Weather Up — Live Widgets for Negative User Reviews

Update 3.0I was looking forward to this update since it was FINALLY getting widgets. I also intended to buy their lifetime sub since I am honestly getting tired of paid subs for everything nowadays. As for the the apps weather widget. It’s subpar and lacks customizability. It’s just one 2x4 widget. As for their sub. It’s now either $4 a month or $40 a year now. Their lifetime sub is no longer available for for $40 a year you can get multiple customizable widgets and a customizable Home Screen with Carrot Weather..Version: 3.0.1

Nothing Special...There is not really that much to this app. It is basically a weather radar and current conditions list. There are many others out there that are far more informative. There was one named “Storm” that was almost perfect, yet they replaced it with “Storm Radar” and now it is useless. My suggestion to the developers of Weather Up is to find a way to clone the old Storm app and you will have a winner..Version: 2.0

No UK RadarThis app needs a lot more work..Version: 2.0.1

No UK radar coverageThe data feed doesn’t seem to cover the UK. Yesterday it rained all day and nothing yet the US had storms etc showing. I feel a bit conned having paid for the subscription..Version: 2.0.1

Not much with this appThere are many other weather apps that provide much more features and accessibilities than this app....for FREE! Yes you have to pay now days to get all the extras but there is a difference between a monthly subscription and a one time fee. Weathermate offers a complete set up and has info that’ll actually encourage the user to buy the pro version because the app itself is just awesome. But don’t settle with this app as it has limited use that offers useless info that all the other weather apps already offer for free and have much more..Version: 1.1.3

Weather upWas excellent but now needs upgrading as would even give a map or any cloud as it used to.Version: 2.9

Back from the dead? Nope!Developers like this is what has turned this App Store into a dumpster of overpriced, abandoned apps. An update that only says “hello! Long time no speak and oh, by the way, nothing will be updated soon” after over two years is unacceptable. The developer and Apple should be ashamed. Both just want a paycheck and have no values of keeping a customer satisfied anymore..Version: 2.9

Immediately asks if you’re happy with the appScroll through six intro screens, pops up and asks if I’m happy with the app and do I want to leave a review. Why? I haven’t even used it and haven’t even started the free week. You want me to review the app after a bunch of feature intro screens and then immediately ask what it’s like? Sure here you go. The unnecessary badgering is odd..Version: 3.0.1

One of those apps where you need to get...... a subscription to properly try it out. I personally don't want to spend x amount of money for an app which I will not own if I stop paying. With the free version you get your real basic weather app which as far as I can tell, you can't change the measurements to centigrade. I appreciate the work which has gone in to it, but it's not the weather app for me, unless they change the business model..Version: 2.0.1

Has potentialThis could be a fantastic weather app. It can’t find my town if I search for it. I like having it saved for when I travel and need weather updates for travel home. It shows it as current location but can’t search it..Version: 2.9.1

SubscriptionPaying for a monthly subscription, it would be nice to see this app be updated more often - and at least sooner than 4 months ago. The inches displayed for precipitation, namely snow forecast, are generally inaccurate. It will display 0.3” of snow when the forecast warning and/or actual accumulation is 12-18”. I really want to like this app for its minimalistic style and great execution; however these issues could be resolved if it were updated sooner..Version: 1.1.2

Forecasts extremely inaccurateThe 10 day forecasts are consistently 10° hotter than any other app, which always turns out to be inaccurate. Even on the days where it rained, the hourly forecast was many hours off compared to other weather app, also inaccurate. Kind of disappointing because the app looks so great... I definitely don’t want to be thinking it’s going to be 100° when it’s not..Version: 1.0.5

Can’t change unit of temperature!!Seems like a pretty simple thing to allow users to change to Celsius (and somewhat arrogant)..Version: 3.0.1

Pretty good but...I love the app. Very good for what I need it. Love the features and all. What I don’t like is how the app likes to “forget” I have a subscription. And for some reason the Restore Purchase button can’t be selected. I have to uninstall the app and re-install it again. It’s very frustrating. If it wasn’t for this, i would give it a 5 star. Thanks. UPDATE: I won’t be using this app anymore. They haven’t fixed their little glitch/problem. It was good while it lasted. Maybe if they fix it I would install it again. Thank you for the service. But I rather spend my money on something that will be working..Version: 1.1.2

Trolling for moneyIt cute, but nothing better than what is already available for free. The annoying thing about the app is that you cannot remove the advertising as you can in other apps. If you click to close the ad, another box appears to sell you the no ad version. This is not fair and not good for those who are frugal. I will continue to use the weather channel at least there when the ads appear, I can manually remove them without being forced to make a purchase..Version: 2.3.5

Nice app but...Nice app but Pro cost at $9.99 per year is outrageous. Most apps I’ve upgraded to Pro were a $4.99 one time charge. A $9.99 one time charge I feel would be a little high but may entice me to upgrade because I really like the app layout and function. But I would NEVER pay $9.99/year to upgrade any app to Pro with possibly the exception of a golf GPS app. There are many other weather apps equally as nice than can be upgraded for a one time charge. Remove the per year fee and you have another customer..Version: 2.0.3

Why UK?Not sure this in the U.K. Store as there seems to be a lot of missing detail..Version: 2.0

Has some issuesDoesn’t work well when internet access is poor. It will do the following: - delete prior cached forecast data before fetching new. You can’t see what was there before even if it was just 10 minutes or an hour ago. (That 10 day forecast would have been useful, even on the next day...) - say it can’t load and offers no way to retry if access has improved. - it will not show it is still loading radar data. This means you have no way to tell if the sky is clear or it just has failed to load that red line of storms coming at you Other issues: - lacks international coverage. Really only good in the US. Recommended only for people living in urban America with good reliable cellular of WiFi coverage..Version: 1.1.3

Nah subscriptionsI like the interface and layout, but apps with ads are incredibly annoying. Also to get premium ads, you have to pay a subscription rather than offering a one time purchase for access to the best features..Version: 2.0

Nice looking appNice looking app. I wish it was a bit more customizable with what to display, since there is a lot of wasted space with the map at the top. If I pull the bottom tab up, it should display more details such as wind speed instead of showing the map. Tapping each hour shows the extra details, but I’d like a quick glance as well..Version: 1.1.2

Widgets need workI love the UI of this weather app. The only thing keeping me from using this app as my go to is the horrible widgets. I don’t want/need 3 widgets, that’s just poor design to me. Just make one that shows me pertinent information at a glance and expands to show an hourly forecast. Give me the current temperature, weather conditions icon, wind speed and precipitation chances at a glance and I’m happy. I can tap into the app if I want more information. The UI of the current daily & hourly widgets don’t even fit in the box and there’s no option to expand. Seriously not sure why such thought was given to the app and the widgets were kind of just thrown together. I will not renew my subscription if this is not addressed..Version: 2.3.1

No Celsius supportIt’s a great looking app with good functionality but where’s the Celsius support?.Version: 3.0.1

Am I missing something?Where is future radar? Reading through reviews, it seems like 6 years ago this same question was asked. Am I just missing where it is, or 6 years later is it still not there?.Version: 3.0.1

Great app, just not for me.I am a weather app junkie. My folder of weather apps on my phone is overflowing. My favorite is hello weather which I happily subscribe too for $4.99. But hello doesn’t have feels like temps in the hourly forecast. I still subscribed minus a feels like in futures hours. Weather up shows that data which so why I was so excited when I stumbled on this app. I do a lot outside so it’s critical I can see the “feels like” temp 3 hours or so from now. At first I was ready to subscribe to weather up until it was time to get the dogs outside at 9p. Weather up said the feels like temp was 16. So I bundled up ready to brave the cold. Much to my surprise it wasn't cold at all. I opened another weather app and the swing was a wild 20 degrees higher. As much as I cringe at the $9.99 annual fee (rather high for a minimalist weather app) this app needs to have other weather providers to choose from (like hello weather). If they do I’d be inclined to subscribe. Though $5.00 is more where I see this app but I’m an old Man that still doesn’t get the whole subscribe stuff. Great app to add to my weather collection but I wait patiently for an update that brings more providers since the current app provider (whoever that might be?)does not work in my neck of the woods. :-(.Version: 2.0.1

Not worth the moneyIt’s probably a relatively decent free weather app but I find other free ones better. When it comes to the subscription, it basically offers 2 things: - removes ads: not worth $3/month for me - calendar integration: to call this integration is a joke. What the app essentially does us show your meetings/events in the app. However, integration should mean that for my meetings that have a location, it shows the weather in that location. Of course, it doesn’t seem like the app can do that. Reached out to the dev to make sure I’m not doing it wrong but so far I have yet to hear back..Version: 2.0.1

Has Great Potential, Desperately Needs an UpdateI have used this weather app for years now and I really do like it. There is simplicity to it while also having a lot of quality features and good flow to it. I think the Map UX is really clean and its nice to see multiple places at once that you have marked. I I have contemplating upgrading to the paid subscription but this app has not been updated in almost TWO YEARS! That means no Widget support yet, no new features, and no consistent updates to ensure everything works smoothly. If Weather Up adds iOS 15 Widgets and more app updates, I think more people would gladly pay for “Pro”. Until then, just another seemingly abandoned app..Version: 2.3.5

Too many bugsI’d like to be able to give this a higher rating but bugs in the weather data go unattended. The forecast data for southwest FL continue to show temperatures in the mid 20s during the day. That’s outrageous. It’s cool today but has been and will be near 80 in the next 3 days. Come on, you can fix this. Otherwise I’ll begin looking for a better weather app..Version: 2.0.1

Continuing the search for Dark Sky Replacement.I was hopeful the newest update might get closer. But it didn’t. When I first got dark sky I hated how verticalized the UI was. Then I realized they were years ahead of their time. If Weather Up took a look at their Ui with fresh eyes and think hard about ‘weather at a glance’ and take another shot it - I might try it again at that time..Version: 3.0.1

Does not work completely on SESeems to function well enough, but some customization do not work on the small screen. Specifically, some of the options for pro users cannot be selected due to the fact they are off the edge of the screen. They cannot be scrolled to. Looks like the developers neglected the small screen phones. Edit: Increasing the rating to 4 after using it for awhile. Still can. To get one of the menus to work on the SE. It would be nice if it offered to remember settings across devices. As it is now, all devices must be configured if you do not want the default layout. Also, I miss the front maps of WunderMap. Edit2: The app forgets that it’s been purchased. While the settings I have changed are kept, the adds seem to reappear after a day..Version: 1.1.2

Weather forecastsNo better, no worse than other similar weather services. Generally not one to organize your plans based on information presented, especially temperature in. if you use this service regularly, you will note that updates may vary by as much as 15° over the span of one hour. however, as a ballpark estimate, including storm/rain belt tracking, this service is average..Version: 2.9.1
