Glucose Blood Sugar Tracker for Negative User Reviews

Program problemsI am unable to get my reader to get an printout f’or my doctor..Version: 2.0.8

Landscape ViewHello Folks at Glucose Support. I tried contacting you via the apps feedback feature but you turned off your server as I assume you don't want to get feedback on from your users. I use your app extensively to monitor my Glucose levels. One feature I would like to see added is the ability to see the graphing feature in landscape view. That would give users a more global view of their results. The ability to scale the graph would also be helpful Thanks for your consideration. jeff.Version: 1.7.9

Poorly designed algorithms…..On the surface, this app appears to work as expected, however after awhile if you actually look at the data compilations and do some independent calculations, you will notice that the ‘averages’ don’t actually add up, and that the algorithms that are used to calculate your BG averages are actually not correct, and don’t provide the actual numbers that they should. An example would be: 1) when my BG went up 57 points, the average went up by 0.1 point 2) when my BG went DOWN 54 points, the average went UP by 0.3 points! I’ve been using this app for over a year now, and this anomaly has been repeated multiple times in virtually every month that I’ve been using and tracking it. This is unacceptable for an app built to monitor something ‘health’ critical, that people rely on for their wellbeing. The best thing that this app is good for is nothing but ‘ballpark’ guesstimates of your actual BG levels..Version: 2.34.0

Needs a little workComing from Android’s BG Monitor, I was looking for something equivalent in simplicity but still had the features I was used to and this was the closest I could find. For the most part it works fine but a few minor but deal killers for me.. First is the blood sugar is REQUIRED for an entry, sometimes a BG is not necessary if you are bolusing after a check/bolus/correction. I end up using the previous blood sugar and it messes with the averages displayed on the home screen. Second is the graph, when selecting a blood sugar it only displays the number and date, the time is not included which makes it difficult to target the exact time frame of a high/low trend. Third the contact information doesn’t work, it always displays “Cannot connect to server” at the top every time. There is also no feature for diet other than a notes section on each entry. Perhaps once the bug with the contact method is fixed and I can get in touch I will change my review. This app has great potential but for me it’s not quite there yet..Version: 1.7.9

I’ve been connedThis app is nowhere near worth paying for, first of all you have to do all the work. Secondly, I could have designed a better spreadsheet in Excel. Thirdly, don’t waste your money - download Mysugr! Fourthly. If I could have left no stars I would have..Version: 2.34.0

No decimal pointWas a fantastic app until the latest update there is no decimal point when recording glucose levels..Version: 1.9

AvoidSaid it was free then locks you out when you update avoid.Version: 2.6.3

Now charges for reportI have been using this app to track my gestational diabetes during my pregnancy since August and up until now, didn’t have to pay to create a report for my doctor. Now, without warning, it wants me to pay $40 annually to do that. I don’t need a full year’s subscription, I’m due in February, so I will be moving on to another app. Would have been nice to receive some kind of notice so I could have started using a new app before I entered all of my numbers for this last week..Version: 2.31.2

Really BasicThe Glucose app is simple, but not very effective. At best, it’s just a list of glucose values in a scrolling list. The graphs are almost unreadable in portrait mode, and squeezed down to almost nothing in landscape mode. What this app calls “insights” are just periodic averages, plus the ability to generate a report. About that “report”: it’s just a list of glucose numbers. No charts, no graphics, not even any averages. And it contains two values labeled “value”, one of which is obviously glucose and the other which is always 0 — what does it mean? No clue! The “report” is just the same data seen in the main screen, which makes it effectively worthless. The only insight this app offers is a1c estimation, but there’s the rub: you’ve got to subscribe to the app to get that functionality. Trust me, it’s not worth it..Version: 2.7.1

Another update to lock out features.First, they updated and it locked out A1C unless you subscribe. Then it locked out more information on the data/insights page. Today there was an update with a “new and improved graph”...which is only visible if you pay a ridiculously high subscription. This was a great app. Would have paid a flat fee as it had all the features I wanted and presented data in an easy to understand manner. Now it’s a micro transaction horror. It’s being removed from my phone and I’ll b using a different app that, while ad supported, doesn’t lock away the basic functionality. Shame, as at my follow up yesterday my doctor really liked the way this app presented test results..Version: 2.7

IOS 16.6After updating my iPhone this app no longer works. Help!.Version: 2.33.6

Not well supportedI am well into my second year subscription and was using an iPhone 6 and 7th generation iPad and could easily use either device to log my health data into the Glucose app up until February 21, 2023 at which time the iPhone 6 stopped syncing data with my iPad. I reached out a couple of times to the App Developer with no resolution to the syncing issue. Later upgraded to an iPhone 14 and still the syncing issue persists. Unless the App Developer resolve my syncing issue I will not use when my subscription period ends.Version: 2.32.6

Gee, thanks for complicating my diabetes trackingThis app was perfect. Easy to use, easy to review data, easy to look at trends, the possibility of paying and getting additional features if required. Great indeed, and nothing wrong with the publishers earning a living by offering better features. Today I had a hypo. A bad one. In the evening once I’d recovered I thought it would be a good idea to look through my data, and to take a look at how it was trending. I find that in a recent update, most of the features I’ve relied on are now locked. Ok, fair enough, I’ll pay the few quid I need to open them up again. I’ve worked for software publishers and shouldn’t expect a lifetime of updates for free. Sadly I discover a requirement for £7 per month subscription, making it very expensive. This isn’t funny. My diabetes isn’t funny. Time to move on for me..Version: 2.7

SIMPLE. EASY. PERFECT!!Finally, a blood glucose app that does exactly what a diabetic needs it to do... it tracks your daily numbers! Unfortunately so many glucose app developers seem to think that a diabetic wants to share their disease on FB, Twitter, chat, signup, login, follow or be followed, ugh. No. Simply enter your readings, pick your time of day and hit done. If you want a reminder to check your level, it will do that for you too. The glucose level is always front and center... readily available for you to see at a glance. Nice. You can filter results and you can also sync results with HealthKit. The only thing this little gem of an app lacks is a field where you can keep a separate log of your A1C's so you can glance the log for reference. All said, after wasting money on so many glucose apps that are nothing more than bloated and intrusive... I say a big THANK YOU to the developers of GLUCOSE. Your glucose app in my opinion is definitely a 5 star app!.Version: 1.7.5

Was great, now going subscription model for little substanceI absolutely loved this app and would have gladly paid a one time fee to use it, but adding a subscription model?! Sticking a gross padlock on the A1C? (which as you state is just an estimate anyway) Seriously? I just want to manage my diabetes, not be reminded multiple times a day that someone is trying make money off my health problem. It’s really kind of offensive and the reason I deleted every other diabetes app I tried. The only thing worth a subscription would be access to a health professional who could help manage diabetes education and questions. Locking the rest of the features behind a subscription and not a one time fee is just going for money. Look I get it, everyone needs to make a living and earn money, and micro transactions and subscriptions are great avenue, but this move really cheapened a great app that stood out from a lot of other crappy ones..Version: 2.5

Please fix appBeen using this app for last two years without any issues until recent update. Please fix the decimal point issue...your latest update has rendered a good app to being useless. Please fix ASAP. Thank you.Version: 1.9

Deleting this appUsed to use this as my go to app. Recent changes to the subscription model, including a subscription block on A1c estimates and only maintaining 7 days of records have made this App useless. I would be glad to pay some tome fee but I am unwilling to go with a subscription fee. As a 69 year old senior on fixed income, I think it’s tragic to see this company chasing the money. Sorry to see this company following this route. At least keeping a list on paper gives me a more reliable record for a fraction of the subscription price..Version: 2.7.1

Don’t trust this app or its developersI originally really liked this app as it gave me the info my Dr. wanted. Then this evening I went to record my last blood sugar test and found out that the app had been changed and they are forcing me to pay a unreasonable monthly fee to get the same or similar ability I had yesterday. If they can change the app on my iPad without my permission or my knowing about it ... what else can, or are accessing on my iPad. My review went from a 5 star to a 1 star. Don’t use this app..Version: 2.7.1

Features now locked and require paymentAfter getting used to the app over the last 6 months for my family member’s diabetes, I just found that I can no longer get an A1C calculation in the app without subscribing to one of the new plans. There is literally a digital lock where that calculation would be. This is truly poor form. App team should have grandfathered in prior users as opposed to requiring payment for features that were previously gratis..Version: 2.5

New Charge for GraphUsed to be able to graph my history. Now only for a week unless subscribed. Looking elsewhere for such a simple feature..Version: 2.7.1

Not yet worth paying forApp still does not allow you to set a range if you use mmol. A minimum of 10 is obviously ridiculous. Please amend. I have requested this many times..Version: 2.5

Great until updateNew update has taken away my decimal point so it’s pretty useless now. Please fix this and I will happily rate 5 as otherwise it’s a great app.Version: 1.9

Not very user friendlyI have used it for 10 min and already deleted it and requesting a refund. I have the paid version. I should not have to input time of day for every sub-menu when inputting data. You cannot go back and edit an entry without deleting it and inputing the data again. Even though there is an edit screen, it is not functioning and you cannot see the glucose value you entered for that particular log entry..Version: 2.34.0

Decimal point is missingLoved it before - but in the new update, the decimal point is missing on the iPhone..Version: 1.9

Very disappointed.Just started using this app because my orig app is going out of business or something. I selected this one not because it was free, but because of its ratings. Now an update comes out and all of a sudden, parts require a hefty monthly fee or annual. Prior, I said, “how can this app be free? It’s not as neat as my orig, but fairly functional”... I would have gladly paid for it up front, once. But the little extra it offers is not worth a regular subscription. Seems everyone wants to get greedy. Shame..Version: 2.5

Terrible updateNeed a decimal to enter values. Currently looking for a new app..Version: 1.9

Now just shuts down :(App worked great for weeks - now just shuts down when I open it - have tried rebooting the phone and looking for updates to no avail - looks like I’ve lost that data now too..Version: 2.7.2

App changed since it was updatedThis was a fantastic app, it’s been updated over the last few days and I can’t log my blood sugars properly since. The decimal point has now been removed so it’s impossible to log your numbers properly, I’m going to use a different app now..Version: 1.9

How frustrating....I have been using this app since my diagnosis of diabetes and have shared it with many due to the tracking of sugars, seeing an estimated A1C and the visual tracking feature. How disappointed and frustrating it is when you open the app...and BOOM now it’s money to review those things that have been encouraging and helpful to stay on track. Yeah...no thanks. Will be removing this app. Not sure the reason for the change....it was not for the better. Will be warning others about this once praised app and sudden costly changes that magically appear while disappearing features you have been using with no warning..Version: 2.5

Making free features chargeable = 1 StarIt may be a small thing, but seeing the lock sign next to A1C this morning gave me pause. Tap on it to see it’s now a charged feature as part of a subscription model. If you want to add features and charge for new functions, fine, but retroactively deciding to remove features from the free version is dirty and doesn’t want to make me subscribe, it just makes me think of how long it’ll be until there’s a “++” subscription that’ll remove things from “+” and really has me thinking maybe I should stop using this app at all..Version: 2.5

Doesn’t work rightI can’t recommend this app in its current state. The Apple Watch app doesn’t work at all. I only get a blank screen. When the app syncs with HealthKit, I get numerous duplicate entries in the HealthKit diary (sometimes up to 30 duplicates — I stopped counting). I couldn’t reach the developers in the app via the Contact Us feature or via the App Store support link. Both links are not working. Good thing I didn’t pay for this. I’d be asking for a refund. Hopefully someone can shed some light on these issues. This app was exactly what I was looking for — only to be disappointed..Version: 1.7.8

I never have and never will subscribe to an app that wants money just to lock my glucoseAbsolute crap.Version: 2.5

Can’t sync between devices, app support not foundI logged on to iPad but no data came through despite having months of it on my iPhone. Tried to use app support, takes me to a page saying the domain doesn’t exist. Such a shame..Version: 2.33.7

Was good until the latest updateIt was a great app but after the latest update the graph chart requires you to pay. Very sneaky and greedy if you ask me..Version: 2.7

This was a 5 star app for me UntilI downloaded this nice free app to monitor my glucose and even have an A1C estimate. Things have been awesome 5 Star until today! Now they suddenly want me to pay a monthly fee to use the A1C tracker. They already have my information fir solicitation purposes and who knows who they sell that to. They also have lots of my glucose history for that same purpose they might sell. Now they suddenly spring a few on me!!!! That makes this a 1 star rating if that. I lodged a complaint and have not heard back. If they do not resolve this I will simply get a different free app. User beware..Version: 2.5

SHAME ON YOUMy husband and I both use this app to track our blood sugar and A1C average. This is the only number our doctor asks for when we see him every 3 months. He also looks at the graph if he feels there is a need. Now the A1C is licked and costs $30 to unlock! Is this greed or stupidity? It was free but now we will no longer use this but go in for testing instead. It all costs the same and at least I get to see my doctor when I have it checked there! What a bummer. I could tell if I needed to be worried before now I am back to having to figure this myself. SHAME ON YOU!.Version: 2.6

Glucose app review latestGood app but I personally think it’s better to buy Accu-Chek as they provide same information and automatically linked to your iPhone and Health App. You don’t have to pay..Version: 2.22

Recent update has made this app pretty much uselessI loved this app. It would have been 5 stars before the latest update. Perfect for logging blood glucose, how many insulin units taken, and how many carbs. One entry for all, so easy to see at a glance. Now, they all have to be logged separately, and with no decimal point, useless with not having accurate info. You shouldn’t have to be entering the blood sugar level in the notes. Instead of 3 entries in one day, I now have 9. As the app was, I would be more than happy to pay for it, but now I’m going to have to find another app. Please change it back. I can see no benefit at all to the changes that have been made..Version: 1.9

Reports are now for paid subscriptions onlyI was loving this app and very happy with all the features that come with a free subscription. Since reports were so thorough and available to all users, I chose to use this app over the one that syncs with my meter. However, there was an update which of course is right before my endocrinologist appointment and reports are now for paying users only. I will no longer be using this app. I’m very disappointed as I was an extremely satisfied user..Version: 2.31.3

No trialRefuse to pay £38 before I can even see what the app does.Version: 2.34.0

Now disappointedI have really liked the app and have faithfully used the app multiple times daily. Simple and will keep tracking of what I want to regard. Suddenly with no warning I must now pay anywhere from $3 to $5 monthly if I want the estimated A1C. No warning. Just suddenly it is locked. The thing is, the other two features that would be included in the paid app —I don’t foresee using one is to export graphics and the other is apparently for support. So now we would have to pay for support? Prior to this evening when I noticed the A1C feature locked I would have given a 5 star rating. Now I feel the need to compare this to other diabetic apps before making a decision to keep it..Version: 2.5
