✓ The Bass Line MakerThere are a multitude of ways you can play the app, via midi, the AU host keyboard, or the built in sequencer which has a random and mutation mode. It's easy to export audio or midi sequences directly as perfect loops to your other apps. The developer continues to add new features and improvements..Version: 1.2.1
✓ It's (NOT) a 303!It's better. It sounds like a 303 but the sequencer isn't from a 303. The sequencer is a stroke of genius! A real 303 (and every emulation of one) is a faff to program. But this is like a dream to program. It's inspired and takes real advantage of the touchscreen display. It makes the process of programming so intuitive that nothing stands in the way of your creativity. And being able to quickly change key or move the sequence along or come up with variations of your pattern or completely random patterns is the icing on a particularly tasty cake. ✓ Rarely does something merit the hyperbole & hype that it gets, Troublemaker deserves it allBram Bos is a class act who is friendly to the iOS music production community and always fixes any issues with his apps. When it was revealed his latest in the "maker" series of AUv3 primed soft synth apps was going to be a bass machine the buzz was instant, then beta users started putting it over & the first few videos showed up. Of course the 303 comparison was the easiest to make but I was more impressed with the genius note input system he came up with, showing that the skeuomorphic mimicking of hardware down to the last detail isn't always the best way of doing things. I am more a pop/rock/indie guitarist than EDM guy but I love all types of instruments, keys, sounds, etc. I got the app during the 3/03 sale and have been awed by its sound and versatility. The 'bass guitar' wave tone is completely usable but the other waves & especially the fine tune controls for shaping are just crazy. All manner of burps, bloots, fizzles, rumbles, reso stomps and wooly bass tones can be copped quite easily. I am seriously impressed and thank Bram for the sale. I hope others on the fence realize that on sale or not, this is an incredible app. Highly recommend..Version: 1.2.2
✓ Yeah this sh** be awesomeTwo minutes with Troublemaker had me headbanging to my internal DJ and dancing at my own private rave. Love it, can’t wait to use it in my live set next week at the music convention. ✓ Great acid synthThis app sounds great! It’s the best sounding 303 emulation I’ve found so far and the extra waveforms are really usable. I also like the interface because it’s easy to see the whole pattern at a glance. It’s much easier to use than the regular 303 sequencer. One thing I would wish for is cc mapping of the controls. From what I’ve read the values seem fixed, and they’re also fixed on my usb controller, unfortunately with no overlap. I’d prefer not to have to buy a new usb controller, but this app is so fun I just might..Version: 1.7

✓ Another Home Run!!!I now own all of this developer's apps. And, all of them top notch. However, this one might be my favorite out of them all. The sequencer in this baby is insane! Very easy to set up exactly what you're after, but then hit the random buttons and tweak the probability settings, and you'll end up with magnificent stuff you hadn't even thought of. ✓ Great app to generate acid samplesThis is an updated review. The app is great at doing what it says. Acid bass line samples. I just figured out how to record straight into Logic Pro. The only suggestion I have is the developer should add a red banner at the top of the screen when switching away from the app like google maps does so that the user knows it’s still running and using the battery.Version: 1.5.3

✓ I love this but…I absolutely LOVE this app. It’s utterly brilliant. But I cannot figure out how to use it as an auv3 in GarageBand or logic pro. It just doesn’t seem to to have the same functionality, and is a stripped down version with a piano keyboard rather than the grid based system in the standalone version. So I have to export midi files from the standalone and import them from my files app into my DAW. And then place them into a Troublemaker instrument opened in the DAW. Maybe that was the dev’s intention. Either that or I’m missing something obvious. Still, it works that way, and has been an amazing bass tool, but the extra steps seem a little tiresome some days. But…. as I said, I do love the app..Version: 1.8.5

✓ Oh my! Where to start??Aagh. Words fail me. This is the best flippin' music app I have ever had. Not just on iOS, EVER! I'll admit I wouldn't know a real TB-03 from any of the various emulations I've used over the years, but I do know that this nails EXACTLY what I want, plus so much more. Everything about the execution of this app is top notch. Bram Bos has outdone himself, and that is saying a LOT. However, do NOT buy this if you're serious about putting a lot of music out, or if your parents / friends / significant other suspect you of substance abuse. Because you will spend hours and hours and hours and days and day just messing with Troublemaker with a totally stupid, stoned looking grin on your face. Kidding aside ... Troublemaker sounds great, is way more than a TB-03 emulator, looks great, works great, is fun to use, and just oozes quality. If you're into electronic music in any way, you will not be dissapointed. If you aren't into electronic music ... be prepared for that to change. [update 1/21/2017] Beam Bos updated again with a really nice added mutation: skip notes. With this and the other parameters, you can set up patterns to run with just the right amount of variation to keep them from getting boring - or make them go ape sh_*t. Very nice! [update 7/18/2017] Brambos does it again. He just released a patch to work around a bug in another developer's host app until they provide their own fix!
