Far from Noise for Negative User Reviews

So boringAll I can say is this was a total waste of time and money. Worst game ever. Like pulling teeth. So slow my anxiety level was rising instead of falling. Deleted it off my device before I could even finish the “game”. Ugh.Version: 1.1

Played for 20 minutesIt's really pretty, and the sound is awesome... but the story is painfully slow. 20 minutes in and I'm just wondering what button I have to push to toss the car in the water. No character has been developed, no plot moved forward..Version: 1.0

Too HotI love the game, but it literally makes my phone overheat after only playing for 10 minutes..Version: 1.1

InterestingTries a bit too hard to be profound but misses the mark about 60% of the time. Not a bad game. Not worth the 30 mins it takes to play nor worth starting again to see a different outcome if there is one. They may be onto something and a longer but more interactive or involved game would help a lot..Version: 1.0

Far from noiseThe most stupid and waste of time app I have ever experienced! Just tap away to read them speak!!.Version: 1.0

OverheatedThis app heated my iPhone 8 Plus like it was a skillet on Sunday morning! Too afraid to play with it any more. What a waste!.Version: 1.1

Too slow, even for a narrative gameI usually love narrative games, but this was like listening to a long monologue about existence from someone who loves the sound of their own voice with no opportunity to contribute to the narrative. The protagonist dialog choices were all throw-away lines, so the point really does seem to be to read someone else's stream of consciousness writing. And after half an hour of playing it, I don't feel like anything developed or moved forward. It gets two stars for being really pretty, and for being a neat idea that was just poorly executed in my opinion..Version: 1.1

Poorly written drivelWhat did I just buy?? Mindless drivel with similar boring dialogue "choices". One to avoid.Version: 1.0

Nice, butReally enjoy this but it has drained my iPod Touch battery twice and I still have not finished it once. Also gets incredibly hot. It will not even open on my iPad. Probably would give it five without the issues.Version: 1.0

Crashing >:(I enter it and ut almost loads then keeps crashing and i spent from my apple voucher £2.99. I want a full refund as the game isnt working and i am very disappointed with the company for not making a quality game for people to buy. So if u read this font buy the game.Version: 1.0

Not sureNeat concept but the story drags way too long, the dialog is poorly written and philosophical concepts are underwhelming. Not bad if the app was free, but not worth paying for..Version: 1.1

Boring game playThis would be more-enjoyable and more suitable as a book..Version: 1.0

AnnoyingI get it, IT doesn’t go anywhere. You are as stuck as the schmuck in the car while your phone heats up. Realizations when facing death. Hardly..Version: 1.0

Terrible and not worth it.It felt very boring and depressing. A waste of money..Version: 1.1

MehKind of hard to be a philosophical masterpiece when the game forces you into the perspective of a stereotypical white girl who pretty much repeats the same three phrases, “OH MY GOD”, “You could get me a latte”, and “I’m doomed, it’s over for me” just written differently. About halfway through I couldn’t force myself to play because the protagonists lines were too uninteresting and though there are many choices the deer will nod them off by saying perhaps and then saying whatever he was going on about anyway. Not worth three bucks, really missed the shot at being deep and meaningful.Version: 1.1

Yawwnnn...Could be good if it didn’t go so freaking slow...yawn, I want something to be happening here along with the positivity.Version: 1.0

Not worth itI’m a big fan of games with narrative and choices but this lacked so much. It was BORING, and this is coming from someone who really enjoys philosophy. It was predictable, and the choices didn’t really change much of the outcome. I just kept playing waiting for the narrative to get better, it didn’t. Save your 3 bucks..Version: 1.0

Could this be any slower?Nothing like paying $2.99 f or a LONG drawn out strange experience. Only interaction is touching a bubble response that may or may not be what your feeling. It’s boring, so boring.... the screen stays the same a rarely changes! I never got to the turtle as the other player experienced, but from his review seems I didn’t miss much more than wishing I could get my money back and the 20 min of my life back! Don’t waste your money!.Version: 1.0

Very very dullSlow, but not in a calm way. Slow in a dull way. Rather too much in love with itself, the ‘poetry’ is dreadful and there is too little to do. What there is to do makes no difference. The choices are pointless, or, often, not choices at all. It was one of the worst app purchase I have ever made..Version: 1.0

Really bad.Waste of £3 and 2 hours. Shallow platitudes offered up by a deer to a woman in a car overhanging a cliff. It makes no sense. You do nothing, learn nothing, achieve nothing. There is no point to this except to remove you from your money. Artistically it’s nothing special. I can’t believe Apple even let them publish it as a game or anything other than a very slow story with no beginning, middle or end. Garbage really..Version: 1.0

Not bad. It’s poetic and lovely, but I couldn’t help thinking there should be a bit more to it..Version: 1.1

Boring and iPhone X got so hotDon’t know why the iPhone X got so hot as nothing was happening. Factually the car (Citroen 2CV6) hanging over the edge is front wheel drive so the driver is hosed whether or not they get the car started. Too many one item only comments and very few decisions. Poor at best..Version: 1.0

HmmmmInteresting, weird. Slow and ultimately a waste of time. Looked promising though..Version: 1.0

Underwhelming & Ultimately UnsatisfyingI bought this ( £2.99 ) as it was featured on the App Store recommendations. Aside from relieving you of £2.99 It fails to achieve anything. It is pretentious with hackneyed platitudes and meaningless mumbo jumbo. The graphics are dull and extremely limited, the ‘gameplay’ ( I used that word reservedly ) is tedious in the extreme fails at every level & takes a very short time to complete. If you do have £2.99 burning a hole in your pocket then give it to a charity or to someone in need. Do not waste your money on this app..Version: 1.0

Not really worth itI’m not sure why this has been promoted so heavily by apple as ‘game of the day’, the screenshots look good in the promo, but I found it quite dull and somewhat unsophisticated. Sorry..Version: 1.0

Need helpI am unable to adjust any of the settings. I have no sound, very sluggish reading, and nothing that really holds my interest. How do I add the music etc?.Version: 1.1

Not much to itNot much of a story. If you like a lot of pseudo-philosophical interactions, think Star Wars Jedi type stuff, then this is the app for you. Many adventure story apps use visual and written media to tell a story and allow the user to interact. This doesn’t. Single scene. Rudimentary graphics. Dialog balloons. No real advancement of a story. Same ocean background sound the whole time too. Really not much here. Too bad because the description makes it seem like it will be thought provoking and interesting. It is neither. It also is a major battery drain for some reason. It pulls current like no other app I have seen. And it isn’t even a fast action game with physics. Severely overpriced for what it is..Version: 1.1

A bug to ruin the game.First and foremost, this is a promising experience (You’d be hard-pressed to call this a game) - but a couple of fundamental issues exist that prevent me from enjoying the narrative. These are as follows: 1) On my iPhone SE, playing for any length of time makes my phone REALLY hot, for a game that demands time and patience to experience, this is a bit of a deal breaker. Turning on low graphics in the options menu helps this slightly. 2) In the scene with the frog and the turtle, I can tell (from the dialogue) that the turtle is supposed to take the frog on a taxi ride; however in my version the pair just sit statically, doing nothing, while the dialogue ticks on. Hmm. At point “2” I turned the game off since I then couldn’t be sure if I was missing anything or not. A shame, because this entirely ruined the pace and experience of the journey. I would definitely want to finish the game, but with some animations or sequences clearly not working - I can’t see the reason to bother. In conclusion, this is a beautiful and novel (no pun intended) idea, but one that needs to work smoothly to be articulated properly - which was not the case for me. In such a carefully executed app, any break in the narrative utterly damages the experience. It’s a shame, because I am at a point in my life not unlike the woman in the game, on a precipice between life and death. I was hoping this game would provide some context, or comfort - but it was unable to..Version: 1.0
