✓ Get the Meater plus, not the blockUpdate: After working with their support staff, I was able to update the block and since then, it’s worked much better and has only had an occasional disconnect. I love the idea of these and the consistency of meats I cook has been better than anything I’d ever done before. So if you have the block and it tells you to update the firmware, do it. And if it doesn’t work, contact their support staff and they’ll help you out. First review, before firmware update to block. The block works but is super frustrating because it constantly and randomly disconnects. The firmware update process always sparks hope, but never updates. Support staff are nice but still have not given me any solutions that make things better. Instead, I spend what seems like hours trying to get it to update and work properly, but so far, I’ve been unsuccessful. As soon as it starts working as advertised, I’ll submit another review or update this one. For now, I’m jus left feeling frustrated..EKCJVersion: 2.4.1

✗ Too short a rangeHave had these for 2 years and have to put the block beside the smoke can’t have it in the house unfortunately as it can’t connect to probes in smoker. It is 5-6 feet from inside house(glass sunroom) to Smoker. So on a long cook need an umbrella to keep block out of the rain/snow..Happy Canuck 4228Version: 3.2.2
