✓ Can’t get past the cameraUpon opening this app it continues to say it needs access to my camera in order to use the app. Usually an app will ask for access and prompt you with ‘yes’ or ‘no’. In this case, the app directs me to go into my phone Settings to give them access. However, there is no camera access indicator for this particular app in settings. But as with many things heavily advertised, the money is being spent there and not on the product (see more farther down). But then the dark UX started. When you open the app it forces you to decide then and there if you want a 3 day free trial that auto-renews and tells you that if you reject it you’ll never get another chance. Okay... so I rejected the free trial because that’s skeevy AF to the point I took a screenshot of the message to show others. Then I played with the product. It’s a sub-par facetune knock-off that still rides in the uncanny valley of “this is clearly fake” and “this person uses way too many filters on their images.” As a photographer that uses Adobe Lightroom (there’s an App version of this) to edit images, I promise there are *way* better apps out there than the one with VC funding to pump into Instagram ads instead of their engineering department. ✓ Photo makeup!It’s hard to do photo makeup. If you have 2 people in the picture. You can’t de-select a face. and it zooms in to much. So the end result is basically a picture of an eye. And there’s no options to move the points on the face. So my lips always turn out really big! If this app didn’t zoom so much in the face on photo makeup and gave you options to move the points and to also edit a picture with me and my boyfriend.
