Love this app but sometimes freezesThe app freezes on me sometimes right in the middle of a 45 min workout. It would be nice if you could fast farward the workouts so when this happens you can pick up where you left off. If the app didn’t freeze on me every-once in awhile I would give it 5 stars..Version: 3.0.26

High Hopes, Too Buggy for Too LongI have had a Studio subscription for almost a year and I would say starting 6 months ago they tried to make improvements and it has led to such a buggy interface and experience I truthfully couldn’t use it for 3-4 months because it wouldn’t sync with my watch. I have contacted support numerous times and every time they are prompt and so kind to say “they are working on it”. Well, after the latest “update” my watch won’t sync again and they got rid of all of my favorite classes in favor of this video version. I contacted support again after all of my old workout history vanished from my Activity app only to be met with “we’re working on it”. I understand apps go through tech updates but I find it hard to be a paying customer through all of this. They have never offered a discount or to add more time to my subscription, or do anything to make my time and money lost worth sticking around. There are so many apps like them on the market now. It is a shame they can’t figure out how to make it a better experience for loyal fans..Version: 3.0.14

Can’t repeat workoutsUntil this latest update, about a week ago, we were able to repeat workouts. I woke up tried to complete a run and instead found myself being locked out of the workout because I played a few seconds of it previously. I reached out to tech support and was told that they disabled feature down to be able to update the app. Grrrrrr. Additionally, there was no timeline of when this would be complete. They could have been forthright and forewarned users. At this point I am crazy frustrated at the lack of good customer service. Fix soon. Please.Version: 2.0.56

Needs workThis app needs more functionality during the workouts. I can’t tell what is coming up. I have trouble pacing myself because I have no idea what’s coming up next. During the strength classes it would be nice to have a list of movements in the filters. Sometimes I don’t want to do certain movements. I would also like to be able to do quick rewind. When I’m doing a treadmill class and they mention the elevation once right at the start of the song you are in trouble if you miss it. Or maybe a display while you are working out that shows what you should be doing at that time. You don’t have to have a full screen leaderboard. Other than that, I like the app. Workouts are pretty good. Convenience is huge..Version: 2.0.56

Love the workout, the app needs workLove the workout itself... if it would finish. I’ve kept the app updated and my phone stable during every workout, but the same workout restarts OVER the ongoing workout so there are 2 workouts going on at the same time and I can’t hear!! Happens between 15-18 minutes in. If that doesn’t happen, the audio pauses and goes silent about the same amount of time into the workout and therefore I can’t finish it. Super disappointed as I would love to continue using the app, but I don’t see a point if I can’t get through a workout..Version: 1.0.49

Don’t bother with the free trial, you can’t cancel afterBeen trying to cancel my free trial before it ends and there’s no contact info or ways to get ahold of anyone. It looks like you can only contact them on weekdays and not on weekdays..Version: 3.0.26

Music not as advertisedReally wanted to love this app!! The instructors are great - but the music doesn’t match the class title. Ie - I took a boy bands run - but there wasn’t a single boy band song. The music is all sleepy background tracks which doesn’t match the high energy instructors. You can tell they switched the music at some point after the fact. Also wish you could scroll through a class or skip ahead if you exited the app by accident and wanted to pick up where you left off. Pretty disappointing !.Version: 3.0.26

Apple Watch IssuesLove the workouts, but ever since the update I’ve had a lot of issues with the app connecting to my Apple Watch. Sometimes, it takes multiple tries to connect the two. Today, I couldn’t get the app to disconnect after my workout so my battery was running low on my watch. Also, the workout never logged in my Apple activity. I miss my favorite trainer from the old version because his music was amazing! Overall, I like the app, but the old app was much better. I think they rolled out the video version before it was ready..Version: 3.0.14

Improvements NeededApp crashes so frequently it’s not even funny. Also very hard to log in as frequently the login even crashes! Improvements desperately needed..Version: 3.0.45

Not exactly what is advertisedI signed up mainly because the reviews said the playlists were really great but it turns out that they’ve deleted their playlists and replaced them with Feed.fm which from what I can tell so far, is slow tempo no-name artists you’ve never heard of. Sure they have themed workouts like “90’s theme workout” but the music is going to be nothing from the 90’s. They should really write somewhere that the music won’t be matching anything so that users aren’t left wondering what’s going on 5 minutes into a workout!.Version: 3.0.26

Doesn’t work as advertisedI’ve used Studio for approximate 6 months. Initially, I was very pleased with the functionality and the diversity of the workout options. That changed approximately two month ago. Studio updated their app which resulted in issues syncing with my Apple Watch 4. Since that time, and despite numerous efforts to resolve the issue with Studio, it remains unresolved. I am still able to benefit from the guided training, but can’t take advantage of some of the other features that made the app appealing without the app being capable of tracking heart rate, distance, etc. While I like the trainers and diversity of workout options, the technical issues are significant and are likely to result in my not purchasing a license to use the app beyond my current term..Version: 2.0.46

PREDATORY TRIAL PERIODAs for the actual ap, I hate it. I signed up for this because I love orange theory and thought it might be an affordable alternative. However, the trainers are super annoying and say douchey phrases like “Legoooo” even though they are white. I deleted the ap and was charged $105 by Apple after two weeks. I wasn’t aware there was an additional process to cancel the trial (complicated and hard to find info about it online). I contacted Apple asking for a refund and have not received one. When I contacted the app via chat twice, they sent me a link to a third party website with instructions on how to request a refund, which I already knew. Terrible and useless customer service and a waste of $105 for something I will NEVER use!.Version: 1.0.49

Be carefulBe careful when you accept the trial period for this app. I started the free trial, deleted the app after about 10 minutes, cancelled my subscription immediately and was still charged the full price. Fortunately Apple refunded the cost but that shouldn’t happen. Proceed with caution..Version: 3.0.69

Like the classes but lacks convenient optionsI’m doing to 0 to 5k and I like the class and the coach. However there needs to be a search option. In order to get to day 1 workouts you have to scroll all the way through the entire program every time. Also can’t rewind or fast forward which is super annoying. The coach gave good tips in the last class and I wanted to go back and hear again but would have had to listen to the entire class again. Also accidentally exited out mid workout and had to restart a program I was half way through because it didn’t save my place or let me fast forward back to it. Love the classes but disappointed in the functionality..Version: 1.0.49

Worst workout app I’ve triedSo lately I’ve been bored with my normal workouts so I’ve been searching for that extra motivation. So far I have done free trials of 4 different workout apps, this one was by far the worst. The instructor was much too loud, causing me to turn the music down so my eardrums don’t blow, on top of that their microphone was loudly crackling the whole time, and lastly you cannot even see the workout ahead of time nor during so you have no clue what the workout looks like ever, and just have to blindly listen and hope that you don’t hate it... which after you do it for about 10 minutes... you realize you do and get upset. I strongly suggest not even utilizing the free trial of this app. Large waste of time and a possible descent workout..Version: 1.0.49

Deceiving.Really disappointed, not with the app but misleading with renewal fees. When an app popped up on the web to try a week free and then had either monthly or annual fees after the free trial I selected the monthly. Once I downloaded the app there wasn't anything on my profile about the subscription I picked (wasn't on the Apple/iCloud subscriptions either). After the free trial I checked my bank account and had been charged the annual fee instead of the monthly. When I emailed the support team they told me that they didn't have the monthly payment option anymore and just the annual fee and that they didn't have a way to refund me when I asked to cancel the 11 months. Sketchy and deceiving. Zero stars if I could.Version: 3.0.67

Good classes/ bad appLet me start by saying that the classes in the app are great. If all you want to do it take the classes and not worry about connecting to your Apple Watch go for it. Though, it’s a bit expensive if that’s all you are getting. The app itself is horrible. I’ve had it for 4 months and it’s been nothing but problems. Major problems, such as it won’t sync with my watch. I have to delete the app and reinstall it each and every time I want to use it. I’ve contacted support several times. They offer solutions (like delete and reinstall) that work once but never permanently. They promise to fix the problems with “the next update” but I’ve yet to see any fixes. The app can also be a lot more user friendly. You should be able to filter classes to find your favorites but the filter section always seems to show no results or show some but not include classes that I know are there and fulfill what I’m looking for. There are so many way to make this app great but they just aren’t doing it. A big thumbs down from me..Version: 2.0.19

Awesome conceptI want to love this app... I really do because the concept is awesome. I am a former OTF member who wanted something similar but that I could do on my own schedule so this was very appealing to me. Unfortunately it is very buggy and the sound quality is less than great. Oftentimes I can’t get the workout to connect to my watch and when it does it doesn’t always track properly. Also I wish the class descriptions weren’t so generic. If the developers can fix those issues it would be a 5 star..Version: 2.0.1

RenewalI did not receive a notification for the renewal from apple for you The payment passe in my account and I don’t want your service anymore I was waiting for the advice from apple not to renew And I want my money back in 48h.Version: 3.0.26

Decent workout but not like OTFSo I bought into all the reasons this app trumps OTF- namely price and convenience so I gave it a whirl. It’s a runners workout, pretty plain and simple. I tried a variety of the workouts and they were all mainly running motivators - I did (used to) go to OT and pretty much liked it except for the price. Here’s the difference:1) OTF mixes cardio and weights in each workout. The studio app does not. You have to select your run then select a strength. 2) OTF gives you the workout of the day to you so you don’t have to select. 3) OTF creates a personal attachment since coaches will know you by name and what you’re struggling with within 2/3 classes 4) OTF provides achievable challenges On the positive side, Studio does track your burn (ie points) so you do get motivated to move up the ranks. It is convenient. It is low cost. Basically it’s a decent workout app but not and OTF replacement or comparable - I think they should just not market it that way and would get more positive feedback for the workout it IS..Version: 2.0.46

I Love the IdeaI love the idea of the app, but it could be better. The treadmill classes in particular make me excited to get on a treadmill and push myself. In fact, why don’t gyms already offer their own versions on the TVs right there? BUT I cannot always stream the class on my gym’s crappy Wi-Fi, so it’s useless. Why can’t you view content offline? Also, why don’t classes have descriptions?! There’s a class on the schedule called Elevate Your Game, for example. Do you need weights, to be on a treadmill? Who knows? 🤷🏼‍♀️.Version: 3.0.32

Frustrated with more technical difficulties since the new iosThis app has always had a lot of technical difficulties. They seem to have gotten worse with the new ios unfortunately. Now if I'm in the middle of a run and want to check an incoming message, anytime I leave the app the music continues to play but the instructors audio stops. You have to return to the app, pause the workout and then I pause to get it to resume. I've also had two workouts just stop when I was like 15 minutes in for no reason whatsoever. Couldn't get them to start back up....they just froze and that was that. I want to like this app but most days I have to uninstall and reinstall the apple watch portion of the app just to get proper connectivity. If I were studio I would put every extra dollar into making the app work perfectly..Version: 3.0.69

Terrible companyI signed up for the free trial and tried to cancel because I didn’t use it - but this didn’t work. They continue to try and take my money. I have been in their website to try and speak to someone but nobody responds and I can’t access the app to speak to someone either..Version: 3.0.45

Not motivatingAlthough this app does what it says, I do not enjoy it. I bounce from several workout apps everyday so I thought I’d give this one a try. 1. Choosing a workout is hard because it literally gives zero description 2. The trainers are cheerleaders but not really giving you any running advice or guidance. Just yelling into a mic that has the sound up too high. So I lower the volume but then I can’t hear the music. 3. I also don’t like how it takes over my Apple Watch. I understand it needs that info for the leader board, which I really like but since I really didn’t like the trainers it didn’t matter..Version: 2.0.56

Great except for some of the instructorsI love this app for a lot of things. I started using this instead of Orange Theory as it was the same kind of workout but way cheaper and on my own time. However, some of the instructors annoy me so much. I swear, a lot of the time I’m 50% enjoying my workout and 50% sweating internally at the instructors. My biggest complaint is many of them speak WAY too much. I like to get into the music when I’m running, and I enjoy to be motivated and pushed but not even 10 seconds. I have to keep turning up and down my volume; 10 seconds of music pumping through my earbuds and flowing through me, followed by 20 seconds of quickly having to lower my volume because of the shrill voice of an instructor. Seriously, we don’t need “instruction” or “motivation” so often. The least you can do is allow us to filter the instructors by how much they talk and the music:speaking ratio. A lot of them also mess up. Cmon, you can do better. I’m sure talking into a microphone for 30 minutes is not that difficult of a job. But when we’re supposed to be having a 2 minute rest and they forget and go right into another sprint 1 minute in, it’s really annoying. So please, keep this app up, it’s great. Just get better instructors..Version: 2.0.46

Was great until...I have had this app for a few months now as I have been trying to come back from an injury. It was great until I recently had a set back and had to take a break from running again. I recently was given the all clear to start again but they have turned off the ability to retake classes. Since many of the classes build on each other this presents a HUGE problem for me. I contacted them via their support page and was contacted by Christopher. It’s been really poor customer service interaction with them repeating the same response and not offering any sort of solution or work around. The answer has essentially been, in Mid August (two months from now) this will be resolved, until then tough..Version: 2.0.56

Great idea/not well executed at this timeI am new to this app and LOVED it the first day I used it. When I went to workout the second day, I wanted to do the same workout again but I was unable to do so. In trying to figure out how to redo the workout from the day before I accidentally started a similar workout. I immediately stopped it just to find out it logged it as “completed” and I can’t do that workout now either. This is important because a lot of the workouts seem to be more advanced. I used to be a well rounded athlete but after multiple serious health issues I’m trying to work myself back into shape. I would have loved to use this app, but I will go through the workouts I’m able to do very quickly. I reached out to customer support and was told this was a temporary issue, but it will probably not be fixed until September. I will revisit the app at that time and see if anything has changed if I’m unable to find a replacement..Version: 2.0.56

RCoaches are really good.... But the music you get in America is great compared to the garbage elevator music we get in Canada. Something to do with copyright..Version: 3.0.67

Great concept but frustrating designI’m not sure how to properly rate this because I’m liking the exercises I’ve been doing so far, but the app itself is really annoying. First of all, I don’t know if it’s a glitch, my phone or just the way some of the videos are but some classes don’t have any video and are audio only. I don’t understand why this would be intentional because how can you follow a HIIT or stretching workout without the visual? I’m seeing this a lot...I’m thinking it has to be some sort of bug... I just really hate the way the app is set up. I don’t like scrolling endlessly to look through workouts. Can specific classes be categorized so that all of the ‘episodes’ are under one category? That would be so much more convenient then having a general cardio category where a bunch of random classes are jumbled in there in no reasonable order. Also, why can’t classes be fast forwarded or rewinded? I had exited out of a class once to answer a text and I had to start over instead of fast forwarding to where I was before. Again, I really like this app so far. It’s really been helpful in getting my exercise in but the design of the app is really frustrating....Version: 3.0.67

Almost!I really like the idea of this app but there were 2 shortcomings that made it a hard sell for me: a. There’s too little insight into what the class is going to be like ahead of time and b. the sound quality is mediocre. As a former OTF member, as I think probably many of the users looking at this app are, I’m used to getting a little intro into what’s to come at the beginning of each class (ie “there will be 3 blocks each starting with 2 minutes at a moderate pace, followed by 30 second sprints” and so on). This helps me get in the right mindset and have an idea of how to pace myself. Secondly, I found the quality of the music to be poor due to the way the instructor is recorded over it. Music is just too important to a work out (for me) to compromise on the sound quality. I definitely think this app fills a need in the market and could be great with a few tweaks!.Version: 3.0.26

Studio hitI cancelled my subscription for December 13 and still being charged.Version: 3.0.45

Can’t even try it without payingI can’t even determine if this is worth it or not. Have to pay..Version: 3.0.14

Bad User ExperienceGreat concept, decent workouts, bad execution. Nothing about this app is user friendly. You can’t search for workouts or easily follow a plan. Music and instructors are both explicit and there are no warnings for that anywhere. The news feed is mostly users complaining about bugs and crashes. Coaching quality isn’t the best—lots of mumble singing along with the music (so annoying!) and fluffy “pep talks” without really excelling in coaching on form or making sure you know what’s coming up, when to speed up, etc. No way to tell what a workout generally includes without just starting it. No videos for sculpt workouts unless you pause the workout (and one of the two I tried didn’t have them even then). I was excited about this app at first then eager to cancel by the end of my trial. Tried Aaptiv instead today and it’s everything I’d wanted Studio to be and more. Blows this one out of the water..Version: 2.0.57

Great idea, but app lacks basic functionalityI really love the idea behind this app and want to make it work. However, there are a couple of issues with the usability of the app that make it pretty annoying: 1. You cannot download a class. My gym does not have WiFi and the cell service is terrible, which makes it impossible to use this app while I’m there. 2. Finding/selecting a class can be difficult. For example, for the 0-5k plan, you have to scroll all the way to the beginning each time you open up the plan. This is obviously a minor inconvenience but is reflective of an overall lack of attention to usability throughout the app. 3. It can be difficult to hear the instructor over the music, even when the music is turned down to its lowest level. Would be great if it was possible to turn the music off entirely. Overall it’s a great idea and I think with some updates to the app it could be a worth it. However, not being able to load the classes at my gym is a deal-breaker..Version: 3.0.14

Great concept but...Love the idea behind this and have enjoyed the workouts I’ve tried. But I hate that other than the timeframe and title of each workout, I don’t know what the workout consists of. It would be great if I could read a short description of the workout. Sometimes I can’t even see how long the workout is because the line about challengers awaiting is covering the other details. The filter doesn’t always work properly either. I think the leaderboard is dumb. I don’t care what my ranking against strangers is. I’d rather know what I’m supposed to be doing as sometimes the instructors are hard to hear. If those things could be fixed, would really love the app..Version: 2.0.19

Great concept, app needs work.I love the Studio product overall—classes are excellent, instructors truly are motivating, there’s a fantastic selection and music is lit. Downside: as of Aug 2019 the app needs some serious work. It’s clunky to use and is limiting overall. Classes are super unorganized and you have to do a ton of scrolling and waiting for pages to load just to get to the starting point for any series. Needs a class/series list function for more agility. Also, as of today each class can only be taken once...which is a major bummer if you have an issue and need to stop 2 min into a class...can’t retake it later..Version: 2.0.56

Keeps crashingApp crashes about 30% of the time and it’s really frustrating when I’m in the middle of a 45 minutes treadmill workout and can’t go back to where I was before the app crashed..Version: 3.0.33

How do I know I like it?Can’t trial without paying. Too bad cause it looks like an interesting app..Version: 3.0.26

Not quite there...This app is nice but frustrating. There is very little information about what each workout is before you start it and is available is frequently wrong (the 30 minute workout I just finished went on for 40 minutes) I find it very hard to pace myself correctly because I have no information about what’s coming up. Should I give this sprint my all because I’ll get a walking recovery immediately after or will the instructor ask me a run for another two minutes? I have a wonky IT Band and want to lay-off inclines while it recovers. You would think workouts with inclines would be clearly labeled and you would be wrong. On the sculpt workouts instructors give you instructions for five or six exercises all at once and then count on you to remember how many reps in what order. Most of these problems could be solved by improving the interface: show me what the workout looks like before I start it and lose the leaderboard in favor of something that tells me what I’m supposed to be doing at that given moment instead so that when the instructor decides to tell us a story about their personal mental health journey in the middle of class I don’t miss out on an exercise..Version: 2.0.19

Fraudulently took my moneyI joined studio but realised the same day it wasn’t for me. About 10 days later they deducted $89.99 from my account. I can’t log back in to the account to contact them as they’ve locked me out of the account. Beware before signing up for the free trial!! It’s a SCAM.. ITUNES can’t help as the payment didn’t go through them. I don’t know how Studio managed to deduct funds without the use of ITUNES. I’m reporting them to iTunes as people need to be aware this can happen before signing up for a so called free trial!!.Version: 3.0.45
