JSHealth Nutrition for Negative User Reviews

Some IssuesWe are a family of 6 I am trying to Meal plan for. I love all the recipes and the fact that you can have it set up on a calendar and it creates your shopping list for you. But my biggest issue is that you cannot set the number of servings for each recipe like you can in the FitOn app that features JS Health recipes. This makes it very challenging and defeats the purpose for why I downloaded the app, which was to make my meal planning significantly easier. Now I still have to comb through all the ingredient and add up how much of each I will need for the week. Such an easy feature to implement, I don’t understand why it’s not there when there are so many others ways you can customize. I don’t know if I will keep this app if they don’t add this feature because it makes a world of difference..Version: 2.1.5

DisappointedI have not been able to get into the app. This is my 4th day of trying. How to I cancel my log in and subscription before Sunday?.Version: 1.1

I wish the program made senseSo many great things in this app if you just look at all the recipes, workouts etc. I really really want to love it but I found it nearly impossible to switch the recipes in the plan, it’s just too hard to figure or is buggy or something so I’d get frustrated and give up. And then for the recipes you can’t update the servings in the shopping list or In the recipe and of course all the recipes are different. If you go by the program or select recipes then it’s Breakfast for 1 or 2 and lunch 1 or 2 servings and then dinner for 4 so for one person it doesn’t make sense in the shopping list. You have to try and work it out yourself. Not sure it would work for multiple people either..Version: 2.0.5

Love it but unusable on iPhone 12 miniLove the concept and all-in-one convenience of the app. Content, brand and conveyor wise this is amazing and I can’t wait to get stuck into this holistic health app but one thing that’s stopping me.... it’s actually unusable on a iPhone 12 mini! The universal navigation buttons at the top right and left side of the screen overlap with the 12mini notifications area (battery/wifi and time) and as such is not tappable or functional. So when I want to access my settings or click back from a page I actually can’t and I’m now stuck on certain pages in the app. Please please fix ASAP as I really want to get into my jshealth and get started on my holistic health journey!!.Version: 2.0.7

Had an issue and no response when asking for help.Absolutely love this app and everything JS does. However earlier this year the app wouldn’t open or let me in. I emailed JS Team letting them know I was still patient for it but had no access- no one replied. I still to this day have not heard back. I ended up having to cancel my membership so as I wasn’t paying for something I had no way of using with on one seemingly willing to help me. Other than this as I mentioned the content is great! I just wish I could’ve kept accessing it..Version: 2.0.4

First impression...not digging it.It seems to have a lot of stuff on there but it also seems a bit generic. I wanted to use it to customise my daily meals and the shopping list. The shopping list just lists the individual recipes all over again with their ingredients. It doesn’t combine say three recipes worth of ingredients. If I need broccoli for three different recipes it doesn’t say 3 heads of broccoli . It says under each individual recipe 1 broccoli. Basically the shopping list is not a shopping list. It’s a list of recipes. You have to work out what you need in total of each ingredient yourself. Daily meal plan I don’t find user friendly. You can favourite your meals elsewhere but then you can’t find those favourites once you are in the meal plan to add them. You can’t add a snack. It has a list of snacks, you can’t choose one to “customise” your meal planner. Overall I find the app hard to navigate, there seems to be stuff everywhere, and the two main things I want to use make it seem easier if I just got a pen and paper and wrote my meal plan out and worked out my own shopping list without paying for this app..Version: 1.15.2

DisappointingI wanted to love this app as I think Jess and her message are great, but the functionality is clunky at best and the usability is not intuitive. For example, why can’t you pull your favorited recipes?? You have to scroll back through the full list which is both annoying and inefficient. Also, why are the recipes not in a single scroll/card? When you’re mid recipe and your fingers are full of peanut butter, I don’t want to have to toggle between the ingredient list and method, smearing oil all over my phone screen. Finally, I find the variety of recipes to be a bit lackluster. I’m glad I only signed up for a month as I won’t be continuing..Version: 1.12

Unable to cancel appI downloaded and set up this app when I placed an order. I get a free months trial but having checked out the app and I know I won’t use it and I’ll probably forget to cancel before payment is due next month. For some reason this app isn’t showing up with my other subscriptions in my settings. Even when I go into the app and press manage my subscriptions it takes me to the same page but it’s not there. I do not want to be conned into paying for this app because they’ve made it hard to cancel. I have emailed support but it’s just one email and I’m sure I won’t get a response in time. Please assist!.Version: 2.1.7

MehI know it’s new but it’s very glitchy which makes it hard to use. Also why would I want stuff separate in a shopping list?? A list is only helpful when it’s actually a list rather than a series of recipes I have to click through. If I wanted things to be difficult I could do that on my own..Version: 1.1

Too ExpensiveI think the price point is outrageous when we can get free recipes on Pinterest. I would pay maybe $4 a month. Really when we are already paying for Netflix, Apple Music, memberships that are significantly lower. Perhaps having different membership levels would make it more attractive to me..Version: 1.12

Great recipes, app needs a few updatesThis is healthy food that actually takes great. Love JS health recipes. Such a healthier and more effective way to lose weight. I know more recipes will get added with time. The app itself is a great concept but there are a few updates I would like to see 1. Hyperlinking within the app (if I add something to my shopping list I should have a quick link to view my shopping list or if I need to use the JS health bread as part of a recipe include a link to that bread recipe in the existing recipe) 2. Add the ability to multiply a recipe. So I make breakfast for the week or cook for a family of four. Either way I do not want to be multiplying one serve in my head. This could be available on the recipe itself but especially in my shopping list. Otherwise I send my partner to the grocery store with the shopping list and he buys 1/4 of the ingredients we need..Version: 1.1

Horrible User InterfaceI love JSHealth, I take a number of the vitamins and make a lot of the recipes. However, I’m so close to switching to another platform because the UI is unbearable. It takes SO long to load, when you’re trying to search for a recipe the latency between typing each letter is unbearable and it constantly says my ‘internet connection seems to be offline’ which it never is, both on wifi, 4G and 5G. As well as this, I can’t utilise the Favourites, Breakfasts, Mains etc. tabs as when I click into them they either don’t load with more than 4 recipes or breakfast options are in the mains etc. I’ve had to delete and re-download the app a number of times but to no avail, still doesn’t work. Constantly checking for app updates as well, nothing. Extremely disappointing, likely end up switching to Kayla Itsines or Steph Claire-Smiths or something of the sort. Really hoping they have a UI/UX team or something to address it..Version: 2.1.5

Hard to use interface. The size of everything is overly big so it’s hard to see a lot of options at once, the search feature searched far too broadly and would show me completely unrelated meals to what I wanted to find, I also couldn’t see any dietary limit buttons that wouldn’t show me recipes with ingredients that I was allergic too — which meant a fair amount of times I would see a recipe I wanted to make — favourite it, only to come back to look at the ingredients to see it had something like bananas, which I couldn’t eat. All in all, not as practical as I wanted it to be and I would definitely not recommend it as I feel there are many more easier to use apps..Version: 1.15

Not user friendly on iPadI’ve paid a year’s subscription to use this app on my iPad it isn’t able to rotate to landscape to be used in ,y iPad’s holder. VERY annoying!!.Version: 2.1.0

Not user friendlyLove the concept of the app and content it provides however I am unable to use it on my brand new iPhone 12mini. There are many icons and tabs in the app to click on to navigate through however they’re not able to interact with on the new iPhone 12 mini. It’s a shame as I’d happily pay for an annual subscription..Version: 2.1.0

The worst service.Developer response is only for appearance that they care. Responded to the email provided and haven’t received a response back..Version: 2.0.5

Only Wanted a MonthMeant to subscribe monthly and they won’t refund. Terrible service..Version: 1.12

Great idea, execution need work.I have been a big fan of JS Health for many years now and decided to subscribe to help me get out of a bit of a slump. Firstly, the recipes are delicious, but the integration with the shopping list feature didn’t add all my ingredients properly and I had to go through and check everything manually. As well as this, my JS Health meal plan was was my most expensive grocery shop ever. That was very, very disappointing. The app itself is a brilliant idea, however it is slow and difficult to navigate in several ways, particularly the recipe and the meal planning sections. I think the app would really benefit from a free trial period or a limited selection of each section for a free trial. That would have been very helpful for me to figure out whether the app was worth it for me or not. Unfortunately I will be unsubscribing and feel I have wasted my money here. And finally I would highly suggest that the recipes have seasonal produce - this will reduce cost and footprint for people and help them shop locally..Version: 2.0.1

No order numberThe app looked good. But when trying to set up an account , it asks for an order number which I don’t have as I ordered via Amazon. Oh well… app deleted and the day goes on.Version: 2.1.3

Nightmare auto renewalThis app has limited recipes and information. I cancelled my subscription within two weeks but it auto-renews even after cancelling. I opened a dispute with PayPal but have now been charged for four months and can’t claim it back even when I have screen grabs showing that it says subscription cancelled. It’s very annoying being charged and the cancellation process being ineffective. Hopefully now Apple have blocked the renewal process..Version: 1.9

Not worth itThe recipes are reasonably good but the app is very poorly integrated. It’s difficult to switch between sections and suggestions are not hyperlinked eg recipes that refer to using the granola recipe as a base require you to go digging for it rather than linking it from within the app. The combined shopping list doesn’t actually combine ingredients between recipes so you might need 1/2 cup almond meal for one recipe and 1/2 cup for another and the “combined shopping list” lists each separately. Not a combined shopping list at all; doesn’t assist with shopping. The body scan etc audio also doesn’t play for me. The food diary is buggy and the layout of the weekly plan is not good - a monthly plan or a more clearly demarcated calendar layout would be better. Also the recipes rely heavily on a small subset of ingredients eg tahini and chia seeds. Fine if you like those things but it can be a bit niche. Overall not worth the money I paid for it..Version: 1.16.2

Very disappointedI have always been motivated by Jess’ advice. I’ve bought many things such as books, vitamins, a programs online. However, this app won’t let me even create an account to purchase it! If you design an app and a person who works in IT for a living can’t get it to work, there’s a problem. I was really excited about this. Now I just feel disappointed and a tad shocked. I would hate for anyone to judge Jess’ abilities or knowledge on how non-functional this app is. Such a shame..Version: 2.0.5

Good concept but needs some work to justifyI’m a fan of most of Jessica sepals books and overall nutritional philosophy. This app has some good concepts like the nutrition clinic, but it’s hard to justify $15 a month for it. It also doesn’t appear to have a private option where your question doesn’t need to be public. While there are a lot of lovely recipes with great imagery, the app is frustratingly slow to load. I also noticed in the daily meal planner it looked as though you couldn’t add all the recipes to different meals? There’s also a sense of reputation, if you’ve read her books or done her program it’s just a rehash of the same rules, recipes and mindset. I would half the cost of the app, fix the slow load time and expand the features to justify a monthly fee..Version: 1.15.3

Very impressive appI only gave this app 3 star for two reasons. I use the app on my Apple iPad and mobile. And as I switch from devices I have to sign back in every time. Also it would be nice if the app on the iPad moved with the iPad as it changed from portrait to landscape when following a recipe like it does when you do a workout. Otherwise I love it so far. Food is very tasty and easy to follow. With most items already in the pantry. Keen to try some vitamins. Thank you JS health..Version: 2.1.5

New app userI’ve only just downloaded the app, I’ve been doing a lot of research looking for the right app for me. This app looks fabulous, the recipes are very extensive and great quality, developed by a dietitian and can be filtered by intolerance or preference. The meal planner is handy and the shopping list will make life easy. The only short coming I’ve discovered is that it doesn’t tally the calories for the meals chosen in a day and let you know if you’re in deficit or over your target when you select the recipes for each meal. From what I can see so far I’m going to need a separate app to add my daily meals so I know if I’m on track. Dev, please let me know if I’m missing that function of the app, as calorie management is crucial to my goal of weight loss..Version: 2.1.0

Disappointing app, technically falls shortI have all the JS Health books and find the recipes excellent and easy. BUT the app falls way short! Very slow to load images etc. Twice now I have had to delete & reload as it says internet connection issues. Plus it is not optimised for an iPad. Yet so many other food apps look great on the iPad. So expensive for what you get. I will be canceling my subscription unless they make some drastic improvements..Version: 1.16.1

No slow cooker recipes: only two soupsNot a very wide library of recipes, especially for the subscription price..Version: 1.12

Great content but app is difficult and I struggle to get supportI love the recipes and content of this app but every time it signs me out I cannot sign back in. I try to contact the team for assistance but can’t get any help. I attempt to sign in and it says my email isn’t registered but then I try to register and I am told that I can’t sign up because my email is already registered ? I have been forced to cancel my subscription solely because I can’t sign in ! I’ve now had to find another app for my meal planning which is unfortunate because I prefer the content of this app..Version: 2.1.1

First time impressionsThe recipes are amazing and look delicious and nutritious! The things I found clunky with the app were: When you add something to the shopping list unfortunately it doesn’t combine all your ingredients into one list - it’s just each recipe listed out again so you’d still have to write everything out to know what to buy I would’ve liked it if the meal plan adjusted based on what you ate - ie if you’re having a high calorie/dense meal for breakfast then your options for lunch and dinner change to balance it out so you can make sure you’re getting enough of all the right things throughout the day In the meal plan you can’t select a snack for AM or PM it just lists generic snacks so you can’t actually record what you’re actually eating... it’s the same with sweet/treats/dessert... it would be good if you could put in what you drink as well... at the moment you can only see what you had for breakfast/lunch/dinner It would be nice if you could track what activities you were doing during the week as well - that’s where it fails in being an overall health and well-being tracker.Version: 1.16.2
