My AcuRite for Positive User Reviews

WiFi stincksI switched to a WiFi display unit. The software works OK, but the WiFi receiver in the display unit, has to be the cheapest one available. I went to the WiFi display, to eliminate using a PC, as with my previous unit. The WiFi display, was easy for me to get going, BUT. My router is in the same room, maybe 15 feet away from the display unit. Putting the display right next to the router, you get 4 BARS on the unit. At 10 feet, the BARS are 2-3 in the display. Where I need to place the display, is about 15 feet from the router, in open room space with no obstructions. The signal is 1 BAR, and fluctuates from 1 BAR to maybe 2-3 BARS, to dropping the connection altogether. The same router, connects to other devices, and all have full BARS, and never drop the WiFi signal, even in other rooms in the house. Some of the other WiFi units are out in my backyard, and connect with the router no problem..Version: 3.5.4

Affordable and reliableHave used the app with the 5 in 1 station and Access and it works flawlessly. Simple to set up and use within minutes of opening the box. Don’t be afraid to try their products as the hardware is good and seeing your home weather on the app is fun. I am not a paid shill..Version: 3.3.0

Works wellNice app for checking my tower sensor..Version: 2.6.0

App/System has been working well! After initially having issues with maintaining a connection, everything has been working great. Batteries on the sensors died recently and no notification was received. Settings have been set to notify me of a low battery. The information in the app shows that battery is “normal.” This needs to be corrected..Version: 3.5.1

Very pleased nowI was disgruntled when I had to upgrade the hub to continue using the app. I have invested in multiple temp sensors so I did the upgrade (apparently they warned users of upgrade and offered a discount on the new hardware, but I only discovered that when it was too late. Not considerate of the company to not support original customers versus an arbitrary deadline). However I am otherwise very happy with the product. We live in a climate of extremes, and I have a sensor in the greenhouse for summer to warn of overheating, and I move it to an outbuilding to warn me if it dips below a certain temp in middle of winter, which means heater stopped working. Both locations are long distance from hub (300+ feet) and with the booster which is outside in summer and inside on a windowsill in winter, signals are excellent. A second sensor lives year round in sheltered shaded outdoor location for accurate ambient temp, and third is year round in basement to make sure not too cold in winter. All are powered by EDL rechargeable batteries, and operate remarkably well considering the cold (and for long time, months, on single charge!) So the app has been awesome to monitor everything, send temp alarms, check status of sensor, signal and battery at a touch, see graphs of temp history... From my phone wherever I am in the world, or ipad when reading..Version: 3.3.3

Works fine for meI don’t know why it has such poor ratings. Works fine for me. Doesn’t blow my socks off but it’s good..Version: 3.4.1

5 in 1My system had worked great since I bought it a few years ago. Suddenly the rain gauge is not working. When we do get rain it doesn’t register any rain at all or only registers minute amounts. Tonight for example, we had a downpour for a half hour but the 5 in 1 only reported 0.06”. I replaced the batteries in the unit a few days ago but no improvement. Any ideas what the problem might be?.Version: 3.4.1

Great app ... butThis is a great app, and I use it every day. I have never had a problem with it, and it connects well with my 5-1 weather station. My only wish is that we could have an Apple Watch App to go with it. I really think a lot of Accutite & Apple Watch users would welcome that..Version: 3.4.1

SUPER AWESOME APP!!This app is so freaking cool! I've had it three days so far and I'm being blown away by all of the features!! The other day I figured out that you can tap on a dashboard item (i.e. Wind speed) and it'll open a graph page. That's neat. Just tonight I clicked on lightning after the storm went through. Then I just found out that you can zoom multiple directions. Up can pinch zoom vertically AND horizontally!! That is so gosh darn neat!!.Version: 3.4.1

Simply SuperbI don’t go out of my way to write reviews unless an app really stands out - one way or the other. This one is well thought out and well executed. I’m now easily able to get precise weather metrics not only at the house I’m at but the one I’m not at. Well done. Update - the negative reviews simply must be a result of user error, as simple as this system is to use. I’ve had it installed for several years at two homes and a boat that cruises on the Great Lakes, and each installation has multiple sensors. The boat installation has to be considered hard on the system. Nonetheless the ONLY problem I’ve had is I had to clear a spider web from the aspirating fan on one of the 5 in 1s. I take note of the reviews of a related software product, Under the WX. This would be of interest only to those with a SERIOUS interest. All the reviews? 5stars.Version: 3.4.2

Saved my greenhouseI’ve got 2 Acurite sensors in my greenhouse, and a couple more at various locations in my yard, mainly for temp and humidity monitoring. They saved my greenhouse full of tropicals and orchids by sending alerts to my email, setup specifically for this. I’ve recently acquired an Apple Watch 4 and would really like for the app to access the watch so I don’t have to keep the iPhone on my person all the time. Is this a possibility for the near future? If this happens I’ll up the review to 5 stars..Version: 3.2

No issues works wellInstalled the app at the cottage and I have no issues. I have 3 temp devices with one out side. Same feel and info as the web site account. Refreshes by pulling down on the screen which is fine. As a free app and service I am very very happy..Version: 1.0.5

Presque parfait.J’ai ma station Acurite depuis plus d’un an. Je l’apprécie beaucoup. Je lui donne une note de quatre sur cinq..Version: 3.2.4

From craptastic to much better...All it did was crash, so my initial review reflected that. Like it a lot now that it is working, thank you for getting it fixed..Version: 1.0.5

Works great (2019 Review)We just picked up the 5-in-1 Weather Station and loving it. The app was really easy to setup, quite accurate and consistent information. The only feature missing from the app is Widget & Apple Watch support..Version: 3.2

Back On TrackSince the last update, the app no longer refreshes when I open it. Each time I must pull down the screen and manually refresh data. UPDATE: it’s fixed! Thank you Acurite!!.Version: 3.0.37

Has worked well for meI have two weather stations (Atlas@42ft and Iris@ 10ft) plus temperature sensors in the front door alcove, the attic and a new one to monitor my greenhouse) going through an Access and a backup Access. I have been using the MyAcurite app for several years to monitor while at home and while away. It has been very stable. Its a great tool for my family..Version: 3.5.1

Charts Works again! Yeah!I called Acurite about 5 days ago and told the tech that CHARTS didn’t work anymore and that when clicking on it, it said Connecting to Server and then it just closed. Well, just got an Update from the App Store for my iPad and CHARTS works again. Thanks Acurite for listening and fixing the the App. Looking forward to getting the Brand new ELITE weather station when it’s available. Hopefully soon..Version: 3.0.37

FlakeyThe ability to see data thru the internet is really flakey. Will be running fine for weeks then the no signal message starts up, particularly when there is an Apple system upgrade. Very frustrating experience..Version: 3.4.1

Not as Bad as People StateAcurRite Atlas Weather Station with Direct to Wi-Fi and Lightning Detection. Not as bad as others stated. Yes I had a hard time trying to load the app but was patient to wait for customer service to open. Monday morning I was first in que and before you knew it I was up and running and on Weather Underground. The outdoor unit does look crooked when perfectly level, but works like it should..Version: 3.4.6

Great app, great support from TracyI recently had an issue with my connection to the app, and then I realized I couldn’t call someone so I chatted with a wonderful representative of their customer service team. Tracy if you ever see this, you are the best customer service representative! Not only did you help me,I left feeling like I made a new friend..Version: 3.5.1
