Knowledge is betterGood site. I am able to see letters in my box and packages delivered or in transit. Is it perfect? No. Is it better than being completely in dark? For me it is. Some packages do not arrive in the projected time but some packages may be delayed bc of human error or the magic fairy that steals one or two for a day. I have a post office box rather than home delivery as I live in a rural area and we have no home mail boxes. I have to drive up to the post office to get my mail. Being able to track my packages and other important mail pieces is invaluable to me as I have a disability and would rather avoid driving to check my mail, if possible. With informed delivery I am saved a trip and know what is delivered or is delayed. Perfect? No. Better for me? Undoubtedly..Version: 2.7.1

Pretty coolI think I saw this advertised on Facebook. Or maybe a Facebook friend posted about it. I searched it out in the App Store. Signed up for it. It took about 5 days before I got my first notice of arriving mail. I love it. It works beautifully. Every morning about 8am I get an email with pictures of each individual piece of mail (even junk mail and adverts) that will be delivered that day. I have not had any packages delivered so I can’t tell you the process of how that works. I assume basically the same way..Version: 2.2

Just what I’ve been waiting for!Was waiting in line at my local post office when I saw the advertisement for Informed Delivery. I couldn’t believe it... I’ve always wanted to know what snail mail was coming and with this app, I finally know plus the added bonus of tracking packages. I was notified via this app that a package I was expecting, label was created. This info came way before the shipper notified me with the tracking number. Awesome sauce! This is a great little app and does what it says and the signup process was pretty easy and straightforward. There’s also an option within the app to notify the post office is you did not receive a piece of mail they indicated was coming to you. Thank you Postal Service for a great app. I’ve only been using this app for less than a week and my mail has been on point with what “ID” said was coming. I highly recommend that everyone get this app. Some have written reviews regarding trouble or errors with this app and I hope their issues have been or are in the process of being resolved; with this in mind, I still highly recommend this app because simply knowing what is coming offers a piece of mind when you expecting important mail..Version: 2.3

The reviews are misleadingThe reviews are horribly misleading, the reviews are on the quality of the USPS and not the app itself. First the security questions that are needed to verify you so you are the owner of the mailbox and not seeing your exes mail are driven by a third party that is used by many company’s because said company’s shouldn’t know you. I get questions that I can’t sometimes answer but if there is not a lot of data on you the questions are harder ! Second, NOT every single piece can be scanned, it’s clearly told to you everyday. You should still check your mail! Third, the app doesn’t drive the service. Fourth, If you have issues please call customer service it’s an issue with your address and you ! I’ve been using the service and app and the website version for awhile , it works fine . It’s not how I check my mail but it’s nice to know some things. Most issues are surrounding the service itself and lack of understanding..Version: 2.4

Great app if dont excpect too muchGreat for basic info from your post office, Informed Delivery! Find out whats is expected to be delivered in your mailbox for the current day, with a pic of each mail piece before it gets there. So if you wait for a payroll check every week or similar that keeps you waiting on the carrier...this is your simple answer!! Very useful n helpful for thr advance notice, by email, through app or by text i believe as well with opt out/in choices for your needs. Registration was easy for myself (done at 2 different addresses) after move n both no issues. Sometimes app itself crashes upon opening or in middle of session but not excessivently...at all!!! Just reopen it, its technology it happens... Oh ya and dont forget The USPS is also a government branch which as of late many government braches are suffering in their reputation. Although i must say where im at all my interactions with carriers etc are pleasant. The retail store post offices could use a bump in positivity...oh n the 800 # call in just is dire in all areas of their CSR. Lastly, as i stated this app is quite good for consistant heads up daily 4 basic info from your local post offices on the activity of the day for our convenience. Hope this helps clarify any other reviews if was needed. Thanks!!!.Version: 2.2

Great AppI love this app. It is so nice knowing what is coming before it arrives. The only thing I would change is saying “check back tomorrow” even when mail has not been uploaded for the day. The days I am not getting mail I don’t know if I’m truly not getting mail, or if the mail just hasn’t been scanned for the day. It would be nice if the app would tell you to check back later if the mail had not been scanned for the day, and check back tomorrow if the mail has been scanned for the day and there is no mail arriving..Version: 2.7.1

Great way to verify USPS deliveriesIt’s great to see images of my mail to double check that everything arrived OK and to get advanced notice about what’s on its way. My existing USPS online account “just worked” and I had no trouble using it to sign in to this app. The low star ratings seem to be primarily about the account authentication process instead of the app. IMHO, authentication must be rigorous and block mailbox thieves! The USPS’ automated sorting equipment has been imaging mail for decades and so it’s nice that they’re now sharing those images with their customers. Thank you Postmaster General!.Version: 2.3

Have ID FOR > one year. LOVE IT!I’ve had Informed Delivery for over a year now and love it. The email delivery works great so now I’m getting the app. Don’t believe all the negative reviews. I truly believe the writers expect to much. I never had a glitch until yesterday. I did not get an ID email yesterday or today. Figure the USPS computers are having a problem and it will be fixed quickly. People get so unnecessarily upset when anything goes a little haywire in their life and jump quickly to post angry reviews. I’ve had NO PROBLEMS in the last full year that I’ve had the service. I even caught a temporary mailman lying about package delivery to my home. Said I was not home so he left note on my door. That was a lie. We were both home all day and the front door was open. My four dogs would fave gone crazy if the mail truck pulled up. Turned out that he was a new employee and didn’t deliver to our whole street that day. THIS WAS NOT THE FAULT OF THE INFORMED DELIVERY SERVICE. But the service is responsible for catching the guy in a lie. Lolol. I love this service!.Version: 2.5

NOW I CAN RELAX!!!I don’t like going up and down my front steps because of my back problem, so I called my daughter and asked her would she check my mail box once she gets home and she said that it was only junk mail, so I’m like how you know that when the mail lady just pulled away from the box. She said because she can see what’s there thru Informed Mail. After she explained it to me, I Immediately went to my phone to enroll so I can see it too and that way I won’t be so anxious seeing when my packages or mail coming!! She said that it works for her every time!!!! Thank God for USPS INFORMED MAIL!!.Version: 2.6.1

Good start. Now...Good start with app. Now take it to the next level and think like a business and not a govt agency. No offense. Make my life easier and I’ll pay a fee. 90% of the snail mail everyone gets is trash. Scan it, email the scan to me, let me mark the ones that I want trashed, you destroy the trash and only deliver what I want to see. And do so two days per week, not daily. You’ll save a ton on delivery costs, I’ll only get what I want to see, and you can monetize the service and charge me a monthly fee for sorting my mail for me. Win-win for both of us..Version: 2.4

Informed???I've tried and tried to get this to work. It won't respond to any actions except changing password. It won't generate a SMS to my phone for account recovery. After selecting opt in options there is not submit button. My UPS works great, I get my notifications via SMS. ##update. Well everything worked great for a few months and here we are again can’t even get the app to load. Guess I’ll try deleting it and reload. ###update. Again everything was working and today it asked me to sign in and I got an error when it was going to text me. I can go to web site and everything works fine there. 3 hours later everything working fine.Version: 2.3

4 StarsThis is a great app for tracking mail and packages. However, if you don’t like being bombarded with constant text messages (and I do not.) I would suggest having “all” alerts to come via email. After installing the app, I set my notifications preferences. The borage of text that followed, led me to go in and change where I wanted to be notified. Even then, the notifications I requested to be sent to my email were still coming text messages on my phone. Just this morning I went into the app (yet again) and changed notifications settings for ALL to be sent via email. 10 minutes ago...I get a friggin TEXT notification! Ugh.Version: 2.4

Great at daily mail informationIf you want to know what's being delivered by USPS, this is a pretty great app. I haven't had the sign out problems that others mentioned. It stay signed in on both my iPad and my iPhone. I can't speak to the notification option. I did sign up for it and within a few days received an email with images of my daily mail. That was another email I could do without, so I turned it off. I found out I open it daily in the morning so I have an idea what is coming in the mail. For that function, it seems to work well. It also seems to show package delivery as well, though no image that I could see..Version: 2.1.1

Love this app!I love this app and being able to see when my mail is arriving. I’ve had a couple of times when my mail person has delivered an important letter to someone else’s mailbox and I’ve been able to track it down. It’s scary to think how often this has happened without me knowing about it before I had this app. The one suggestion that I would make that in my mind would make it a five star app is if you could delete the delivered packages easier. It seems like you have to go through a lot to remove them from your “watched list”..Version: 2.4

Works like a charmUSPS may have been behind the curve compared to private delivery services in the past but they are catching up. This app is a great example. The registration process is easy thorough and you are ready to go within minutes. Go USPS. The name needs to be changed. Why would you call your app Informed when you have the most recognized brand name in the world USPS, USPS Delivery, USPS Postman, USPSvMail so many better names rather than informed. Searching App Store i was not sure if this is the real app. Change the name. PS. I saw a review complaining about verification process, my experience was not the same. One try and my info was verified..Version: 2.1.1

Return to SenderI like the idea that I can preview inbound mail and packages, as well as note that I didn’t receive a letter. However, for mail that does not belong to a household member, I’d like to have the option to indicate that mail should be returned to sender or the person to whom the letter is addressed does not live at this address. Another feedback would also be features such as: Estimated time of postal delivery (fight against mail/package thieves) and notification of reasons as to why mail expected deliveries were not completed (i.e., Walkthrough gate was locked at the [time period of attempted delivery])..Version: 2.3

Better than I expectedAfter reading all of the bad reviews, I almost decided not worth the trouble. Though I really liked the idea of being able to see what was going to be delivered in the days mail. So I decided to give it a try anyway. It’s not the easiest app to sign up for, seems they could have made it a bit more user friendly. That’s the reason for the four stars. Once I signed up for an account.. I was pleasantly surprised. The app does do exactly what what it says it’ll do. I could see what was going to be delivered in todays mail. Just what I needed.. now I can be home when I know there’s a piece of sensitive mail being delivered. Great app!.Version: 2.5

It does what it’s supposed to...I’m actually not quite sure why this app has such a low rating and I’m not about to read everyone else’s long, drawn out reviews. The app does EXACTLY what it says it’s supposed to do. My only complaint is that the app doesn’t offer Push Notifications or Touch ID and/or Face ID support. Beyond that, at times the post office can get mail deliveries wrong. They’re not perfect. Sometimes the service doesn’t have an image available or it misses a piece entirely. That doesn’t bother me that much (since before Informed Delivery you didn’t know until it made it to your mailbox). The app is simply a viewer of whatever gets loaded to the informed delivery service itself. If the app doesn’t show you that you have mail coming, then it won’t show up on the website either. You can’t expect MORE from an app than what it’s supposed to deliver. Five stars from me..Version: 2.4

I have no problems at allI’m not sure why so many people have had problems with the app and given it a poor review (it’s quite unfortunate), but I have yet to have any problems with it really. Occasionally it loads a little bit slow, but that’s it. I like seeing my mail pieces scanned in so I don’t have to get up right away to check the mailbox to see what came, and I know ahead of time if something important is there. I wish a little more information was provided about packages (like how UPS gives package weight) because sometimes I don’t recognise the company it shipped from and would like some sort of clue as to which package I’m looking at. All in all it’s pretty much what I want out of this sort of app. :-).Version: 2.3

Download App After Establishing AccountI downloaded the app after establishing my account and had the app authenticated and running properly in 13 seconds flat on the iPad version. And I’m slow compared to my kids. Not sure what the previous complaints were specifically about but they seem to have been eliminated. The only request I have is for SMS notification instead of email. Or perhaps in addition to email. Thanks USPS. We appreciate the effort to keep up with the tech world! Now if you could just install webcams in our P.O. boxes... that would really be great. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been notified that the mail is in at 10:15 am, just to make the 20 minute drive to the Post Office, just to find the box empty - even at 1:30 in the afternoon. A waste of time and gas for sure so why trigger the app notification? Happens at least once a week. Worse in December now that the Holidays are approaching..Version: 2.1.1

Works fine for meI work for the postal service and I signed up for this. Before the app came available, every morning I would get an email plus go to the website and log in and it says the same thing. I see what I’m getting everyday and that’s what I get. Now when it says it doesn’t have an image for it that means it wasn’t ran through the automated machine or it’s a catalog or magazine. Every app has its ups and down. I’m not giving this a 5 star because I work there I give a 5 star because it works for me..Version: 2.4

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this app!I downloaded this app, in order to have a certified letter redelivered, little did I know, how awesome it turned out to be. My mailbox is down the street from my house, to where I can not even see the mailboxes! This app informs me, via pictures even, of the mail I will be receiving, that day, or had earlier that week and or any packages that might be delivered, later in the week!! It gives me an option to immediately notify the USPS, if said items were NOT actually delivered,...,or are now missing?! My mail carrier, Brenda, is awesome and is always on top of any issues myself and or fellow neighbors may encounter. I’m telling everyone I know, to download this app, both my daughters have done so already, one lives in NYC and her experiences w the USPS has not been joyful, lots of “stolen?” items, from her apartment complex. This app will allow her to see if items are due to arrive and or were “actually” delivered!.Version: 2.5

Need an opt-in confirmationThe postal service should set up an opt-in email when someone signs up with the service. I have the service and then started getting emails from the postal service for someone else’s mail. The person signed up with an email address similar to one of mine. Same user name, different domain, but still a valid address. So I started getting his notifications. An opt-in email would have allowed me to say “no I’d didn’t sign up for this service on this email” and the problem would’ve been solved..Version: 2.2

Excellent App & ServiceThe Informed Delivery Service is absolutely awesome! I've had it for years and can state that there really isn't any other service offered by a private company that can really compare, especially when you consider the cost is free. The app always works great and I've never had a single issue. The process to check on my mail, packages, and even order stamps is so simple and intuitive. Thank you USPS for providing a quality app and excellent service!.Version: 2.7.1

Better Than NothingInformed Delivery is just a soft snapshot at what to expect in your mailbox. It’s nice having an idea, even if it’s not 100% accurate. The reality is millions of pieces of mail go out weekly and not every piece will get scanned and uploaded. But, knowing when I do have something coming is a welcomed bit of info. Think of this service (and app) as reading the back cover of a book... you get the idea, but not all the details. I’m actually quite impressed with USPS taking steps to join us in 2020..Version: 2.6.1
