✓ Love this app 10/10This app is BY FAR a MUST if you want to see the aurora. If it weren’t for this app I would have missed out on some of the best nights, of which was just a few days ago. I highly recommend it.Version: 6.3.0
✓ FrustratingI find this app totally frustrating to use. My neighbours post a photo of beautiful northern lights… no alerts? No forecast? You can even find news articles talking about a solar eruption forecasting beautiful aurora, but the app only has the usual streams of cryptic data. I love the way it says 0% of seeing aurora right now in your location when it’s daytime. Duh!.Version: 6.2.14
✓ Not sure about this appI have been in Fairbanks Alaska using this app for about two weeks and id say the only thing it is accurate about is where the Aurora oval is. I like the layout of the app but it is hardly ever correct especially with cloud cover . Def could use some work..Version: 5.1.13

✓ UnsureI’ve never seen the aurora before. I’ve had a few warnings since downloading this app. I just really wish it would make more of an effort to tell me. One little buzz is ok if your awake but your usually asleep when the warnings come though. I’d love the app to set off some sort of alarm to wake me up..Version: 2.0.3
✓ InnacurateThis app consistently reports Kp’s 1 or 2 higher than what it really is. I’ve used this one alongside 6 other apps and it is wrong consistently. My comparisons are to the official NOAA forecast.Version: 4.1.1
✓ Paid optionI clicked on an ad within the app by mistake. It asked me to change some settings. I take my phones security and my privacy fairly seriously. I would much prefer a paid version. Update. Turns out there is a paid version. I would have liked a link to the paid version available in the free version. If there was one I couldn’t find it. My Aurora Pro $1.99. Worth it not to have the ads, cause I do like the app..Version: 2.0.6
✓ Ads and PORN in a paid for app??!!Appalled to open the app for the very first time to be affronted with a come-on to dial an obviously pornography talk line. After closing the app and reopening next presented with Ads. Get real. Had hoped to use Aurora to maximize my possibility of seeing the Northern Lights on a trip. But frankly it’s so offensive, that I am deleting it right after posting this review. SHAME ON YOU. Just wish the apparently excellent maps, probability and reported sightings features were not obliterated by the unnecessary and offensive issues..Version: 6.1.1

✓ Don’t get discouraged by low probability %I’m not sure how useful this app is. Last night we saw pretty amazing lights in Tromsø despite the app saying there was only 12% chance and 50% cloud cover. Perhaps it’s useful if you’re in a place where the light are more rare. But if you have access to a spot with minimal or no light pollution and the sky is more on the clear side, it’s worth giving it a go regardless of the %..Version: 2.0.0

✓ It’s a terrible app to interpretThe graphs that are presented have no explanation or keys. The red green and yellow bars are not explained. Red implies bad (if we are thinking traffic light) but often comes with the highest index. So is this an indication of colour of the Aurora? It can tell you that the chances are good if there are clear skies. Yet it knows the cloud cover so why doesn’t it amalgamate the information to a single statement of possibility. Overall the information is not easy to interpret at a glance, or even upon deeper investigation. v poor in my opinion..Version: 5.2.0

✓ Needs instructions, or at least a legendThis may be a useful app, but I wouldn’t know, because it gives you lots of charts to look at and no explanation as to what they mean. ✓ Not great...This app has just been disappointing for me. I read good reviews about it online and decided to download it. However, all it has done is given me false hope. I can’t tell you how many times I receive notifications that the KP index is “becoming high” but when I look at the map, it is clear that there is no chance of seeing the northern lights based on my location. ✓ Pretty UselessWhen I hear from the news or friends and family that there’s a chance to see the northern lights, the map in this app tells me there’s zero chance to see them from my location. Only to wake up to beautiful pictures from others in my area the next morning. You get no warnings of possible sightings from this app or you’ll get a warning after you’ve gone to bed that others have reported seeing them in your area right now. ✓ Not accurateI live in Alaska, and many people have been posting pictures of Auroras lately so I decided to download this app so I could plan when to stay up and see it myself. My location was correct as I could see it was where I truly was. The app gave me a 0% chance of Aurora for the last three days. I woke up this morning and many people posted pictures from the night before of spectacular Aurora borealis. ✓ Optimistic forecastAnd i think tracking the moon phases and its orbit are just as important as tracking cloud cover. I’ve never seen northern lights with a full moon out. ✓ Aurora LightsWe are finding it frustrating trying to photograph the Aurora Lights. For weeks we have been looking outside to see if there were any lights. Only just a few days ago a lady told us you cannot see them with the naked eye but only on your camera or phone. Also from the South. We are now at Clarence Point which is North.
