AudioLayer satisfies the most sought after gap for contemporary music production on iOS devices. The ultra efficient Streaming Sample Engine SSE is capable of playing hundreds of voices of big multi-sampled instruments even in strictly resource limited applications like using multiple instances of AudioLayer in AudioUnit host environments. - Multiple storage options -
The consequent usage of the open file structure of the Files app makes organising even large sample libraries a breeze. Sample recordings and Instrument designs made with AudioLayer are seamlessly available across all your devices and desktop using either iCloud storage or external SSD. The iCloud option opens up new forms of collaborations with musicians all around the world to share your creations and work together.

- Multi Scope Editing -
To support the creation of complex multi-sampled instruments AudioLayer allows you to use a hierarchical structure of Layers and Zones each with it’s own sound manipulation parameters. A unique element of AudioLayer is the possibility to decide for each Zone at which Scope level your editing apply: For the all Zones in the Instrument, for the Layer only or individually for this Zone only. This opens a whole new world of creative options for sound mangling. For sound manipulation you can use a full set of Filters, Envelopes and LFOs to shape the pitch, timbre and level of the sound of each Zone.

The unique architecture of the Streaming Sample Engine allows for instant loading of even complex instruments and makes this switching from one Instrument to the next without cutting off the sound! And this includes of course also different effect setting

- Easy Design Workflow -
The built in audio sample recorder let you create Instruments on the fly in seconds. The Music Effect AudioUnit / Audiobus effect plugin of AudioLayer let you record multi-samples semi automatically directly inside your preferred host and instantly create an Instrument with the help of several Auto mapping options available. This includes file name based mapping of key ranges and velocities and automatic pitch detection. For the creatives we’ve also integrated a special “Single Cycle Waveform” detector making the use of this special files a breeze.

✓ IPad 2018 - absolutely amazing!!I was anxious to buy this based on reviews stating it crashes so often, but I thought I’d take the risk. I’m so glad I did. This app is unreal. It’s so powerful and easy to use once you’ve spent an hour (as a pro user) with it. I wish for more modulation controls such as being able to fade in layer volumes using CC001 mod wheel. My only criticism is that the price may alienate some customers. I’m very happy to pay this price because I can extract the most from it, but I fear that the consumer level customer will be put off by its high price tag and steep learning curve. ✓ I like what I see (& hear)!Update: It needs a ribbon controller option❣️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ Only a couple of minor issues so far. Those I sent to support. 1) Context sensitive help for the Para EQ displays the Flanger help instead. 2) When I touch their icon in the upper left, the IAA transport bar displays through or on top of the info screen. At first I was disappointed that there is only (so far) context sensitive help but unlike almost all context sensitive help I’ve seen to date, it actually does explain things fairly well. A detailed user manual would still be welcomed as there is a lot here to ‘play’ with here! The UI is very easy to use. The ease of instrument creation using virtually any sample or simple mic recording is truly phenomenal❣️ More later after I’ve spent a few hours playing with AudioLayer. PS - App could use note hold/key latch feature. Also, keyboard octave sector needs to be place-able anywhere. Not only by increments of displayed keyboard width..EriptronVersion: 1.0.0

✗ Stunningly poor user interfaceThe amazingly badly designed user interface makes this potentially powerful app all but useless. You either have to import everything all at once via the poorly documented batch operation, or delete it all, edit outside the app, and try again. Made a small error? Delete it all and start again because the user interface makes selecting and changing small elements too difficult? Selected the wrong thing and you want to deselect so that you can see what’s going on? Forget it: tap in an empty space and you get the load dialog. Tap out of that, and your unwanted selection is still there. Pinch zoom into make it easier to select? Forget it: pinch zoom is so limited, you can never make tiny elements large enough to manipulate. So just edit their data fields by hand? Forget it: you can view the data for each zone, but you can change things via the graphical interface. Sometimes the tiny graphical control items don’t even appear on the screen. Simply scroll to one side to make them visible? Forget it: they’re so far to the side that the iPad always snaps the screen back to push the elements out of sight again. So reach blindly and hope you grab the right thing and placed it in the right spot? There you go! But oops you made a small placement error, so manually delete everything, do another batch import, and do it all over again. Classic case of logical, theoretically correct, yet utterly incompetent user interface design. Thinking of buying this tedious time waster? Forget it!.Customer18492Version: 1.2.1
