✓ This is very inaccurateI clapped and it said “very dangerous”..Version: 6.0
✓ Overly sensitiveFirst it’s free so I wasn’t expecting much but it does need some way of calibrating. Also would be helpful to have some way of notifying the user when the decibel level reaches a pre-set level. I don’t want to have to open the application and take a reading but would like it to run in the background with a notification of when decibel reach a certain level..Version: 6.0

✓ Grossly inaccurate.I have severe hyperacusis, tinnitus & other ear problems.my tinnitus is so loud i cant accurately predict what noise level im in so I use a db meter to know when to protect & when to try cope without ear plugs etc. This app. Is the worst I've used. I was recently in an Audi A6 with engine running in an empty street it recorded 104decibels! It never went below 96 decibels. Currently have the Tv on with subtitles only and its recording 76 decibels! Its in reality about 45! This app then randomly stops working & shows a recoding of minus 55 & sticks on that. Its o grossly inaccurate a large % of the time it cannot be relied upon even as a gauge its not trustworthy. Much better ones around. What i do like about this one is the easy reading. If this became an accurate app it would be fantastic. Sadly, its the worst in accuracy so one i will delete. Look elsewhere this is not fit for purpose..Version: 6.0

✓ Rock producerI tried this for getting my new speakers to the correct volume for mixing and mastering. It massively overrated the level by almost 20 db which as db is a logarithmic scale can mean it's reading the sound as hundreds if not thousands of times louder. ✓ Not scientific but this app is not accurate.Sitting in a quiet room, this app shows 70db. Maybe it hears my tinitus; this, it adds 20+ db to reality. I asked my 8-year old son and my Lady to engage in basic conversation with me to develop a baseline. The app recorded 85-95db while my phone was in its Lifeproof case, which degrades sound transference more than the people I talk to on the other end would prefer. I then walked outside to record the db of my 10kw generator. The app showed the exhaust was around 105. The generator has been shown in previous tests with several other apps (and the digital microphone our industrial hygienist uses at my place of work) as around 85. I will keep looking..Version: 6.0

✓ Seems to register high though consistentI have three sound apps. Two run extremely close the first is a simple monitor in decibels wo the ability to adjust against a standard value. The second is capable of fine tuning and both read wo tuning quite close. This app however, indicated 20+ decibels high than my other apps. That said, it is very consistent suggesting that it just needs the ability to adjust for a standard baseline which the developer does not provide. As such, this app has very limited use outside of comparisons to other known sounds on its unique non-standard scale. The interface is appealing and overall efficiency seems to suggest a quality app. It’s a shame that it isn’t better calibrated when loaded or provide a means for the user to calibrate the app. I would not recommend this app for any pro or pro-am application of value. ✓ Too sensitive resulting in grossly inaccurate readingsWhen comparing the decibel readings of this app compared to several other db meter apps that I downloaded, this one consistently reads 15 to 20 db higher. In actual loudness, that is a huge difference since decibels are measured on a logarithmic scale. If you’re looking for accuracy, look elsewhere. I’d suggest the free NIOSH SLM app which has more features and seems to be way more accurate..Version: 6.0
✓ Consistent but over-sensitiveThe calibration is off on the over-sensitive side. My talking quietly...just loud enough to activate Siri with a (sturdy install, not wobbly) ceiling fan in the background and the iPhone about 12-14 inches away from my face...registered at 75-80 dB. The good news is it's consistent, just need to be able to calibrate. My 2-star rating would easily be 4-5 stars if there was a way to calibrate or establish a relative baseline..Version: 6.0

✓ Not goodThis app is extremely microphone sensitive. When I opened it the decibel meter was reaching a yellow color near the top, and keep in mind I was laying in bed a 2:12 AM because I couldn’t sleep so it was completely silent in the room. I set my phone down on my bedside table and now the decibel meter was jumping between the 30-40 range. I wasn’t moving at all and couldn’t even hear myself breath. The only noise in the room was my little brother sleeping and breathing kinda loud, but I knew it wasn’t loud enough or close enough to set the meter off as he was like nearly 10 feet away. I don’t like talking bad about things because it usually means less sales for the creator if people decide to listen to this but I mean this app kinda has it coming from how sensitive it was..Version: 6.0
