✓ Each update kills it moreOh dear... you take a great game that can kill many enjoyable hours! You then reset everyone’s progress and kill it into a random hunt for energy. It takes ages to get to a playable state and then you make it online only. That means I cannot play in a commute so there is no point anymore. And that for tournaments? What a waste. I get developers who kill the game to make money, but you just kill it without any benefit to anyone. Good luck with that.Version: 2.7.1
✓ You know what, I’m actually furious.I spent a metric BUTTLOAD of time playing this game back when it was in Ye Olden Days—you only had 3 lives, you regained one every 30 minutes, and your only objective was to find gems. You didn’t have to go to a goblin to cash in on your gems; if you died, they were still yours. Everything was perfect like that—I enjoyed the simplicity, so I worked my way up to level 176. I completed the tasks for rebuilding the village to the max and just kept the extra stars I had in hopes that one day there’d be more tasks to spend them on. My pickaxe had nearly THREE HUNDRED hits. I even unlocked ALL of the little characters. I was having a blast—and then I took a break to spend time with my family after my brother went off to college and we had a series of hiccups in the family. Things died down and so, I finally came back...only to find all of my self-described accomplishments blown to BITS. Stars lost! Pickaxe at 30 hits! No characters! I have to talk to a goblin every two minutes or I lose everything! And all I got in compensation was a bunch of gold coins that I don’t even know the purpose of. I understand the revamp and I’m happy YOU like it, but I’m just here to tell you that at LEAST one person absolutely hates it. I played this app for so long and all I got out of it was the developers spitting in my mouth. My disappointment is immeasurable..Version: 2.7.1
✓ Frustrating.Another unnecessary and irritating update and for what? Nothing. Not enough energy. Now you always need the internet or you can’t play it. Most disappointed. Not to mention that again I’ve lost all my progress from earlier versions. This was completely uncalled for. I might be deleting what was an excellent, addictive game. Not happy. ✓ Why the screen is dark?Do something with that game. Making it all dark is a terrible idea. Nothing interesting, only pain in eyes. Some producents of movies think making the screen all dark makes it interesting to the viewer. Here game producents think it’s funny when you can’t see the game. ✓ Used to be goodSo I’ve been playing this game for about six months now, and am addicted. I would play it for hours on end, even introduced some friends to it. However the last update has ruined it for me. You can no longer play it for hours, only THREE GAMES AT A TIME. And I don’t have enough gold to waste on that. Speaking of gold, the prices for revival have gone up. It seems more like a scam for money now than anything else. And so once again, a few months ago this would be top on my recommendation list. ✓ Wonderful game, but ....This is a wonderful game. Well designed, attractive, tracks finger movement extremely well, interesting (iconic!) characters mixed into a clever, ongoing story. Plus it requires a great mix of strategy, fortune and speed to win a round — at least it was great until the unfortunate addition of a werewolf character at one of the higher levels. The werewolf reduces Dig Out to a mindless arcade game where speed is the only strategy. No time to learn the layout of the mine, no time to think out clever moves, no time to lay traps for the villains, no time to retreat to safe havens, no time to do anything — except run from the werewolf. As far as I’m concerned, the developers RUINED a near perfect game with their werewolf villain..Version: 2.16.0

✓ Complete lack of supportThis is a good game to play but if you are going to download it be prepared to be very frustrated. 1. When playing the actual game it often crashes, so the deeper you get the more chance this will happen when you are having a good game. 2. When watching videos, something they force you to do all the time, when they are finished the game often crashes and you have to start again. 3. Despite contacting support they completely ignored me after they first reached out by email and have done nothing to fix the bugs in the game. 4. ✓ Classic mode?I loved this game. It was so anxiety relieving. You just had to dig. It wasn’t complicated. Then this major update happened and I’m so upset. Now there’s lives and goblins and things to rebuild and it’s too much to think about. A suggestion: I would pay money to unlock a classic mode where I could go back and just play it how it used to be. ✓ Ridiculous latest update.I don't understand why the game had to get harder? It was already hard enough, especially after you limited the playing to only five lives at a time. ✓ Missing a couple of thingsThis game has a very solid base, meaning the main gameplay aspects are fun when you first get the game. However, there’s very little to do outside of the occasional event, which all feel more like luck-based challenges over skill (Canon Defense, Science Experiments). An extra daily challenge or a high risk-reward mode would be much better. In terms of actual gameplay, the difficulty ramps up as you progress like many similar games, but the increase in pickaxe uses doesn’t seem like enough of a reward for progressing in the game, and it’s the only upgrade that truly changes how your game could end up. Adding a few extra skills for characters could be useful, and since their are already so many different characters to unlock (which take forever unless you got money to fork over), you might as well make them more unique. Overall a solid game to waste time but only for a week or two before it starts to get old..Version: 2.25.1

✓ Money Grabbing CheatsDevelopers frequently updates the game increasing the difficulty to the point that it is impossible to play the game. Their sole purpose is to push the in-app sales: without those you can’t enjoy playing for longer than 1 minute. Some of the tricks include (but not limited to): slowing down your characters’ movements or making you walk into death traps without you even touching the screen. Making ghosts disappear out of the blue right next to you or conjuring traps that are impossible to avoid. Developers are also quite lazy when it comes to uploading new chapters and they have stripped down all the rewards so that even if you want to play fair and not use pay to win, you can’t. The game was fun, engaging and challenging... no point in playing against cheats..Version: 2.12.1
✓ Move it back to unlimited livesUsed to play this all the time. Some of the updates / changes are a bit naff, but you lived with that but now it’s no longer unlimited lives. Now you get 3 lives and then have to wait for the lives to refill (or probably pay to get unlimited back, not checked, won’t be doing it). Shame as I used to like this game but now it’s naff. Such as, every once in a while I hit a spot on the screen, I’m not even sure where it is, I will then be averted to the App Store for an app i don’t want and didn’t request to see. There is a bar on the very left hand side of the screen with three items that you can order to help you with the game. These obscure the very last set of blocks going down that side of the screen. You cannot see what is behind them and very often you end up getting killed because of something you can’t even see that there. It’s a stupid feature and I cannot figure out how to get rid of it. ✓ Used to be 5 stars.I had a really good pickaxe and quite a bit of chests I was trying to open. Then my progress was all gone and my pickaxe. I’m quite disappointed how I have to go to a goblin just to cash out my gems. I remember not needing iron or anything to upgrade your pickaxe. You used to not even have to worry about lives and you could just keep playing. I hate the games with lives where you have to wait for more. It’s made me play significantly less than I did. I used to play the game everyday to just chill out. I don’t even play the game once a month, I actually forget about it a lot. I really liked the look of just a couple of buildings on the surface and not worrying that much about dying. I just don’t understand why you had to do this. ✓ Load screen crashes!!Side note: I couldn’t even leave this review on your “contact” page to even try and be discreet about the issue. This game WAS good back in the old days when you actually had “caves” instead of just mindlessly wandering down further and further until you opt to go “home” and lose a life even after defeating a king! I’ve been playing Dig Out! and it seems as though I’ve had to un-install and re-install the app more times then I’ve gotten to actually enjoy playing it. The issue only occurs when I close out of the game and try to get back into it later in the day, it gets stuck at the load screen. I’ve had no problems loading other games with or without Wi-Fi, and I’ve already contacted my carrier about the issue and they don’t have anything to report as far as the connection goes. I’ve lost my progress way too many times to even continue playing anymore and im just bringing it to your attention for it to hopefully be fixed within the near future. I really do enjoy the game, but it’s no longer worth the hassle of having to restart every time I quit out of it and only able to “save progress” at the load screen which I can never get past..Version: 2.42.2

✓ Fun game if not for the bugs and adsThe game is fun, easy to learn and challenging enough to keep your attention for a while. The biggest problem isn't the colossal number of ads, it's that the game freezes about 1/2 the time after an ad runs. When the game freezes, you lose everything you gained on the last game and the time spent as well. Fix the ad-freeze bug and it'd be 5 stars for sure! UPDATE: I didn’t know it was possible to add more ads than they had before, but they did! It’s more frustrating now because it forces you to watch an ad before playing a level now, and the ad crashing is no better. The company running their ads is the same one on several other games, and the ad crashing is in those games as well (Archero, Sumkoner’s Greed), so I’d be looking for someone else to put in charge of the ads...unless you like a game crashing 30% of the time, AFTER you’ve watched the ad. ✓ I got cheated in this new update!A new update came out today in the game removing the keys to open the chests, y’all gave us credit for the keys that we had and not the chests. I had over 40 normal chests and at least 2 Epic chests that I’ve been trying to open, since removing the keys I just lost out on A LOT of iron, character tokens, and lots of other things. I am very upset that you guys cheated us out of the credit of those chests. It took lots of hours of game play to achieve those chests and just like that you removed them from my inventory. If I don’t get credit for those chests, I will delete this game. I have shared this game with a number of friends including my Fiancé and they are all upset with this update as well. If this matter is not fixed or dealt with, we will all stop playing this game. It frustrates me because this was my favorite game but every time you do a new update I get cheated in a different way all the time. SoMerging needs to be done about this. ✓ Dig OutThe game is fun and enjoyable as a distraction but there is really no objective. You upgrade hammers or blades but it does not elaborate as to what you can do now before you spent the money. The game freezes often and some rocks etc that you remove are still ghosted so you are stuck. The constant ads are extremely frustrating and more times than not you just stop playing because you watch more videos for other games than the time you spend playing. Giving credit where credit is due, I did download and ad, dungeon boss, and really enjoy playing it. 10times more than I play dig out. If the ads were one to 15 minutes of play I could rate the game higher. Especially since they offer “buy something and the ads go away”. ✓ 04/09/2020 *minor fixes* update is an act of pure greedThis game is already extremely predatory with the amount and cost of in-apps purchases/ the limited amount of lives / the fact that you have to make a purchase to stop ads from randomly popping up / the extremely low amount of coins you get from watching an ad and being limited to watch 10 a days / The fact that you can’t untoggle enhance pickaxe power up / The daily missions rewards and hero cages found while digging can give you duplicate shard of heroes you already own which result in gaining nothing. As of September 4th 2020 they release a minor fix update that basically moved your power up icons from bottom right to bottom left which translate to people being left handed randomly hitting those icons, wasting their effect. They’re only trying to encourage people to buy more of them since they didn’t even implement ANY OPTION to revert the change back or to switch the icons to left/right at will. Trying to squeeze the extra $ wherever they can with each update. This is outrageous for a game with that many in-app purchases to not offer the bare minimum of customization to their customers..Version: 2.16.0

✓ Not bad for a F2P, but bugs detractIt’s not bad for a free to play. Of course there is a constant drumbeat of GIVE US MONEY GIVE US MONEY, but you can generally ignore them. Some F2Ps sharply ramp the difficulty so you can’t advance without paying, but Dig Out is challenging without being impossible. However there are sound bugs that make it annoying as hell: the ghost noise continues and adds relentlessly, to the point I need to turn off sounds entirely sometimes it ignores the “sound off” setting and sounds start anyway Some improvements I would love: keyboard or controller support – I’d happily hook up a Bluetooth keyboard or PS4 controller so I could react at the speed the game really needs Auto skip cutscenes! Please! I don’t care! In general - I’ve downloaded several F2Ps and delete them right away, but this one I have continued playing. It deserves 5 stars, if you can overlook the sketchy fact that the devs apparently added some cosmetic upgrades, then repackaged the whole thing as something entirely new; which is to say, Restore Purchases doesn’t work. The game is fundamentally the same as it was when it was released a year or two ago (which, again, was great). The “update” (although I hesitate to call it that, since a mere update would retain my many in-app purchases) adds only a “home base” that can be “rebuilt” via a perfectly functional new quest system. Nothing mind-blowing, but nothing to nitpick either. The only flaw I can, in good conscience, call them out on is that sketchy Restore Purchases issue..Version: 2.16.0
✓ Fun but with annoying ad glitchesPlease do something about the ad glitch issues - it’s super frustrating as ads pop up randomly during play. I love this game and will continue to play ONLY if these glitches are sorted. I would love to give this a higher rating however unfortunately, this game isn’t worth a 5 star rating until these issues are resolved and normal play continues. ✓ Lag is unbearableI’ve tried playing in airplane mode, and keeping all other apps off while playing, but the game lags while you’re playing and it makes movement undoable. I’ve had to restart multiple levels and it’s so frustrating because you do the same things you know are right, but the game lags and your guy will stop moving completely, and then you fail. ✓ Change the name to Hunt for energyGame balance has been ruined. You should change the name from Dig Out to Hunt the energy gem before you break your pickaxe because that is all I can do now! The game is now just a grind and has lost its fun. I’ve cleared all the Kings. But now I struggle to get to mine level 100 having previously reached level 300 due to not enough energy gems and the 2 points of axe health deducted from level 1 of the mine. Also, completing quests is difficult when the items simply are not there. I’ve played for an hour straight and used up all 5 lives and not seen a single totem. Advancement is almost nonexistent now due to axe breaking so often. Not to mention the ghosts that spawn on top of you from no where! I think it’s time to delete this game especially after losing my old pickaxe and getting diddly squat compensation for it. A shame for what was such a good game for so many years..Version: 2.7.0

✓ Almost goodAnnoyingly I love this game. So addictive and fun to play BUT..... 1) collecting rare and epic crates for some reason doesn't do anything. As in, I get nothing from them at all. 2) often the game crashes at important times like when purchasing a crate. The game crashes and the thing you got from the chest has disappeared. 3) more annoying the the other two is, when you kill a ghost using an energy gem, there is a glitch that means the now invisible ghost can kill you. If you use coins to respawn you die immediately again from this invisible-glitch-ghost. So at this point there is no way of continuing as you are stuck in a respawn and get killed by an invisible ghost loop. Very frustrating when you have played for a long time and managed to get to great depths. ✓ Newest update has issuesI really like the game but the latest update has introduced some inconsistencies. First, as was mentioned in another review, I’ve noticed that dropping stuff on skeletons only kills them about half the time. Also skeletons always moves into the space they were moving to (whether they die or not). As a result I’ve been killed several time in the fraction of a second that it takes for their death to take effect. My second issue is that ads have started displaying again. I’ve made purchases and in the previous versions I got no ads. Even on the ‘free chest’ after you die. But I am once again getting ads. I tried using the restore purchases, hoping that it was just a flag that got wiped by the update, but they are still displaying. I find that very disappointing. I’m hope these problems are corrected soon so I can once again raise my rating to a 5 star as this is a great game to play when you only have a short time and don’t want something too complicated..Version: 2.10.1

The music was different in each level too. The focus then was digging as deep as you can. ✓ Was a 5 star gameThe version before the update was actually more fun when it came to the missions of collecting gems, destroying spikes or killing spiders and bats. When you finished a mission, you would collect your coins and automatically move to the next mission. Now since the update, any missions you complete need to be saved at the checkpoint before you can get another mission. And if you get killed before you can find a checkpoint, you lose all the progress you just completed and have to redo the entire mission. Also the cost of continuing a play after you have been killed has increased to the point where it takes your collected coins instead of the tokens and now I don’t like continuing the play due to trying to save my coins. The update has been good for everything else. I’m teetering on the thought of uninstalling because it gets so frustrating when you play multiple games and finally completing the mission but just to get killed and not collecting the reward before finding a check point. This game has lost a lot of its fun since last update. If the developers can change that, I will come back and rate 5 stars..Version: 2.6.0
✓ Fun but one major glitchThis game is pretty fun and addicting. The only problem I have though is kind of a big one...just about every other time I start a new round an ad pops up, which is fine on its own...a little annoying but I can deal with it. However, once the ad is done, I get kicked back to the top and lose a life. EVERY. TIME. it wouldn’t be such a big deal if I didn’t have to wait 30 minutes per life. It would make a lot more sense to have the ads pop up when you die than right when you start. ✓ Tedious and buggyI’ve only been playing this game for a short while, (I believe I got it a week or so before the latest update) but the game somehow managed to go from a fun time-waster to a buggy, unpolished, pay-to-win mess in that short a timeframe. Even putting all the questionable new mechanics in the new update aside, the game has gotten much buggier. From the in-game physics deciding to take a day off to randomly dying to invisible spiders, the game miraculously manages to break itself in a new way every time I play it. I don’t think that I need to go into detail on why the new checkpoint system is stupid- enough people have already done that for me- so I’ll just leave it at this. This game is not fun. ✓ Disappointing updateI have been playing this game for a few years now, and I have loved it from the beginning, one of the few games I considered a staple. When the game updated and included lives I accepted it because I loved the fact that I could now achieve multiple key goals in one game. I have always tried to see the positives in every update. I’m really struggling with this one. Now I play the game and end up frustrated because if I die without finding the checkpoint I lose everything I have achieved, and even worse without finding the checkpoint, I’m back to only being able to achieve one goal at a time. What is the point of adding extra lives if you are going to make each life mean less? The point of it is, they want to make money. And I am all for spending a little money on a game that I enjoy. ✓ Senseless money grab wrecked gameThis was my go to game for longer then I can remember. I’d dig, I’d unlocked most characters. I played as Indy most games getting pick axes from snakes. But you couldn’t leave a good thing alone. The timer and lives is just plain money grabbing. ✓ Was a five star gameLoved this game and still really like it but the latest update has changed the difficulty. The first levels of the game axe hits used to cost 1 but now they can cost up to three. Down at level 300 they cost at least 10. In the events I now get no where in stronghold defence whereas before I never beat it but could at least kill some of the monsters. I hope this isn’t a way to get us to spend more? ✓ Lives.Ok, so this game is a good game, but it is a good game with many bad features. Now, don’t get me wrong, I’d prefer a good game with bad features than a bad game with good features, but these need to be fixed. First of all, the lag. The lag messes me up where anytime something/someone is moving, the game lags, usually ending up in me dying. I play on an IPhone 6, but this happens on my iPad, too. Second of all, the lives. ✓ Adds cause game lag.This game is fun and interesting, unfortunately they are so busy pushing adds onscreen on the sidebar, that it frequently causes the game to lag resulting in you messing up or losing. I find this happens roughly 5-6 times in a 15 minute playing session. I find myself constantly quitting due to frustration over the lag. I have noticed since the most recent update that in game lag has increased dramatically to where I am experiencing it every few moves which is causing massive gameplay issues. Also the watch an add feature to earn credits is now causing the game to freeze completely. I am sure all of this has to do with the advertising pop ups and videos that are imbedded. If you’re going to force ads on us, please don’t ruin the gaming experience for said ads. The result will only be me deleting this game and disregarding all games advertised..Version: 1.8.0
