Timelines Time Tracking for Negative User Reviews

Yet another dev moves to subscription modelI had used this app for about 18 months quite happily. Today, two problems. First, the 2.0 has lost all of my events. Just...gone. Hundreds of timers have evaporated. Second, the dev has moved to a subscription model. I don’t like those and therefore I am now back in the market for a purchased app that won’t bail on me after it gets me hooked into their ecosystem. Disappointing..Version: 2.0

Constantly telling you to subscribeEvery time.Version: 3.8.3

MehWould be better if you could change the timer while it’s running.Version: 3.8.2

Update only gives ads tab?Recently the app went all in subscription. The discounted annual price for old users is even pricier than the one-off price before. As an old user without paying the extra premium, all I get from the update is an empty tab advertising for the new subscription. What a hell..Version: 2.0.2

Want to love it, but it’s buggyI wanted to love this all given how simple and beautiful it is, but unfortunately it’s entirely too buggy. if you plan to only use the iOS app on one single device (no apple watch, no ipad, no mac) and directly use the app rather than using apple shortcuts then you won’t run into any of the bugs i found. to summarize the biggest ones: - timers would keep running well after they’d been ended (this may have something to do with the mac app or with shortcuts, i’m not sure) - the shortcut actions would randomly raise errors and disappear from the shortcuts i’d made - ipad widgets are nonexistent - on apple watch it nonsensically asks “what device would you like to run this on?” without even providing any options to click on which makes it completely unusable on the apple watch. The developer and I emailed a bit attempting to troubleshoot, but I can’t commit hours of my life to fixing someone else’s project. I’ll revisit this app before my subscription runs out in the hopes that it’s working better because I honestly do like it, but for the next ~11 months i’m switching back to Timery. If you’re time-tracking for mission-critical purposes like recording billable hours then I recommend running timelines in parallel with whatever system you’ve already got going before committing to it.Version: 3.7.3

Good when you figure it outGood app when you come to understand how its organized. Could use a guide, but maybe its self-evident to other end users..Version: 1.1

Recently Gone DownhillI'm not sure what it is, but recently this application has been incredibly buggy. Apple Watch App - Timelines would remain red, even after stopping them. - When I deleted and then reinstalled Timelines to my Apple Watch, it is stuck saying "Timelines added in iPhone app will appear here. Despite me having added several timelines in the iPhone app iPhone App (Notification Centre Widget) - Does not keep the timer going on timers that I start. When I return later to turn the timer off, it appears already off (yet is still running in the background) Without an easy way to quickly start/stop timers without having to open the actual app, this app is incredibly useless to me. A real shame since I paid a pretty penny for it....Version: 1.3

Update wiped out my prior recordsThe lost data is disappointing but also not really a huge deal to me since I track month to month, and the update came right around the start of September - but I did want to warn others who may have more critical data saved. Also, while the new features look nice and I would have paid a reasonable one-time fee for them, the push to so many subscription models in software is resulting in hefty annual payouts when taken together. If it’s going to be the way going forward, Apple should offer bundles - $5 a year for X many apps, $10 a year for X many additional apps, etc. Otherwise it becomes unsustainable for the consumers. Nice app though. I might keep using it, but given the lost data I may just once again go through the whole process of researching which app seems best for the money from among all those that perform this function (a process I already went through which brought me to this app originally)..Version: 2.0.1

Decent app but on a subscription modelIt’s good and has some neat features but I’m entirely against paying subscriptions for apps that hardly change. digital landlords. i like apps to be transactional and I don’t need cloud sync. i’d always pay a fair amount of money for single purchase apps instead..Version: 3.8.2

PluralsTimelines. Timers. That's the pitch. Another tracking app that locks you into their idea of getting things done. Only one timer running any one time? Try again..Version: 1.0

Free version essentially useless, paid version outrageously over priced subscriptionGood interface but £100 for five years use compared to, say, the cost of Photoshop makes the price incredulous..Version: 2.3.3
