✓ Best cooking app for beginners!The app is just amazing! There are so many different cooking options! I love how there are videos and how there are categories you can choose from. I’m not a baker, but the videos are so user-friendly that I learned to bake amazing treats such as s’mores macaroons, candy bark, and 4 types of fudge you can make in 4 minutes!! A couple of things I think should be added are: full screen mode for the videos, and normal speed mode for the videos as well; the number of total likes to show popularity of a good, and the ability to choose 2 categories at once in search. ✓ Good app, needs Some improvementI absolutely adore this app, when I feel like baking something I look around and just go for it! I also just love watching the videos of how to make the food! However, I think the app needs some improvement. I love that they added a section where you can leave tips, that’s extremely useful. But, some recipes are outdated or don’t work, or just don’t taste that good. This is resolved due to the tips but still I think they could update the recipes themselves to help others. Another issue I found is that the links don’t work, at the bottom of the app there are recipe ideas and other posts. In those posts there are links to the recipes, when you click on them they don’t work. It would be cool if you could click on it and the recipe would pop up online or in the app. I also have an idea for tasty, why not let users create there own recipes and have a separate tab to search user recipes? Tasty did an overall astounding job of developing this app. I would recommend to anyone who often feels the crave to cook, who needs practice, and who just wants inspiration. The recipes are exact for the most part except for sometimes the stove heat. The ingredients, procedures, and instructional visuals are well executed. I only find one thing that could be improved (besides the minor stove heat issue). This is the filtration of the app. I just think it would be a bit more convenient if we had a better search function that shows more relevant results, and if the app’s suggestions would be more filtered based on what we normally search and mark as made. My favourite features are the ‘step by step’ method and the ‘3 ingredients you have at home’. The ‘step by step’ feature allows you to move at your own pace whilst it explains it to you in words. First, the ingredients list and instructions are on the same page and very easily scrolled through to access as you need them; unlike other apps that take you out of the app and send you off to verbose food bloggers' pages for instructions. Second, my favorite feature is the step by step video instruction, where you swipe left as you prepare each part of the recipe. ✓ Great app but would love a different formatI have always watched tasty, especially the ‘tasty 101’ segment, and when I found out there was an app of course I downloaded it. I love the step by step mode and having a video to reference is very helpful. The reason I gave it 4 stars, however, is because of the format. The way the recipes are formatted, the ingredients are placed far away from the instructions, forcing you to scroll 50 times just to make sure you got the ingredients right. Maybe I’m just a snob with my recipes (I put all my online recipes into a formatting app), but I love the format when you look up tasty recipes online, so I don’t really see why it’s different on the app. I end up just looking it up online or putting it into my recipe format app, rendering the app useless. It’s a great app and I’ve been using it to expand my cooking knowledge recreationally for a couple years! It is very well organized. I just wish there were more categories you could sort the recipes by, because right now vegetarian is the only one. Some people might want to eat “healthier”, or find protein recipes, or have a specific diet that’s not vegetarian haha. I also wish you could search by ingredient. Sometimes when I have leftover ingredients it would be nice to see all my options when I search for it. The most important thing for me is a recipe randomizer, because since I cook recreationally I want to try new things and it would be fun if the app could pick a random recipe out of My Likes for me. ✓ SO GOOD 😋😁So normally I don’t write reviews on apps.. but this time after only 1 hour of having the app I decided I needed to. SERIOUSLY this app is SO GOOD!! All the recipes are very easy even if you’re not too good at baking (lol I’m not!) and they give videos with each one so you can see what you’re supposed to do. I haven’t used the Grocery Pickup and I probably won’t, because I don’t need to buy new groceries every time, but it is a good feature if you decide to use it. And the search feature is really nice too. Basically it’s a really great app and even if you don’t use it a lot or bake or cook a lot, it’s still worth having it just in case you want a good recipe in a pinch or if you get in a random baking mood. I enjoying scrolling through the recipes and seeing what I might want to make at home. Even so the app itself definitely needs some improvements. I also think there refined search could use a few more categories to make it broader, or more specific to what you are looking for. The tips and comments are useful but I didn’t find out about the page for a month. It would be nice if it was more obvious. The biggest problem I have with the app is the video audio. ✓ Great for normal peopleI have issues with many recipe apps because most recipes call for one or two random things that are expensive, difficult to substitute, and/or hard to find. Or they claim to be “easy” or “only 30 minutes”... which may be true for chefs or very practiced cooks, but not for normal people who just want new recipes to try. Tasty actually has doable recipes with things most people have on hand. There are of course more difficult or obscure recipes, but most of them are straightforward and geared toward people who don’t have a crazy amount of experience in the kitchen but also aren’t totally green. I seriously check this app every day hoping for new recipes. 😋 My only complaint is that you can’t organize the recipe books yourself. I literally use this app for anything I want to make. Their recipes are so creative and delicious It also easily explains what you need and what your supposed to do. First, there are some recipes where it is part of a category. For example, I found this S’mores Cookies recipe, and it was part of a title called, “ 6 Cookie Dough Upgrades “. But when I started to play the recipe video, it skips ahead to the actual recipe, instead of showing all the different recipes that are in the specific recipe video. ✓ Love the app, except shopping listI really love this app. It is great except the shopping list is really not useful to me unless I’m just missing something. It just shows you the recipes and has a list of all the ingredients. Then lists another recipe and lists all the ingredients etc. you can remove ingredients from each recipe but still who shops by recipe? No one..it would make way more sense to add a recipe and then select which ingredients you need instead of defaulting everything to the list..I don’t need to buy salt every day and for every recipe. Usually I only need one or two things. Should add selected ingredients to a list and the list should be organized by food type (produce, spices, etc). It would be cool to see which recipe you are making that needs that ingredient still somehow (drill down menu?) I love how they have live videos where the people are actually talking to the camera crew and the people watching. Kati and Chris, Jasmine and Hannah are amazing. I have made one of Hannah’s recipes and it was pretty great! We just accidentally left part of it out so it tasted different. I also made rice the way that Jasmine said to and it turned out perfect. I used the rice water for my hair, skin and plants. The only thing I can think of that you can improve in is watching your words. There are a lot of little kids out there. I have almost 7 siblings myself (4 and almost 5 are younger and love to watch Tasty too) and I know that they learn from it as do others. Other than that I can’t think of anything. I and my siblings love Tasty so much. I REALLY REALLY want to work there when I am older. ✓ Good, but a huge bugThis app was great when I used it, until recently a pretty significant and frustrating glitch occurred. I recently re-downloaded this app and logged in. It asked for my phone number (because that’s what I used when I first made my account), and everything was perfectly fine, until I closed out of the app. When I reopened the app, it had logged me out. A little weird, but fine, I’ll just sign in again. But when I tried to submit my phone number, an error message popped up that said something along the lines of “oops, something went wrong. Please try again later.” So I closed the app and waited for about 10 minutes. I tried again and the same thing. I tried to input my friend’s number and it worked, so it was clearly my phone number that was the problem. But when I closed and reopened the app again and tried her number again, that one wouldn’t work either. Everybody who’s eaten these recipes is honestly shocked that I have only just started because they are so delicious!
