Indego Bike Share for Negative User Reviews

2 start for quick2 stars for quick customer service The app is confusing and frustrating Thanks for ruining our afternoon.Version: 2.2

Impossible to cancel in appThis app has billed me 3x after I cancelled. I cannot remove the credit card. I have reported for fraud. Awful!.Version: 2.4.1

App ReviewFirst of all, I would like to say that using this service is a great way to get around the city. Though I use this service everyday, it can be unreliable because stations are often ‘unavailable’ and many times the bikes have maintenance issues that make riding difficult. Overall, I will continue to use this service but if another business like this came to Philly, I would absolutely try that. Not to mention, the customer service reps are a hit or miss in my experience. I’ve dealt with very rude agents who have handled issues poorly when I’ve called about station or bike related issues..Version: 2.2.7

StrandedAs much as I appreciate the convenience of these bikes, I don’t appreciate being stranded miles away from my home and being forced to spend more money on the subway or on an uber to get home, only because Indego doesn’t provide 24/7 support, or because the app goes down. This has happened multiple times and with zero effort on their behalf to make things right. I have never been offered any monetary refund and yet time and time again I am left miles away from home only to be left once again paying for an alternate route home. It’s getting old..Version: 2.0.1

PriceUsed to be $2-3 for 30 minute ride when they started 7 years or so ago. Now $15 for 24 hours. That’s the lowest option. It doesn’t make sense when Uber costs the same. I’d rather buy a online bike for $100, store it outside 7 times, and risk it getting stolen. Than pay $15 to rent a crappy bike. I understand they want more bikes for membership ppl, and they make money off subscription model. But I personally would rent a bike for $4-30 minutes..Version: 3.0.1

Attitude and approach to customer service is frustratingCustomer service standard is cheap. Indego is a miser. Will suspend your account for as little as a penny with no warning. Very inconvenient when your at the rack just about to start your work commute. Also, they won’t take my debit card for my transit spending account, issued by my employer. It works perfectly fine for Septa and NJT. Was told it only take cards issued by banks. Just a sneaky form of discrimination and exclusion. Customer service rep condescendingly kept repeating we only take cards fdic insured. They have more respect if it wasn’t a monopoly. I’ll still use as it’s the only city commuter bike service..Version: 2.2.6

Unethical billing practice.I subscribed for a month because my gf wanted to use their service. The company ended up continue to charge my card monthly for services that I never used. The company’s practice is somewhat unethical considering that I never received any email receipt from them suggesting that I was still paying for their monthly subscription. I just downloaded the app trying to cancel my subscription. What’s worse is I cannot find a way to remove my credit card information from the app after cancelling my subscription. Be careful when signing up for this service..Version: 2.0.1

Nothing is loading...Downloaded app after a year or so of not having it (i used to have a $15 monthly subscription) because i wanted to take a ride downtown and nothing shows up. no docks, bikes at docks, nothing. not sure what’s going on with app but it’d help if knowing if a station had bikes or not instead of potentially wasting time walking to dock..Version: 1.6

Pay at kioskLet people pay at the kiosk so they don’t have to download a horrible app that doesn’t work.Version: 2.4

Trip wouldn’t end when bike was dockedGot stranded far from home since I couldn’t book a new trip after I docked my bike..Version: 3.1.0

No option for Single RideHaving no option for a single ride / pay per minute is absurd. These bikes are all around Philly. I just wanted to hop on, ride a few blocks to my destination, and be done. But no, it’s $15 for a full day plus extra $ for over 30 minutes. Or more for monthly / yearly passes. Forget it, Philly, I’ll walk. And I’ll recommend anyone coming into town to visit to do the same. PS. Customer Service (via phone) was helpful and just as frustrated as I was that there was no option for a single ride. Apparently the company has received many complaints about this..Version: 2.8.0

Took my money, never gave me the passCan’t log in through the app after resetting my pw.Version: 2.6.0

Mixed ResultsThe bikes are great, and very convenient, when they cooperate. However, maintenance is not always up to date (parts rattle, the seats don’t latch properly, etc) and bike checkout and return is often finicky, to say the least. Customer support is pretty easy to get in touch with and super friendly, but I shouldn’t have to call them this often for a bike return that failed to register in the app. And I shouldn’t walk 3 blocks to a non-empty station just to have the app refuse to let me checkout an available bike due to a network error..Version: 2.8.0

NopeThe prices are too high. Electric bikes are totally unreasonably priced.Version: 3.0.1

Would not let me log inTook my money, but will not let me login.Version: 2.2.7

Don’t botherI don’t ever write reviews but do yourself a service by saving your money. $20 for a monthly membership and $8 extra for a 41 minute ride. That’s a rip off. It’s not worth it. You’re better off walking..Version: 2.4.1

The most thieving company of all.I was visiting Philadelphia in the last week and I bought a day pass from this company I did two rides on the same day one to go somewhere and one back, 5 days later I was charged $500 for the disappearance of the bike. I got in touch but I've never seen so much unwillingness to try to resolve whatever my issue was. DO NOT USE THIS APP. they act with bad intentions and then you are the same as i feel now, robbed and deceived. the docks of this company by accident or out of sheer malice break, they say the bike didn't return and they steal from you, that's what you did to me..Version: 2.4.1

UselessDownloaded latest version. Doesn’t show any docks or bikes. Fix your app.Version: 1.4.1

Would give them 0 stars if I couldWhile the convenience is the only real selling point, the bikes have issues 70% of the time, whether the gears don’t shift, the seat is falling off, or a tire is completely flat. And if by chance you find a working bike the station could be down and you may have to walk 5-10 blocks to find another working bike. I know they can afford to maintain the bikes/stations but they choose to do the bare minimum. They will also wait to rack up charges and hit you with ebike fees out of the blue. It’s really frustrating because there aren’t many alternatives..Version: 2.2.6

Not good for touristsWhat’s up Indego I’m in Philly for 2 days and my options are $15 for 24 hours. Are you smoking something? I got a rail pass for 72 hours for that much and I don’t do anything. Thanks for blowing up the environment choice with your charges!.Version: 2.6.0

Please add pay by the hourOnly can rent for full days or months. No one in philly uses these. Would be a hit if you could rent for an hour.Version: 2.7.0

Hidden feesCharged my account over 50 dollars in e bike and over time fees for a ride the was an hour and 13 minutes. I called and got it refunded but I would’ve never gotten it back if I never reached out. It also caused an inconvenience because money was tight at that time. Used to love going riding with my girlfriend on these bikes, but now I can’t trust it. I might not be so lucky next time. Time to get my own bicycle, won’t be using again..Version: 1.7

Horrible OnboardingThis has been one of the worst app onboarding experiences. I purchased a monthly pass but cannot access my account. The monthly pass email says to use my phone number to check out a bike, but this isn't an option through the app? Further, I'm not able to login to my account with the email/password combination I created and the "Forgot Password" button has no functionality whatsoever.Version: 2.8.0

Terrible customer service, terrible productIndego has a monopoly on the bike share in Philadelphia and is a complete and total disaster. Bikes often have mechanical issues ranging from batteries showing they’re charged when they’re not (and refusing to give you a refund) to brakes not functioning. When you report a problem, customer service associates are, rude, condescending, and unfit to interact with humans. They are a complete and total dumpster fire of an organization..Version: 3.0.1

Horrible customer serviceThey have the worst customer service I have ever dealt with..Version: 2.6.0

Never any Regular bikesThere are always electric bikes because they cost extra money. Their batteries are hurting our environment. PUT OUT MORE REGULAR BIKES..Version: 2.7.1

Bait & SwitchThis company advertises all you can ride for $20/mo, but they don’t have any classic bikes available. They only stock e-bikes, which are 20¢ per minute plus tax on top of the amount you’ve already paid. The nearest classic bike is farther than my entire trip. Scam..Version: 2.8.0

Buggy appDoes not let me save edits to profile.Version: 2.2.6

Extremely inconvenientI’ve been riding with Indigo for over a year now and it’s definitely one of the worst bike services compared to Citibike or Divvy. You could pull up to an Indigo stop with 15 bikes and only 2 will be available especially early in the morning or at night. Bikes are locked for “maintenance” without maintenance workers being there. Because of this riding with Indigo is extremely unpredictable and can make you late for work/events if you depend on it. Customer service offers no help either. It’s really disappointing because it would be a great bike service without this issue..Version: 3.0.1

Was this app made by a child?Scammed me for 2 trips and both times, with different emails, wouldn’t let me login. Thanks for the horrible experience!!.Version: 2.2.6

Never Make Apps AgainThe entire development team for this “app” should be fired and then sued. I don’t even know where to begin with the broken and ugly areas of this dysfunctional piece of trash. Do I begin at the fact that when I open the app it suggests that I download the app? Do I start with delivering the message that 2007 called and wants its app back? Do I start by pointing out that this “application” is nothing more than a crappy web browser? Do I begin with its broken API and authentication problems? I can’t even create an account much less login or pay for a rental bike. My friend had to ride on the back of one of the bikes with me because of how broken this so called “app” is. I’m surprised, given Apple’s standards of quality for what is allowed in the App Store, that this app even passed their QA approval process. Imagine being a company, and designing an app you so obviously have never used yourselves. Sad, just sad..Version: 2.2.3

Bad UXEvery other city has figured out how to do this seamlessly, the app experience is terrible. Making and account and getting everything verified takes way longer than it should. Too many steps for renting a bike as a tourist for half a day..Version: 2.2.7

Feature request:I would love if there was a way get Apple Maps directions when looking at any station in the app I often have to manually search the address of the station I’m riding to in Apple Maps where it would be a lot more convenient to just have a button redirect you to Apple Maps with the directions to the station’s address you were looking at As for a general review of the app, it works pretty well for the most part with the exceptions of some small bugs like text overflowing from the view it’s in or the “All”, “Bikes”, “Docks” segment buttons sometimes being replaced by another button.Version: 2.8.0

Somewhere in between 0 stars & 5 starsWe went to an eagles game. And there were at least 20 of us not knowing where to dock our bikes before the game. I called and the only solution was to ride FAR FAR AWAY. WHICH SOURED OUR ENTIRE EXPERIENCE.Version: 2.6.0

Good in theoryIn theory this is a great service. In practice it will leave you stranded or walking all over to try to find the elusive station that is both online and stocked with bikes. I want to like it, I really do. Maybe once they can reliably stock bikes where masses of people are getting out of work, I could use the service without anxiety about not having access to a bike to get home..Version: 2.2.6
