✓ Doesn’t workI can’t get it to hold a charge off the dock - even after 12 hours of charging on the dock and it says it is fully charged. Useless because it won’t connect to my iphone because it says the battery is too critically low to connect. ✓ No longer workingI had my BB-8 for two years, downloaded this app, and it was working fine. But, after a few days, my BB-8 no longer connects! I think it’s something to do with its antenna falling off, but I’m not sure. The BB-8 app works perfectly, but not this app! Please fix this! ✓ Updates no longer workingGreat app that we have been using successfully in schools. However, the last 2 updates (4.2.0 and 4.2.2) no longer let the Sphero2s connect with the iPad2s we have (iOS 9.3.5) despite the app/device compatibility notes saying they should! ✓ Nothing but disappointmentI have bought an iPad Pro and a Sphero Bolt mainly to teach Swift programming to my kids. I am not a professional programmer, but I know a little bit. I am sorry to report I had nothing but disappointments with my setup. First, the Sphero playgrounds wouldn’t connect to the Bolt, simply because the Bolt was too new and they hadn’t updated their code. Yes, I contacted support to no avail, all they would say was what I just wrote. After a months long wait, I could finally connect, and started trying Sphero Arcade 1, programming a Pong game with Sphero as a ball. I soon found out that one of the pages in the Playground wouldn’t open, and threw an error onscreen. I thought I would find a way to get around it, as it was an introductory page, probably with little code on it. Then I got to a point where we should use a built-in function to change the main led color. No help whatsoever on the syntax of the functions parameters: even searching online, after 40 min trying everything from standard names to rgba values, could get past the syntax error. How is a kid supposed to learn from that? Even with a dedicated parent trying to help? It’s not like I am ignorant in coding, I can get my way around. I don’t know Swift, but that’s what the playground is supposed to teach - it shouldn’t expect us to know it beforehand. About his specific app: It is a challenge to keep kids from just playing around in this app, and getting lost in everything else but coding. As a parent trying to teach his kids, I can say that after a year owning a Sphero Bolt, most of the time was spent using it as a remote control car..Version: 5.3.0

✓ I want my droid app backI purchased the R2D2 droid from this company and it worked great and was fun to show off. Now I can’t use my R2D2 because the app for it was removed. This app however still has “basic controls” which is SMALL fraction of what the old app used to do! ✓ Legacy ProductsWorst app from Sphero that I have seen yet. I used to use 2 different apps to control my BB8 droid they had cool features like boosting and buttons to press to make BB8 shake his head, nod, survey etc. Since they have removed the other apps and moved into the EDU they have not added anything to make the droid enjoyable to drive. I can now only select one speed and have a joystick for directions that is all. They need to bring the better features over to this one I no longer receive what I paid for..Version: 6.4.1

✓ Garbage CompanySphero is a garbage, scam company. Have 3 droids (BB-8, R2-D2 and BB-9E) and Lightning McQueen that no longer work because of this company just deciding to no longer make usable apps for them. Literally close to $1000 in items bought from this company that less than 10 years (5 in the case of Lightning McQueen) that just basically no longer usable. Go preach your education and building for the future somewhere else because the only thing you’ve educated me on is you only care about the money not the product. This app does work for the Star Wars bots but not as they were initially intended and it’s kind of a joke.. The Star Wars line is pretty much useless since they removed the original App.. ✓ Something wrong with my boltI used to love Sphero but I am very disappointed at it now. I got a Sphero bolt for Christmas a year ago,I didn't use it just much and it was very well taken care of but 3 months later it wouldn't charge . I contacted sphero customer support somebody told me a couple things that I could try but that didn't work. I got it for Christmas so I don't know where it was from I didn't have the box either. I was told that I could only get a replacement if it was from the Sphero itself. My bolt broke within the one year warranty. ✓ Won’t stay connectedFirst off, I love the Sphero and think it’s a great educational tool. However, I can’t leave this app more than a one star review simply because it’s basically unusable. After purchasing two Sphero Bolts for my kids for Christmas I am unable to maintain a reliable connection. I keep getting a “Bluetooth is disabled” error randomly with a connection usually not lasting more than about 2 minutes. Bluetooth is fine as it works with Apple Watch and speakers. Same problem with 2 different iPhones running iOS 14.3 and 2 different iPad Air 2’s running iPadOS 14.2. However, I do not get this problem when connecting to a MacBook Pro running Big Sur, so I suspect it is an iOS 14 problem. Contacted Sphero Support via webpage 10 days ago but no response as yet..Version: 6.0.1

✓ Quality Educator, but some issuesThis app is a very useful tool for people looking to learn how to code. This is a fun way to see what level you are at with coding using a robot. The app might take a second to get used to, but if you are someone who’s experienced with coding, you can zip through that in no time. The app may be free to install on your phone, but the Sphero robots are not cheap, so it wouldn’t be worth it for the casual person to try something like this out. There are some strange bugs with the Sphero connection as I had issues with connecting the robot. When you are asked to double tap your Sphero to wake it, it took quite a few taps for it to work. When selecting a video, the player briefly launches with a black screen and then the app closes the player and reverts back to previous screen. This is happening on both my iPhone and iPad. I was scrolling through the programs people posted and saw something very very disturbingly creepy (I can’t unsee it now) that somebody decided to use as the pic they posted the program with. Kids my age shouldn’t have to see what I saw, that was too much for me to handle. If there is already a way to block people, I probably haven’t been looking hard enough, lol 😂 Also, I think that we should be able to do more stuff besides make programs if you don’t have a public account. It would be nice if there was a little guide that told you what each block does—e.g. explain how they work. I’m a first time programmer so I don’t know what “create a variable” and “true && true” means. Thx! Overall this is pretty fun. But since I don’t know what most of the blocks do—except for “move” and “speak”, ha ha—it’s gotten hard to create most programs. ✓ Sphero doesn’t care anymoreI have Ollie. I went to re-download the app. I found out that this is the new app. It is so disappointing that they removed half of the features that I loved, like the trick pad and the easy way to edit different lighting patterns, as well as the ease of the app; you just had to open the app, connect, and you were ready to go. With this new app, you have to sign up, enter a password, and find your specific device, then realize they want to have the features. You can really tell that Sphero doesn’t care about their stuff anymore..Version: 6.5.0
✓ Connection issuesI had a bb8 when they came out in 2015 and it was great and I just found it again recently, basically mint, and I figured out that the original app no longer exists. So I found out that this app is compatible but every time I try to connect to it, it says connecting but does it for ages or the app will freeze and it never does connect.
