Actions by Moleskine Studio for Negative User Reviews

Really Want To Like- Some Back End FlawsI keep coming back to this app over the years because I really do like the idea of how it works. Between this, and Timepage, it mimics the way I think about my life, scheduling things in my life, and getting things done. However, each time I use it, I find it does not work well with syncing between my devises, and with the reminders and calendar app native to the Apple Ecosystem. Where I have a lot of info stored that I need on any app I use for getting things done. I have tried to fix this, but cannot figure out why tasks I complete and mark as completed in this app does not reflect in the native reminders app, which then shows up again in this app. I came back to it due to a promotion that Moleskin ran while touting improvements to the apps. Frankly, I have not noticed any improvements, but still like the overall idea. Fix this one issue and it will be a five star review for sure..Version: 2.1.2

OverpricedYour apps are nice but a subscription model for the type of apps you make is unnecessary. The App Store and tech industry in general is being over saturated with everything wanting a subscription. How many subscriptions do you think an individual is willing to pay? Most have more then one video streaming, and others also have music, news, audio books, password organizer, gaming, cloud storage, etc..etc..etc And if they don’t have these they have a different combination of the hundreds of app types that want your money every month. I like allot of people would have paid good money for this app but when you get greedy and want somebody’s money every month for a calendar and to do list? I think many app developers are forgetting that the App Store boomed because apps used to cost $1 and it was easy for people to buy a bunch every month and if they liked it they would buy more from that developer. I understand that times change, but if you offered this app for $6 or even $10 I think it would be on the top of the most purchased list. I used to use your calendar app but now I use Fantastical. I don’t mean to sound harsh because you make very pretty apps but there are other pretty apps especially in the in the fields you have chosen where there is an over abundance of them..Version: 1.5.7

Great app but too many limitationsActions is lovely to use but its lack of integration with other software makes it completely impractical until these features are developed. It badly needs a mac or web version, and to be able to recieve tasks by email or other inputs than just adding manually on IOS devices. I keep checking back to see if its been expanded yet but so far it’s just crushing disappointment..Version: 1.5.3

Great App but missing basic featuresAs the title says - this is a great app, I like the organization and all the current features and upcoming ones! But that said, this app last many basic features that all other list/reminder apps include, the chief most is badges!!! Like how can you design a reminders app that doesn’t show on the Home Screen app icon that you have outstanding reminders!! If you miss the notification you set, then there is nothing to tell you that you have a current/outstanding action, even when you open the app, the overdue or missed ones look just like everything else. I would give this app 5 stars if they could just add the basic/standard features that other apps have..Version: 1.9.1

Unnecessarily complicatedA calendar and note app needs to as a first step allow quick additions of events. This is unfortunately where the Timepage app fails, with unnecessarily complicated options - event, flow, action, and then an non intuitive horizontal scroll wheel to get the time right, without a view of where the other events on that day are. It is also sad that the actions app is separate and each time you amend or create an action it requires another app to open, with a wholly different visual landscape. I’ve paid £24 for the year and gone back to outlook. Waste of time..Version: 3.2.1

FrustratingI used to love this app, however, a few updates ago, all of my lists disappeared. They were just gone. So I took the time to redo all of them. Then the next update, my lists all reappeared so then I had 2 of every list, went through and deleted the duplicates, and then on the next update they all disappeared again, so now I’m back to square one. Of course this was right after my subscription renewed, so I’m stuck with it for another year, but I find I don’t use it as much anymore because I’m too afraid to rely on it as a way to organize myself because I’ll just end up losing everything and having to do it all over again. Nothing worse than an app that claims to help you stay organized and only makes more work for you..Version: 3.2.1

Wanted to love itSo I really wanted to love this app. The design is beautiful and I love the colors and in theory it does what I need but the bugs bother me. Like why my lists won’t stay in order. Sometimes I complete something and it doesn’t catch it or for some reason things appear twice on a list that I know I didn’t add twice. I was trying to use this app and timepage to track my bills. But when I look at the lists in actions the bills are never in order by date (like seriously how is there no option on how to sort your list) and since I have items repeating somehow they double up? It’s strange and unreliable making it not worth it. If you’re making random lists maybe this app is okay but not if you need things sorted out and reoccurring..Version: 2.2.3

Paid app - save yourself some time and find an actual free oneSave yourself the time, trouble and phone space and go find an actual free app that doesn’t make itself crash every time a paywall pops up.Version: 3.1.5

Don’t pay for thisGet a pen and paper, or use the notes in your phone. You don’t need to sign up for a 30p/year subscription to a to do list..Version: 1.8.0

Beautiful, but hopelessI want to start by saying that the UI for this app is great, it looks good and feels nice to use. As a useful app though? No. A todo app needs to be reliable and consistent to help the user, you know, do things. An app that duplicates tasks when you try and reorder or try to complete them isn’t reliable. An app that doesn’t remind you of something when it’s meant to isn’t reliable. This app is entirely style over substance. I’ll be heading back to Things 3..Version: 1.9.3

This is NOT intuitive to use.Needs to provide a bit more instruction. I’ve used lots of apps and calendars and this one is Not intuitive. DrX.Version: 1.0.5

I had such high hopesAs an avid ToDo list person I was thrilled when I came across this as it’s beautiful as well as practical- heaven. I was so wrong. This app doesn’t integrate with Moleskins own Timepage- as my Daily summary doesn’t include any of my tasks on Actions. There’s no way to know without opening the app how many outstanding tasks you have- a standard on many other apps. And no ability to set reminders if you forget to do it at the appointed time. I have tried to get on with this app and Timepage several times now but will be migrating back the pen and paper in the future. Very very disappointed..Version: 1.9.2

Apple Watch complication does not workI was hoping with the recent update the developer would finally fix the Apple Watch complication but they haven’t. It’s hit or miss, but 99% of the time it does not work. Would also like to add that the overall app rating is likely incorrect. There are a lot of 4 star reviews that are negative comments about how rouble this app is. DON’T PAY FOR THIS APP LIKE I DID! 🤬.Version: 1.8.3

New updates are both great and frustratingI want to start by saying that this is my all time favorite to do list app and there are some new updates that I absolutely love (like the checklists and new colors). That said, some things remain frustrating and new bugs appeared with the latest updates. Here are my main issues: Synching : this is extremely frustrating and a new bug. When I use the browser version on my laptop and then open the app on my phone, it immediately undoes everything I’ve done on the browser version and reverts back to how it was before. Order: for some reason, the order of items added later in the week changes constantly and I’m real time. I can see the items moving place and there’s no way to halt or change it. This real time change is new. Up until now, the browser version would also change the order anytime I refreshed the page (super frustrating too). Crashes: the app crashes several times a day No desktop app: I’ve been hoping for this feature for a long time and continue to hope it’ll be added soon Even with those issues, I’m glad i paid for it and I’d still recommend this app, so I’m leaving this review in the hopes that the developers will see it and be able to fix these bugs that make an otherwise fantastic app just a bit faulty. And to whoever designed the app visually, great job!.Version: 2.0.2

No Location Reminder AlertsHi, Beautifully designed app, however, there’s no option to ret a reminder when reaching a desired location. This option is already available on the native apple reminders app :(.Version: 1.8.5

It’s just not very goodIt’s quite aesthetically pleasing but that’s overshadowed by being very buggy. Buggy to the point of being annoying. Some ‘bugs’ might be just that’s it’s not very intuitive or logical until you’ve got used to but it’s none the less frustrating. Then it asks you to subscribe for it which just feels insulting and is probably the time you delete it and look elsewhere..Version: 1.7.6

Poor App. Don’t buyUnfortunately, I have bought a yearly subscription of this app. Before this one I used Productivity App. The later is not that bad until I downloaded Moleskine Actions app. Moleskine Action doesn’t organize the actions by time even if you set a specific reminder time. I have ordered them according to when I do the action, and then I move them and organize them when they appear on my Today list. However, everything gets missed up again the next day, and I have to re-organize again (everyday). When I create a folder that consists of similar Actions, sometimes and without any reason the Actions disappeared, and then appeared again the next day. When you complete the Action and swipe right, it goes to the completed list, however the later list is unpractically done. They list all the Actions without a dates. It just accumulate and you don’t have any sense of your achievement for a particular day. It’s stupid. Also, there is no Skip option when you decide not to do the action or in case if you forget it. Instead the Action remains in your list for the second day and you end up having 2 or 3 of the same Actions. I intended to use this app to help me create a routine for all the important little things that I forget or I don’t have a time to think about, such as my meals timings, gym, watering my plants etc. This app is useless and not worth any of your money. I feel really disappointed that such a great well-known company as Moleskine create such a poor app. Knowing I always buy my agenda books from this company..Version: 1.5.1

Can’t Connect To NetworkEverytime I try loading this app to start it, it goes cant connect to network. Even though I have full bars and everything else works at full speed. This is really annoying, since I’m trying to use it but won’t even let me start up the app..Version: 1.8.0

Buggy messI’ve been using this for a while but the bugs and terrible UI means I’ve finally given up. If you like a nice clear list that works across platforms don’t get this - use Reminders instead. If you install this across two devices (surely the point of a reminder app) you’ll end up with duplications that keep popping up, the two devices won’t sync with each other until you open them so everything will be out of date on one device and then it’ll duplicate it all again if you’ve scheduled something as a recurring task. It looks pretty - don’t be fooled into subscribing..Version: 1.9.3

Good app but NOT comprehensiveIt’s a great to-do list app with good functionality and personalization. I really like how well it works with Timepage app and the rollover function. This app’s schedule function is quite intuitive and i find it to be helpful and effective. I find that once I put my tasks in and set the due date and reminders it does really well at making sure my task isn’t forgotten about but also isn’t annoying and causing me to be less productive as other apps do. There are things about this app that I am not as fond of such as bottom task bar. The bottom bar is awkward because the icon you press for the settings is in the bottom left hand corner and the settings menu appears on the right side of the page when you click on it along with various other oddly placed icons. Also the list function is very separated and the transition takes away functionality from the lists. My last negative is that I have trouble with setting the reminders. I want to set my self like every other day reminders in advance of the task and it’s time consuming to do. Also I found that this app was not capable of functioning as a homework assignment list and as a life planner. Overall it works well for helping you get things done on a time schedule but I wouldn’t call it an all in one. I would be really interested in a academic comprehensive version from this developer!.Version: 1.4.1

Not FreeTo use this app it is $26.49 a year (not bad) you get 1 week trial. But you can not use this app at all without signing up, (read mode only).Version: 1.9.5

Useful for limited purposesI’m not a big fan of the “tile” interface in general, it uses a lot of space for very little information, and this app uses it exclusively. If you just want to track a couple of especially critical tasks per day and be able to easily track when they’re done, and easily reschedule the ones you missed, this is a nice simple way to do that and integrates with the TimePage app, so it is especially useful if you rely on that routinely to view your integrated schedule. As a general task tracking app though, it is very weak. The views and reporting are very limited, and the interface quickly gets overwhelmed if you have a lot to do or want to plan more than a couple of days ahead. This is a good app for keeping yourself on track for a few focused tasks over a brief period of time. I used it very successfully for example to track my medications and pt sessions every day while recovering from surgery, by planning my routine a week at a time..Version: 1.1.0

Not able to mark actions completed?App seems to be buggy. I completed some actions yesterday which seem to have come back today and now when I swipe to complete them they simply get crossed off and then reappear uncompleted. Actions also not moving to logbook even though it’s set in preferences to move them after 1 day....Version: 1.8.1

PromisingObviously they are developing, and while I still use Todoist I’m definitely excited to follow the development of this app as I am an avid fan of Timepage. I hope one day I can use this app over Todoist, but currently the app does not live up to my expectations of a todo list app. However, it is also very disappointing that the creators of the refined Timepage didn’t create a more polished app before going live— it’s not like you’re doing something new, there’s plenty of good todo list apps to work ideas from, my favorite example being Todoist. Obviously, if you want users you need to work with the crowd who enjoy the brand, and the only way you’ll do that successfully is if you provide a equivalent experience as other apps such as Todoist. I think the possibility of a desktop app will bring great improvement, but otherwise it’s still a work in progress. Also, taking money before having a finished product? I’ll ignore it because of Timepage, but that’s a little... distasteful..Version: 1.0.5

Beautiful but missing important featureIt’s a beautiful app, as are all Moleskine products (software and “hardware”), but I can’t use it as my default to-do app. Add one feature: give me the ability to add a checklist to any action card — and you would have a totally satisfied customer. As an example of what I mean: let’s say I have a list called Groceries. In that list I have a card for Dairy and a card for Bread. On the Dairy card, I have a checklist with the items: milk; cottage cheese; yogurt; cheddar. On the Bread card, I have sandwich bread; bagels; croisssants. If I had to create a separate card for each of those individual items, the list would quickly become impossible to navigate. With it: a piece of cake. Which goes on the Dessert card..Version: 1.7.5

⛔️ NOT FREE AT ALLThey only offer a 7-day trial, so you forget about cancelling and then charge you an entire year. Taking out right now :).Version: 3.0.3

Needs MacOS integrationNeeds macOS integration.Version: 1.6.2

Crashes too oftenLike the layout, use between iPad and watch to keep uni coursework in order. The problem I have is the app keeps freezing and I have to delete app and download quite often. For a paid subscription I would expect a fully functioning product with out glitches. Will probably continue to use for uni because of the system I’ve gotten used to but unlikely to use it beyond this..Version: 2.2.2

Kinda pointlessThis app doubles up on another app - Time Page. Works well enough but without the ability to sync with Apple’s Reminders it’s a deal breaker for me..Version: 1.2.3

Justify the subscription cost before charging itI have had this app for a while but it fell into the forgotten pile. I recently saw it featured and thought I would giv it another look to see it it now fit my needs. Create list, give us money. Hang on, I want to know if the reason it didn’t suit my requirements has gone away in the version upgrades since I started using it. I can’t even create a list, add a couple of things to it, move a couple of things around to see how the app handles what it now promises? Nope, money or nothing. I didn’t need to use the app, just enough play to justify spending an on-going subscription cost that would be fine if it solved my needs. It is a shame that apps no longer have to function before in-app fees are demanded. You lost me and any future recommendations..Version: 1.5.1

Not actually free... thanksVery deceiving. Get through the beginning of the app explaining how to use it; then suddenly discover upon clicking ANYTHING, it tells me to pay. Downloaded annnnnnd deleted immediately 👍🏼.Version: 1.7.8

ALMOST thereWe’re always on the hunt for the perfect app and this one almost had it, I like the integration with Timepage but I would rather the subscription be across both apps even if it’s a little more expensive. 1 price covering the extend of this suite or different tariffs. Also I find the logbook tab a little pointless because it only shows what you’ve already done, I would love for it to show what’s actually on my to do list all in one (including the other card ones) whilst the other tab shows them on particular days. Also as far as ux goes, having the settings button on the left but then appear on the right it’s a little weird on the brain, please switch the card button and settings around and have them animate from the side they've been tapped from. I hope this is productive feedback, really enjoy the app otherwise, specially the Apple Watch integration, just needs a few small tweaks and changes and no doubt it will be better..Version: 1.5.4

Poor executionThe idea seems good but I have been unable to use it since my free membership is not recognised. I am constantly met with the window to take out a membership. If I click ‘restore purchases’ I get a nice big tick on the screen before it immediately goes back to the same membership screen. There’s no way in hell I’d rent this software. Perhaps a once off license fee if they sort out the bugs..Version: 1.0.2

Poor on syncingWon’t sync to widget, won’t sync to desktop. Good format which makes the rest of the poor performance disappointing.Version: 1.9.1

Functions need ironing outGood looking app and first off seems very user friendly however .... had it for about 2 weeks and then the functionality issues start to become apparent. When you set up with all your colour coded lists seems great but then trying to do something simple like confirming a new action can become extremely irritating in that you have to keep hitting the tiny little tick and nothing happens then suddenly you get 2 inputs at once and have to delete one. When this happens repeatedly it just becomes too annoying to bear. If it is because my phone is to old/slow (iPhone 6s plus) then maybe there should be some notice (but then you wouldn’t buy it?). When you can get free apps that do the job more efficiently than this one it’s hard to justify the cost I’m afraid!..Version: 1.2.0

Put a price on your appThis app is pointless when the only thing that’s free is the download. Could at least have some of the features for free instead of only being able to use on a trial or subscription. I’d rather see a price on it then waste time downloading when the content isn’t actually free. Same for the sister apps..Version: 1.9.5

App won't open on iPhone 7Love it otherwise. Will change to 5 star upon fix. Please help..Version: 1.8.0

Not worth moneyWhy would they add a subscription for a to do checklist app. Nice app, but not worth paying monthly, maybe a one time fee..Version: 1.6.2

Lacking with Empty PromisesI really want to give my money and go all in. I would even pay more! As I look through the feature requests they all seem to masked with the hope of “under review”. The one most glaring feature, syncing with Apple Reminders has been in this status for over 5 years. The funny thing is that Moleskine has sister apps that already do this. I proceeded to send an email to ask…. 5 years of “under review” feels a little much, and the response was, great news, this feature is under review with no timeline. Hands down, this ecosystem would be absolutely amazing if the Moleskine team encouraged collaboration between their product teams to make what feels to be a basic feature expectation in this day and age happen. Or, if that is just not going to happen, the company should not hide behind “under review” for over 5 years and keep people hanging. What does this do for brand reputation?.Version: 3.3.4

Not bad but could be betterI like the design that you can group tasks and just drag them to the date section. But as I always wanted to see what I did in a specific date, this app doesn’t give me the date for the tasks completed. I can only see a list of what I’ve done for the past few weeks, but not in specific dates..Version: 1.7.5

Incompatible app versionHi, since I have updated my phone to iOS 15, I have been getting this message for my moleskin apps asking me to update my apps. My apps are however already up to date. I placed my request here because your support website couldn’t be reached (I’m in Australian). I used to love this app and still I am trying to improve my day to day workflow, I still think Actions and Timepage will be a big part of achieving the ideal workflow I want. Could you please look into this? Thanks for your effort..Version: 1.9.5

5 Star design 2 star priceI know Moleskine needs to make money. I get it. But charging a second $12 a year on top of the $12 if you already use Timepage is a bit much. That also means Moleskine believes both apps have equal value, which I’m just not sure is true. I’ve seen a dev response that explains that Apple doesn’t allow bundling, but that’s an awfully misleading answer and puts the owness on Apple for something Moleskine could accommodate. Charge a few more dollars a month total and make both Timepage and Actions available for subscribers. Done. Both apps already use the same account info anyway. It also makes more sense from a marketing perspective to pay a slightly higher subscription price but get access to all of Moleskine’s apps (as I’m sure more will come in the future). That’s a much easier sell when you pit Actions against the competition, which kind of blows it away in terms of functionality..Version: 1.5.3

Looks great- but unstableThis is a great looking app however it’s very unstable on my iPhone X. The most common crash I have experienced is when changing the frequency of an action to daily- this seems to crash the app more often than not. For a fairly high subscription price- this is disappointing..Version: 1.6.1

Time to move onIt is time to move on. I have had this app for almost two years now. I also have their calendar app TimePage. They both used to work pretty well. As they add more and more stuff and functionality to be and look cooler, the bugs just increase. Now it freezes every time I open it, it freezes in the middle of typing new actions (or new events in TimePage), syncing has just gotten worse and is also a daily problem (and I don’t even have an Apple watch), and actions that are supposed to repeat disappear. I have an iPhone XS and a recent iPad Pro running the latest system updates. Hardware and operating system is not the problem. I have contacted the developer through support a number of times over the last 6 or so months. Responses include questions and intentions and nothing gets better. But here comes another update with more cool stuff! Priority one is that it works flawlessly. The cool additional stuff doesn’t matter until it just works. Seems to be a theme with their apps - keep adding more stuff as basic performance degrades. I have to question their testing protocols. Perhaps we the customers are their testing protocol. The apps has a 4.7 rating over it’s life. Go sort reviews by most recent and make your own determination. They are clearly pretty apps. You will quickly get frustrated. Look elsewhere..Version: 1.8.5

Free Trial🤷‍♀️The app advertises that you get a FREE TRIAL for 1WEEK with all in-app purchases opened. Sooooooo, WHERE’S THE FREE TRIAL?!?!?! Anytime you try to do something it asks you to subscribe to either a month or a year. Talk about FALSE ADVERTISING!!! Definitely would’ve been interested in subscribing, but if they’ve lied about this... what else will they lie about???🤷‍♀️ REALLY DISSAPPOINTED😑.Version: 1.6.2

Won’t use because of repeat task handlingWon’t use, but the app’s attractive and simple. I need tasks (actions) to repeat a fixed number of days after their last completion, and this app cannot handle that. Other apps handle this simply and efficiently. Actions also has an very odd way of handling other repeated tasks that means you may not see actions that you have due tomorrow until midnight on the day they are due. This makes looking ahead to next day’s workload inaccurate. When queried, Customer Support keep explaining the difference between the app’s existing two ways of handling repeated actions, but never acknowledge these missing abilities. It feels as though superficial developments are made by user voting, yet these omissions around repeating actions are fundamental and need to be added as a priority. The irony is that once these are addressed, it’ll outshine other action-handling apps by its attractive interface, but at the moment it’s style over substance..Version: 3.1.1

FraudulentThis should be removed from the App Store, as it is claiming to have free content without actually doing so. You cannot do anything, anything at all without signing up for the full fat subscription. Even other subscription apps, like for example headspace, will let you trial the content in a meaningful way – not so with this. I do hope Apple cracks down on this kind of behaviour, it really reduces the quality of the App Store..Version: 1.9.3

Does not integrate with Apple RemindersI paid for a years sub for this app, because I had been using flow for notes. However the actions I create DO NOT appear in the Reminders App. This is a fundamental requirement for me, and so will not be renewing my subscriptions..Version: 1.9.5

Purchased Annual Studio Subscription but NO ACCESS!!!Constantly bringing me back to subscribe screen even though I purchased the annual studio subscription! I hav3 NO acces to any of the apps 👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽.Version: 1.8.0

Beautiful, but so buggyI’ve been picking up, and putting down this app for a while now, really wanting to love it. The thing that lets it down is the less than seamless experience when using the app across devices and bugs that leave you in an unrecoverable state. The web app is a great start, but after purchasing a subscription I’m only able to use the app on my phone, when ever I open the actions app on my iPad it crashes on launch. Really disappointed. I might have to request a refund at this rate, yet again to try a competitor until the bugs are fixed. I want to like this product, as I really do think it’s innovative, and beautiful, which is important; but not at the expense of it actually working.Version: 1.9.3

“Free App” ScamAbsolute joke of a “free app”. Can’t use any single aspect of it without paying. It literally says after downloading it, it’s in ‘Read-only mode’. So if you want to just stare at an app with no functionality whatsoever, this is it!.Version: 1.9.5

Why would anyone use this?I am a huge fan and original adopter of Moleskine’s wonderful Timepage app. The key to Timepage being useful, however, is that it integrates seamlessly with iCloud so things to enter on your iPhone or iPad also appear on your laptop or desktop Mac calendar (I use Fantastical 2, and Timepage integrates perfectly). This is ESSENTIAL for any scheduling, reminder, or organizational App used for productivity. It is a huge and mind-boggling disappointment that ACTIONS does not do the same thing. Plus, Moleskine expects us, even their own loyal Timepage subscribers, to pay an additional subscription fee for ACTIONS when it is not able to be use across platforms. Why would anyone subscribe for a To Do list app that does not show your To Do events/tasks on your laptop or desktop, but only on your mobile devices? It screams out disorganization and will result in confusion and missed tasks/appointments. I will gladly pay for ACTIONS, and WANT to do so, but not until it works with Apple Reminders or they offer an MacOS version. Come on Moleskine, you are better than this!.Version: 1.3.2

Nice ui - im not paying for something without trying it forstWhy also would I need human support? the apps aren’t that complicated, well at least from a distance, I couldn't even try it to tell..Version: 1.9.5

No support!Paid full subscription on the basis that I could use the app with Siri as described. Despite following the advice on the App Siri could not recognise where I wanted to file my actions. I do not need yet another tap to text app. I tried to use the Help to get advice and got a generic email back saying they don’t respond to messages and to see their FAQ page. Since I had already tried that and my issue was not addressed I am feeling ripped off and appalled at the total lack of aftercare and customer service! Unless you want to text everything in as you would in any free calendar it’s a total waste of storage space and money!!.Version: 1.1.2

Subscription for a to-do app?I would consider even if you sell it at $10, but subscription just for a to-do app? No thanks.Version: 1.0.2

All style and no substanceNo denying it looks great, but that’s about it. It’s buggy, lacks functionality and the basics that it does have don’t work: sloooooooow performance, duplicate tasks appearing, no ‘bulk’ actions like archive or purge (have to do it task by slowly refreshing task), poor date handling, the app hangs, it takes MULTIPLE steps to add a task (no shortcuts), minimal filtering, no desktop integration.... Out of frustration I’ve just switched to a free app and it’s a much more professional offering. I’m really surprised that Moleskine have released something commercially that feels very much like a ‘first draft’..Version: 1.5.4

AwkwardLooks great, but not very intuitive. I end up closing the app all the time because I can’t figure out how to escape from what I’m doing. Had promise, and would use if it was free, but it’s not worth paying for monthly..Version: 1.6.1

Getting thereThis is app is so much fun to use. Unique design and intuitive. But, no rich text and lack of media support are big let downs for me..Version: 3.0

Why do I have to pay?Why do I have to pay? Like I thought I could actually get things done but I can’t because I have to pay!.Version: 1.8.1

Nice appI enjoy Timepage app - beautiful, user friendly, nice application. This one as well is amazing, however, only one misfunctionality stops me from using them both: there are no integration with iOS native reminders. I really want to see them in the planner! And would be nice to see them in the Actions, as an additional lists, syncing all updates. It’s absolutely possible to do: Rooster app, is old but does this amazingly. However, it’s not so beautiful. So! I would be happy to pay more, but please add native reminders support to both apps..Version: 1.9.5

Can’t unsubscribeVery annoyed that there is no unsubscribe option in my options, even though it says their should be. Only two options given are one month or one year. I don’t want to use it anymore but must pay forever? Also can’t send emails through the aps help centre. The send button won’t send? Wasting lots if time to work out how to cancel something is very frustrating!!!!.Version: 1.5.6

Still UnreliableCustomer service has stopped responding to requests for support and they refuse to address known bugs. Nice app when it works but it often does not work. This app continues to disappoint with a very significant bug. Reminders do not work consistently with recurring tasks. Several times I have missed deadlines due to Actions not reminding me to complete a task when I had scheduled the reminder to occur. This happens often enough that the app is completely unreliable. I have contacted the developer numerous times and we even had a phone conversation about this issue last summer. Updates have come out since then, but this issue has still not been addressed. Whenever I email the developer to remind them I get a response that they are aware of the issue and hope to address it in a future release - it’s been several months and there is still no solution. For an app that expects the user to pay an ongoing subscription, this is unacceptable. After numerous disappointments and no action taken by the developer to resolve a significant bug I would not recommend this app..Version: 1.5.6

Been waiting 2 years for the promised desktop version.Really hate the business model moleskin have employed here. Whilst I understand that apps have teething problems and require new versions to be released to deal with those problems, I really don’t like the idea of releasing a barely functioning product - especially when they ask premium prices for said product. This app looks great but that means nothing when it offers zero connectivity to other platforms - desktop, cloud etc..Version: 1.8.1

DisappointingI was very excited when I saw this app, it reminded me of an app I used to have, that I had a permanent subscription on, but stopped working for no reason around March last year. I opened the app, flipped through the tutorial and then noticed that there was already some to dos listed: the items I had put on the list last year before the app stopped working. It’s the same app, except now I don’t have a life time subscription..Version: 1.8.1

Update causing tasks to randomly jump aroundI’ve been using actions for about a year. No complaints until now. I use a combination of the iPhone app (iPhone XS) and web app on Google chrome (windows 10). iPhone app used to capture actions on the move and web app during working hours to crunch through tasks. I find it helpful to order the tasks that are due today with most important on top. This no longer works!!! Whenever I open or refresh the app or web app the shifts and I can see tasks jumping all over the place meaning the most important tasks are no longer on top and buried amongst lower priority tasks. Please fix this asap as it’s beyond mildly frustrating!.Version: 2.1.2

Paid appHi there, I suggest to app developer to stop allowing people to download it for free and then asking for money right after that. It is not cool to waste people’s time. I wouldn’t have spent my 15 minutes for downloading and realizing that you can use it only if you pay 31$/year..Version: 3.1.2

Not worth itI don’t usually write reviews on apps but I had to say this was a rubbish app. Within the space of two days of using it, it wouldn’t let me create a new reminder and instead popped up saying you had to pay to write another one. I was very unhappy at this point as I had only just started using the app and it had been made really unclear of any in app purchases. I personally thought it was free. I would understand if they were asking for a payment at the end of a month but two days is way to early to be asking for money from someone who’s barley used the app..Version: 1.5.4

Hidden suscriptionNot a free app. Needs a monthly subscription. Could have been nice to show this information before downloading..Version: 1.7.1

With every click it prompts you to upgradeI downloaded this App and it was a complete waste of my time. With every click it displays a screen prompting you to pay and upgrade the App. An utter waste of your time!.Version: 1.8.1

Unfortunately, immediate text size issue after first installAt first I thought everything looked good but without any preference changes at all including that text size preference, most of my reminders imported from apples reminders list, the text doesn’t fit properly and gets cut off on the top and the bottom in the title line (schedule view only). Doesn’t happen to all of them but to most of them. About the only way I can see the full text for those lines is to set the actions preference text size to the smallest size. I was initially using the system size setting and that didn’t work either even using a few different system font sizes. Hard to get to know the app when that’s the first thing you see. Update: quick response from developer. Uninstalled and reinstalled app with new version and problem went away. Changing from two stars to four. Need more time to evaluate other features now. Update: problem with text being cutoff on top and bottom is back with latest version. Back to two stars. And since this seems pretty basic, I’m down evaluating it, at least for now..Version: 1.9.4

I’m confused 🤔Do I need to pay the app to continue using it because each time I try to add a reminder a page pops up showing the prices to buy it. I would want to continue the app without paying. Do you guys do that?.Version: 1.2.7

Won’t allow me to subscribe!I downloaded this app last week and started the free trial. As a high schools AP student, I find that this app was very helpful and kept me organized so when the trial was up, I signed up for the monthly subscription. On the subscription screen, when I pressed continue, a pop up read that I needed to verify my credit card info in my settings. When I pressed continued on the pop up, it directed me to the app store asking for my credit card info. It then redirected me to my settings, and then to the apple ID website. I saw that none of these methods were working. Typing in my credit card info multiple times, my subscription was unsuccessful. I tried to re-enter my credit card info more than 3 times and kept taking me through the same process. I am though, very aware that this could be an issue with apple as well. But I really like this app and I’m highly disappointed that my subscription isn’t processing. I certainly hope that I am not being scammed (of my hard earned money), due to the numerous amount of times I was asked for my credit card info. I really hope that this can be fixed..Version: 1.5.1

Can’t even get it to workI downloaded this app with great excitement; it seemed the perfect creative solution for me! But I went through the introduction section and was met with an error message that said “Can’t connect to network. Actions require a network connection to finish setting up”. I’ve deleted and reinstalled it multiple times AND tried it on different devices, but I get the same error message every single time. Not sure what’s going on 🤷‍♀️.Version: 2.1.13

Needs better reminder functionsWish there were more visible reminders when a task was due / overdue - would really appreciate a badge app icon.Version: 1.5.7

Gorgeous, but...The team at Molskine have done another superb job of making information feel simple and approachable, and easy to see *and understand* at a glance. That’s no small task, and the work they’ve done here with Actions (and earlier with Timepage) is absolutely superb. However... The interaction between Lists and Tasks is identical to what’s in iOS’ Reminders, but they don’t just access that iCloud data (as they do with Calendars in Timepage), they make their own. When making your own that point would be to create a better information organization model, but it’s identical. You can’t create a multi-step Task that you want to do today, you have to make a List and then put every Task in that List into your day. There’s no better way to create a slightly more complex task (“make food for the week” could have 7-8 steps you might want to keep order of, but that has to be a List). If there were a slightly more detailed data footprint vs Reminders, I’d love that. Or integration with Reminders, so I could connect to that information in other places too. But lack of both is ... well, it’s really odd. Also, while swiping to mark done is the method on the phone, for some odd reason it’s a long-hold to make the line slide to the side to reveal the Done marker. Swiping to the side to make the line slide to the side would make MUCH more sense - that’s a small detail, yet utterly baffling..Version: 1.5.7

Unusable syncingThe syncing just doesn’t work. I mostly use the Apple Watch version and every time I open Actions up on my iPad it iPhone it’s filled with garbage. The phone and tablet don’t even stay synced together. I have to constantly do the same thing I already did on my watch on one of the other devices. Sometimes I just leave the third device in whatever stare it’s in and sometimes I reinstall it since that’s apparently the only way to “force” it to realize that the data it’s displaying is not the data on the server. The only reason I’ve put up with this for so long is because I didn’t start having issues until after I migrated my entire life into Actions and it doesn’t offer any type of sync to the built in app. If you plan on using Actions on more than one device, I would suggest you don’t. Use another app. It reminds me of a good video game with poor controls. Sure it would be amazing, if you could only use it. But the thing that allows you to use it is broken..Version: 1.8.1

Need to add sync with caldav supported remindersI love the layout and the integration with Timepage, BUT . . . I don’t want to get locked into one ecosystem. Once you import your reminders they stop syncing with the reminder app..Version: 1.7.2

Good, but a few small annoying features which stop me wanting to use itI’m heavily reliant on my native reminders app, though saw Actions and wanted to give it a go. The cost is a downer, but if it makes work organising easier then it’s worth it. Generally it works well - it’s intuitive, minimal and looks smart. I’ve quickly got used to its functionality. But... It crashes. Not very often, but enough for it to annoy me. Secondly, it doesn’t function in split screen properly. The icons overlap and it clearly doesn’t appear to get what’s going on. For me, an app like this needs to be reliable above all else, given its purpose. And at present it’s falling short here..Version: 1.5.7

Unusable without a subscriptionWaste of time unless you definitely want to pay for it. I downloaded and then couldn't use any feature of the app without subscribing to the '7 day free trial' that you then have to cancel if you don't want it to automatically go into an annual membership. I want to test the features without having to sign-up to memberships etc. If it's good, THEN I'm willing to sign up for paid membership. I suspect I'm not alone in this..Version: 3.1.2

Impossible to complete a task!Great app but there are bugs that make it unusable. I downloaded Timepage and Actions on both my iPad and iPhone and bought the paid subscriptions. When I complete a task by swiping it, it crosses the task momentarily then it keeps coming back, no matter how many times I “complete” it on both devices, it keeps coming back. This makes the app unusable. Please fix..Version: 1.8.1

Not as good as it might beDisclaimer: I am an autistic person and this is likely to affect how I interact with and experience software. YMMV. Actions looks pretty and integrates nicely with Timepage. That said, currently the only reason I would subscribe is because of that integration and not because I want to use the app itself. The main issues for me are as follows: 1. Siri has yet to recognize any commands other than the ones that are pre-programmed into the app, which seriously curtails the app’s usefulness against even Apple’s built-in Reminders. The latter work seamlessly with voice commands and recognizes times, places, and other variables, whereas I still haven’t figured out what syntax I’m supposed to use to get Siri to create a new action, even after visiting the app’s support webpage and finding its suggested phrasing. 2. It’s not nearly as intuitive as it seems on the surface, and finding out why something isn’t behaving as expected takes a fair bit of digging. So - possibly intuitive but only after a learning curve. 3. Being able to customize colors is really nice, but the choice of colors (and this applies to Timepage as well) is limited to ones I find much too deep or much too bright. A ‘transparency’ type slider would be an invaluable addition for those of us who have issues with overly-intense visual input..Version: 1.6.2

Enjoy itIts great however a shame to see the subscription fee. I will not continue to use once subscription runs out..Version: 1.0.2

Improving but has bugs and is in no man’s landIt’s probably one of the best looking task list apps out there. Now with sub tasks and deadlines which is good to see. But… the smart language recognition isn’t there yet. It gets the date but never picks up the time for the reminder. For the simplicity of the lists, I find the built in reminders app does a better job and it’s free. For more advance task management with deadlines this isn’t really that great compared the many of the alternatives. Things 3 is the best for this. But you also have the likes of Tick Tick or Todoist that do a far superior job to Actions. Sure actions is cheaper than the subscription based apps above, but if you need more than apple reminders, do yourself a favour and get something built for it such as Things with its one of purchase to own. Essentially, for me, Actions seems to land in no man’s land between a basic todo list and trying to be something more and unfortunately only achieving a win in the good looks department….Version: 3.1.1

Not bad, but comparable FREE alternativesPretty good. But not worth the money when you can get the same for free..Version: 1.0.2

Pay and for what?Nothing extraordinary that will cost you money.Version: 1.8.5

Not for power usersBeautiful app. A bit buggy at times which mean I have to reset it and Timepage often for the synching to get up to speed. I use Timepage as my go-to calendar app, but cannot use Actions that much because it is too limited: Doesn't allow for attachments. Too clunky when creating or editing an action. Cannot mark projects as completed. Have to delete them instead. Interface sometimes scrunches the text. No inbox No tagging Repeats can be a bit wonky A beautiful little app that might be good for the occasional user, but not for hardcore power users..Version: 1.9.5

WidgetGood design of the widget layout but won’t sync! Happened between the Timepage and Action too. Get tired of this..Version: 1.9.5

Getting worse instead of betterMost recent update was supposed to “improve performance” of the app. Instead, it has almost completely bricked it. I run Actions on a brand new iPad Pro, and the performance is worse after the update; the app now lags for almost 60 seconds before updating simple task changes like a reminder time change. Moleskine has been promising for a YEAR that a version for Mac OS/Web is coming so we can actually see our tasks across all devices, and they have gone radio-silent and that version is still not released. And, Actions STILL cannot sync with iCloud reminders. So, while I think there are some apps that can ethically-justify charging a subscription fee to defray the costs of continuously-improving the app, Actions is NOT one of them. I would discourage anyone not already using this buggy app from starting to use it now. I hope Moleskine gets their act together because the app has a lot of potential, but it just doesn’t work well now..Version: 1.5.7

Simple, pleasing, useful and buggyMoleskine devs, thank you for this lovely lovely app. I use it every day. I love the subtle things that make it really pleasing to use - the little noises, the swiping, it all adds to the reward and sense of completion . Here comes the however - it’s buggy as anything: duplicate and triplicate versions of a task added at once, a lot of crashes (almost daily), sometimes a very slow load, or only loads tasks not in lists, can’t add to list, can’t switch a task from one list to another. Please - before any more of these misguided Siri features (really, who is asking for Siri features?) - nail down this core functionality. Yours lovingly, Harry..Version: 1.3.3

No tags!I LOVE the look and feel of this app but, tags are a big part of my time management system . Without them the app just won’t work for me. Verrry disappointing since it has everything else I need..Version: 1.7.2

Too expensiveI LOVE moleskine notebooks for my artwork, so I thought this pairing - the calendar and then the To-Do app seemed a great match. Then the subscription... I'll buy an app to own, but this subscription business is getting rediculous. I can't afford subsriptions for all of these apps. So, I have Awesome calendar and Organize Pro..Version: 1.5.6

Broken since last update. (Again)I've contacted the Devs twice with no reply. When you add items to your list, they suddenly start moving all around and then they disappear permanently. No one can use it when it's like this and it has been for days. This is third time in a few months that's there's been major issues. I need to get another app (one that works) so I want my money back..Version: 1.2.7

Love the look. But glitchy. After 3 days of the trial period I found this app too finicky to pay for. When you create an action it will only apply itself to your schedule tab on the first save. If you edit times or dates after, or add repeats, the change isn’t transferred. I also cannot find a way to transpose the action into Timepage after the initial save. You have to delete it and start over to get access to that feature again. If you are in a rush and want to change things at a more convenient moment you are stuck starting over to get the desired results. There are also too many swiping gestures and it is easy to accidentally delete/complete things while trying to navigate. If these issues were repaired it would probably tip the scales to a 5 star, and convince me to pay, as beyond these issues, I like the flow and appearance of this suite way more than the default Apple line..Version: 1.7.2

Beautiful App but clunky and slowLooks incredible, but I’m using it on an iPhone X, and it’s always a beat too slow to launch, and like Timepage feels rather clunky and unintuitive to use; I keep deleting tasks when I want to confirm them due to the position of the buttons. Also it doesn’t work well with Siri, and in the end I primarily wanted to quickly create reminders and calendar inputs with my voice, which lead me going back to the stock apps. All of this would be forgivable if it didn’t cost over £20 for a years subscription for the two apps; Action and Timepage should really be a single app..Version: 1.5.6

Pricing strategy sucksNice very simple, good looking app. Not free but at least no ads. Then you realize it is not a « pay to own » but « a pay to subscibe ». You have to rebuy continuously those Moleskine apps that are just better looking apps than the free ones.... I would maybe actually pay to own this app, but will never subscribe. Stupid. Rethink your pricing strategy..Version: 1.5.4

No support - Gets buggy after adding more than 200 actions - no export optionCanceled my account cause no one cares to answer a simple question on this team..Version: 2.1.3

Huge privacy concerns. Also a rip-offPretty much the first thing you should do before downloading any app these days is check the privacy policy. Look at Moleskine Actions in the app store on your device and guess what? The privacy policy isn't hyperlinked. So you can't click on it or copy the text into a browser. Instead, you have to manually type the entire URL. It's almost like they don't want you to read it, huh? So let me help you out. This app wants to read all of your cookies. It will continuously access your approximate location, without you knowing. It will read your calendar and it wants access to all of your contacts. It takes your device ID, and it knows your full name. It knows your email address. And every single thing you type into this app will be known, read and shared by Moleskine. This is horrific. Also this app is a direct rip-off of Realmac's Clear ToDos, which had been around for 5-6 years and is way better than this app. AVOID IF YOU VALUE YOUR PRIVACY..Version: 1.5.3
