✓ BrilliantWhilst I very much prefer using the full version of SSDR on a PC for all the extra integrations that can be done... Marcus has done a brilliant job with this iPad version and that means I can play radio from anywhere. It's feature rich and capable. Well recommended. Only thing I don't really like is the cost of the additional bells and whistles, it can end up costing quite a bit. I'd like to see some other stuff in there... perhaps something like a CW decoder or some other data modes..Version: 3.9.10

✓ Audio is clipped or boxyHello, I really like this software for iPad for the Flex Radios. Two things. I purchased this for my iPhone, but it doesn’t work on my iPhone, says I need to purchase it, but it works on my iPad. Go figure. Second, on my iPad, I got my Bose NC headset adjusted to work perfectly with my iPad and this software.. Then this morning I got on the air with my iPad and I was getting very bad audio reports. They say it sounded boxy and they couldn’t understand what I was saying. I thought maybe it’s the Bose Headset, but when I did this on my Android, the audio reports were perfect. Maybe it was the latest software with the Bluetooth? Here is extra info. This is an iPad Air 2 with version 15.8.1 I tried using only the microphone with the iPad only ( not the Bluetooth Bose) and I got the same distortion, so it’s not the headset. ✓ Go-To App for FlexRadioSmartSDR for iOS is not only a great implementation of the SmartSDR style program but adds great features. I use the in-App purchases of the Logbook, Band Plan and DX Cluster with great success. Using the software has made it easy to work my station when traveling, adding to my ham radio experience. ✓ Great UnitFrankly I was tired of playing with raspberry pi, usb dongles and vnc software so I purchased a flexradio and it worked ok with the windows software but was still buggy. ✓ SmartSDR for IOS Must Have appSmartSDR for IOS is a Must Have app for the jam on the go. Using SSDR for IOS and my Flex 6600 allows me to have ability to operate on HF when I am not in front of the radio. Very intuitive to use and the online manual is thorough and well written. Anyone with an IOS device and a Flex 6000 series radio should get this app. I was recently hospitalized and SSDR for IOS allowed me to get on and operate HF, and helped pass time. ✓ Awesome app and top notch supportIve had the app since it first was released. Used on a 6500 and 2 6400’s thus far. This latest release is outstanding. The FT8 functionality is excellent. I used to use splashtop and remote into my pc in the shack to do FT8. Now, i can do it all right from the app on my ipad and iphone 13 Max. Logging works great and can be uploaded to QRZ and LOTW. About the only thing this app cant do is the functionality of JTAlert. But give it time. Markus is a talented developer. His support is top notch. He answers emails very quickly and turns out patches and upgrades quite often. You wont regret buying the app. Get the logbook and FT8 tools also. Money well spent. Im a 100% remote operator. ✓ Amazing access to Flex radioIt took me some time to get the Mac iOS version of SmartSDR working properly on my MacBook Pro… not because of any problems with the App, it was more a case of me being a slow learner! Looking back it was pretty easy. Having got the Mac version working and having familiarised myself with it I decided to try this version for the iPad. I had it working, completely interfaced with Flex 6400M and PGXL linear amplifier and operating G2YT remote from Asia within a few minutes. ✓ Remote Operating At It’s BestI bought a Flex 6400M with idea of operating it remote when we were out RVing. The radio is great and the pc software works great too. But I have a tether speed limit of 5 Mbps and was concerned that would not handle the radio data very well. The iPhone version works so well that I use a HDMI cable to the 50” tv and I am enjoying the hobby on the road without putting up additional antennas. The software works great! I have used it to remote operate my flex 6700 from many countries around in the world Is truly amazing to be able to remotely control my ham radio station in California by either my iPhone or my iPad. It looks awesome on the iPad Pro. I specially like the fact that It has alternate color schemes so that my poor old eyes can actually see the meters. And I specially like the fact that it has DX spots on the display.
