Before getting this app, I knew PVP IVs was a thing to focus on, but didn’t think much of it, and thought that collecting 15,15,15 IVs is all that’s important. Now I know better! I found a Magikarp this morning with 99% perfect PvP IVs for the Great and Ultra Leagues. Nothing close to the 15,15,15 IVs I’d focused on before. Huzzah! (15,15,15 IVs are still worth collecting, but for Master League, raids, and gyms only: PvP’s another kettle of Karp and Poke Genie’s ideal for that kind of player!) 5 stars all the way: the integration with PoGo is unmatched. ✓ Amazing and easy!I don’t normally write reviews, but this app is awesome. I have had it tucked into a folder for years now on my iPhone, and it’s come so far since I last opened it. I used it for IV levels back in 2018, but the screenshot function was a bit tedious. The introduction of IVision and the ability to scan, name, and verify without leaving Pokémon Go is peak genius. Add that to the ability to join remote raids around the world, and I am blown away by this. The cherry on top? It analyzes my current Pokémon and move sets and suggests the top battle lineup, with a quick and easy copy/paste function to select the right ‘mons. Anyone who plays Pokémon Go needs this app. I spent weeks trying to beat a Mega raid, but there weren’t enough people around here ready to play when I needed them. Now? I can raid within minutes. There’s also a high success rate (so far 100% for the raids I’ve played) as the app verifies whether or not someone has the capability to deal the damage needed to win a Legendary with six people. You don’t need to purchase anything in the app, but I bought all the upgrades just to give this developer their due. I had two issues I emailed about and the answer and fix was prompt! Thank you It has been well over a year now since my last review. While there have been some issues and glitches overall, my experience with us app has been very effective. I know many people got upset with the limit of five remote raids, I did too and now I’m all right with it, the small glitch that I’m finding is when I go to the raid, even though I have enough raid passes and I have not hit my five, it will not allow me in and say it is unavailable for me, it doesn’t really bother me too much but I know many people are worried about it. I just feel bad when I go into rate the raid, that I am unable to give the comment that I was unable to join because of the raid pass issue, or if that area would not accept my pass. ✓ Great for finding mons worth the stardust for PVPI am one of the few who has been playing PokémonGo since release in 2016. I was under the impression that unlike the main series games, all the Pokemon in Go didn’t have stat IVs. I learned I was mistaken from some trainers I met after raids were introduced and started using PokeGenie after. I stopped using it when the appraisal feature was added in game, but started to notice a few things when building pvp teams: higher IVs needed more stardust to power up, my higher IVs sometimes performed more poorly, and shadow/purified mons serve more damage regardless of IVs. So after doing some research, I discovered some low IV mons have excellent pvp stats and vise versa. So, back to ole faithful it was. I especially find the app useful for the special cups that accompany some events, like weather or electric cups. I only shudder to think of all the shadow mons I transferred for poor IV stats before I started using Genie again. SS’ing each individual mon can be tedious, especially when your storage is full and you’re out catching. No more quick 0*, 1*, 2* search for mass transfer for me. I live in a rural area so joining 5 star raids with a big group is a rare event around here. If I didn’t have this app, then I would probably only have about 5 legendaries, while now I have almost every one. My one request is that you give the host of a raid the ability to select how many new invites are needed when hosting a raid. In the game we’re maxed out at being able to invite 5 remote players to join a raid and PokeGenie auto selects those 5 for me. I have some nephews that don’t live near me and want to do legendary raids with me remotely. If I could have the ability to tell PokeGenie how many remote players to auto select for me, then I would have the ability to remote my family in as well. I’ve tried helping them use PokeGenie to do raids, but they are very young and aren’t fast enough to cycle between the apps to join raids. I understand that you want to cycle through as many players in the raid lobby as quickly as possible, so maybe you could limit the host to choosing between 4 and 5 invites needed, and only on raids that don’t require the 20 percent damage threshold? ✓ Better than CampfireSays it in the title, but raid functionality is both faster and more regularly successful than Niantic’s “official” service is. Beyond that, you can raid anywhere in the world, which means for me at least I can access new raid spawns upwards of 14 hours in advance from when they would release in my area. Also, as a GBL player, I often find that searching for those highly efficient IVs for the great and ultra league is tedious. Cycling between PvPoke and PoGo to try and discern IVs, then manually entering that information into the web service to try and see if the new catches are worth hanging on to. Also, maybe I’m just stupid, but I found myself often misreading the IV function in game and therefore giving myself illegitimate results. tldr; this app is a godsend for all aspects of the game if you are looking to grind or even just grant ease of access for more casual players..HylianWRXVersion: 8.7.0

And even with Pokémon go’s new updates it’s still so useful letting you know how much cp your Pokémon will have at their max level. Auto scan is worth the money - screen reading would be nice but I realise iOS doesn't facilitate that. I don't really battle/raid enough to make paying for the battle stimulator worthwhile at the current price point. The basic functionality in the battle system suits my needs. Of course I have a wishlist!: A gym badge XP calculator would be handy to show how many raids/battles/berries you are from the next level. The ability to feed in a screenshot to give a rough estimate of CP before catching can be very useful when resources like pokeballs are tight. It would be nice, when you scan an evolved pokemon, to have the system check the unevolved forms and ask 'did you evolve this from <mon>', or have the ability to 'evolve' in the app to link the mons together. ✓ Great App, but one suggestion.Sometimes you can be sitting in a queue for hours and the feeling of losing your spot because the queue pops at an non-opportune time is simply the worst. Can a function be added to pause our spot in the queue if we know we will need to be away from our phone for a short period of time? That way we can stay in our spot and allow others who are actively ready to join a raid get there quicker, without having to restart all over again. I don’t feel there is any way that this would be abused or exploited and would be a quality of life change for everyone. The team suggestions are great and I love that it has search strings built in. IVision is mostly for what it does, except if you don’t want your Pokémon named some ridiculous set of characters you get lots of duplicates of the same ‘mon in your “My Pokémon” section and as a result, you will see the same Pokémon suggested multiple times in the raid counters suggestions when you are in a raid lobby. My biggest suggestion would be a way for the host to “poke” or notify a person from a lobby that you hosted that they don’t have a matching in-game name for the search character strings to do an easy invite. I love hosting through the app and I wish we could contribute to telling people they need to sync their Poke Genie name with their in-game name. The one thing that I am frustrated about is that I have to scan in every single one of my Pokémon so that I can complete my in-app Pokédex. It would be a lot easier since I have Pokémon in my pogo Pokédex that I transferred, so I can’t put them into the in-app Pokédex. When renaming my poke if they have the same moveset as there type I put they symbol which you have on the keyboard at the beginning of there name , so ϟRaikou with fast and charge moves that are electric, I put the electric symbol ϟ at the beginning of the name. ✓ Good, but…This is a fairly essential app for Pokémon Go players to find the highest stat product PVP IVs and then easily renaming things so you can find them later. It also has features for finding remote raids and for simulating fights against raid bosses using things you’ve scanned, although I don’t use these features. However, for the past few months the live IV scanning functionality has not been working for me, receiving “Live Broadcast to Poke Genie IVision has stopped due to: Attempted to start an invalid broadcast session” - I suspect this issue is possibly iOS killing the app in the background, but mitigations like restarting my phone or turning off native FPS in Go don’t seem to help. It’d be a perfect 5*s without this issue, and it seems fairly specific to my device. If you have access to a non-Apple device, I would strongly recommend purchasing there instead/as well, as it can be significantly faster going through a large group of Pokémon without some of the platform limitations on the iOS version (the other version can use an overlay while the iOS version has to rely on notifications, and the overlay can be much faster to pull in information) - when it worked, I’d use the iOS version for e.g. quick checks on community days while out and about, still keeping my autocatcher going, while the other version would be reserved for longer checks at home..VenusyPrimeVersion: 8.0.5

✓ Everything I thought was a lie!I had recently reviewed this app as slightly sub par at best due to the vast range of IVs I found in pokemon and changing IVs from time to time (even without leveling up or powering up pokemon). But I discovered something… that rough percentage was very seldom right, a pokemon that was 91-98% IV could even be as low as 44%. Here’s the trick to perfect I’ve calculation Every. Single. Time. So I used to check the appraisal value of the pokemon through the app but then had no metric of how good it was. I then turned to IV checking apps and they were all hit or miss. But, if you appraise, and use this app on the same screen, (I bought the IVision for ease of use) with the exact attack, defense, and hp stats it will give you a 100% IV for any pokemon. I wish there was a makeup lobby if you couldn’t join the raid because it was full or whatever because it’s frustrating to have to wait a long time if it were a popular Pokémon that people raid for. ✓ Good - if you only have one player IDI have an alt that I started before I knew about the raiding apps. He's up to Level 30 now. Poke Genie allows me to sign in/out my two characters, but does not backup/restore the Pokemon separately. So, if I use iVision to scan 433 Pokes for my primary ID (Level 41), then sign her out on Poke Genie, then sign in under my alt ID, all 433 still show up under "My Pokemon" for the other character. Saving/restoring don't help, as there's no option to save/restore Poke lists for different players, and each restore overwrites the existing database. This means I can meet the 20% damage threshold to enter raids with a character with Pokes that aren't actually in that character's inventory. Also, echo what someone else said about allowing the raid host to specify the number of trainers needed. I love the system where you scan your Pokémon in, I’ve been using the free version but am seriously considering buying the ivision just to make it even easier. Even on the free version if you scan your ‘moms in it will give you the best team possible for a raid and all you have to do is copy it to your clipboard and paste it into Pokémon go when you’re choosing your team. Which really helps because I space out on type matching a LOT. The fact that this is free and the ads aren’t even invasive amazes me, I’ve only ever seen a small banner at the bottom. Every other raid app has a paywall for everything! Even getting in a queue, you have to pay in the other apps. I am so glad my friend introduced me to this app. The longest I’ve had to wait in a queue was 4 hours, BUT, that was only because they had just added that raid the same day. I would have never caught a Dialga without this app and definitely recommend this app to everyone regardless of if you’d pay for the extras or not. ✓ I’m baffledIf you look be in an area like me that not much people do the raid are always empty but you also live far away from popular areas then this app is a life saver. I download this app and within 15 mins I got an entei that I was dreaming of, it also gives a cool little bonus where your remote caught Pokémon can say it was caught remotely at a raid extremely far away to show off to your friends. ✓ Great if you have a lot of remote raid passesThis app is amazing It has helped me get my first mega pokemon. There is one bad thing though, its that sometimes the wait time is long for hosting witch is anoying because the first time I hosted I spent 30 mins in the queue only for the raid to end and my phones power to die when i was 2cnd in the queue. ✓ Great for players who can’t seem to find their local scene.I stopped playing for a few years and I’m so glad I can just jump right back in. I moved cities and had no one to play with (from rural to urban, funnily enough) I’m surrounded by gyms, live next to a gym, at peak raid hour there’s 12 going that I can reach on my couch. But I had left all my raid buddies in nowhere pennsyltucky! And they don’t want to use remote passes, so I stared at the Regis and Megas, irritatedly not being able to do anything about them — until someone mentioned this app. I held a bunch of raids yesterday and got gifts from all over the world afterwards! I’ve got a nice little post card collection going now and I can’t wait to host more raids from my desk. I miss having a close knit, in-person group, but this is also pretty great. ✓ Great app, but…Hands down I love this app, it’s helped me participate in raids all over when there’s none going on around me, and helped me host raids when none of my friends have remote passes. For the most part it’s a really great system, but I think there needs to be changes. I highly disagree with the fact that lower level players can join legendary and 5 star raids. Like do you really think a level 18 hopping in to a team of 6 is going to do anything to help the others? Absolutely not. It’s a huge waste of time when a level 18 or even lower hops in to an in game lobby and ends up being the reason the raid isn’t completed, because their damage contribution is horrible in comparison. I understand everybody has to start somewhere, so in that case, start in your own town, in a raid that has a lot of people in the que already rather than wasting peoples time trying to get in on a limited team of 6 just so you can try and get a cool raid legendary. Next, make sure you’re name and level are both the exact same on the app as in game, it’s very confusing and irritating trying to invite people to raids when their app name is different from their in game name. There should definitely be more punishment for having incorrect names. All in all I would recommend getting this app for raiding, but I would also advise you don’t participate in the 5 star or legendary raids if you aren’t a competent level..Illest41MasVersion: 8.1.5

✓ Does what it says with a minimum of fuss and flashiness.My primary use is the Raid feature - which is not because I like raids, but because gifting is the fastest way to acquire EXP. At higher levels, EXP gained from catching and evolving barely makes a dent. The PVP rankings are also awesome and taught me something new. I’ve found the system in this app agrees with other apps and databases around the web for the Little, Master, and Great leagues. However, there is disagreement when it comes to the Ultra leagues, about half the other resources are consistent with this app, but also there is a considerable number that duplicates the ranking of the Master league. In general this app favors a low attack for Master League, but other resources favor high overall IV and duplicate the Master rankings into their Ultra rankings. However, the IV does not really make a huge difference. The same mon would perform almost the same if it’s IV were 100 or 40. It’s the mon itself and chosen moves along with fighting strategy that make the difference. There’s a learning curve and occasional glitch or bug, but overall an awesome app and a game changer. When I show others, some are quick to use it themselves. Some tell me they have fun doing everything manually and don’t want to change the game by using the app. This app helps me level quickly by making new friends plus also helps me identity which mons to throw away. ✓ SO HELPFULThis app has been a huge help in playing PoGo. Before I had pokeGenie I really had no clue what I was doing and I was spending loads of time researching each Pokémon I caught. Thanks to this app I don't have to do that anymore. It's super easy to load screenshots onto the app. I thought it would be confusing having so many screenshots to know which ones I have loaded or not, but the app helps with that as well by not showing any screenshots that have been previously loaded. The app is also helpful in finding remote raids for the specific Pokemon who are currently raiding from, I think, anywhere in the world? (Don't quote me on that). I haven't used this service but it sounds lovely; especially when there is a task telling you to raid and you don't live near a gym. ✓ Amazing app with a couple of annoying flawsGreat app for iPhones that rely on screenshots for safe IV checking. Have used for long time now and mostly very happy. Raid teams are great, logical layout. My issues are: occasionally it will read a mon wrong ie. diglett previously scanned at 96% before the big CP change up... now pokegenie reads it lower but thinks it is level 20.5 instead of 20.... but it won’t let me manually correct this down to level 20 and tells me there are no IV combinations found. Very frustrating and makes me wonder if I have deleted any other great mons because of a false low reading. The other thing that annoys me is..... Why I still can’t check defence movesets for legendary mons.... this made sense when they had no defence role but as they now can be used in pvp...??? Why can’t I check their movesets for best defence? If they fixed these two issues, the app would be awesome!! (PS. I think the in-app purchases are quite reasonable).AaravisVersion: 4.16.2

✓ Great addition for PoGoSo I started playing Pokémon ages ago when it first came out and started again during lockdown. Wow, lots had changed! There’s now IV and bit raids and battles. I was struggling to get my head around it all and look like I knew what I was doing in front of my kids. This app has been very helpful and although it doesn’t just merge your account the screenshot part is very easy and good to know the percentages of your Pokémon potential and which attacks are rated A-D. Also, when planning a raid on a gym being able to get help picking your best squad has been brilliant. We used to struggle using our best Pokémon.
