✓ Amazing!There are so many story arcs to choose from which you get 5 free love passes a day to read. ( Still playing 3 years later!) The main story arcs are enriched by special events which develop the characters and there are battle events to win free hearts & pearls. All this keeps the game fresh and exciting to play. The stories themselves are interesting and beautifully illustrated. The best thing is you don’t have to pay to read the stories at all unless you want to binge read and then I think you lose out on savouring the story if that makes sense! ✓ I like this game but...I really do like this game however, I wasn’t able to log on for about a month (I have done this before and it was okay) or so due to me being busy. However, when I was finally able to log back in, the app seemed to like restart. It started again as if I had just downloaded the game meaning that my data on the app was gone. I then decided to click the button transfer data but it just kicked me right out of the game. I did this for about 3 more tries. Then I decided to click play now. Once I did that, the app said transfer a success. But once again right after, I was kicked out. I have tried to enter the app 3 more times but each time it doesn’t get past the /_\ ATTENTION /_\ page. Please fix this..Version: 2.0

You can do everything for free, but some things take more effort than others so paying is an option as well. Worth it if you plan to invest time. • You'll probably spend some money on this game if you don't want to play for a long time. Being as the basic mechanic is you get 5 (free) "Love Passes" everyday, which only lets you read half an episode. There's like 12 episodes, plus an ending and then an epilogue . • In-app purchases are too expensive for what you're getting, imo. •Stories are very well thought-out and portrayed. ✓ DA BEST GAME!!Look so I’ve played a lot and I mean A LOT of otome games in my life. And this one is by far the best. The stories are absolutely amazing so far I’ve complete Oda Nobunaga, Date Masamune and just recently finished Takeda Shingen’s route. To be honest I was crying my eyes out at the end of Shingen’s route. I don’t have any issues story ticket wise, u just have to wait till 9pm for them to be replenished. Also the checkpoints are absolutely fine their quite easy to complete and there’s not many at all. The game is 100% free as in ur not forced to buy any routes or items. Unless if u chose to buy items of course. I HIGHLY recommended this game!.Version: 2.6

I’ve had my fair share of okay games, some that kind of go all over the place, and some have been just awful. I’ve been through two full routes in this game so far ( Inuchiyo first, and finished Shingen this morning). With other games I play a couple routes and then get bored because I can’t connect with anyone else. So far, even in event stories, I have been 100% hooked with every character I’ve witnessed. Characters that you meet in the middle of a route hook you in and have you saying, “I’m taking his route next! Oh wait, maybe I’ll take his route next... or maybe his...” Highly recommend this otome. ✓ This game is by far my favorite Otome GameAbsolutely amazing! Everything about this game is well developed. From the art and CG's, the characters backstories, their individual personalities, their storylines and also the fact that the MC acts differently according to whose route you choose to play. The story events are both fun and exciting and the fashion lotteries always have clothing that are gorgeous and well designed. ✓ The characters really make itEach of the characters is so unique, with interesting storylines and different relationship dynamics. I confess, it's really hard to pick favorites when there's so much variety and material to explore with each one. Though, if I had to be honest, I prefer the Event stories to the main stories in most cases. This latest event (which is focused around supernatural elements) has been especially good, with even my less-liked choices being great reads. Gameplay-wise: you can honestly play the game without ever spending a dime, provided you're both patient and play your cards right. There's plenty of opportunity to earn Pearls and Coins, and there's always new fashion options, so plenty of variety too. One downside: the MC in certain paths is a bit tiresome, partially because her personality honestly just does not mesh well with certain guys (which is why, despite my personal fondness for Shingen and Toshiie, I really don't recommend their Main routes). All in all, though, definitely a good time..Version: 1.8
✓ Wonderful game!!By far one of the best games I've ever played on an iPhone. This game is always entertaining and I love the constant events! The writing is incredible, far better than any other otome game I've played, and the characters are all super unique and have deep, well constructed personalities. I love how you also get to learn about history through playing this game. The outfits, makeup, and hair are so cute, and I love seeing them on my sengoku princess ^^ The only thing keeping this game from a perfect score is the uselessness of coins. They're not really useless obviously, but I have almost 200,000 right now and I haven't even been playing for very long! You can use them for castle lotteries, in the store, and during events, but besides that, you don't get to use them very often. The opposite is true for pearls: you don't earn them very quickly, and they are far more precious. It would be wonderful if you could convert coins to pearls, such as 20,000 coins equals one pearl. I like it that sometimes you put supporting characters in the spotlight. I like the event stories also and the battles that you put out. My only problem would be, of course, the pearls. ✓ Too much for my poor heartI just finished nobunagas divine ending and let me tell u.... It’s SO hard to get me to like someone, irl and fictional characters alike, but in every way nobunaga is my literal type it’s not okay. He’s not perfect by any means and his character has such humane traits and that’s what makes him so amazing. Anyways, u know that feeling when ur finishing the best show and u wanna cry cuz of the pain in ur chest cuz it’s so good u don’t want it to end? THAT he hits SO GOOD I CANT and I wanna start another route now but the emotional wounds of vulnerability are too fresh. Anyways, nobunaga aside since men and personalities are subjective, I really like this game for a number of reasons; - firstly, the flow. The flow is relatively slow paced so it’s not running into things at all, nor does it go so slow it’s anticlimactic, and it doesn’t imply romance from the get go (which I think is super important for character and relationship development). The story goes at a realistic pace and the relationship between the characters is done well, which leads me to my second point - the relationship is realistic. Again, this is my preference and it’s ok to disagree, but in shoujo anime (assuming u watch anime), I really can’t take most of it seriously. The feelings people have are completely unrealistic, fast and dramatic that it completely ruins the plot not matter how good (generally). In this game there’s nothing dramatic or exaggerated, nor have I noticed dramatic hate between or towards another character for no apparent reason. - there’s multiple characters and stories to choose from. Though it’s kind of a given that you get a choice, I just finished my first story (out of 12 characters to choose from i think I could be wrong), and I got this game about a month ago I wanna say. This gives u so much variety in characters, plots and relationship flow which I appreciate. My only complaint about this app is that u get 5 love passes a day (which is a chapter ticket) which is fine, I played it completely for free and got the best ending so I’m not entitled to complaining, however sometimes I was able to finish a chapter in a minute, which wasn’t worth a whole pass. It just felt kind of anticlimactic to finish my daily portion of the story in a total of five minutes, but that was only sometimes. So either give an extra pass or make the chapters a bit longer. But overall, definitely would recommend, I also absolutely LOVE that it’s not pay to win, yeah the wait can get tedious, but that’s the least of my concerns. Love 365 (another otome game by the same company) isn’t pay to win, but u can’t get good endings unless u pay, and same goes for many other games, and that’s why I love this one because neither of those are issues. I hope I didn’t ramble too much I just really love this app. It’s free, download it, if you don’t like it it’s fine, u can just delete it, u have nothing to lose..Version: 3.4

Of course there are historical inaccuracies, but—my goodness—this game got me interested in several historical figures I would never have given a second glance ! This game does an awesome job at giving a thorough tutorial that’s easy to follow for newbies. The only complaint I have is that the stories are either “good” or “so great I have to spend all my money now”. Voltage owns a good deal of my paycheck due to how addictive this game is. I’ve had to seriously pace myself to avoid throwing money at this game . My advice for newbies is to only pay for pearls, not for love passes, because you will eventually need skill points to progress in the story and if you’re just using love passes you’ll get stuck having to do all the cooking you should have done earlier 😂. My only real complaint is that I only started playing the game about a month ago and so I missed out on all of the previous event stories and their epilogues and there's no way for me to get them now. Can’t it all be like everyone (all the love interests) gets an equal chance altogether and as it progresses, your choices chooses who u be with? And what I mean by all this, is that like the characters can all be in the main story ( like how the prologues start) and the other characters are aware that they are love rivals (trying to gain your attention). So to some it up, the game will basically be like an anime show but except that you get the choice to decide what to say or do ( like if the love interest insists on going sightseeing, and the other love interest insists on eating, it’s up to u to choose)..Version: 3.0

✓ Sweet and AddictiveI didn’t think I was into otome style games, but gave this one a try and absolutely fell in love with it. It is quite relaxing after a long day. Some of the characters are adorable, some creepy and some spicy. The characters also have a good deal of depth and that was nice to see. Plus you get to learn a bit about Japanese history! For those of us who already know a little, it is fun to make comparisons between the story and actual history. The music is soothing and there is always something to do. Levelling skills, castle decorating, special events, tea party are a few examples. You can also interact with other players if you choose to. My only critique is that Samurai Love Ballad is an addictive game, and that can be a problem because pearls and love passes are expensive. It is quite difficult to get energy for skill upgrades and story completions often give you one pearl. So, spend 16 and maybe get 3 back. But, if you have the funds or don’t mind long waits then it isn’t an issue. Overall: Fun and enjoyable!.Version: 4.4

✓ I didn't come here just for the bishis!I have been hooked ever since I saw this game advertised on Facebook. I enjoy Sengakou Japan and Japanese history. I have read most of the Divine paths except for Hideyoshi and Nobunaga. It's different to see the feared Oda Nobunaga as a romantic lead but you have your pick of guys hear! The event stories give you more depth into each prospective live interest. The MC is one you can easily support and relate to and looks cute with any of the samurai trying to romance her. Fangirling aside, expect to spend a good amount of money on this game. I am not going to lie the need for pearls is the down side to this game, they are needed for almost everything. Still an enjoyable game none the less. If you want to know my favorites are Kujuro, Masamune, Mistihide, Shigen, Kenshin, and I can't wait to get to know Hideyoshi...definitely can understand if you can't choose a favorite!.Version: 1.8

I mean I get it, the need to make money somehow and it is possible to play the game to the fullest without paying for pearls, but I wish there was a coins to pearls function. Like in Mystic Messenger there are hourglasses (pearls) and hearts (coins) and every 100 hearts could be exchanged for one hourglass. ✓ AmazedI just finished the Divine Destiny's ending for Uesugi Kenshin, and I'm so pleased with the story I felt compelled to write about my complete satisfaction with this otome game. Just to get this out of the way, first, rarely would you need to pay real money to play this game, as the currency you would need to pay for will be occasionally given to you for free as prizes. Take me as an example, I hadn't spent any real money for this game (not that I would for any game, to be honest)! Second, the graphics, characters, and storyline, although I've only played 2 so far, exceeded beyond my expectations, but as this game is created by Voltage, I'm not entirely surprised. I just.... I'm so happy with Kenshin's route, I just want to replay his and find out what the Noble Fates ending is like. In short, this game is outstanding, superb, and quite amazing. There are ways to earn in game money, if someone says you need money to play this they just don’t know how to play, also they are always doing battle events and story events, they don’t let you sit idle without anything to do and I love that. Voltage puts a lot of love into their Party Games. While it takes time to get through things completely free, it is very doable. It just takes a little patience and willingness to save stuff ans whatnot. All around great game that I adore. When I was telling a friend about it and showing off the character I went with first -- the Lord of Hell, Oda Nobunaga himself -- my words were "He may be a son of a b!$&@, but he's my son of a b!$&@." ✓ My favorite OtomeAfter I recently broke my leg, I started looking for entertainment on my phone and now I'm absolutely addicted to these games. That being said, this has been my favorite one by far for a few reasons. Firstly, the writing in this game is impeccable. The biggest thing that ruins one of these games for me is poor translation, which can make them impossible to be understood in some cases; however, that isn't a problem with this one at all! I can't even remember finding a typo. Additionally, the setting is marvelous. Sure, I'm a sucker for feudal Japan, but it's so much more than that. The role your character plays and how she interacts with the lords is fascinating to me. They also made it pretty clear that historical accuracy was important to them, making even the side stories entertaining. Lastly, the in-game currencies aren't impossible to keep up with. I've played some of these where it was obvious that they wanted you to spend money on practically every aspect of the game, just to be able to progress; yet in this game they made it enticing to spend some here and there if you care about a story, but otherwise they are completely fine with patient readers too. Ultimately this is the best Otome game I've played to date and I'm really looking forward to enjoying each and every samurai lord. I hope I have convinced you to join me!.Version: 1.8
✓ Some thoughts.I love the game, the story feels well written and each character is unique in their own way. That part I have not one issue with. The only thing I wish was available was an option to convert coins into pearls. Even if it was 5,000 coins gets you one pearl I think that would very fair especially when considering the fact that pearls are used in nearly every in game feature. You need three pearls to play the lotteries. You need one pearl each time you need to expand closet/ storage space. You need countless pearls if you want to complete the love route of every characters story... and yet pearls are incredibly hard to come across in game without spending money. That being said I do love the game and I wouldn't mind spending SOME money on it, however I don't have the money to spend and pearls cost a lot in game for what you get. So I only hope that in the future we could see a coin to pearl converter, as I think this would really appeal to all players, not just myself..Version: 1.8
