive fan of IDAGIO. I’m opening this app every day, all day. Btw, very responsive developer. I used to have three suggestions here but they fixed all of those things within a few months. It’s ridiculous. Very impressive..Version: 1.23.3

Please add repeat shuffle etc.I can’t find repeat or shuffle when I want to choose different playing modes....Version: 1.22.0

Love the music, love lossless, HATE the crashing, always always crashingI have had this app for some time now from the first day I heard of it, and to have lossless classical music blasting in my ears from my phone is beyond glorious. But ever since the newest iOS (and subsequent updates) went live it is rare for an album to play all the way through without crashing. Whether through cell, Wifi, or any other type of connection or if I have downloaded. The app still crashes while playing. 4 minutes into the first movement of a piece or 5 minutes left on the album. It is beyond frustrating. Any help would be appreciated. I LOVE IDagio but if I can't listen to the music I love or music I'm just discovering without it crashing, what's the point. I have an iPhone X.Version: 1.29.0

DisappointedUsing the app on Sonos is very difficult and does not give easy access to choose specific composers or orchestras or artists.Version: 1.43.1

Too many adsI’d agree you need subscription, but listening with too frequent ads like 30s ad every one or two pieces is a bad experience...Version: 1.44.1

Absence of gapless playback is almost a deal breakerGreat concept, I subscribe, but sometimes find myself going back to Google Play Music. Why: the gap in playback between tracks is a killer and can completely spoil the moment in transitions b/w movements..... Fixed with very helpful advice from Idagio - bought a Sonos Connect second hand on ebay - works flawlessly with an optical output into my DAC! Very responsive and helpful advice from Idagio..Version: 1.35.0

FinallyA streaming service that suits classical music. Easy to use, extensive catalogue, great filtering possibilities..Version: 1.23.6

Magic! The answer to a classical music lovers dream! High quality in all ways, from comparative performances to full length operas, what more could you ask for..Version: 1.18.2

Superb in many waysI came to IDAGIO after Apple Music’s gutting of Primephonic. I am thrilled with this app, especially the ‘mood’ feature. It’s made so much more beautiful music available I wouldn’t have discovered otherwise. What it lacks is Primephonic’s educational component. Their curated perspectives on music by era is missed. I also wish I could read the liner notes of recordings..Version: 1.48.2

Sonos Streaming Stopped? In general I love idagio and use it every day - BECAUSE it streams to my Sonos system. Suddenly today Sonos streaming would not work and a dialog popped up saying I have to reauthorize idagio with Sonos. I’ve done that twice now (apparently successfully since the Sonos app still shows the idagio service and idagio playback still works FROM the Sonos app) - but the idagio app just freezes every time I select to stream to Sonos. I’m putting this ‘ticket’ here because I see no place anywhere in either the idagio website or the idagio app to ask for help. Edit: I tested the Mac and Windows idagio apps and they are both streaming fine to Sonos. It’s the iOS and iPadOS apps that are failing (for me)..Version: 1.34.2

Incredible service with app that needs some workThe service is incredible. Bravo! A small issue with the application. For desktop and phone: we need a way to filter, search through and sort our own collection. HIGHLY IMPORTANT. I imagine all users paying for the service are classically inclined and therefore will have more saved in their collection than just a few, well known works. In other words, support for big libraries! (Another small note: album artwork needs to be adjusted to show smaller so that it is no distorted on phones with bigger screen like iPhone pro max).Version: 1.35.2

Easy to use for studyPerfect for focusing.Version: 1.47.1

Great quality and Intuitive interfaceThis is a great app for classical music lovers. The app interface is very intuitive and the auto selections based on mood do not disappoint. The interface is aesthetically pleasing-nicely done! I found the sound quality very good over cellular or wifi..Version: 1.34.2

Great appThis app is great with excellent sound quality and important features for classical lovers. The inclusion of album booklets with liner notes and librettos etc. is perfect, making it a true alternative to CDs. They need to fix the recent bug that makes the app stop randomly and if only they could add some missing labels, like Hyperion and Naive, it would be pretty much perfect..Version: 1.30.0

Amazing app, with great selection.High quality recordings, excellent search algorithm to find exactly the recording you want with great ease..Version: 1.34.2

Simply the best for streaming classical musicI have used several different music streaming services primarily for classical music and jazz. IDAGIO is easily the best at serving its genre, classical music of all styles and periods. The search capabilities are uniquely suited for classical music and the sound quality is superb. It also appears that IDAGIO has a fairer system for compensating the musicians and recording companies. I have never felt more enthusiastic about giving an app five stars..Version: 1.21.8

Love itThe quality of sound is worth every penny. As well, there’s albums on here that are impossible to find on other streaming services. And the playlists are amazing. Every issue that used to bother me, they’ve fixed very quickly!.Version: 1.29.0

Everyday a SurpriseIDAGIO is an app that delivers surprise gifts everyday. While providing you with your tried and true favourite composers, conductors, soloists, and pieces of music, IDAGIO also helps you discover music that you’d never have found on your own. I’ve especially discovered a great many treasures just from the ‘Pick a Mood’ feature. I am extremely impressed with this app..Version: 1.47.0

My Go-To AppI’ve been a lover of classical music all my life. I ascribe to Nietzsche’s notion that “[w]ithout music, life would be a mistake.” Unlike popular music, a classical piece can be recorded by a wide variety of orchestras and conductors, even, at times, with different instrumentation. In other words, no one size fits all. That is why I’m so pleased with IDAGIO. Its library seems to be limitless. I love that I can find every piece I want to hear on the app, performed by a laundry list of orchestras and conductors. Even some of the recordings I “cut my teeth on” back in the 50s are available here. Thank you, IDAGIO, for helping to sustain my love of music!.Version: 1.48.0

Needs more controlIdagio is a very good app. I appreciate the focus on classical music, especially the critically acclaimed albums portion. However, I primarily use the app at bedtime. Classical music soothes my mind and allows me to fall asleep quickly. Currently, idagio continues playing after my selected album is over, causing me to awaken many times throughout the night. I am sure I can make playlists, but I enjoy hearing new music at bedtime. There needs to be a control built in to fix this problem..Version: 1.31.0

Great app to explore and listen to classical musicThis app is awesome! I have been a fan of classical music for years and prior to using this app it was a little difficult to explore music by mood. Fortunately this app has a mood feature which you can use to select music based on happiness peacefulness, and so forth. The service also offers lossless audio quality depending on what membership you subscribe to. Needless to say this app is now my go to to listen to my favorite tracks!.Version: 1.42.2

EnjoyableGreat app easy to use, really enjoy that the ads aren’t blaring louder then the music and they’re soft like the classical music. Would definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoys classical and opera music..Version: 1.51.0

Additional FunctionI wish the works of composers can be sorted by production time..Version: 1.48.5

MrReally good collection of rare classical recordings...easy to use. I love the mood wheel...very cool.Version: 1.8.0

Love itPerfect.Version: 1.23.6

So-so app but amazing serviceIDAGIO is a *fantastic* service, but this app needs work — a lot if it. It’s stable, so it doesn’t crash, which reality matters. But the user interface is lacking, and the user experience is worse. For example, when I use it with a Sonos system, the IDAGIO app forgets that it’s playing music — so there's no way to pause / stop the music (I have to use Sonos), identity what's playing (same or, worse, Shazam?!), or even just change the volume (and the app doesn’t respond to the volume buttons on an iPhone, so you have to use the slider buried behind the AirPlay icon). The app’s screen is consumed by fairly static rows of offerings (do we *really* need it to recommend Bach or Vivaldi every time we open it?), instead of dynamic presentations of what you’ve listened to or might like. In fact, accessing what you’ve listened to / like / etc is consistently difficult, as if it were a design goal — it always takes too many steps, and the way things are presented is always disappointing). But IDAGIO is an amazing service, their app basically works, and I want to support them, so four stars. They could do SO MUCH to make this a genuinely transformative app. I hope they do..Version: 1.50.3

Playlists please!I love the app and the amount of music and recordings on it is absolutely amazing! However not having the ability to make your own playlists within the app is really disappointing. The addition of this feature would make it the perfect classical music listening platform..Version: 1.19.3

EssentialThis is the kind of app that allows you to set aside or even work through your internet anxiety because this app represents one of the best qualities of internets: the access to history and art and culture here in the form of that most intrinsic of human creations: beautiful music. This app is truly for anyone of any age living anywhere in the world to enjoy a vast collection of high quality music at its most pure and artistic. I love many forms of music, and there are many apps for curating your modern music collection, but this is something essential for all music lovers young and old to explore and experience the deep roots music has in the formation of humanity..Version: 1.28.0

Excellent curation and beautifully presentedHighly recommend.Version: 1.24.3

WonderfulWonderful repertoire of classical music. One comment : I Have tried the premium plan with no-loss music, and it was good but it was hard to tell which works were really great recordings (I had high quality headphones)..Version: 1.50.4

On Apple watchHey Developers, I'm pleased this has been taken into consideration. I remember when I asked about the apple watch. 5 stars it is..Version: 1.25.0

Amazing classical music appThis is simply the best ever classical music app built. Plus the customer support is amazing, and I’m sure more features will be added..Version: 1.21.1

Great butWhen I’m playing Idagio out of my phone, the Apple Watch Idagio app can not control it. This seems odd... I only have the media player on the watch for controls. When I try to change the mood on my watch it asks me to connect my earbuds and there is no option for on iPhone. This is really a simple thing..Version: 1.29.0

Primephonic orphan’sI came to IDAGIO when primephonic sold itself to Apple who may have a dedicated classical music app “next year “. The difference between the major streaming services is more about search, convenience and recommendations than the size of their collection. IDAGIO has a fine collection and good streaming quality but forming playlists is clumsy, usually it has to be done track by track instead of by album. Also, when browsing, it lacks Apple’s convenient option of “play next or play last”. This useful when you see something you like but don’t want to interrupt what is currently playing. It may be the best that is currently available but I hope it improves.Version: 1.39.1

Classical Lover’s Best FriendSo far I’m very satisfied with the service. The selection and playlists are great. The interface is also easy enough to navigate. The concerts are a nice differentiating touch compared to other services. I plan on exploring that more as the selection increases. Suggestion: One thing I’d like to see is a description when browsing by work similar to what some of the album booklet’s have..Version: 1.41.0

Superb streaming for classical music! The more I explore the app, the more impressed I am by all the ways IDAGIO lets me discover and enjoy my favorite music. All the curated playlists I have tried are excellent. The search features seem limitless. Even the “Mood” playlists, which I expected to be a bit corny, are surprisingly and consistently exactly right. This is not just a beautiful app; it’s thoughtfully and creatively arranged content. Really a pleasure to use!.Version: 1.23.4

Great, but needs fine-tuningExcellent selection.Version: 1.25.1

At last, someone who cares about digital classical musicIf you’ve felt like hurling itunes at the wall for its determined inability to give a fig for classical music, stop looking and download this wonderful app. Written by people who know you might want to search by composer or orchestra or soloist or that there’s more to the genre than the lumpen “classical”. I love this app, it has saved my musical life! A wonderful catalogue. A beautiful user experience. Cross laptop-iPhone synching. A very reasonable price. Thank you..Version: 1.25.0

Fantastic listeningSo refreshing to be able to hear such a vast library of music.Version: 1.29.0

IDAGIO is no longer a good appOver the last moth the app keeps stopping the current selection and appears to reboot. I used to rate it highly. No more.Version: 1.48.2

Fantastic! Why hasn’t this app happened before?! Got fed up of trawling through other mainstream music apps. Now I have everything I want to stream, easily accessible and fab quality too..Version: 1.20.2

Great app, navigation poor, more categories pleaseI would like to see more music categories: Operettas (Gilbert & Sullivan, Oklahoma, Westside Story, etc.) that would add a bit of variety. This is a wonderful app for classical music lovers. The selections are vast and outstanding. However, the menu system needs a complete overhaul to make this a 5-star app. IDAGIO is great to use in Apple Play where I like to use the “radio”. Set this up the way you like it BEFORE you start driving..Version: 1.30.1

Fantastic app to open the world of classical musicHave been a subscriber for a few weeks, and can’t praise IDAGIO enough for the thoughtful organization of this app, which follows the natural ways one thinks about classical repertoire - composers, works, albums, and artists. No more frustrating and fruitless “artist=Beethoven” types of searches as you suffer on other music streaming apps. Especially appreciate the ability to easily access and listen to multiple (often, ALL) recordings of a given work - if you are a music student, this app is for you! Thanks, IDAGIO, for your care and attention to the classical music listener experience!.Version: 1.24.2

Classical lovers dreamI love the variety of music on here. So many of the mainstream streamers have the obvious classical classics. But it’s so easy to discover works I haven’t heard before here.Version: 1.33.1

Perfect, But Missing One FeatureIDAGIO truly is the ultimate classical music lover’s service. No other music streaming service (including Primephonic) comes close to matching the catalogue and search capabilities that IDAGIO has to offer. The app interface feels familiar, is clean and easy to use. The only missing feature holding me back from five stars is the fact that you cannot automatically set a certain playback quality for WiFi and cellular streaming. For example, to tell the app to automatically use AAC 320 KBPS for cellular streaming and Lossless FLAC for WiFi. While the streaming quality can be switched manually, it is a bit of pain to have to do so every time I switch from WiFi to cellular data and vice-versa. This is one feature that Primephonic holds over IDAGIO. I hope to see this feature integrated in the (hopefully) near future, and then I will without hesitation award IDAGIO its fifth star..Version: 1.23.7

Absolutely AmazingIdagio is probably the greatest classical music streaming app. It has a wide selection of classical music that wade easily accessible they also have ways to discover new music. Through the section in the app called “moods” you can find a piece based on how you feel at the moment. Or on the homepage they have recommended or new music to listen too. It is a paid service however almost every music streaming service are paid subscriptions, at least the good ones anyways. It is also cheaper than Spotify or Apple Music, and if you like classical music this is way better. Definitely would recommend, 10/10. Thank you Idagio for this wonderful app keep up the great work!.Version: 1.26.4

Wonderful music, terrible appFirst, IDAGIO is without doubt the best source for streaming classical music. They gave an incredible library, and put together really wonderful playlists. But the app is terrible. I can never get more than half way through a playlist, or maybe a half hour into a piece, before it simply freezes up. Not only will it not finish the piece, but it freezes the app entirely, so that you can’t begin to listen to anything else. Pandora doesn’t have this problem. Why can’t IDAGIO fix this?.Version: 1.35.2

Absolutely stunning app! This has to be one of my favourite apps - beautifully designed, brilliant UI, and extremely intuitive. I also feel I am educating myself about classical music. Worth every penny!.Version: 1.20.2

Best app for common peopleI enjoyed this app quite a bit. I am not the kind of people who know classical music a lot or super professional. I usually just listen when I need some relaxation and don’t care much about listening an entire concert. This app fits best on my needs and the best part of the app is it allows you to choose music based on your moods. Usually I don’t really have some particular favorite composers, just want to have something playing to make my mind comfortable. Such choosing music based on moods options reduces my time on picking musics. Really enjoy this app!.Version: 1.21.2

ThankfulI’m so glad there are people out there who care about classical. Thankful this app exists and happy to support them with a subscription!.Version: 1.33.1

Generous programme, well worth itI might well subscribe if it had a timer ... for sleep (then 5 stars) Great way to source accessible classical music with minimal interruption..Version: 1.48.5

FabulousI love this app. All the best music in one place.Version: 1.48.6

WowEnfin une app qui permet d’écouter de la musique classique.Il y a même de la musique par humeur.C’est parfait 👌🏻.Version: 1.26.3

WonderfulIf you love classical music this is the streaming service for you!!!.Version: 1.23.5

Universes WithinThe UI is very much like entering a red velvet and hardwood Lobby of the virtual time and space museum of all emotion. Associating classical music with the MOODS they evoke in the listener is genius. As much as I hate to admit, I do not know the names of conductors — so being able to experience different composers is helpful... Might cancel Netflix and just stream strings and keep playin Chess With Friends. Give you marketing geniuses 5 stars too cuz that ad is how I discovered you, of course. As if ya didn’t know!.Version: 1.21.7

Orchestral film scores please!I know it’s not technically classical music, but there are so many modern film scores that are just as ingenious as many classical works. I wish more orchestral film scores were a part of the IDAGIO catalogue - hopefully sometime down the line they will get them. Scores from John Williams, Hans Zimmer, James Horner to name a few. There are a couple of their tracks in the catalogue but it’s far from being a full set of music for those artists. For now, it’s still an incredible app. I love the mood picker! Being able to glance through so many versions of a certain movement - it’s perfect for classical music lovers. Thanks for a great app!.Version: 1.39.1

Outstanding streaming service, BUTThe BUT is: if you decide to get a paid subscription, do it on the IDAGIO web site. If you do it on the App Store 1) you will not get credited for it (your account will say that you have a free subscription, not a paid subscription, and you won’t get the benefits that you paid for) and 2) You will need to have a sufficient balance in your Apple account. As usual, Apple requires you to lend them money, interest free, in order to make purchases. They have your credit card number; why can’t they charge it directly for purchases?.Version: 1.46.1

Grateful.Very grateful indeed for IDAGIO...love the way it profiles me and produces my personal taste...and yet gives me the freedom to choose my moods...fires me up at work...relaxes me at home...❤️.Version: 1.22.1

Great Classical Music appThis is probably the best classical music app I've found on the app store. Very good organisation into different composers, easy to find different recordings of a piece, good discovery system with moods. I'm loving the UI and the clean app design, just two little quirks that could be improved: 1. The play/pause button is sometimes unresponsive both inside the app and via control centre. It must somehow be related to this app because there are no issues with apple music 2. The list of composers could do with an alphabetical bar on the right hand side, like the one in the contacts app for example. Allows to find composers more efficiently All in all, great app for classical music, definitely beats the apple music app and with the above two points fixed, would be THE perfect app for classical music. It's free as well!!.Version: 1.2.0

Great app and catalogueI’ve only been using this a few days and still on my free trial. But I can for sure say I’ll be staying on! I decided to download and reignite my love for classical music again, and this app seemed like the best option to do that. The catalogue is great and the offline capabilities are also great. Some suggestions, which don’t really affect my rating, would be: - the ability to pick up where you left off when you close and reopen the app; - maybe the incorporation of a little ‘composer of the day’ or descriptive of the piece of music/composer - I’d also really like the capability to make my own playlists; I appreciate the ‘mood’ presets, but making my own would be just as fab Other than that, really enjoying so far! Thank you!.Version: 1.20.1

Brilliant, but pauses between tracksJust the low price for lossless audio makes Idagio exceptional. The metadata make it truly great, especially the ease of navigating multi-movement works. The two downsides I’ve found are pauses between streamed (not downloaded) tracks even during gapless works (e.g., Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring)—really off-putting—and the lack of any option to make Idagio stop after playing what I’ve selected rather than insisting I listen to recommended music—I wanted a moment to reflect on the Schubert sonata in silence. Please fix these, and I will wholeheartedly award 5 stars. Idagio can be better. It’s already the best..Version: 1.22.1

This is simply wonderful!!!I use classical to wake up over coffee and work during the day! Everything about this app is clean, professional and the music sounds wonderful! If I could make a request.. Can you include Echo support in the future? Thank you!!!!!.Version: 1.23.7

Improving almost daily! It’s clear they rushed the service out while it was missing many bare bone features (like knowing which track in a playlist is the one playing) but they’re commitment to improvement is clear as the updates are coming quickly. It is an extensive library but there are still some hiccups. For example, if you’re searching for a box set of performances which contains several volumes, the resulting searches don’t show the volumes together. From there it’s very difficult to play the full set without hunting each volume down and placing it a separate playlist. There’s also no way of telling what’s popular since the number of times a piece has been listened to is missing and there is no rating system. They’re very quick to respond to issues or questions and they follow up diligently. One feature which is unique and innovative is their ‘Mood’ selector which will provide you with an instant playlist/radio channel based upon an extensive choice of moods from Festive, Radiant & Joyful to Sad, Tragic, and Melancholic and everything in between! Despite some of the early hiccups I’m giving it four stars because it’s an important service for classical music lovers and it’s a great collection..Version: 1.31.0
