✓ Keeps improvingBeing able to play remotely is amazing. It follows the rules of the original game well. I am enjoying it and recommend it highly! Updated 4/21 based on recent updates and developer response to my original. There are a few things that would make this even better: 1. Requiring to discard before moving cards. You can use UNDO to bring the card back, but when playing the real game, moving the cards around and then discarding allows you to play with options “physically”. (This could be resolved with a “discard” button similar the the “meld” button) 2. On iPad, only going 5 cards wide for a game where most runs are at least 3 cards is unfortunate. Massive improvements to Dark Mode (thank you!) - Inconsistent “winner” visibility as of 1.48. And THANK YOU for ability to see and move cards when other player(s) are playing..Version: 1.52

✓ Fun to play with family in other statesMy siblings are spread out over the US and we play this game often. It's a great way to stay connected! I've never had a problem in years of use but recently after iOS update 16.6, I could not start a new game or rematch, and a game started by someone else did not show up on my app. I thought I'd tried everything but couldn't get it to work. Out of desperation, I sent an email to the game developer. Matt replied within a day. He was unable to replicate my issue but suggested logging out and logging back into Apple Game Center. ✓ Great app, great supportThis app makes playing “Five Crowns” (or “Five Suits”) way more fun and easy than the actual card game...with the benefit of being able to easily play with friends anywhere in the world. Recent upgrading by Matt in response to suggestions by players were quickly implemented and much appreciated. The app is well-documented with “Help” and “Tutorials” and Matt is nothing but swift in replying to questions and helping out with concerns. I’ve read some of the “negative” reviews - and I just don’t get them!! “What! are you talking about it!!??” I asked myself. Consider this a “negative review” of those “negative reviews”! One bug though, every game at some point it doesn’t register that the other player is done and it’s your turn. You need to go to the matches menu and reselect the current match. ✓ 5 suits connected for snowbirdsWe have been snowbirds in AL for several years and during our stay the card game five crowns is one of our card games we enjoyed. Now that we have been spending most of our time at home because of the pandemic, 4 of us (IL and NC) have played cards every week online since last March. Although a little bit tricky to use at the start, once you get used to the different processes, the app resembles the excitement and frustration of the real game. ✓ A really great game EXCEPT...I've really enjoyed playing this game. The interface isn't super fancy, but it plays well, the computer opponents are good, and everything works well. However, there's one problem - you can't turn off the sound in the game! This means that it shuts off whatever podcast or music I'm listening to, which is a major bummer, as I'd love to be able to play AND listen to something. I also don't want to hear all the clicking all the time, which gets annoying. Please - if you fix this, I'd be on the app 24/7!!!.Version: 1.30
✓ Covid ReliefDuring the last year I have played Five Suits Connected with another couple every night at 6:30! For several weeks, it was the only event on my calendar! As life has started getting back to “normal”, we are missing playing some nights, but the game really helped our loneliness during the lockdown. ✓ This is Truly Five Crowns with Friends on lineIt’s so great to be able play five crowns live with several friends accross the country, while talking on a conference call. (The call is not part of the app, but the point is you can use the iPhone to set up a conference call or an audio FaceTime call, and then start a game with the app. And just be talking and playing at the same time, with a bunch of friends) It’s very to close having a real social gathering during the quarantine The developer is incredibly responsive. He’s made improvements I’ve requested, and fixed bugs I reported, and done both very very quickly. The program has become extremely solid, and keeps getting better in all kinds of ways. IMO this app has gotten better than five crowns with physical cards. No one has to shuffle, no one has to keep score, no one has to check that everyone’s melds are legit, and you can play outside without your cards blowing away Make sure you check out the new large card deck. ✓ Game night all day any day.My girlfriends and I had a regular Friday night game night in which we played 5 Crowns at our local coffee shop. With the Covid 19 restrictions we haven’t been able to. discovering the app has been the best thing. We can play day and night with each other and we can chat in the message box with each other. ✓ Couple of Suggested ChangesFirst, love the game. I play with my sister who lives 750 miles away every night. Two suggestions: 1. Some kind of a “ding” whenever you get a new chat. I watch TV when I play the game and focus on my turn when I hear it’s my turn. Often miss a new chat for a bit. 2. My sister often has to step away from the game, family crisis, pet crisis, etc. When that occurs I wonder if the game is stuck or hung up, although that occurs rarely. ✓ Great game, could do with some improvementsI like to play against the computer in hide mode. Opponents hand is too small to read when they open. I would also like to see their final hand after I open when playing in hide mode. The score doesn’t update until the next hand begins which is irritating. ✓ Ability to look at my cards during opponents turnsThe game is good however I would suggest 2 things. I would like to be able to resort my cards while the opponents are taking their turns. It would speed up the game. Also it would be nice to have a timer for each turn. I play another game online and when the timer is up the computer finished the persons turn automatically. We play this game at home all of the time and it takes about 45 minutes to play with 3-4 people. With no timer online people get distracted and it took 3 of us 1 1/2 hours to play. We generally have two games going at the same time. I also got the upgraded utilities which makes the cards bigger on my phone. ✓ Buggy but still very fun!!!I really love this game, but the app is a little buggy. For about a month I had a ghost match that was highlighted in green as if it was my turn to play, but each time I clicked on it it brought me to a different (and completed) match. That issue disappeared in the last couple of days. More frequently / more than half the time, it will switch random matches that I have started with normal scoring rules to make them alternate scoring rules. (This is a real bummer to me as I actively dislike using the new / bonus system and prefer the classic gameplay.) Another reoccurring glitch is that it will abruptly end my turn when I’m in the middle of it by either reverting my hand back to the way it was when the turn started and switching to my opponent’s turn or by discarding something random from my hand and switching to my opponent’s turn. (This doesn’t happen super often, but I’ve experienced it about four times in about 150 matches.) Lastly, however you set up the notification settings when you install the app seem to be unchangeable afterwards. (My mom had notifications on when she installed it, and she cannot figure out how to turn them off. (She works in IT.) I had notifications off when I started it, and I have not figured out a way to turn them on. (I never hear when it’s my turn unless I’m actively in the app.) Other than those glitches, I love this app, and I really love this game!!!.Version: 1.67

✓ Helping us stay sane during quarantineWe live on a cul-de-sac where the neighbors all get together on Fridays to drink, play cards and insult each other. We normally play a couple of hands of Five Crowns. With social distancing and shelter in place orders, we thought our Friday nights were doomed. Then we found Five Suits Connected. Now we sit out in our driveways with our iDevices and yell insults at each other across the cup-de-sac. A side benefit is that we no longer struggle to hold more than 9 cards in our hands.
