✓ Got the “Pro” version and wish I didn’tI’ve had this app a long time using the free edition. It got the job done but it’s cumbersome going back and forth between the game and calculator to check IVs. The calculator also frequently crashes when doing this. I thought the paid version would make it a lot easier, but it’s just somewhat helpful as I still need to frequently go back to the app to enter an appraisal for an accurate IV. Sometimes the banners popping up are just super annoying and actually get in the way. I know I can turn it off, but the point of the paid version was to check IVs more quickly. I thought the newly introduced keyboard IV was super helpful and it eliminated having to go back and forth, but now that they’re asking for yet another $4 for an app I have already paid for, I think I’m going to look for a different calculator. It’s fine if you use this app on the free version, but I don’t suggest paying for anything because it’s not much different and you’ll end up having to pay more again. Not worth it..Version: 5.0.1
✓ Raid hosting frustrationThis app has great features, however one big flaw.. Don’t waste your time trying to host a raid with this app. 7 attempts and 45 mins later I finally managed to wrangle a lobby of competent players to make it the whole way into joining the raid. Definite need for tweaking things to make it more successful when hosting..Version: 8.1.1
✓ Great app, BUTIt is really annoying that you can only change your name once a month. I changed my trainer name, and then when I changed it in the app, I misspelled it. Now I can’t fix it for a month, which means I will likely be reported for my name not matching. You used to be able to change your name as often as you wanted. I would be willing to pay a one time fee to go back to that version. Since they changed to the “once a month” name change, I have often hosted raids where people’s names don’t match, so then I can’t find them in my friend list… that makes hosting a real pita, and then I get reported for not inviting them, when the reason I didn’t is because their name didn’t match and I can’t find them. If the app would just let people change their names whenever, I could join raids with my actual new name and not get reported for the misspelling AND people hosting could avoid a lot of unnecessary crap because they could actually find the players who joined. I hesitate to host anymore because I’ve had multiple people whose names didn’t match report me for not inviting them, which is true bc their names weren’t even similar and I could not find them on my list. And since the app doesn’t know that their names didn’t match til after the raid, I have to go into five star raids with fewer players. It makes for a frustrating experience..Version: 8.3.1
✓ Raid SystemThe raid system they have set up is amazing, but their new update they did to it really limited people for 5 star and mega raids. I am referring to the damage percentage. I don’t like how even if you are at 19% of the damage you don’t even get the chase to join those raids. My friends are not happy about it either. Don’t get me wrong I understand what they did and how it balances the raids, but you aren’t given any slack..Version: 7.4.2
✓ Did like the appWas an excellent app, absolutely loved it as I only used it for raids. But now with the 20% damage contribution needed to even queue for a 5star and even a mega raid, it’s now unlikely a casual player with Pokémon that aren’t extremely high levelled to even be able to participate. Better not be a thing on legendary raid day because it’s going to upset a lot of people who only want certain legendaries just for a third party app to them they’re too weak, it’s gonna be a shame.Version: 7.4.2

✓ It was great but it’s shame what they did with contributions reqGreat app, I’ve done lots of raids with this app and got many legendary’s out of it but new contributory requirements ruin that, I’ve never got a problem with unfinished raids caused by too week team, but now can’t join certain raids cause not meeting req, what about new starters who don’t have chances to meet req? ✓ Too many abusersYou wait hours to do a raid boss just to get matched with some AH who needs to get some friend requests real quick and never actually invites you to raid. You report them as such and what does the app do? Absolutely nothing to punish them and instead punish you by making you have to rejoin the que at the very end of the line. More often than not if there’s a popular raid boss the hosts you get matched with will be a gamble. If there anything over 1k you’re better off just buying lotto tickets because the devs keep letting the same ppl pretend to host a boss and press the button that they invited everyone yet they didn’t even bother hosting the raid. Needs to be fixed because it’s an otherwise excellent app. The screen recording is a little wonky and will just end on its own without notice but that’s hardly an inconvenience compared to waiting 4-8 hours to do a raid boss just to get matched with a loser who doesn’t invite and have to reenter the line at the very end. Would be nice if they actually banned those trainer IDs but actually doing something about them is clearly too much work..Version: 7.8.1

Pls rectify it thxEver since your last update, the app has completely stopped working for me (FYI I’m using an iPhone[SE] 2020) Every time I launch to screen broadcast, it took way too long to start. And even when the broadcasts finally started, as soon as I open a PokémonGO trainer appraisal screen, the broadcast would stop altogether. with this accompanying pop-up message: “Screen Broadcasting Live Broadcast to Poke Genie IVision has stopped due to: Attempted to start an invalid broadcast session” And then, even when I open the actual Poke Genie App itself, with the current new user screen interface, the app froze too This is very frustrating I’ve always love using Poke Genie while playing PokémonGO, but if the current problem persists, I may no longer use it altogether Please kindly advise thx.Version: 7.3.1
✓ Raid systemWhat almost everyone gets this for is the raid system. The remote raids are cool and all, but it’s wildly frustrating to enter a queue of 10,000 and wait 3.5 hours to actually join a raid, just for the host to drop and me be put into a priority queue for a raid that’s already full. I wasted almost 4 hours waiting on this raid just to be told I can’t because there are too many players already and be forced to rejoin the queue of now 20,000 with absolutely nothing to help me. I even told the questionnaire on the app that I was kicked for it being too full and all I got was a “sorry. We’ll try better next time” and seemingly no customer support. I don’t want your sorry, I want another priority queue. Other times im completely unable to join because my damage contribution isn’t high enough, even though it is and other areas of the app tell me so. What a joke honestly..Version: 7.8.2

✓ Decent App (Warning - Raid Pass Thievery)This application allows for a more in-depth look at the information your would encounter, but not normally be able to visualize within the Pokémon Go game. Once you use this app, you are able to min-max your pokémon stats for best pvp and raid battle experiences. However, what the app never tells you about joining raids is how inconsistent other players are when joining and battling together in raids. Sometimes, people will not join the multi-hour long queue lobby because they fall asleep or get busy with other things. Other times, your lobby fills up with barely enough players to complete a raid, but some get cold feet and lose faith in the other players’ ability to complete the raid, resulting in a loss of raid passes. The game also sometimes allows hosting of raids after the allowed time for that pokémon’s availability, resulting in a solo raid. The matchmaking is unreliable, and if you stick with mostly all other features besides the raids, you should not have a poor experience while using this application. (This perspective is from a free-to-play standpoint, never putting a cent into either application.).Version: 7.6.4
✓ Stupid recent updatesEverything was good before but recent updates about remote raid they started to record if you left raid directly. So everytime a stupid host didn’t show up I have to wait 180 seconds!! Normally you can tell if the host gonna show up if you check the host actually added you as a friend. If there is 60 seconds left and no friend added probably the host not gonna show up. So just let me left the raid and join the next one to saving my lucky eggs time! Also. If you host the raid and someone sent you the request but forget to return back to the app. It’s still gonna show ‘ joined but not ready’. In that status you can’t start the raid to let them know okay u forgot to click that stupid button but you added me now we are good to go. Instead you have to wait for 2 mins so the system will kick that stupid guy out and waiting for a new player to join. 30 mins lucky egg I could spent 15 mins on these stupid stuff! Why the host can not just force the raid to start!!.Version: 8.0.0
✓ Good function but…The app is good and really useful if your looking for raids, you simply line up and wait but I’ve had nothing but problems hosting raids, the app blocks me for 24hrs from hosting even after a fully successful raid and with the team from the app, this makes me not host and therefore I can’t help other people out find what they need..Version: 8.2.2

✓ Very useful, but loses dataI have a large Pokémon collection, and this app helps catalogue them, especially now that it has the in-game keyboard feature. Unfortunately, it keeps your collection in a separate database on your device, as opposed to being in the cloud or on its own servers, and the database can get corrupted and lose Pokémon. For example, I have a large collection of almost 2,000 Pokémon, logged them in Poke Genie over the months, and found it only showed a bit fewer than 1,600. Thinking this may have come from a bug in an earlier version of the app, I started relogging them from the start, using the new keyboard. I relogged the Bulbasaur family a couple of weeks ago; checking today, I see it already “lost” several Venusaurs, so the problem still exists. I’m not saying Poke Genie isn’t a useful program nonetheless, but its Battle Simulator, for example, isn’t useful if it isn’t considering your whole collection because it’s managed to trash its own database entries. Until this is truly fixed, I can’t give this app the top rating its features deserve..Version: 5.1.3
✓ Spoofers ruined thisThis game does nothing to stop people from joining the lobby and not joining the raid except taking a small amount of points away. ✓ Good but not greatThe keyboard name generator is really helpful. However I had to give this app a middle of the road rating because they push notifications about raid hour commencing in Europe in the middle of the night for Asia-Pacific players and my feedback to this group about this simple enhancement opportunity was met with a Eurocentric, dismissive response. ✓ Overpriced updateBeen using this app for a long time and purchased the poke genie pro version some time back. Was very excited at the latest update that allows you to IV check your Pokemon without leaving the app. When reading through the version history it tells you about this exciting new feature but conveniently leaves out the IV check limit on the keyboard and only tells you in the app that to continue using the feature it’s going to cost you £3.99 which is the same price as the pro app version. Sorry but I see this as a total rip off. I appreciate that new abilities take the developers time to develop but when the original app has already been purchased it should be free for those people. ✓ Keyboard times out multiple times each time it is usedVery frustrating. I’ve sent three emails to the developer from within the app and in response to their own survey and haven’t heard back. I used to love this. All I use is the keyboard and renamer. I don’t like the screen recording, too resource-consuming. The keyboard, which I did pay for, barely works now on my iOS. I click the Pokémon’s name, click the earth icon, and Poké Genie sort of… thinks about maybe loading for awhile. Then it blinks off and returns me to the main keyboard. Lather, rinse, repeat. It does this until the screencap times out. Actually sometimes it seems to do better with being told to go ahead and use the stale screencap at this point. It immediately proceeds, which makes me think it’s having some sort of problem detecting the screencap rather than with reading it. I’ve deleted all my screencaps and records to clear memory and have even deleted and reinstalled the app, still the same problem. I need some help with this bug!.Version: 7.5.0

✓ No updates for CP rework...It's super disappointing that the CP rework values weren't implemented in the applications, so you either take a new screenshot of EVERY SINGLE POKEMON (1500+ in my case) if you want the new CP values to display or you aimlessly have to try and figure out which Pokémon is which and that's obviously just pure rubbish! Sure they would be in the same order as they were before but if you deleted a few, then you would manually have to check them out one by one to find it which one is which... Thanks to the devs laziness because they could've easily updated ALL bloody stats by now with their hands tied to their backs but they just don't feel like... Interesting that all the other scanners managed to do an update but only Poke Genie didn't..... On top of all this you cannot even get support because if you write them you will just get an automated message with no useful info....Version: 4.12.1
✓ Battle contributionThis poke genie is an easy 5 star if they had not added the new battle contribution feature. Before they added this feature I never lost a raid but when they did add this feature I am about 3% away from being able to battle strong Pokémon. I think they should remove this feature as the app used to be soo useful but know it’s not as good. I understand the reasons for it but please take this review into account..Version: 7.4.2

✓ This apps averageThis app is average at best, it’s good when it reads the Pokémon stats right but half the time it reads them wrong and gives me the wrong information. ✓ When it works, it’s amazingI like this app a decent amount, when it works. I’ve been able to capture a few 5* raids I otherwise wouldn’t have been able to complete (I don’t know anyone else near me who also plays Pokémon Go, so it’s my only opportunity to complete higher level raids). However, the notification system when not in the Poke Genie app I tself only works 75-ish % of the time. Sometimes I successfully get a notification that a raid I queued up for is available and to come bank to the app to get the name of the host so I can send him/her a friend request. The other 15%-20% of the time I receive no notifications, and when I happen to go into the app it says something to the effect of ‘you were notified but didn’t show up in time so the spot went to someone else’ and I need to get in the line again and wait even longer. I still recommend the app, just be aware that it’s not perfect and doesn’t always work correctly. You may need to requeue yourself multiple times for some raids.Version: 7.4.2

✓ Good app overallIt works better on my iPhone than on my iPad. It seems caused by the different proportions of screenshots on each device. On iPad it often asked me to manually fill in the appraisal details in order to get the IVs. So I have to switch between the Pokémon Go and this app to check and then fill in those details. ✓ Great App: When it worksThis is a fantastic app to get raid lobbies together but as I’ve seen from other reviews, the glaring problem is other players. 90% of the time you either won’t get invited to the raid you spent hours waiting for, the others wont join so you won’t have enough people to actually complete it or sometimes the pokemon won’t even be the one you queued for which all of this results in losing time and sometimes a remote raid pass which can be hard to get in the first place. I had emailed support once about the problem after waiting a literal entire day to join a raid and then not even being invited to which I was told he can’t do anything and bans do happen if you keep saying you didn’t get invited, and while I do feel bad as I learned that the app is managed by 1 person I feel there should at least be an option to report specific players such as the ones who screw over the rest of the group. Don’t let this or any other reviews like this steer you away from this app though. As said, when it DOES work it’s a very good app. Especially for keeping track of IVs and moves. And I got most of my rare pokemon off of it. Just wish the community could be worked upon..Version: 7.7.0
✓ New user but very optimisticI have experience using online raid finders but this app is honestly the best one I have used. In the past, the biggest problem I have had with raid finders is each individual raid being posted rather than joining a queue for the raid like this app does. It definitely helps streamline the process and I don’t mind waiting a bit longer to ensure I get a lobby for a specific raid without having to constantly look for a new post. I’ve done about 10 raids with it so far and it has been very consistent with me. I have always gotten into the correct raid and only on one of those occasions did I not receive an invite (they have a report system for this to keep this from happening consistently). So far, I have not gotten into any raids that the group was unable to complete. I plan on spreading the love and hosting all raids I do locally on this app from now on..Version: 8.5.1

✓ The App is Great But...So I just got the app and immediately paid for pro on recommendation. That was worth it, however when I attempted to run the battle simulator, I couldn’t add multiple teams. It was locked behind another pay wall. I thought okay fine and paid for it, only to learn the feature only works for raids 4 stars and above. Fine. Since purchasing however, I’ve ONLY been able to use it for 5 star bosses, the 4 star bosses don’t work, and the 5 star option is redundant because of course I wont be trying to solo a 5 star raid. So essentially until this bug is fixed or the feature is improved, I’ve been ripped off for the extra that I paid. I would have considered upgrading the keyboard function (locked behind yet another paywall which is ridiculous) but seeing how the last feature I paid for didn’t work you can forget about that. I want to love this app, in fact there’s alot about it that I genuinely do like, but you can’t rip me off by selling me bugged features and expect a good review. Had it been free I wouldn’t have cared cause hey, it’s free. But you made me PAY for a feature that isn’t even working correctly. I’ve been trying to see multiple teams for Granbull (Lv. 4) for ages and no luck. If I’m paying you (again and again and again) I deserve top quality.Version: 5.2.3
✓ Great app I can’t live without - just needs one tweakThis is a great app to get an IV calc without leaving the game. I would have given 5 stars if the font on IV were larger. Who can read that crazy small print?? I have to go back individually into each scanned Pokémon’s name and change the keyboard back to regular and edit the IV number to normal keyboard size. This is of course a time consuming exercise. Who do you think plays this game? It’s not kids with perfect eyesight. Check the fan base age!!!
