ITarget Pro for Positive User Reviews

Good but needs workIt really is a good dry fire tool. Mine is perfectly accurate (only tried up to 20 ft) with a clamped gun on a bench. 3 observations that could improve it in my opinion. It could be easier to line up the target. My iPhone 6 barely holds in place with the target in frame. It could also hold your score on the screen a little bit longer before removing it. I can barely make out what it says before it is removed. The lines on the target could also be darker because I can barely see them at 10 feet. But still a lot of fun and good for muscle memory..Version: 1.6.10

Great app so far!!Tried this app for the first time today and all I can say is it works great, for free you can’t beat this. Here is what I found out. First watch the little video on how to set it up once you do that it works as advertised. I can see I’m going to get the holder and try the Quick Draw..Version: 1.6.10

Excellent way to practiceIphone 7. Had some issues getting used to how it is set up, but once I figured it out it works great. Seeing some negative comments/reviews here I could say the only one which I would sympathize with is making the holes less "ragged", and smaller, perhaps, but that would not be enough to downgrade to 4 stars. Friend has a Laserlyte system he paid almost 3x as much for, and it doesn't give you a record of how you performed. If you are considering a laser system, get this one -- the whole system costs less than the Laserlyte Bullet. Sometimes you pay less and get more..Version: 1.6.10

Works Great just need to properly set up.I was actually having the same issues when I first got it a lot post on here.. shots not registering, issues with lighting conditions, ghost shots registering. This is the response I received and if you follow these steps you will have no issues. Main thing being to zoom in on target so the only thing in the picture is the target! From Developer - 1) Make sure the phone camera is not seeing off of the target plate and is only seeing the target image. Anything in the background could be interfering with the shot detection. 2) Make sure the light on the target plate is an even light. No bright areas and shadows on the target plate at the same time. Make sure the room has normal lighting and is not too dark. Don't use it directly under overhead lights. 3) Make sure there is no reddish light illuminating the target. The app responds to the color red. 4) Press the wrench image to go to settings. This is the main screen for adjusting the sensitivity. If you see any white showing up here, that area is being detected as a hit and your laser won't be. Raise or lower the sensitivity to eliminate any white. Ideally, you want to raise the sensitivity as much as possible without introducing the white noise. Take the laser in your hand and shine it at the target plate. The laser should show up as a white hit and everything else should be black. After I adjusted these things, zero issues..Version: 1.6.10

App works great with system, but would like to see more featuresThe app works pretty seamlessly with the iTarget Pro system. Very happy with the ability to dry fire train with a purpose. The 3 different modes are nice, but it would be nice to see the app expand a bit. One suggestion is to allow the ability to set up more than one user for shooting games and competitions. Very nice system as it is, though. Worth the money for the system..Version: 2.0.9

Makes dry fire practice more funAs a police officer and shooter l dry fire pretty regularly. My dad got me this for Christmas today and I had it dialed in within ten minutes, easy to use. My dad had a single/double action beretta which makes it a little more fun because then you don’t have to rack the slide every shot. But for real practicing drawing my duty Glock from the holster and picking up the sights and seeing where I’m hitting is awesome! Also he got the 223 insert was fun as well..Version: 1.6.10

Awesome!This app is great!!!.Version: 1.6.10

Great tool for practiceThis will pay for itself the first few times you use it. Easy to setup. Accurate recording of where shots hit. Laser cartridge is actually very durable and well made. That was my concern ‘in a kit’ but I am glad I got the whole package. Its definitely better made than the cartridge I had. Not thru all capabilities yet but impressed so far. Nicely done. Would give it 5 stars if the phone wasn’t a bit in the way of target without standing off to the side but a minor nit..Version: 2.0.2

I’m hated it, before I loved itWhen I first set up itargetpro I was getting false ghost shots. It would just go off. I tried everything but couldn’t get it to stop ghost shooting. I assumed it was just another crappy product. I then reinstalled the app and it worked and continues to work perfectly. I have zeroed in all my green lasers at 20’. Dead on!! It would have took me forever and been such a hassle at the range but it was so easy with this tool. I love this product..Version: 1.6.10

Good deal •Beginner or AdvancedI’m in a condo 20x40 so with a long hallway I can set my target at a tape measured 30 ft / Works perfect after a little setting / 1st thing that helped me tremendously was my led lighting with a dimmer as I could adjust lighting perfect / had it for 2 days and my arms are killing me / SO SO much fun and you learn at the same time / I put 1873 rounds on target /Its helping my finger control 100% /only negative is they should have made the Target double sided with the silhouette and offered it as and option /.Version: 1.6.10

Love it!I’ve had the iTarget Pro system for a couple weeks now and I’m loving it so far. As far as I know, this is the best training system of its kind. I’m already able to see an improvement in my trigger control, accuracy and confidence in my EDC. Setting the proper light sensitivity is crucial for accurate scoring but even slight lighting changes caused by moving shadows and other factors can cause false hits. Adjusting sensitivity, however, is very easy and is a non-issue. I opted to upgrade to the paid version for the Quick Draw feature. I love this! I enjoy challenging myself to get faster and more accurate. After each shot set, the app displays your cumulative score, but one feature that’s missing is an average time for each shot. Please consider adding this feature on the next update. Looking forward to seeing the High Score feature implemented as well..Version: 1.6.10

Bill from SpartanburgOrdered this product and it arrived in mere days. Set up was super easy and worked flawlessly with iPhone 8. Spent the extra $4.99 for the QuickDraw shot timer. It works great too. Notice the number of positive reviews vs. negative. I’m not denying some folks may have been disappointed but the greater number of responses are positive and rightly so. Terrific product especially for the price point. Have used on my Sig Sauer 225A1 as well as my Sig P365. Might even give it a go with a Ruger PC9 Carbine outdoors just to see what happens. I’ll post result later. Hope I do as well when next at the range as I did using iTarget Dryfire System👍 -B.Version: 1.6.10

Excellent training toolI’ve had this for about a year and so far it works great. There are times that you have to tweak the settings and adjust the sensitivity so false hits don’t register but that’s not that difficult. I do place a piece of cardboard behind the target and this cut down the false hits by 95%. If your looking to train at home this might be what your looking for..Version: 1.6.10

Works better than expectedI bought this system to let me practice from home without cost of ammo. Wasn’t sure what I was expecting but this met my expectations and more. Easy to set up. Worked perfectly out of the box. Printed extra targets. I now practice daily along with a monthly trip to the gun range. Highly recommend.Version: 2.0.9

Great AppI’ve been using the app for couple of years now. It took couple of tries to get the right calibration/setting but soon as I got it, works perfect. Have tried other apps but for me, this one works the best. Hopefully in the next update I’ll be able to enter notes. 👍🏼😎🤟🏼.Version: 2.0.11.1

Excellent system! This system allowed me to become a better shooter for sure. It doesn’t simulate live fire and the way you react to recoil but it helps in other ways that are essential to better shooting in my opinion. 1. Improved my hand eye coordination 2. Improved my aiming 3. Improved my shot grouping 4. Taught me good trigger pull and hand control because I would always see how much the laser jolted every time I pulled the trigger 5. Taught me fast target acquisition using the “quick draw” mode. 6. Saved me bullets at the range practicing techniques I didn’t need to use live ammunition for. Anyway just want to show my support for this app/system and I’d like to see the developer continue to make improvements to the app. Couple of constructive suggestions I’d like to see implemented in future updates: 1. In quick draw, highlight the bullet hole that corresponds to shot # taken. 2. Be able to change the shape and/or size of the bullet mark when a shot is registered..Version: 1.6.10

Read Instructions!I literally only have the app. I use my own laser, printed target and stand. If people would actually learn how to calibrate it and make sure their laser is bright enough to register you won't have an issue. Setup takes a little time, but once you're done it's game on. Love the timer too so I can practice draw..Version: 1.6.10

Great system for the moneyI heard about this system on a podcast so I checked it out. Looked like it would work and was substantially less expensive than the high end trainers. Got it today and spent a few hours with it. Although it’s not perfect, I doubt it can be beat for the cost which is why I’m giving it 5 stars. In my living room, there are 6 can lights and the target reflects those pretty easily so I had a few tries to get the settings right to stop the fake hits, however, I was able to adjust it out and spent an hour or so working with it. My groups weren’t bad to start but in that short time, I was able to really separate trigger movement from barrel movement and improve. I moved it to a few rooms with other types of lights and had no fake hit problems, so I’m fairly certain the bright spot directly under one of the can lights was the reason for my initial adjustment needs and would likely be a worst case scenario. The adjustments for my iPhone 6 in the cradle were also not perfect but did work with a little fine tuning. Also, with a little tinkering to get the wires to get to the phone, I think I can hook my phone via HDMI and put the screen up on the TV so that I can see the display from far away. This will make a great training tool for the off season and I like it so much I just bought one for my father for Christmas..Version: 1.6.10

Nice systemI have used my system several times now. The laser cartridge works perfectly, the sled/base only needing a phone holder with more adjustment to be perfect as well. My 8+ fits without its case but not with, I actually have a phone (selfie) holder I’m using instead of the base. As for the app, it took a few minutes to get the settings where I needed, as well as the indoor lighting. Definitely don’t have it under direct light or it will start scoring based on that. So take a few mins to get it set correctly and it should be fine. But once i had the settings and surroundings set, the rest went as expected. With the high cost and low availability of ammo (and limited range access at times) this system will pay for itself soon enough. And it can be fun to get back to practicing, including being able to work on more than ranges often allow. So for now i’d give it 4 stars (close to 5), for me it was definitely worth getting..Version: 1.6.10

Big ImprovementsThe developers have made some big improvements and feature upgrades over that last few months, making the app much more useful for effective dry fire practice. The Quick Draw and High Score in-app purchases are also great and add even more challenge to practice sessions..Version: 2.0.3

Works grate if you buy the Phone/target mounting slide. This system works very well if you buy the phone/target sled. The system works very well with iTarget training laser in your fire arm. I would think a training laser of a different brand would work just fine. I just bought the whole kit from target pro. I am looking forward to additional options in future versions. Best quality dry fire laser training for the money in my opinion..Version: 1.6.10

Great app. Would benefit from a PAR timer.I like this app, and use it most frequently on my iPad. When using the native iPhone version on the iPad mounted horizontally, it's important to lock the screen in a vertical orientation before using. Otherwise the camera image gets all wonky. Also, this app could really benefit from a PAR timer. Seems to be the only thing missing..Version: 1.6.10

Great tool for dry fore practiceI started using the free app with a laser I already owned and mounted my iPhone on a homemade stand. I was so impressed that I purchased the second version when it was available and then one of the iTarget laser billets in another caliber. It does take some effort to adjust the sensitivity for varying light conditions but it has never failed to work once I got the adjustment correct. A lot of benefit for very little cost..Version: 1.6.10

Great Training AppI saw this talk about on an internet site. I looked for reviews and found most very good. I purchased the iTarget Pro and the add on purchase then downloaded the app. After viewing the instruction video and a little practice I got it set-up. I love it!! It has helped my grip to control the gun, my trigger pull and my site picture. Outstanding value and the company was right back to me to answer my question. Thanks for a great and fun product!!.Version: 1.6.10

Great app!Other reviews claiming this app is inaccurate have either not calibrated the target zone properly, or are firing the laser in a well-lit area (both of which drastically affect the shot recording accuracy). I use this app indoors with a 9mm CZ Shadow 2 for IPSC training and it's invaluable. Once set up correctly, this app will help you record accurate shots and time your draw speed. To the app developers: is there any possibility of adding UPSA/IPSC targets? Overall, very pleased with this app and highly recommend it for people who dry fire..Version: 1.6.10

ExcellentI have been working on the penny and pencil drills which didn't provide great feedback and weren't fun. The iTarget is great! Using a Glock 19/9mm, indoor practice, and the setup was really quick with no hassles. Excellent experience. Will update review as I try different environments and distances. Updated 9/28 - excellent still!.Version: 1.6.10

Great practice!I have really enjoyed this app and target system. It takes a bit to set up properly but once set up it is accurate. I also bought the quick draw in app game and can’t wait til they release the third game!.Version: 1.6.10

It worksThe app itself is pretty basic. It it works well. Only issue I've had is with the stock glossy target, if I have a light on behind me that shines on the target, the glare will register false hits. I printed out the target on regular printer paper and it's much better, I prefer the colored center anyways. The system itself is why the 5 stars. It's a great and affordable way to practice and makes dry fire practice much more fun and beneficial..Version: 1.6.10

Much better after updateLOVE this app! Safe and fun way to dry fire at home! Would give five stars, but I’d say the app only registers about 95% of my shots. Not bad, but hard to keep accurate data when shots don’t show up. GREAT alternative to going to a gun range, especially with ammo being so scarce..Version: 2.0.0

Major improvement.I have used this tool for the past few months. My ability to get on target is extremely improved. I wish I could show you my before and after pictures. My last trip to range I did what I though was impossible for my skill level. Shooting 10 shots in 10 seconds --- all but 4 in 150 shots was within 4" of center at 25 feet. I use the target and laser by sitting in my sofa at home and shooting. 10 or 20 shots a couple of times a day. The issues about the feature of the app and the multi fire problem can be solved or ignored ( shoot in darker area) Remember the goal. To improve your shooting. In that regard IT WORKS. Now I can practice shooting without my glasses, with my other hand etc. dry file is the way to go and I've found that itargetpro is the best choice..Version: 1.6.10

ITarget ProGot to play with my iTarget Pro today. Very impressed! I used it inside and it worked perfectly with default settings. At the price, it’s just a little more than one trip to the range, and no cleanup afterwards! I like that you can practice from different positions and real world environments that you can’t do at the range. Great for practicing accuracy and trigger control. It will also be useful for introducing the basics of handling a firearm (aiming/using sights, trigger control, etc.) to new shooters prior to taking them to a range for live fire. Additional lasers are a bit pricey though..Version: 1.6.10

Great App.App works very well indoors in different lighting conditions. Still waiting on my training 9mm laser cartridge but have been testing feedback with a digital laser thermometer with great results. Read the other review saying that screenshots are not recorded. I just live capture/video my session and pick out of this what I prefer. Cheers.Version: 1.6.10

Fun and practicalI'm having fun with both my 45 ACP and my AR 15. On a serious note I had a red dot that was way out as it was delivered. Last trip to the range I went through 2 clips and still it was not correct. Set up in my garage with your product and 11 shots later I put the next six in the #10. So its very practical as well. If you could only give some kick back you might put the ammo folks out of business 😁.Version: 2.0.9

Back porch training! Perfect!I have a 8-shot 357 so it was an expensive investment to buy 7 additional laser cartridges but now my whole family can practice between range visits on the back porch with ease. I have mine setup on a camera tripod so I can practice on different height perps. I am thinking about getting multiple sleds and phones so that I can set up a “course” with multiple perps in the back yard. With this system, I’ve reduced my draw-fire-bullseye down to under 2 seconds. Much improved over my initial times. Highly recommend!.Version: 1.6.10

Excellent tool for practicing dry fireTheir are a lot of benefits to dry firing, but the immediate feedback can be lacking. This tool along with the app has provided immediate feedback and assisted either trigger control. Just like with all dry firing, there is no kick; however, for practice with your own weapon, this is an excellent tool. I also recommend the quick fire addition to the app as it provides a timed tool when drawing from concealment. I highly recommend this app along with the iTargt Pro sled..Version: 1.6.10

Super easy!I’m just a regular gal who wants to be protected. Single mom, demanding job- so very little opportunity to go to the shooting range to practice. This seemed like a great idea! It took me 10 minutes to set up, adjust sensitivity and light, and away we go. The only issue I had was with the phone cradle. It slips a little as the phone needed a slight tilt forward. Otherwise, this set up is great! I love that o can practice at home when I have time. I don’t have to spend money on ammo. Thank you for this!!!!.Version: 1.6.10

Spinning WheelSuper excited for this version to release! Download & installed just fine... spinning wheel on "purchase now". Back to the first version till the bugs are fixed. -- Was able to purchase!!.Version: 1.6.10

Amazing systemA great training tool especially with ammo shortage and pricing Really fun my wife is even enjoying it as well as myself training with my conceal carry pistol Thanks for making a good product.Version: 2.0.9

Works really wellSo I just got the set up yesterday and messed around with it for an hour. I started in the living room with relatively low light since my wife was watching tv. No real issues with false readings. Main issue with accuracy was due to movement on my part when depressing the trigger. It actually was nice to visually see how much movement I had when firing. After a few shots I was seeing less and less movement of the laser and more accurate readings. After a few minutes my wife wanted to try it out but she wanted more light on so she could see the target rings more clearly. I turned on the overhead fan light and started getting false readings from the reflection on the target. After maybe 2 min tops of adjustments, it was working perfectly again. Only issue then was after I pushed the start button my shadow went over the target and I got a false reading. I just needed to watch where my shadow was as I backed away. Having a 5 sec starter delay for you to get into position would solve that issue. Overall I give it 5 stars. It was fun, informative, and easy to troubleshoot when the lighting changed and false readings showed up. An app like this will require some fine tuning on the user end before it works perfectly so I would recommend this system to everyone. Thanks..Version: 1.6.10

Please fix! Don’t need to hear the gunshotsI love this app, and have gotten into the habit of practicing my dry-firing all day whenever I have a spare moment. My only complaint is that you can’t disable the sound! I don’t need to hear a gunshot, I’m practicing dry firing. What I really want is to be able to listen to my music and use the app at the same time, but if I have music running the app pauses the music to mimic a gunshot sound. If this can be fixed I’ll amend my rating to 5 stars!.Version: 1.6.10

SuggestionOverall I like the iTarget system but I wish there was a way to make the size of the score larger. I like to practice from 15’ to 20’ away and from that distance I can’t see my last shot’s score..Version: 1.6.10

A fantastic dry fire training tool! Before iTargetPro my live fire groupings were 2-3 inches (essentially tactical accuracy) at 24 feet. Two months of dry fire training with iTargetPro and now my live fire groupings are one inch or less at 24 feet. I've gained experience on trigger control, proper grip of my firearm, acquiring a sight picture, understand flash sight picture, firing from close range, acquiring sight picture with both eyes opened, and so much more. A total of 4,383 rounds of laser fire over a two month dry fire training period saved me $1739 dollars of live fire .45ACP ammunition cost. Bottom line, could I have done the same with live fire training? Yes, but it would have cost me $1739 dollars to gain the same experience. Highly recommended product for anyone wanting to improve his or her firearm training..Version: 1.6.10

Great systemIt’s not perfect, I’ve had some false hits and some times when a hit looked different than how it was registered in the app. My iPhone 6+ in an Otter Box style case is as big as will fit in the cradle but it does fit and work. The price is great compared to other training systems, you’re learning on your own firearm, no reloading mags, no cost of ammo (I’ve already dry fired well over the cost of the iTarget system.), and no cleaning after a session with the iTarget. I had an issue that needed support and got a great response! Thanks to iTarget my groups have gotten much better..Version: 1.6.10
