Disappointed with ad selectionThis game is clearly marked to children. However, ads pop up after all many turns and the first ad that came up for me? Hempire. A game about running a marijuana empire. Complete with pictures of women in tiny bikinis and a man running his empire with cash all around. What a poor choice of ads this company has selected. While I'll play the game myself, I will not let me children play. Disappointing to say the least..Version: 1.0

Seems fun - Stop the timer or get rid of energyI realize you want to encourage quick thinking, but having to do multiple math problems in 5 seconds is fairly difficult if you’re thinking you can’t screw it up, which gives you nerves. If you do make a mistake you won’t get all the stars, I imagine, which wouldn’t normally be a problem because you could just practice. However, you have energy to worry about too. All in all it makes you more anxious than entertains you. However, I feel the developers will respond to feedback from users, so I’m hopeful..Version: 1.0

It can’t decide what it wants you to do.Solving math problems quickly is one skill. Finding an answer from a multiple choice listing that changes order all the time is a wholly different skill set that’s at odds with first. Making people do both against a timer is kinda mean. Seriously, the answer options change with every question, so why aren’t the answers just in numerical order?! If you want me to do timed basic math skills, that’s fine by me. What isn’t okay is then making it deliberately difficult to find the answer required! In playing just the tutorial levels (most of which I earned 3 stars on) I ran across levels where different problems had the same answer (which made me double check my math the first time it happened), but no level had answers in any predictable order and in those cases the answers moved. All of that meant I took extra time finding an answer because human brains are designed to look for patterns. With the patterns at odds with one another, it ends up simply being discombobulating, frustrating, and not fun. I gave you 3 stars because I do believe that premise and design are good (even the tutorial is designed well), and with some changes the game could be useful and fun, but not as it stands. Deleting..Version: 1.1

Very Interesting Game, Forced AdsI got this game thinking it’d be a great way to quickin my mental math skills. I got through the first three battles and was greeted with a forced ad. The game looks great and plays just as well but I refuse to play a game that forces ads on players. I normally will freely watch ads for bonuses (which this game also has) but I can’t enjoy a game that makes me stop what I’m enjoying..Version: 1.0

Good game but game breaking Bug!!Overall, good game. BUT there is one simple bug that should be easy to fix but it’s absolutely game breaking! I will change to 5 stars when this bug is squashed. Mana is the premium currency in the game. It is important that I rack it up as much as I can through leveling up. However, instead of gaining mana after I level up, I LOSE MANA. I’ve been trying to get to 250 mana so I can bring another companion but now it’s impossible. I had 37 mana. I leveled up to level 14 and should’ve gotten 14 mana to get 51 mana in total but ended up with 23 mana instead.... PLEASE FIX!.Version: 1.1

Strong start, weak follow throughI was worried as soon as I saw the free-to-play model and confirmed the trouble by world 3. Started out great, but now levels cost 8 scrolls, multiplying 3 numbers is either too easy or too difficult, and at level 12 with an average 6x attack (with an extra 12% attack boost) enemies take 4-5 rounds to kill. Meaning you have to use a lot of potions which aren’t cheap and ruin your chances for 3 star. I’ll happily pay $5 for a fun math rpg, but I’m not going to shovel infinite money to make it fun. Make a stand alone EDU version for schools too! Update 8/14: Castle 2 - Level 79 has crashed 4 times on me now. I get kicked out and lose my scrolls and drops. Also, I was wondering why it was taking me so long to save up 250 potions to buy a 3rd animal slot! I couldn’t believe leveling up is a punishment that costs potions! :O I’m at level 31 and out of potions. Worried about what happens at 32..Version: 1.1

MehWas enjoying it till I realized every time I levelled up I was using mana potions. Great game to make you think quick and do easy to difficult calculations. Terrible for attempting to make you spend money. Even the BAZILLION ads would be tolerable if it didn’t cost mana for EVERY level up. Yeesh. Had two stars selected, but the frustration and betrayal drops it to one..Version: 1.1

This is supposed to be for children????If a game is definitely geared toward children, specifically as an educational game, please tell me why the heck there are Hempire App ads??? I am so disappointed that my eight year old can not play this otherwise cute game because there is an advertisement for a game about growing weed!!! I have the Hempire app and enjoy it - it’s not about being against Hempire - it is the fact that they should take into consideration the age of which they are marketing to. Absolutely ridiculous!!! Shame on them... not all parents have the time to check out a game before their child plays it! It SHOULD BE ASSUMED that a children’s game will have appropriate ads!!!!!!!.Version: 1.0

Good Game until they pinch you for cashI enjoyed the game up until the 3rd area. Plenty of in game ads to keep it free up until that point. Leveling up costs mana, which was plentiful in the beginning of the game. But now it takes the log in daily bonus just to level up and move on. No thanks!.Version: 1.1

Fun game but....😤Game is a good time waster, and definitely can get challenging. Quite enjoyable really but as you progress you end up hitting a wall.... the game requires you to spend the premium currency to level your character up. I thought maybe it’s a I need to wait some time before it will let me level up for free thing... I was wrong. So the 1 Star is because of the utterly ridiculous notion that I need to pay to level up my character. Hopefully this isn’t permanent because I was enjoying playing the game..Version: 1.1

Fun game, ruined by adsAnother fun enjoyable game ruined by ads! Ads are of slot gambling constantly! No option to pay and remove ads. Games is appropriate for child age, but the ads are not.... for shame!.Version: 1.0

To fast! Most of the issues are the basic part-and-parcel for free mobile games. The one I cant forgive is that, for a game that presents well for kids and adults, the timer starts too fast! A fun learning game that adds so much pressure by such a short timer will create frustrating situations that kids will avoid! Also, as an adult testing it for a kid, upset its not slightly more forgiving, as any glance away from the screen (for real life concerns) felt like a huge loss of time instead of a small one..Version: 1.0

Ads without an opt outThis was fun enough to play, but I have no idea if the game has longevity because of the ads. Forced ads are ridiculous (doesn’t matter if I can skip, it still interrupts the gameplay). And quite frankly, I would probably pay a flat fee to play without ads. Since there is no ad free option, the game has lost me..Version: 1.1

Great game but took my moneyI’ll change to a 5 star review once this is fixed. Paid $4 to remove ads and it errantly charged me twice. I got twice the potions - but I didn’t want that. I clicked the purchase button and it didn’t react, then I clicked again and paid and it went through the process twice..Version: 1.2

Ads forever, bewareThe game is ok, but unlike previous titles there is ads and more ads. Complete a battle and want more loot? Ads. Want to gain abound before combat? Ads. Finish a level? Ads. Some you can choose but the ones you cannot chose is annoying. I wish there was a payment option to remove the ads... I will remove this game and no longer play it as the ads are frustrating..Version: 1.1

Levelling upI enjoy the game. I like how it pushes you with a time constraint and I enjoy the companions. But I don’t like how it requires Mana to level up. It really stalls the progression of the game by forcing you to either spend real money or days trying to get Mana as a drop. It gets difficult to keep progressing without levelling up and this level up constraint just worsens it by not allowing you to even though you have five times the amount of xp needed to level up. In addition with this, it makes saving up to unlock more companion slots impossible! I also dislike that you can only auto loot levels. If you get 3 stars on an area you can’t replay it just to challenge yourself..Version: 1.1

Agreed- gotta fix timerAs an adult who loves games and could use some brushing up on their math skills, this game is pretty cool. However, as others have noted, the timer needs tweaking. 8 seconds from the beginning? Ouch. Talk about forcing split second decisions. That’s something that should start off big and then decrease with character level or map level or enemy or something. But 8 seconds is not a whole lot of time to solve multiple problems, especially for those of us who actually want to get better at mathematics. All it does in the end is create an anxiety that’s gets in the way of your ability to solve, which will just become frustrating eventually to most. Definitely don’t remove it, I understand it’s necessity, but it seriously needs tweaking. Especially if you want this game to appeal to a wider audience. Right now it really only feels like a game that can be progressed if you’re already good at math. I see that timer becoming excruciatingly annoying during the multiplication and division sequences..Version: 1.1

Another energy gameHas an energy system out of 20 and each round takes 5 and looting also takes from the energy pool. They also give 5 seconds to solve the math problem in a round which is incredibly fast even for someone that's great at doing math on the fly..Version: 1.0

Interesting concept, poor executionStarts out well, I enjoyed the arithmetic refresher, but becomes repetitive quickly. Also, since you need mana to level up, it essentially becomes PTP in the later levels. I had already made a purchase to remove the ads and refused to spend more money, so I very slowly grinded through the game over many hours (not because I enjoyed it, but because I’m a little OCD and wanted to finish). Then, on the very last round of the last level, the game crashed. I tried restarting the game , my phone, etc., but it always crashed in the same place until I deleted the game out of frustration. I’m taking away a star or two just for that. If you insist on playing this sadistic game, focus on the + time power ups (+ attack % after that) and ignore everything else. Better yet, go do math on your own and save some frustration..Version: 1.1

It’s prodigyIt’s just prodigy with easy math that will take your money. I recommend prodigy for grade based math, a fun story tho it can get a little repetitive with the fighting but it’s better than this. not sponsored.Version: 1.21

Be prepared to watch lots of ads.......The cool down is short and it’s annoying how after every match there an the short cool down would be more tolerable if there was less ads.Version: 1.0

Was fun but can’t click the collect button on iPad ProAfter beating the librarian (intro ‘boss’) I can’t progress any further. The giant collect button does not react to my clicks, restarting the game, your scrolls are consumed but you don’t get credit for the fight the only option is to redo the fight to which you will still not be able to click the collect button..Version: 1.21

Good game too many adsWhy so many ads. Too many. I don’t like ads. I like the game though..Version: 1.0

Great game to many annoying addsLove the idea of this game, but the adds after each battle is annoying after 10 minuets of playing. It is optional to pay to remove adds but it’s not the point. Otherwise I’d play it.Version: 1.0

App brokenI love this game, have been plying for about a year. Maybe 3 weeks ago, the Leaderboard route broke. I’ve contacted devs, but no response..Version: 1.21

FreezeLike the game so far and think it will be great for my kids… aside from the fact that after I beat the boss in the library it asks for a review and then promptly freezes forcing me do that battle over and over without ever saying the area is complete. Will change my review once this is fixed..Version: 1.21

Too fastThis such a cool game, but 5 secs is just not enough time for my 10 and 12 yr old to work out the problems, it would be cool if we could adjust the time..Version: 1.0

Nice design, but needing mana to level up was a no goTitle says most of it. You need mana to level up (after gaining enough XP) and you eventually get to a point where you don't have enough mana left to continue leveling up. You accrue it at such a slow rate that you are essentially forced to pay for more if you want to continue to level up. Deleted the app at this point. Would re-download if this was modified..Version: 1.1

Too fast and rigidIt would be nice if the very first level started slow; the current version only works for people at a very specific level of math skill..Version: 1.21

Pay to play after the first few hoursFun game, but in order to level up, you need a resource to level up, "Mana". Unfortunately, the only way to get this Mana is to buy it with cash as an IAP. If you don't, you stop leveling up. EVEN IF YOU DO BUY, you'll need to buy more within a few days. I suspect that in order to beat the game you'll need to spend somewhere around $20-30. Maybe the maker can chime in on the exact amount. I actually bought the mid-tier Mana package, but it ran out in a few hours of play. Extremely annoying..Version: 1.1

Hoping for improvementThe idea of the game is fantastic but the logistics are WAY off. Trying to do complicated math problems in a few seconds makes some levels impossible to beat without making in-app purchases. Also, I feel the points system needs tweaking. The more complicated the problem you solve, the better your attack and takes away opponents attack all together....Version: 1.1

Needs thought about progressionDevs have clearly considered balance adjustments, especially extending time for levels. Sadly, leveling up, perhaps the most enjoyable mechanic there is, is locked behind a premium currency (mana) assuring that eventually a wall is reached. Given that we are bombarded with ads it leaves the impression that the players of this game will always be the lowest priority when it comes to monetization..Version: 1.1

Not for math beginners or kidsMath isn’t my strong suit. I grabbed this game thinking it would help me get better at quickly solving basic math problems. Doesn’t start off very slow. Not able to adjust difficulty, timer speed, etc. Definitely not a game my kids will enjoy either. I’ll give the game another try if adjustments can be made for people wanting to get better at math and for kids..Version: 1.1

ShamefulI’m disappointed Crescent Moon. 3 layers deep premium currency micro transactions in a game geared towards children and young adolescents. This is the height is sleazy. The game concept is interesting and nicely executed but the devs turned it into exploitative garbage. Parents: avoid this for your children, there are surely less scummy math games on the App Store. This one is going to encourage purchase of mana flasks to be used to buy gems to be used to buy consumable items in the in-app shop. Crescent moon used to be a respected publisher years ago, it is sad to see their name on something like this..Version: 1.0
