✓ Exceeds its predecessor in almost every way...The highest complement I can give the original Obscura is that it’s allowed me to capture really compelling images (some that I’ve actually been paid for) without getting in my way. Obscura 2 takes that concept and adds more functionality with nary a drop of additional complexity to the UI/UX. It makes an excellent app/concept even more so. Paying for it was a no-brainer and the additional IAP filter packs - particularly the B&W one - are icing on an already delightful cake..Version: 1.0

✓ Shreds through battery but a very good app!I use a DSLR on a regular basis and always wanted similar control on my iPhone 7. This app gives me that controller but destroys the battery power in the process. While this app isn’t going to be a substitute for my DSLR I can see my phone camera getting used a little more now!.Version: 1.3.3

And while my iPhone won’t replace my Canon, I love DSLR-like controls for my iPhone camera! Obscura 2 combines the best of DSLR-like features with filter editing found in many editing apps, all in one place. It’s easy to navigate menus and use the app. If you’re familiar with DSLR controls then you’ll pick up this app quick. If you’re not, don’t worry. This app makes it quick and easy to learn. One bonus feature I like is a first of its kind for me. And that is the ability to customize the app icon! Not a major thing, but just a cool little feature! ✓ Simple and exactly what it should beWhen I got my phone this app was given to me on a deal when I signed up for Apple ID. So I decided to give it shot. And this is exactly what I hoped it would be. I have an iPhone 6 Plus so I don’t have a low-light camera built into my phone. This app uses the exact built-in camera on the phone but allows the user to manipulate it as if it were the newer iPhone cameras I was able to get a picture of the full moon last week in detail with this app because it allows me to adjust the shutter speed, aparatare, and ISO. Obscura has a great design which really works one handed - just the right amount of control which allows you to select options and take pictures quickly. You need to process images as Portrait in the Photos app which then enables Depth information to be used by editing apps such as Focos and Darkroom but overall a great app which makes the most of the new cameras in Apple mobile devices..Version: 1.0.1

✓ It works, after updatesThis is an update. I downloaded this app when Apple offered it free, because I was heading off on an overseas trip and I wanted a good travel camera without carrying a camera. I was disappointed that it crashed on my iPad Pro and I made the trip without this app. When the developer reached out to me, I retried the app and it works now. The major claim to fame is the really nice user interface. It does not try to mimic the controls on a camera, but gives you MOST of the functions you need, in a highly intuitive and easily accessible manner. I will update my review after I use it a bit more, but for now I think it is safe to say that the initial bugs and crashes have been handled..Version: 1.3.5
