OCD.app - Anxiety Mood & Sleep for Negative User Reviews

Don’t botherIf you have one of the more stigmatising ocd “themes” I wouldn’t bother with this. It spends too much time on the already over saturated theme of cleanliness and contamination which is great however I believe there is plenty out there for this kind of manifestation of ocd. Feel that by missing out the more stigmatising themes it is perpetuating the idea that we should be ashamed..Version: 2.4

Can or can’tThe app is easy to read but the focus on the can and can’t attitude is too prevalent which doesn’t jive with the theory that sometime you just have to push through things..Version: 2.3.5

Disappointed in updateThe original interface was much better. The change to pricing structure is disappointing to someone who bought the app only a few days ago. Good concept otherwise..Version: 2.0

Struggling to love thisI’ve noticed a lot more negative affirmations as opposed to the positive ones. I know they say you have to identify the negative inner voice before you can fix it but sometimes it feels like there are more negative ones. Hopefully this changes. I really do love the positive ones though..Version: 2.47

Cancel subscriptionHi I’m trying to cancel my subscription but I don’t see the option.Version: 2.3.4

HORRIBLEI downloaded this app about a month ago and I didn’t find the app particularly useful and I actually forgot that the app was even on my phone. I just spoke to Apple who told me that for subscriptions Apple is just the middleman they contact the app developer and request a refund for the customer. That being said I never used the app a day past the day I downloaded it and started the free trial. I noticed the charge on my account the day the subscription renewed, and I immediately canceled the subscription because I don’t use the app and requested a refund not only was my original request denied, I appealed the decision and it was still denied. This app is supposed to help with stress and anxiety. It is doing the exact opposite and causing me stress and anxiety because it took $63 of my money for services that I never used and refuses to return the money. DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS APPLICATION BECAUSE THEY DO NOT DO BUSINESS VERY ETHICALLY!! And I did contact your email for support ON MONDAY it’s now FRIDAY and I have received no response!!.Version: 2.8.2

Unusable and Double-chargedI already paid for a premium membership and was only half way through it when one of the updates rendered the app completely unusable - the mood tracker “ok” button is outside the screen and not clickable/scroll is not working. Working with the tech support person I tried to remove and re-install the app but once I logged in it charged me for another year effectively double charging me and the same bug was still there so now I paid twice for a product I cannot use. Refund is not available in the App Store and the team is not responding so I’m at a loss. So disappointing as I previously found this app so helpful..Version: 2.8.1

Loved the levels, the update is okayThe update made it look nicer but it took away so many of the OCD levels. Now, there’s only 7 OCD levels (the first one is an assessment so 6 really) and the rest you need to pay for. They added more levels for depression, body image etc. But I loved this app specifically for OCD. It helped me so much but now I can’t access those levels anymore..Version: 2.0

Good for life eventsBought the app as I wanted to use this as support thru a traumatic life transition. been using it for 3 months, daily. It helps. It took me a couple of months to tackle certain modules… it’s solid. It just started glitching a couple of weeks ago. The mood tracker doesn’t track the correct dates , skip days, that feature supported in processing this could be comical in an OCD app - except I paid for a year of this which sucks..Version: 2.57

Not SatisfiedI have a few self help apps such as bloom and calm but I decided to try this one as it has a 7 day trial. I used it once and didn’t enjoy the formatting as it was a bit slow and the graphics/text bubbles felt outdated. I however forgot to unsubscribe and was charged for a full year costing me $117. I emailed the company the day the payment went through to let them know I was more than happy to pay for one week but will not be using it and would like a refund of the remaining balance. This was over a month ago now with no response and no other way to contact them..Version: 2.57

A joke?Seriously how is this a real app? How are they allowed to charge the amount they do for what is, as far as i can tell, just flashing statements on the screen and forcing you to decide if they’re “good” or “bad”??? Refund was refused, completely pathetic.Version: 2.7.5

Ongoing tech issuesI cannot delete some of the ‘ journeys’ on the OCD app which are inappropriate ie parenting and relationship OCD, I have messaged the company a few weeks back for help with this but had no reply as yet I have been unable to get new exercises on the aspects I paid over £50 to get help with 😩 There’s also a number of spelling mistakes on the app.Version: 2.2.2

No pointNot worth your money.Version: 2.54

InaccessibleThis app is brilliant but inaccessible due to being extremely expensive. Such a shame - reducing costs would help more people and broaden your demographic and the potentiality for saving lives..Version: 2.42

Looks like a great app but they have made it unaffordableLooks liken a great app but they have made it unaffordable.. For those suffering anxiety and depression we often don’t leave out home nor are able to hold down a job.. asking for double the amount of you can’t afford the yearly fee which is very expensive is just cruel.. sad.. you could have helped lots of people but chose the $$$ instead...Version: 2.2.4

The opposite of helpfulThis app was totally unhelpful to me and in fact worsened my symptoms. Even though they say you only need to do it 3 mins/day, they give you a whole bunch of levels to do at once and encourage you to keep going. It’s not totally clear when you’ve finished your daily tasks, and for those of us who don’t like leaving things unfinished or incomplete, this is not helpful. It’s also just too much screen time to be useful. In addition, they force you to sign up for a subscription when you first open the app. They do give you a 7 day trial, but they don’t bother mentioning this in the app description. I’m canceling the membership they forced me to sign up for and deleting this app..Version: 2.48

Born a freak? As much as I appreciate the sentiment of this application, it does not account for the nuances of thoughts. I used the app for less than five minutes and was asked whether or not to throw out the thought, “I was born a freak.” Context: I am a circus artist 😂 I like the idea of having been born a freak, thank you very much! That idea of being on the path I am supposed to be on. It wouldn’t let me disagree and move on to the next phrase. I was supposed to just comply. I’ve deleted the app. Shame, it had such potential..Version: 2.42

BoringThis is rubbish tbh dont see why anyone would pay.Version: 2.2.4

RIDICULOUSAutomatically subscribed to A YEAR, not a month.. A YEAR. Thieves. Helping with mental health? Yeah right..Version: 2.3.5

StuckThis gets stuck on the personalisation screen - it just keeps repeating the smiley faces..Version: 1.7

Ok but not helpful enough for changeI’ve been using this app near daily for months and can’t say that it’s improved my well-being. Had it been cheaper I’d probably not write a review, but at the cost I paid for it that adds to the disappointment..Version: 2.6.1

Great but...I have pretty bad OCD, so I thought I’d give this app a try. At first I really liked it, and I still do. But when I went to take the first assessment test, the questions didn’t seem to fit my phone screen.(If that makes much sense.) The screen almost seemed to be too big, and I was unable to choose an answer..Version: 2.2.2

Utterly pointlessIt simply tells you what are positive thoughts and what are negative ones (as though we are all too stupid to work that out). No help or advice or guidance to deal with those negative thoughts. Utter utter rubbish..Version: 2.3.3

Good idea but too simpleConstant swiping statements up or down doesn’t really make me feel any different. I feel like more creativity could have gone into creating the tasks. I would expect this to be a free app considering the simplicity of the tasks..Version: 2.2.2

Internet connection problemsGood app but only seems to work when I have Wi-Fi.Version: 2.54

I get it but..… you literally just swipe a sentence into accepting the sentence and rejecting. And you cannot choose. There may be a negative one u can’t simply just ignore and swiping it up does absolutely nothing? I thought this app was going to give information and advice on how to help with ocd and things you can physically do and tell yourself to stop yourself from doing them. But it’s like swiping sentences up and down. That’s literally it..Version: 2.2.7

Very buggy, almost no free optionsChanging my 4star review from last year. The app is now so bugged that it can crash without warning, and so much of the text is filled with mistakes making parts are difficult to understand. I had a favourable review of this app earlier, and it helped me with my mental health issues, but I’ve lost trust in this app now that they’ve removed almost all of the free content. I’ve even been a subscriber in the past, but the issues with the app and the text became so frequent that it felt like a waste of money. I never write reviews but I feel slighted by my experience using the app. It was helpful at first but now is almost unusable..Version: 2.6.5

DisappointedVery disappointed with this app Uninstalled after 2 mins. It’s not helping You can do better guys.Version: 2.3.5

Won’t go past the first screenIPhone 6s you can’t get past the “what is your mindset” screen. It would be nice if they just eliminated it and you can jump straight into the levels. I love the app when it works, but it is extremely frustrating that when I want to use it I can’t. They said an update will be out to fix it, but that has yet to happen unfortunately..Version: 2.2.6

PseudoscienceIf you’re looking for positive affirmations, this app is for you. If you actually suffer from OCD, I’m not sure how much this app will help, despite its claims to be “evidence-based”. Side note: Grammatical errors significantly reduce the app’s credibility..Version: 2.6.4

Not a solution to OCDAffirmations might make you feel better in the short term, but it doesn’t teach you the skills needed to stop doing compulsions and start living your life, despite intrusive thoughts & feelings. I suggest ACT & ERP to overcome OCD..Version: 2.54

Room for improvementI love the idea of this app. I would suggest proofreading some of the grammar as this would improve overall credibility. I’d also love to be able to choose my “candle lighting statement”..Version: 2.3.5

That was RudeMake sure to read fine print, folks. I was using this to help with my OCD, which has been getting worse recently. It’s actually been helping over the past few days! It made the holidays easier. But... finding out I would have to pay for the rest was a real heart breaker. I wish that was clearer. And using this app had been added to my daily routine so now I have to undo part of my routine... which, as someone with OCD, is stressful..Version: 1.4

WAY TOO EXPENSIVE!DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY ON THIS APP! APP DEVELOPERS SHOULD DISCLOSE THAT IT IS NOT FREE BEFORE YOU ENTER ALL YOUR INFORMATION! WHAT A JOKE!!!.Version: 2.56

Ok, but overpricedThis app is mainly focused on a short daily practice of embracing or discarding affirmation statements. The principle feels very basic but I believe it to be an effective supplementary resource to other tools and OCD interventions. I don’t believe it’s worth £70 p/year though & the option of a permanent access is not actually given. There are other apps that offer greater value for less..Version: 2.7.1

No longer affordable, all the modules require upgradeI LOVED this app and recommended to everyone I know. I did all the modules until I upgraded to the 14.99 a month it was so good. Eventually I couldn't afford it anymore so I decided to redo the free modules again. Since the upgrade there's way fewer free modules, to the point where the app isn't useable. And it costs 25.99 a month. I've never left a review before but I think it's awful that the creators made an app that was so useful and backed by evidence completely inaccessible for those who need it most..Version: 2.6

GlitchesLove the concept but there are so many glitches that I have to close the app and open it every time I use it. (And ‘Accept’ should be at the top, not the bottom.).Version: 2.2.7

Too expensiveI agree with other reviewers comments about the cost. It’s too expensive for me. The App Store description says 50 “free” exercises but when I downloaded it, I wasn’t able to access anything for free I had to agree to a 7 day trial and a subscription after that before I could begin using the app, this is a classic “subscription trap” and that seems so incongruent with the purpose of the app. I guess it’s the developers property and they can do whatever they like with it but I would have thought making it cheaper would just increase the number of users, it wouldn’t affect the overall profits ?.Version: 2.7.3

Odd but usefulThe interface/UX is odd and I can’t fully get into the swiping as therapy but the statements it is designed to help you absorb are genuinely powerful I think. Oddly insightful, seems like it could help with a number of conditions/situations. Not even sure how it’s useful for OCD but 🤷🏼‍♀️ I appreciate it.Version: 2.6.8

You will NOT be able to cancel subscriptionI’ve been trying to get someone from this company to cancel my subscription for months. Each time they tell me to go to my subscriptions on my phone. It doesn’t give me to option to unsubscribe there & they are basically like “oh well”. Customer service is non existent. Buy beware..Version: 2.6
