Doesn’t work!I can’t even access the game. I paid for it last night but the icon just says “Loading”. If I go in to the AppStore it gives me he option to pay again, then says I’ve already purchased but would I like to update. It doesn’t matter if I say yes or cancel, the game still says Loading! Help!.Version: 1.6

Very DisappointingNo problem with the controls, the idea is sound. Exploring the area is fine, but the puzzles become tedious in the extreme. In fact the same repetitive puzzle again and again with incomprehensible solutions. Even using a walkthrough, I totally fail to understand how the solution has been reached. (Maybe that’s just me being thick). In the end I gave up, even with a walkthrough..Version: 1.95

One of the best puzzle games ever madeBut for the love of god please put a virtual joystick in there to control it with!!.Version: 1.6

Great game but not meant for touch controlsThis is a very large game with several brilliant puzzles. Content wise it is well worth the purchase price. However the game was clearly not designed for IOS. Too many of the puzzles, especially the environmental ones, require pixel perfect positioning to solve them. With the touch to move mechanic, you have to look away to tap a new location and it is a game of guess and check. You also can’t look down far enough for slight movement so finding the required perfect position is down to luck. It is very frustrating when you solved the path for the solution, but just can’t do it because of controls. The puzzles are also slightly harder because your finger covers the puzzle as you try to solve it. This is a really good game with brilliant logic puzzles and really does make you feel accomplished when you solve them. If this is the only way you can play it, it is worth the $10, but I recommend playing the game on another platform if possible..Version: 1.95

DisappointingIn the absence of a storyline, the puzzles quickly become annoying..Version: 1.3

Controls awful on mobileThe controls are terrible the game relies on perspective and also large distances between puzzles. Both are extreme pain points with this control scheme..Version: 1.95

Concept perfect for mobile, software.. less soFirst thing’s first - this game is a masterpiece. Incredible. I bought the Witness on PS4 earlier this year and immediately saw that the concept would be perfect on mobile. So when it came out, I bought it straight away. And the game is MADE for the small-screen. BUT: I am on iPhone 6, <12mo old, and I get 10 mins of playtime from full charge to ‘Low Power’ warning. It is just so resource-intensive that it invalidates the mobile format. I have to be attached to a power outlet at all times, so I might as well be on the PS4. If they can optimise performance more effectively, this will be perfect. Until then, stick with the console, and keep taking photos of the screen to work puzzles out in your lunchbreak ;-).Version: 1.3

Still no!This app might have been updated recently but it still won't download to my nice new 10.5" iPad Pro, let alone install. Pity!.Version: 1.3

Doesn’t work on iPad Air 3 os 13.3Doesn’t work..Version: 1.9

Love it and Hate itThis game has a lot of 5 star qualities. The pros: The map for one is huge and wandering around is fun. Stumbling on to new puzzles is exciting. And periodically you get some interesting information on the story line. The graphics are pretty good for an iPhone game. Not great, but still pretty cool. The amount of puzzles in the game is staggering. Those are all the positives. The cons: this game is aggravating. I consider myself to be good at puzzles and pretty smart and I have a rough time with many of them. To the point where I had to start relying on walk throughs to help me. And in some cases the puzzles are so annoying they almost make you give up on the game. There are also environmental puzzles that are freaking impossible to find or do unless you have a walk through. I don't think a single person can do this game on their own. It's also very tedious at times and all of the puzzles are nearly the same. It gets old after a while. Honestly if it wasn't for my stubbornness I would quit. So, it has its good qualities and it's bad. Sometimes I wonder if it's worth all the hassle if I'm not really having fun. The discovering part is really fun but the puzzles are so tedious and boring. Once I finish the game I'll update this review..Version: 1.6

A great game but lost my save twiceOk this game seems amazing.. but it now has lost my save twice the first time I was a couple of hours in and as I started the game again back at the first tunnel.. The second tone I was even further in about 3.5 hours... and then today I went to play I’m back at the start again... I’m giving it one more go before I request refund!.Version: 1.5

Dont buy itI cant even play it as the controls are so bad, you simply require a mouse for a game like this I want a refund As this is unplayable and I would rather spend my money on the computer one.Version: 1.8

Waste of timeThis game is pointless. You walk around a huge landscape aimlessly hoping to stumble on a puzzle that is a version of the last 10 you have just completed. Don’t waste your time OR your money. this game should be $1 at most..Version: 1.6

Not what I expectedHaving played this for a while and solved a number of the puzzles, I began to find it boring, irritating and repetitive. It has been compared to the Myst games, but it is nothing like them. Both Myst and Fireproof's The Room series are far more attractive both visually and intellectually. Games for tablets are so cheap that I don't think much about the cost, but this is one I really regret buying..Version: 1.6

BadBoring rubbish and overpriced no game here.Version: 1.6

Frustrating on touchscreensBeautiful and challenging game. I love it except for one big problem—many puzzles rely on lining up elements in a scene so that from a particular point of view, the puzzle solution can be seen. On a touchpad it can take an painfully long time to get precisely the correct position and camera angle to line things up correctly. A bit off with your panning, move a bit too far forward or back, left or right, and you won’t see the solution. If you play this, do yourself a favor and use a keyboard rather than a touchscreen . Spending 40 minutes failing to get the right viewing angle without any way of doing small correction nudges with arrows really spoils the game..Version: 1.8

Won't download newest versionIt won't download pls tell me how to download it thx.Version: 1.3

Sucks. boring. You run around and solve the same puzzle repeatedly. no interacting with objects otherwise. you literally just walk to areas, solve a variation of the same puzzle on different panels and that’s it. i do not understand how anyone can like this and the price is absurd. i feel completely ripped off..Version: 1.9

Great game but the controls are an issue. The witness has tons of strengths. It's mentally challenging, beautiful, and it's sound scapes are so relaxing that my wife lovingly refers to it as the ”ASMR game” but I have a big problem with the controls. The app version of this game has you move your character by tapping on the space you want to occupy. This is great for most puzzles but a decent chunk require you to stand in an exact spot in order to solve and it is pretty much impossible to finely alter your stance with the point and click controls. In fact in one section I just said ”flip it” and looked up all the solutions because there was no joy in the solving..Version: 1.6

Good game but drains batteryI love the game but it drains my battery big time. So now I can't really play it on he go unless I have charging source close by..Version: 1.1

Good but update CONTROLSIt’s a great game and runs fairly well. One major gripe I have is that you have to press and hold on each start point of the puzzle, this causes your finger to block where your going. Change it so you won’t need to hold ON the circle but rather close beside it instead.Version: 1.1

Screen brightness bugFun game but a minor/slight annoying bug. I’ve noticed that the game automatically sets the brightness to halfway, even though I set it back down to minimum. It automatically shoots it back to halfway. The game is a bit hard to play at night when the screen is super bright and blinding you... EDIT: Even after the update, the screen brightness bug/issue is still bothering me so I revised my review from 4 stars to 3. Somewhat so that the bug is a game breaker for me as I usually play at night..Version: 1.1

Great game, frustrating controlsI love this game and have so many hours put into it on the PS4 version. I was enthralled with the idea of being able to take this game with me on the go and solve these puzzles on a touch screen (which makes so much sense). I was very disappointed to see that there is no option for virtual sticks which cripples the game. Touch to walk is so cumbersome. I’ve been playing for about five hours trying see if I could acclimate to the control scheme. I understand trying to push a touch to walk control scheme for a cleaner interface, but for a game that was not designed with a touch screen in mind, players need options for controls. I recommend buying this game on any other platform, but not for IOS, unless this issue is resolved.Version: 1.8

Lost all my progressLost all my progress in a game crash. Not really an acceptable thing to happen considering how much effort I put in... 1/5 for rubbish coding..Version: 1.2

This game is beautiful but…This game is beautiful but it is overwhelming hard. I grew up on games like Misty, I specifically look for games that mimic its game play. I absolutely adored games of that genre but this is beyond frustrating. I am not a stupid person by any means, this game make me feel like an idiot. That said the interface is great as well as the graphics. Bravo well done. The exploration of the world is exactly the kind of game I look for. But not all players play the same way, some have harder times than others with visual concepts, musical concepts and or mathematical concepts. Quite a few games don’t take this into consideration. Some people just see things in different ways. It would have been a great game if there were more than one way to figure out the puzzle patterns..Version: 1.95

RefundNot worth the money.Version: 1.6

So far........this is £10 spent on doing some maze puzzles. The environment is really nicely rendered and designed. The controls are sort of acceptable but irritating. But the actual gameplay? Doing mazes. In fact: finding and then doing mazes. Spoiler alert: the 'finding' part is not fun. At all. Downloads/updates frequently don't work. You'll find yourself uninstalling and reinstalling (and therefore restarting) several times over. At £10 this is a one star experience so far. I'm giving this one more chance then I'm asking for a refund..Version: 1.1

Jan. 2021 Update BrokenThis is a wonderful game, and I would've loved to keep playing it. But after several years of no updates, Thekla (or whoever is running this circus) decided to release an update that bricks the app. Can't open it, restarting the device does nothing, reinstalling the app does nothing, the only links provided for the developer take you to a broken website, and since I haven't done a complete backup since I bought the game days ago I have nothing to rollback to. If there's clear evidence they've fixed this then you should absolutely get this game. But unless and until that happens, don't bother..Version: 1.93

Motion sicknessI've been playing games since the eighties and never had a problem with motion sickness. However, playing this game makes me really nauseated. The game itself seems good, but as it is making me feel physically sick I cannot play it. Having googled nausea and The Witness it seems I'm not the only one, so be warned. There were some comments about updating the game on PC, hopefully similar changes makes it to iOS so I haven't wasted £10..Version: 1.1

Download issuesI cannot get this game to download on my iPhone. Really disappointed and frustrated given the price..Version: 1.6

Great game, butThe controls are the worst ones I've ever seen. Tap to walk is the dumbest idea ever, it's uncomfortable, unintuitive, just bad. And no option for a virtual joystick, which is the way this game was intended to be played. In puzzles, you can't move the cursor unless you put your finger on it. That means you constantly cover the screen with your hand, so you can't see what your doing. Idk who thought this was a good idea, but that person surely never played a game on a touch screen device. I wish they've made a joystick + camera zone split controls, like basically any other first-person game does for phones/tablets. As of now this is simply unplayable, no way someone would enjoy the game like this. It feels like you're trying to play with each one of your fingers broken..Version: 1.95

CrashingCan’t get past level 1 because it keeps crashing. How to a get a refund?.Version: 1.95

TerribleDon’t waste your money on this.Version: 1.95

Very good puzzle, cannot play coz feeling dizzyLove the puzzle and art work in this game. However I feel very dizzy and very uncomfortable after playing for 10min and cannot continue. I went checked online forum, and see many people having “motion sickness” when playing the game as well. I play with my phone, and wish there is a way to fix the issue..Version: 1.6

Updated: Beware the iOS bugThe game has an infuriating bug. When you download it on iPad it will auto install onto your iPhone as well. You are playing the same game on both devices, which is very cool. Unfortunately there seems to be a bug that causes the devices not to keep in sync (so you may solve some puzzles on one device but the other device shows a previous state with less puzzles solved). Here’s the problem: If you start playing on the device that shows the older state you will lose all the progress on the other device (they will both sync to the older state). So you appear to lose any progress you made. I had solved the entire Keep set of puzzles and thought I had lost them all. Blech. Luckily the various states are stored and you can reload (go to the main menu and hit Load Game). Earlier review: Professionally executed, but as others have said, the puzzles are repetitive (you draw lines in maze like patterns, over and over again)..Version: 1.9

Truly boringThe most expensive and the most boring game of its kind I have ever had the misfortune to play. Is there a refund policy? Why is every puzzle the same stupid idea. Why are the graphics so terrible? Why is movement so slow and awkward? Why is this so popular? Why am I playing this boring game I can’t wait to put down? These are the questions crossing through my mind as I close it once again not because I’m stuck but rather that I can’t be bothered to play it anymore.Version: 1.9

Losing save file...Was really enjoying the game, until I had to restart because the game seems to have lost my save files. Restarted, and the save thing happened for a second time. Starting to really annoy me!! On iPad mini 2 with iOS 11. Please fix this problem. Thanks!.Version: 1.1

Frustratingly disappointingThis game looks fantastic and, contrary to other reviews, navigating around the Island on my iPad was fine. In fact, exploring the island was the best aspect of the game. The puzzles however, were a bit of a let down. Some were straightforward, but in each area I seemed to reach a point where their complexity ceased to be entertaining and satisfying. In some cases I weakened and visited walkthroughs, but in the majority of cases, even with the solution given to me, I still found the puzzle’s logic impenetrable! Maybe it’s me ....Version: 1.6

Took my moneyI brought this game it was great! However I feel scammed as I was charged TWICE!!!.Version: 1.3

Crashes on startupGreat game which I got most of the way through but has now started crashing on startup and I am unable to use the app for more than a few seconds before it automatically closes. A restart and reinstall has not solved the issue, playing on an iPhone X..Version: 1.6

Not on an iPhone!Don’t buy this on iOS, especially for an iPhone. I stopped playing v quickly because the controls are awful. Complete waste of money!.Version: 1.6

Stay away!!!! Poor controls, poor puzzles, just poor everything. The first 30 minutes is the sweet spot for this game. Over that it’s the same “draw a line”. Some of the mechanics are very unclear. Other line the sun game make sense for the first 3 puzzles and then nothing. I have it a 2 because the graphics looks nice. Edit: I couldn’t take this crappy game anymore. Tired of the controls. Tired of the “puzzle” mechanics. You have to line things up just perfectly to get it, which is near impossible because the controls. Then when you do line up perfectly it still says some puzzles are still wrong. I had to look them up because of the stupidity of them. Stay away from from this game. It is the worst game I have ever played on my phone. Period..Version: 1.9

DisappointingIn my never-ending quest to find a game of the quality of The Room and The House of Da Vinci, I bought this very expensive game on the recommendation of the reviews. I really wish I hadn’t wasted my money: it is so boring ! The graphics are ok (but not on a par with the two games mentioned above), but so far the ‘games’.... well game... there is only the same game (and it’s very similar partner), over and over and over and over and over again, in varying levels of random incomprehensible complexity, are so lacking in imagination. Where’s the variety? So disappointed..Version: 1.95

Pointless meanderingI wish I hadn’t paid for this. The game is just a stumble around finding little mazes to solve. Pointless with no skill involved. I want a refund..Version: 1.6

MehI found this very underwhelming, especially after it got Game of the Year! All the puzzles are essentially variations on the same theme and some are so stupidly difficult that it’s not fun, just frustrating. There is no story and the whole thing is deeply unsatisfying. I cannot believe I was charged £10 for this, it’s a total rip off..Version: 1.6

Beautiful But A Little DullI was almost tempted to give it a two and almost tempted to give it a five. Both at the same time? Yes. It is beautiful to look at. Stunning, in fact. I would have paid the money just to wander through the graphics. Which is actually what I did most of the time. Because the puzzles are somewhat soul-destroying. A few are interesting and solvable with some thinking and logic. But many are like bitcoin mining using your own brain - arbitrary, complex and tedious. Put simply, the puzzles are complex paper-based logic conundrums extracted off the paper and grafted on to a 3D world. I gave up caring too much about solving the problems quite early on, when they started to become rather arbitrary and in some cases practically unsolvable due to graphics rendering issues (the sunlight on the desert panels puzzles) or needing to be in exactly the right (practically unreachable) place to view a solution, almost to the pixel (the monastery puzzles). Once you start reverting increasingly to the internet for solutions to be able to progress, eventually there becomes no point carrying on. And that is where I am now. I haven’t finished the game, but already think (know) I am not going to bother trying much longer. There is simply not enough satisfaction to be gained to justify the effort. Just like you put down a book if it doesn’t get good after the first few chapters, so it is with this game. Even the internet walkthrough sites have parts of the game that they state they don’t understand why the solution is what it is. And so, we are bitcoin mining again. Because the solutions to the game in the internet are not one person successfully having completed the game. No, rather they are a cut and paste from the collective efforts of all gamers. And so all we gamers are the processors and the game is the mining app. We have only solved it through collective brute force, not by any outstanding individual intelligence. So that makes for little satisfaction in arriving at the endgame. All this is a shame. Because like Returner 77 (correct name?) here there is a truly outstanding game just below the surface waiting to be liberated. But obscured by the puzzles and tedious gameplay. Almost like being back in the 1980s, when games had you work out that you needed to combine the egg cup, horses head and bicycle wheel to create a broomstick to allow you to fly to the endgame castle - and have you spend six months of real-time searching for the eggcup in the game world. Real exciting. Not. Arbitrary and somewhat unsatisfying. Very. UPDATE: I have carried on, and think I will finish. Almost like climbing Everest. My opinion has softened a little about the puzzles. Still much internet required to solve the most tedious of puzzles, but there is also still quite a lot to enjoy. I must admit there is so much detail that I would like to explore more than doing the puzzles. Who are all the statues? What were they doing? Why? Maybe the answer is in the game and I haven’t finished it yet to get the answer? Something like The Room but spread out over a real world map like this would be great..Version: 1.6

Poor controlsLove the concept, but the controls are so bad.... I don’t understand the need for the Island either as there is no story. It would have been better just being the Puzzles, better on the battery too. That or allow for controller support, disappointed when my Steelseries controller didn’t work with the game..Version: 1.6

Beautiful looking game may not be best on iOSI really wanted to like this game. I really wanted to LOVE this game! I was interested in it the first time it was previewed but the $40 cost put me off. So when I learned it was ported for the iOS at a third of the cost, I was super excited for it. Although this game looks great, I feel it doesn’t play great. The touchpad is a poor replacement for a game controller and I don’t think you can use it properly and precisely to get to every angle needed to solve many of the puzzles. That and the fact that there is absolutely NO clues, hints or suggestions in it to help you along, makes it even more difficult. The only way I knew how to advance on some puzzles was to reference an online cheat. I stopped playing for now mainly for that reason because it was becoming frustrating, not fun. That and the fact the it was a super battery hog, makes me not want to pick up again for quite awhile..Version: 1.4

Keeps making me start again! The game is beautiful and intriguing - but it's lucky even to get 3 stars from me, as it has, for the fourth time now, lost all my saved progress and made me go right back to the beginning... Infuriating! If the developer is reading this, I would really appreciate help/explanation/way of preventing this happening again/etc..Version: 1.6

Waste of moneyReally disappointed after reading the reviews I was looking for something more like the Room where you have intriguing puzzles to solve. There is absolutely no skill or intrigue in this game it just seems like random guesswork to solve a series of rather similar puzzles many of which you just need to try over and over again to get right, very boring. I know there are some hints in the surroundings but often there is nothing to give any sort of direction, I just became more and more frustrated and angry instead of calm. Gone back to real world and yoga!.Version: 1.9

Waste of money more walking same puzzleI’m so disappointed. I like actual puzzles. Variety. This is just a whole lot of walking around to do the same puzzle over and over again..Version: 1.6

Lost ProgressI had started the game last week and was getting into it, had solved a bunch of puzzles. Just installed an update to the app (haven't gone to iOS 11 yet) and I login to find I've lost all my progress! It's very nicely dropped me back at the start of a new tunnel, and no ability to load my prior game. I know iOS can cause trouble and these things happen sometimes - my phone is probably low on space and memory - but stilllllll. I have had it for probably a week and it lost the whole game/concept that I had played before, not just recent progress. Please get save working better!.Version: 1.3

Some convoluted puzzles, forcing to refer to guides, to no avail.Nice visuals & colorful. But movements are not near as smooth or quick as other games. The scenes are cartoonish & not as realistic as say Myst or Talos series. Also, once lost, you had no clue where you are in the game: beginning, middle, or end! Some puzzles are too convuluted, even by the account of some of the guides that refer to the puzzles. I tried to avoid the spoilers & looked only for guides, but couldn't find a single guide that explained the rational behind some of the puzzles, as if the reviwer him/herself didn't know eeither. One is very often forced to guides that seem disoriented & incomplete, a refelction of the comvultion of the game. Anyways, even though it cost me about $10, I figured cut my losses was best to avoid the torment of back-&-forth betweeen the game and intenet searches for advice. I deleted it away..Version: 1.9

Complicated for complicated sakeThe puzzles are not logical. Too much trial and error to figure out what each colour and shape is supposed to do. Quite tedious too I’m afraid. £10 down the tube..Version: 1.5

Great puzzles; horrible controlsThis game is wonderful. I love being immersed in this mysterious world and discovering areas after hours of figuring out great and challenging puzzles. But the god awful controls are really aggravating. Touch to walk has never been a good idea. You can never move smoothly, it feels so clunky. Especially for a game where it’s all about being aware of your surroundings, you are constantly distracted by the fact that you always have to be constantly tapping where you want to go rather than, so your focus becomes tunnel vision. You are always fighting the controls, since you may tap one place but the game registers as another and your character is constantly moving to places you don’t want to. This is especially aggravating when going up or down stairs. I have no idea how they thought that not including the option for a virtual d-pad was a good idea at all. I love everything else about this game, but the controls too much in the way to fully enjoy it. Some music would’ve been nice too, to break off the monotony of going through puzzle after puzzle..Version: 1.8

HardnessCan this game get any harder!? Just want it to be easier so I can get the actual ending so I would like this game to be easier so I can enjoy this game!.Version: 1.8

Not built for mobileI really enjoyed playing The Witness on console. It’s a fun and challenging game. But this mobile version is just frustrating. This is because of the system of controlling your character by tapping where you want to go. A lot of times, this game requires very precise positioning to give yourself the right perspective to solve a puzzle and you just don’t get it. Some puzzles I would be fiddling fruitlessly for half an hour trying to position myself, then I would load this game up on a console and use my game pad to solve it in a matter of seconds. This is not fun. I get the feeling this game wasn’t play tested on iPhone, the experience is so jarring and so bad..Version: 1.6

A trying experience on iOSA beautiful, masterpiece of a game which is marred by control issues which are just too large to look past on iOS. Constant exiting of puzzles whilst trying to complete them when tracing with your finger on the screen eventually annoy the player to the point where they can’t enjoy an otherwise wonderful puzzle game. A shame..Version: 1.6

Not compatibleDespite using a device listed as compatible, this game won't download onto my iPad. Very frustrating..Version: 1.6

C'MON MR. BLOW FIX THE BRIGHTNESS!As of Version 1.8, this game still continues to hijack the iPad's brightness control, automatically raising that level to 50% upon opening. I am entirely capable of choosing an appropriate brightness and volume setting based on my viewing environment and don't need an app developer to make those decisions for me. At 50%, it is far too bright. Again, it is extremely annoying to have to readjust every time I open or switch back to the game. It is ruining the experience of an otherwise stellar game. From five stars to one until this is fixed..Version: 1.6

Clever, butI enjoyed the puzzles, which seemed to be about the right level for me, but I found moving around the game landscape very difficult as the swooping visual effects tended to make me dizzy. If you have any kind of inner ear problem I suggest you try the app before you buy (if possible) or else avoid it, as it’s quite an expensive mistake to make..Version: 1.6

The witnessThis puzzle game promised lots at the start, but it soon became rather aimless with little direction as to where you should be going next. This led to feeling that completing puzzles was at times pointless and in the end frustrating. The graphics and feel were great, but a little help as to what to do next would have made me more optimistic and allowed me to enjoy the process, rather than being annoyed by it. Some puzzles were ridiculously difficult and not logical, even with help from the web..Version: 1.0

LOVE the game… on consoleThe witness is one of the games I’ve always kept on my playstation hard-drive because it’s so good, but for the LOVE OF GOD please put an analogue control on the bottom left of the screen. The controls are absolutely atrocious. I’ve had to just stop playing it on my iPhone 8 Plus because even with the larger screen the tap to move and the horrific camera angles make moving around to solve puzzles a nightmare - especially the dessert section of the map where you have to move to very specific places to see the outline of the puzzle solutions based on where the sun is hitting the screen. Abysmal. Until this is sorted I can’t bring myself to play it again on my phone. Do yourself a favour, experience this on console - because you really can’t underestimate how much more fun you will have exploring this beautiful game..Version: 1.6

Horrible do not buyHi this game gave me motion sickness plus it is really bad and stupid. Boring not fun and made me sick! I tried to get my money back as not cheap and made me sick but no luck! Teach me to spend money on games!.Version: 1.6

Needs some big changesThis is one of my favorite games but the port isn't great. Tracing lines doesn't feel good, you block the view of the line with your finger, and the first spinning column puzzle basically doesn't work. Lining yourself up for some of the environmental stuff with the point-and-click interface is tedious and would be much better served with a WASD-type compass point to maneuver. The point-and-clicking also means the game frequently sends you to a place you didn't intend, which means fighting with the autopilot to change direction. The pathfinding is nice though and the camera works great, so I would suggest giving the player the choice between the two, and being able to press and hold to see the pointer's location and adjusting its position before letting go to move. On the plus side, the graphics are really well handled, so this could be good with some control tweaks..Version: 1.0

IWitness ReportThe Witness is one of my favourite indie games and anywhere else would be a 5-star game. However, the tap-to-move control scheme is difficult at best and at worst, maddeningly frustrating. That being said, The Witness is a fantastic game to have in portable format, which begs the question, why isn’t it on Nintendo Switch? Does Annapurna and Jonathan Blow not like money? I’d pay £30 for an eShop port all day long. As too would many Switch owners. For anyone considering grabbing this puzzle masterpiece for their iPhone or iPad, I’d suggest waiting for a heavily discounted sale, picking up an MFi controller or for it to turn up on Nintendo’s hybrid system, whichever comes first..Version: 1.8

So hard it’s stupidI love puzzle games, but this is ridiculous. So why 2 stars? It looks cool. And occasionally the puzzles achieve a satisfying balance between challenging and solve-able. Otherwise, I’ve had to resort to walk-throughs numerous times, and even then don’t really understand why the solution is what it is, or why the solution I had was wrong. My husband always knows when I’m playing, bc I’m constantly muttering something along the lines of, “I hate this game,” or, “this is so stupid.” But I keep on playing, so I guess that says something..Version: 1.9
